We got here at 4ish and they open at 3pm so we were able to find parking quickly and get a window booth as soon as we walked in. I'm glad we beat the rush because when we were leaving it was packed and heard the wait was 45 mins. Our son ordered with my husband. 2 pounds of shrimp in garlic sauce w/ 5 corns, 4 white rice, fried calamari and $75 King crab legs for our bday boy who picked the spot. For drinks 2 sprites, 1 bud lite & one bud lite michilada. Server was nice but gets really busy and somehow swapped servers during our meal to a female that rarely was attentive. Overall, the food was delicious and you go for the experience but when the check finally arrived she stood there and made my husband and I uncomfortable. Like if we are going to run off with the payment device. We know the tips are off but he left 15% which was $38 tip. I have ordered takeout from this location multiple times. The food is always delicious. After a few years of this I felt the desire to finally try dining in. Big mistake. The restaurant is packed corner to corner with tables and booths tucked against the walls. It feels as though the management felt they could squeeze in a few extra tables to accommodate the high demand. Unfortunately this only made the place feel overwhelming and uncomfortably loud. I made the mistake of arriving on a Saturday. But this should not be the undoing of a wonderful place. The bathroom is in dire need of a mirror at least for the ladies. This place offers a messy meal requiring a bib for all guests why wouldnt you provide a mirror to check for sauce splashes? After an hour and a half wait we were directed outside to a table. In general this is not a deal breaker for me but with the night chill and the small child that had been invited along with our group the lack of any type of heating lamps or barriers from the wind made our meal less enjoyable. We were also not given the option to wait for inside but just hustled outdoors. Lastly, our server did not bring the comfort of a welcoming meal but the rush of the kitchen is shutting down and no longer taking orders so hurry up and order everything you want before we close. Sorry boiling crab but I had higher expectations. You've outgrown your location. Grow up somewhere larger or up your game with higher standards of service. Don't take my reservation if you cant provide the service. Oh and your skimping on the sauce. We know your making money please remeber we are spending our hard earned money on your food. read more

8/2/25 we celebrated my Moms birthday, their were 8 of us. We were disappointed because they did not have the Dungeness crab, we waited for our table for 1 hr ,they should have had some sign saying no Dungeness crab. This was my first time at this location and I came with a few people. I haven't eaten at a boiling crab in a few years due to the long wait time. 3.5 for me! It's been AGES since I've been to Boiling Crab so consider me thrilled when a friend decided he wanted to go for his birthday. Come on a weeknight, people! Maybe it was an unusually slow Wednesday, but we got there early to put our names down anticipating our group of 7 would have to wait an hour, and we didn't "officially" put our names in until about 10 minutes before we wanted to eat! I don't think the wait from about 5:30-6:30 was ever longer than 15-20 minutes. We got a whole feast for the table-- Whole Shebang Shrimp, Crawfish, and Snow Crab Legs with corn, fried catfish and calamari, and Cajun fries. We got both mild and medium spice levels for the shrimp, as I had remembered the medium spice level being pretty spicy the last time I went. To be honest, the medium was perfect and the mild was a little bland! The shrimp, corn, calamari, crab legs, and crawfish were all very good. I'm not an experienced crawfish eater, so maybe this is just how crawfish is/what it normally tastes like, but there seemed to be very little edible meat in ours and something tasted a bit off, if I'm being honest. Absolutely love this place, especially when there's not too long of a wait. Still don't know why boiling crab closes the waitlist on the Yelp app, it helps so much. But today we stopped by right when they opened and there was still about a 45 min wait. It was crazy busy because of the dodger parade, almost everyone in there was wearing dodger blue. Took my mom and aunt here for lunch, going pounds of shrimp with some fries and rice. We sat inside and I love the ambiance inside and the setup of everything because of all the TVs and lots of places to sit down. We had a reservation for 11 people; 9 of us arrived on time, and 2 friends were on their way. We kindly asked to be seated so we could order while waiting, especially since we were with kids. Unfortunately, we were refused seating until the entire party arrived. The staff's attitude was very rude and unaccommodating, which made the experience uncomfortable and disappointing. We came opening time on Sunday and there's a few people waiting but plenty of seats available. Service was good, not going to name drop but service was just good. The garlic butter snow crab was the most underwhelming thing ever. We've gone to a few boiling crab locations before and it was delicious. This was so below average at least it was edible. Really no flavour crabs tasted like nothing super disappointing. We also got shrimp in a different sauce and that was better. I had such a fun dinner at The Boiling Crab! It was really nice to be able to fully customize my meal - we ordered clams, shrimp, crawfish, crab, veggies, & gumbo. Everything was really flavorful & had the perfect amount of heat (we opted for medium). Our food came out quickly too. They even have great margaritas. I'm going to give them 2 stars because the server was eventually able to seat us indoors. The patio is not heated AT ALL. I will start by saying their app or whatever they use to estimate the table wait time was glitching today. It would bump me to 5, back to 7 and I ended up at 10 at one point. The girls in the front are so helpless. I asked to speak to a manager because at this point I've waited over 20 min of the estimated wait time. In the mean time my party and I were chillin ordering drinks as we wait. We were a party of 5, 2 elderly and a child included. We were very patient and the manager offered us no solution. I don't remember her name because I couldn't believe how incredibly rude she was. She was a young lady who offered me zero solutions other than to "not rely" on the link that they, the establishment sends me. Like. We just spend over $$ to WAIT. You couldn't offer us a table inside or even a drink while we wait? I even told her they were not being at all hospitable as they have been in the past. I'm so disappointed in this establishment. And the menu is so much more than seafood in a bag - highly recommend the lemon pepper fries. Pretty much everything fried is also a slam dunk. Past 3 times get sat with the same server and just dont get checked on... go the entire meal without refills.
