Staff was friendly and checked on us frequently to see how we were doing. We ordered an iced ube drink and the berry breakfast board. Everything looked pretty. It was enough food for me, my husband, and toddler to share. I like that it comes with 3 different meats and mini pancakes. The breakfast board was about $30. The iced ube was delightful. It wasn't super sweet which I liked. My son really enjoyed the drink as well. I think it would be nice if they had a version of this drink with coffee in it. Breeze Breakfast Board -4/5 So this is definitely shareable but I guess the only issue with sharing it is that the french toast, waffles and pancake all have a similar taste/texture profile so you might not entirely enjoy it if you aren't in a pancake/waffle mood. The ham, bacon and sausage were great but kind of a limited sampler in my opinion. Crab Benedict -4/5 Pretty good, looks the same as other popular places like Bill's, the hashbrown comes out a lot nicer looking though. Only downside to note would be it came out a bit colder than expected, I'm sure it's a 5/5 if it comes out hot. Service is a bit mixed they were great on checking up but near the end they seemed to kinda disappear. Not a big dealbreaker. I never had to tell a restaurant to "lightly cook" an omelette. Fair to say I'm not coming back. Not worth waiting for 30 minutes. I went there on Wednesday morning by 8am, just 2 tables had customers. I stood there for 15 minutes waiting to be seated. The girl with the glasses snootingly looked at me and acknowledged the customers behind me to get them a table so soon. Probably because I'm by myself and with a cane, that I did not deserve to be addressed/seated. I told the employee that I will just get a table, and she looked at me, shrugged her shoulders! Sitting at the table for another 10 minutes, no one came by to offer water or give me the menu. I left the restaurant feeling disgusted and so disappointed. I used to like coming here but I will never return. I have told all of my friends and co-workers not to come here. I met Pedro outside, a scrawny 16-year-old who claimed he's the owner's brother. I told him of my experience and he said "well are you done talking? We can give you a free breakfast I guess." No thanks, they will most likely spit in my food. I don't trust a restaurant that lacks customer service. They also don't know how to cook omelets. The eggs are overcooked. Prices are too expensive for the quality. As I entered the cafe, I was greeted by staff immediately with smile on their faces. They automatically sat us down/tended to us even though it was a packed day and sat us down at the bar with our menus/access to the menus. Very great service, very wholesome and kind and tentative. Alongside was how amazing their food and drinks were. I didn't get to try the mimosas (next time) but I did try their iced Ube with espresso. Super good, a little sweet if you don't add the espresso. Entrance- very hard to see the sign as it camouflages with the red background. I highly recommend they put chairs outside when people are waiting. Especially on the weekends they get pretty busy. Parking- pretty decent. Alot of parking space. Wait time on the weekends are pretty crazy. Ofcourse, just like any other restaurants on a weekend. They take your name and your phone number. They text you when your table is ready. We were seated after about an hour or so. Drinks- arnold palmer, iced matcha and iced ube. All pretty good drinks and they have more other drink choices. Food- eggs benedict, chicken and waffles and country fried steaks and eggs The service was pretty good, food came out fairly quickly despite how busy they were. I would love to try their breakfast boards one of this days. They have a pretty good size menu with a lot of choices so there's definitely a lot to choose from. I also would recommend having chairs inside while waiting. Their check-in area can be a bit confusing cause the person manning it leaves to do other work so it can get confusing at times on where to go or where the line is. We came here in the early morning and therefore not a line before us. The looks and feels of the food are fantastic. We got the Breeze Board for food and ice ube for drink. Both of them are well decorated. The Breeze Board is a collection of brunch classics (pancake, sausage, French toasts, etc) served on a cheese board. There is enough portion for two. I've been meaning to try Breeze Cafe for a while now so I'm glad I could finally stop by! There can be wait times of up to 1 hour on the weekend, and they do not take reservations or have an online wait system, so it is very inconvenient to eat here during peak hours (weekends). Everything they serve is very instagrammable - which I appreciate! I love finding cute places where I can post pictures of my food. The dishes we ordered however, were hit or miss. The drinks were pretty good, but I was disappointed with my caramel matcha latte. The matcha was very weak, and tasted more like a caramel macchiato from Starbucks. My group enjoyed the crab cake benedicts! I was a little let down by my tres leches french toast though - I question if there were even 3 milks used in the preparation of the dish, since I could only really detect the condensed milk on top. The bread pieces also were on the smaller/thinner side, which not only makes the portion size smaller, but prevents the toast from being as fluffy and flavorful as you'd normally expect. Still, I appreciated that they used fresh strawberries on top, and not preserved strawberries. We also felt it was also overpriced compared to the portion size as well as competitor prices. After tax and tip, it was about $30 per person. Front hostesses weren't the most friendly but our server was attentive and super helpful. Would I come back to try more of their menu items? My go to dish is steak and eggs for weekend brunch. I came to The Breeze Cafe on a Sunday morning. I knew without looking at the menu I wanted steak and eggs. For my steak I always get it cook medium rare. Last time I ordered steak at another cafe for brunch I noticed the steak I ordered was reddish-brown. That meant the steak wasn't fresh. The color of the steak I ordered from The Breeze Cafe was brown so that was a good sign. The medium rare steak was flavorful. The well-done hashbrowns and sunny-side eggs were sufficient to