Cute little restaurant that we happened to stumble upon for brunch. As soon as we got there the servers told us that a large group had just ordered so our food was going to take longer than expected. I appreciated them telling us up front but honestly we still received our food within an hour of sitting down, so they were still really fast being able to get food out for the large group and everyone else. Very friendly wait staff that continued to check on us while waiting. Our food was really good. I had the eggs and waffle with bacon which was sooooo good. Warm syrup delivered to your table, powered sugar on top of the waffle and eggs cooked as requested. Extremely affordable restaurant and they even offered a 10% military discount. This was our first time. I ordered my eggs over medium and my bacon extra crispy. My Bacon came back limp and my eggs had runny whites. I just returned the eggs to be cooked longer. Had to ask where my side order of grits was. Said it was still cooking. When he brought it out it was still sitting and water somewhat and you could tell they were instant so I just returned them. Just couldn't do lukewarm water grits. The pancakes were okay but clearly came from an add water mix only. Nothing to write home about. Then I asked for our bill and she just gave me the amount. I asked for the actual bill itself which she just handed me her computer. Then I noticed all three of us were charged and additional 44 cents per plate. They were all listed at $10.99 but we charged $11.43. I asked why there was one price on the menu and we were being charged a different price? Ask if it was due to the egg issue? She said no the price had just changed and it had not been reflected on the menu. Then I noticed there was an still my charge for the grits which she removed then she brought the bill back and I continued to look at it on her computer once again I noticed there was a $1.99 charge for hash browns. I asked did they not come with my husband's plate which clearly showed it came with potatoes. She said Oh no just potatoes not hash browns. But the waiter clearly presented hash browns as the option. I asked if their manager was on duty. Said no manager till tomorrow. Nothing had any flavor then all these up charges were off the charts. Do not waste your time and watch your ticket. I had to continue to ask for a printed receipt. It's really sad that you have to scrutinize a bill like that. It was about $7.50 difference after she took off everything she should not have put on there to begin with and that was not counting the difference of price the menu showed. It's sad to say but McDonald's breakfast would have been better. Not returning. read more

We made guy waiter w glasses aware he took a while to come back actually never came back so we got up and went to register. A young lady began to charge us then an older white hair older gentleman came behind her telling her to charge 50%. I assumed they were taking off the cost of my plate but upon inquiring the older man who is the manager said no I'm taking off 50% off your plate because you ate half of your food which is a total lie. I wish now I had taken pic of plate to show you guys. I told him no sir I'm not paying for my plate because I had just started eating. He mumbled something and I asked him for his name and he went on to ask me why I needed his name I said cuz I'm gonna leave a review about my experience but he refused to give me his name. Okay so I have been wanting to try this place for a while now. Deciding on what to eat or where to go with my family is always a challenge and because of that I turn to yelp to help guide me through this turmoil. Well I finally got to come a while back and man was it delicious. I had the meat lovers omelet with hash browns, extra crispy please! My Pop's had their biscuits and gravy. Let me say this, for a man that's very picky about his food he was very satisfied but did gripe about how it was too much food, lol. There has been a lot of talk about this restaurant at my office about how good the food was. Today was my day to what all the fuss was about. Let's talk about location. This little gem is nested on the south east side of town just down the street from Little Red Barn. For those of you who know this stomping ground, this place is where Browns used to be. First impressions count... Upon entering the restaurant the first thing you will notice is how clean the restaurant is. Everything is in its place and in order. The floors were spotless including the corners. No joke. The wait staff greeted us immediately with a smile. The food... Rumor has it this place is famous for their French toast. I can tell you it did not disappoint! The French toast is made with fresh french bread! The bread is lightly dipped in egg and grilled until just toasty and beautifully charred. The order came with three very generous slices, lightly dusted with powdered sugar, served with very hot delicious maple syrup, and a swirl of whipped cream. Also on the plate was perfectly scrammed eggs and two pork sausage patties. The first bite if the French toast melts in your mouth. The taste has an undertone of butter, slight egg, accompanied but a little yet delicate crunch of the bread. Do not pass the French toast up! Also ordered at my table was corned beef hash. This plate also came with two eggs cooked to your choice and two pieces of toast. The corned beef hash was cooked perfectly! Served was a various generous portion of the corned beef perfectly grilled with hashbrowns to include grilled onions and beautiful yellow bell peppers. The eggs that was ordered was over medium. The eggs set a top of the corned beef hash so when you cut into your eggs all of the beautiful yolk incorporated with the corned beef hash browns. This plate was beautiful, hefty portioned, and very filling! As we were eating the chef came out from the kitchen and blew on a whistle that was by the cash register. We were happy to find a family-owned breakfast restaurant after our recent outing downtown, and we were pleasantly surprised. The wait staff was delightful, COVID rules followed, and the food was great. The star of the show was my daughter's french toast. The bread used may have been french bread because it held up well and was not soggy. And that made the difference because it was flavorful and not soggy. I ordered a pecan/blueberry waffle, and it was also very delicious. My wife wasn't overly impressed with the plain pancakes, but I thought they tasted pretty good. We were looking to try out a new place for brunch and of course I went to Yelp to help guide our way. The photos all looked good and we were excited to try this little hidden gem out. The staff was very attentive when we arrived and we were seated right away. They had a full board of offerings that weren't on the menu such as a breakfast bowl and various other yummy breakfast concoctions including grits; which is one of my hubby's favs. Of course I had to try the french toast as everyone had raved about it. I had a side of hashbrowns, a couple of scrambled eggs and sausage. My hubby orders biscuits and gravy, a side of grits, scrambled eggs and bacon. The food was served timely and it was a good serving. Our major issue was that the food just simply didn't have much taste. There were 3 biscuits with gravy but no sausage in the gravy and it was quite blah that my hubby didn't even finish it. I stumbled upon this little gem by searching for a study spot close by. Although it isn't the typical coffee shop/study cafe, I will definitely return. Very clean and staff was very attentive. Be sure to check out their whiteboard with items that are not included on the menu. I missed the chicken and waffles but I will just have to return to try it out. I ordered the steak and eggs skillet (I think that was the name), very tasty and flavorful. Plenty of parking and overall very reasonable for the amount of food you get.
