Fun atmosphere but the cover band "The Bounty Hunters" are a scam. Musically gifted at a few songs they can play. But their set list along with the jokes along the way are all rehearsed and scripted. They pitch that they'll play your song if you tip the band..... but they don't. Claiming the "list is long and we'll get to it". Don't waste your money thinking you've got an at your requesting juke box. In reality they do a few songs pretty good, but nothing original. Hopefully they can learn some more music and expand the set list, if not it'll take 5 minutes and their talent ceiling is exposed. DONT TIP FOR RQUESTED SONGS, PUT IN $60 BETWEEN TWO NIGHT, buuutttt the set list long ‍ I suggest they bring in some better talent. Words spreads quick. read more

I came here late night on 4/17. I wanted to bring in my birthday (4/18) with a few shots! The main reason for coming was because it was fairly close to my hotel. They check your ID at the door before you come in. It was a little about midnight but it was definitely chaotic, in my option. One side was the bar and the other side was the restaurant area, i suppose. I went on the bar side to wait on more people. When I finally decided to order, I did so at the bar. Their alcohol selection is not the best, especially for someone who can only have certain alcohols (low carb). They had no circoc and no flavored sky, as an example. The bartender seemed to be in a rush. He was an older guy. It was hard getting his attention as well. Luckily, I'm just here visiting and don't mind really bar hopping. I ended up meeting my cousin at Tin Roof down the street. I had been there yesterday. I would recommend them over this place. It's more space and better vibes. read more

Not one to leave a review, however to start the bouncer absolutely HARASSES everyone as they try to come in. 45 year olds and over still giving them a hard time about their IDs and trying to do a comedy skit making fun of something about them. Just very unprofessional for such a iconic place in Myrtle beach. If you are watching the band and having a couple cocktails, the only way to get water is to pay $3 for a bottle. They refuse to give you a cup of water on ice unless you're a "big tipper". I left a 40% gratuity to the bartender once I closed out and asked for a water. The bartender told me you didn't leave that tip for me so you can pay for the water. For a room full of intoxicated individuals I've never seen a bartender refuse to give water unless they are paying for it or tipping big. Overall I'd say this place is meant more for "spring breakers" then a night out with your family or significant other. read more

We ended up at this place for a late dinner and drinks one night, and liked it so much that we ended up back here for just drinks on another! The first night, I had the hillbilly Philly for my dinner. It was pretty good, little greasy, but this is not a fine dining place so that was expected. The bartender that night kept our drinks full and was friendly. The next time we went, it was super busy! Our bartender Paige was so friendly and recommended a literal game changer for me- Coffee PBR. I know, doesnt sound the best, but seriously tastes just like chocolate milk. Again, GAME CHANGER. Overall, we loved this place. I will say if you are sensitive to smoke or don't want to be too close to anyone from COVID, maybe try somewhere else. My friends and I came to Myrtle beach in celebration of my best friends birthday & had a hard time finding things to eat! (For some reason most restaurants were closed) so after a short search I came across this place! The food looked great and the drinks looked decent. We parallel parked in front of Ripley's museum, paid $3 to park for 2 hrs, and took the 45 sec walk to the Bowery. WE INSTANTLY FELT UNCOMFORTABLE WHEN WE WALKED IN. my 3 friends and I are black women... (the only black women in the place) and as soon as we walked in everyone STARED at us as if we didn't belong there! like really stared... Don't get me wrong the RECEPTIONIST greeted us at the door but literally everyone on the floor stared at us hard & kept turning to look at us... Not to mention the staff was wearing shirts with confederate flags and selling many items with confederate flags on them. Everything about the place was unsettling. To call anyone racist with no knowledge of them personally would be quite a stretch but it is 2020 and to have an establishment with an uninviting atmosphere for people of color is very sad. A lot of places in Myrtle beach allow cigarette smoking in the establishment & this was one of them. People were smoking at the bar and for me personally the smell of cigarette smoke turns my stomach. we sat down, glanced at the menu, and left. All in a 3 minute timespan. As we were walking out the bartender yelled "where y'all going" I can't bring myself to spend money where I'm uncomfortable & don't know what the honest outcome would be. the food LOOKED like it would've been great but I'll never know. I'm a firm believer in freedom of speech, religion, & political belief; HOWEVER, if you're going to run an establishment you may want to consider making sure its an inviting atmosphere that caters to ALL races. read more