my liking. I enjoyed my first time here that I decided to come here again. The second time I came here I ordered the country fried steak, which is my second favorite dish to order for a weekend brunch. The first bite of an item makes a huge impression. The gravy on top of the country fried steak was cold. That sounds harsh, but the temperature of the gravy was more cold than lukewarm. At least the country fried steak was hot. The reason why I said the gravy was cold is when I ate the gravy with the biscuits. Due to the cold gravy I difficulty finishing the country fried steak dish. Because I liked my steak but disliked the gravy on the country fried steak I wanted to give The Breeze Cafe another chance. Out of pancakes, waffles, and French toasts I prefer waffles. I was thinking about ordering chicken and waffles. After looking at some photos the one waffle item that looked appealing was the Monkey Waffles. I came here yesterday for brunch. I was thinking about getting a side order with waffles, but my server asked me if I wanted to make the Monkey Waffles a meal that included eggs and sausage for about $8 more. I said yes. I requested my eggs to be cooked sunny-side up. When the Monkey Waffles were served I was excited to taste how the Nutella and bananas would flavor the dish. I was disappointed with Monkey Waffles as the waffles themselves tasted bland. There was no hint of salt and sugar on the waffles. The waffles I ate tasted like rice cakes from the grocery stores. I would have been more disappointed if I had ordered the chicken and waffles because the chicken would highlight how bland the waffles tasted. I liked my runny sunny-side eggs, but the sausages were ok. Saw this place on tiktok and made my boyfriend go with me to try. Love the interior and ambience. My boyfriend and I shared the Breeze board and it was pretty good. I usually don't like french toasts because it tastes soggy, but this one was pretty crunchy. The maple syrup is so goood with the waffles, its super liquidy and not thick. I didn't try the pancakes, since I don't like pancakes. But, my boyfriend said they're good like any other pancake. The bacon was perfectly cooked, crispy yet soft, which I liked. Sausages were good. The crab cakes were so good, you can cut it easily with the knife. The iced matcha latte was good, really creamy. My boyfriend got the vanilla latte mainly for his caffeine intake and said it was just a regular vanilla latte, nothing special. Service was 10/10. They at least have a way to text you when your table is ready so you can wander around the shopping complex if you want. Service was really great and they made sure to come by often to make sure we're okay. There's one bathroom at the back. They didn't have physical menus, just a QR code to get to the menu. I think they need to work on that site a bit though. I didn't like having to scroll through one really long page. At least have separate pages for drinks, and types of meals. I gave up scrolling and just picked something that looked good. The ube latte was so good with a shot of espresso. Super good. They don't offer it warm though. It only comes as a cold latte. The interior is pretty plain besides a couple of plants, but every booth / table was filled! The menu is on a QR code so it's the same one you see when you go to their website! We ordered a Maserati omelette, a breeze skillet, half an order of the strawberry French toast and an iced Ube latte. The actual only reason we came to this place was to try the Ube Latte (which we thought came with coffee? We think our server heard us incorrectly and gave us the iced Ube instead) and it was really good! I actually don't even like Ube myself and other places usually make Ube drinks really watered down / I can barely even taste it, but this alone would make me return! It was yummy! As for the other items, I wouldn't say that they stick out from any other place I've had. The food came out fast, there was a good portion for the price, but the food wasn't so crazy that I would recommend it over other brunch spots in the area. On a Sunday around noon, there was about a 20 minute wait, but it was well worth it. You can add your name to a virtual waitlist and then receive a text when it's your turn to eat. I tried the Churro Waffle and I think it's the best sweet, decked out waffle I've ever had. It wasn't overly sweet, and there was just the right amount of dulce de leche to where you didn't need syrup to balance the waffle. We were passing through town and glad we found this place on Yelp. I ordered the veggie scramble. All the veggies tasted fresh and it had veggies like asparagus which I don't usually see in a scramble. I was super excited to find on social media that a new brunch spot opened up in Newark. The food looked super aesthetic and delicious! There are not that many around and was looking forward to dining here. We called a couple of times during the week to check on the wait time and we were always quoted 1-1.5hr. We were surprised because given that this place opened not too long ago, with such a long wait, it must be a sign that this place is popular and good. This set our expectations even higher. When you are sat down, you will find a QR code on the table where you can look at the menu. We thought we order through the website however they were not taking online orders at the time. I'm not entirely sure if there is a certain cut off time but this was how it was for us. However, the waiter did come by to take our order. For drinks, we ordered Iced Ube Latte & Iced Matcha Latte. We both wanted to adjust our sweetness level but the waiter said it was already pre-made in the morning. We both were a little confused because the drink could easily be made less sweet by adding more milk and less syrup. The drinks were kind of disappointing as it tasted like ice cream and my boyfriend thought his was watered down. For food, we ordered the breeze breakfast board and the fun size breeze benedict. Long wait time for food, other people got served before us even though we were seated first. drinks were delicious! food servings big and filling! the ube waffle was ok... didnt really taste like ube maybe needed more of the flavoring. the country potatoes have gotten better, not sure if they change recipe or chef but very tasty! cute front area & plants surrounding while eating. read more
