10/10 experience! Big thanks to our server Scott! Our group came in for dinner monday evening and the wait time was not too bad (15-20 minutes). We came in super hungry and really craving for that seafood fix. I ordered the 1 lb shrimp with sausage and potato, medium spice level. I love spicy so medium was just right for me, BUT I advise others to get mild if your spice tolerance is not that high. Scott, Scott my man. Oh my gosh. I would come here everyday if I could. We got the fresh oysters, fried calamari, 2lbs of shrimp, and 2lbs of mussels in the whole shabang sauce with no spice. We came in hungry! Driving by 2 weeks ago and noticed this location. i typically go to Westminster but decided to try it out. My friend and i came right at open (around 12:30) on a sunday and it had a small line but not packed inside yet. initially you see the space is very big booths are comfy and roomy and we were seated right away. we were served drinks in actual glass cups which was a nice change the food was good, service was good and never felt rushed. it was busy but not hour waits so that was really nice. will def make this my new go to location. read more

Coming to The Boiling Crab, you better expect to get down and dirty. If you're not familiar with this place, it's Cajun Boil style where they serve the seafood right in front of you on the table, and you just grab what you want to eat and peel away. The water is served in mason jars and makes it 10x more refreshing! The shrimp is well cooked and they always put plenty of sauce. The whole shabang is my favorite which is a mixture of all there sauces. Try getting a side of rice or French fries and out the sauce on em bc the sauce is just too dang good! Service-wise, I would say it's good. Our waiter was under training, but he seemed to be fine. Quick service, and he checked up on us a lot to make sure we had what we needed. Don't expect to be clean when you come here, you will be peeling shrimp/crawfish and will be eating with your hands. Ask for gloves in a bib if you want to stay clean. read more

Came here with my husband for our anniversary dinner to grub on some shrimp, snow crab, and oysters. It definitely hit the spot. This was our first time at this location and ambiance was great... lots of seating with tables, booths, and lighting. We opted for a booth. Note for takeout: Check your order before leaving! Open it and taste it too if you can't take spicy and make sure it's to your tolerance! We were so excited to finally have The Boiling Crab in our neighborhood, but our experience was utterly disappointing. We arrived at 8 pm and were told they were no longer accepting dine-in customers, so we opted for takeout. Unfortunately, they were out of mussels, which I had been looking forward to, so we ordered shrimp and clams with the ShaBang sauce (no spicy) and lemon pepper fries. After waiting 30 minutes, my order was finally ready. I checked my order and noticed the clams were missing. It took another 15 minutes for them to correct it. By then, the French fries were cold. A supervisor promised to replace them, but I ended up waiting another 10 minutes for the fresh fries. After nearly an hour wait and for the food, I finally headed home, starving. Once home, I took a bite and found the food was extremely spicy, despite ordering no spice. It was so hot that I couldn't even finish one shrimp. My family and I couldn't eat the meal because it was too spicy for us (we're lightweight to spice, which is why we requested no spice). We ended up throwing the entire meal away, except for the lemon pepper fries, which were the only redeeming part. We ended up making instant noodles and eating them with the French fries. Others in my group agreed - the texture was mushy, and the overall flavor had a weird funk to it. I wouldn't be surprised if the corn was prepared in large batches (as opposed to being made-to-order). Avoid at all costs! Boiling Crab also offers a selection of drinks - but don't get the margarita! It was watered down and not blended well. I'd skip out of the scallops (as someone in the party didn't like it). The gumbo is okay. Of course, it's a seafood boil. Most of my shrimp were clean. Sauces were on point. No complaints. I had a disappointing experience here and would not return based on the service I received. I visited on March 25th around 8:00 PM on a busy night. When we arrived, I asked the host how long the wait would be for a party of two, and he told us 20-35 minutes. He then directed us to wait and mentioned that we should receive a text when our table was ready. About 20 minutes later, we received a text stating that our table was ready and asking us to check in with the host within five minutes. When I went up to confirm, a different hostess told me we were "at the top of the list," which was confusing given the message we had just received. We continued waiting, but during that time multiple other parties--including groups of two and four--were seated before us. I also overheard staff mention my name quietly, followed by another employee indicating "no," which added to the confusion. After waiting around 40 minutes total without clear communication, we decided to leave. Shortly afterward, at 8:51 PM, I received another text saying it was our "last call" for the table. I understand it was a busy night, but the lack of coordination and communication made the experience frustrating. Better organization and clearer updates would make a big difference. read more

I loved boiling crab growing up, especially during college. So when I saw the sign as I drove down Hawthorne I thought "YES BOILING CRAB IS COMING TO TORRANCE?!". When I walked into this store for the first time, I got hit in the face with the familiar cold seafood smell lol. It sounds weird but I was quite happy to be there. The experience was the same. Can't go wrong with a pound of shrimp with the whole shebang and sausages! The only major difference compared to other boiling crab locations is the spacious floor plan of this establishment.