Disappointing. I was expecting better food ftom here. Cool looking nostalgic dive bar with potential. Went on a Friday night at 6 pm for an early dinner and cocktails. How do you run out of CHICKEN WINGS at 6 pm on a Friday night? Then I ordered a chicken sandwich instead and it was terrible. The bread was soggy/cold and the chicken looked sad too. The food was pretty good. I got a cheeseburger and fries. The customer service was really good and the beer prices were nice. A couple things to keep in mind with this place. Don't ever bring your kids here and don't come here if you don't like cigarettes. Half way through my meal I almost left because so many people were smoking ha I ruined my appetite . Tried to come here because the travel site said best burgers. Arrived at 8:02 pm and said we couldn't be waited on since I had a 12 year old after 8pm. I asked to sit outside and was told no again. I think if you are going to post your a family place then you should have seated us. Your workers at the doors were rude still baffled why have us call and complain then the manger said we could come back and sit outside why couldn't have been our choice to have our 12 year old where music was going to play. I don't care how they were rated I would never go back just for the rudeness of the two woman that stood at the doors. read more

Loved the feel of the place walking in. There were 3 of us. First they were out of fried shrimp...no biggie but we are in a seafood town. So just ordered something else. We all had the mushroom burger. We all asked for our burgers not to be well done, medium rare. But the server joked around with us that she would tell the cook... who wouldn't be happy because he didn't like to cook it that way. The server was GREAT, that's what the 1 star is for. The burgers were all crispy on the outside, over cooked. Gritty texture. The French Fries were fabulous, another reason for the star. So for the $54 we got 3 sides of delicious fries! The server knew we were unhappy and we saw her discussing it with a manager. They did nothing when it came to even subtracting one of the hamburgers from our bill, none of us ate them. read more

Super cool spot right on the beach! The food was exactly what we needed after a night of drinking. We ordered Mac and cheese bites which were amazing and the Cajun chicken wings were some of the best I've ever had! We also got a pitcher of the house beer which was similar to a Budweiser but SO much better. Even stopped in at the gift shop and got a shirt to take home. Just had a few drinks on the boardwalk and everything was great, except the check. We got 2 "pineapple upside down cake" drinks ($6 each per menu), 1 slippery banana ($8 per menu) and 2 sodas (no price on menu). Total was $38 with no itemized receipt. When I asked, the bartender said "well the prices went up and those aren't correct. Also, they aren't taxed yet and liquor tax in SC is 17% so an 8 dollar drink is really 10 dollars." I guess I figure I should pay the price on the menu and a short google search says the liquor tax is like 5%. I didn't want to make a scene for 39 dollars but it all seemed kinda sketchy to me. read more

Fries were cold and we couldn't get the server to even refill our drinks. Food took forever despite only ordering burgers and fries. We ate outside but still didn't feel safe. Grew up going to Myrtle Beach all the time, but I have never been until now. My wife and I went for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed it. Food: My "N.J. Drunken Trooper Cheesesteak" was awesome. Was a bit hesitant as I've never had fried banana peppers or buffalo sauce on a cheesesteak, but it was amazing. My wife got the nachos. They were good as well, but served on too small of a basket so they were hard to eat. Service: The food took a bit, but the waitress was very friendly and she was working her butt off trying to keep up. Atmosphere: Keep in mind, it is what it is... a dive bar. With that thought in mind, I can't really complain about the people smoking in there, even though I've gotten spoiled with most places being nonsmoking these days. I'll definitely be back. Such a fun dive! Live music- mostly country cover songs. This is where the band Alabama got their start, making Bowery a historical landmark of sorts. There are 3 rooms and a patio, so if the music is too loud just walk through the doors for a break. read more

There was no cover on the night we visited and a country band was rocking the stage. We waited in a brief line to order two beers and luckily found a table. The seating area was PACKED to the point the table corners were touching and you had to squeeze sideways to navigate the seating area. Absolutely no social distancing or masks were visible. The air was saturated in cigarette smoke. There was a young server who kept our beers full and brought us whisky shots from the bar. During the show a medical emergency occurred and a women dancing in front of the stage collapsed from a diabetic event. The staff jumped into action to clear entry for the first responders. One over served male guest screamed at the EMT and a bouncer removed the drunk idiot quickly. The band started playing immediately after the EMT exit and didn't skip a beat.What the venue lacks in Covid 19 awareness and personal space they make up for in service and southern hospitality. read more
