We were looking for a new location for brunch and found the perfect spot! The peppermint mocha and the Mexican mocha were awesome, neither was too sweet. I had the brunch artichoke scramble, which is a new item and was incredible! Filled with lots of artichokes. Taste it by itself first, but then be sure to try it with some Cholula on it! The fresh fruit was very fresh as well. My husband had the Carnitas omelette, which he said was exceptional. It was also very large, he had to take half of it home. The refried beans he ordered with his omelette were delicious! Alexis Castro, was our server and provided excellent customer service! Definitely recommend this place! This is the brunch spot our neighborhood has been dying for!! We made our first trip to the Brunch Corner on a Saturday around 11:30am. Although it was quite busy we were seated immediately (party of 2). Our server was a familiar face from Cantina Azteca and provided fast, friendly service. We enjoyed a Bloody Mary, bloody beer and a warm blueberry muffin to start - delicious! My husband ordered the chicken fried steak and said it was one of the best he's ever had and the potatoes were cooked perfectly. I had the avocado toast which was covered in candied maple bacon - it was sweet and savory and super tasty. We have been patrons of this location (Rey Azteca) for over a decade and while we miss our favorite little Mexican spot, the Brunch Corner is definitely hitting the mark. I'll be honest that I didn't have super high expectations of this place but it happened to be on our way somewhere else and we have never been so we decided to check it out. It was such a delicious meal! Nothing super fancy but just really well cooked food. One of the best benedicts I've had in recent time, everything was cooked perfectly and they weren't skimpy on the hollandaise! Our kids shared the Sunrise Brunch Sweets plate which is double the amount as the kids plate but cheaper to get this one plate than two kids plates. The pancakes were so thick and fluffy! I also really liked the chicken fried steak that my husband ordered. We were worried it could be dry but it definitely was not at all. The servers were very nice here as well. Came here to try some place new and they didn't disappoint! First of all it's a nice little place and space is very limited and it's pretty busy. They had a line wrapped around a corner of the building. The wait was around 25/30 mins. This was on a rainy Sunday around 1030am. The menu great things to offer like seasonal stuffed French toast and variety of crepes but we stuck to classic breakfast. The Sunrise Brunch Sweets was great. The pancakes were perfect fluffy, filling and shaped like Mickey. If that bugs grow tf up lol. Has a little sweetness that I couldn't tell if it was the powdered sugar or the actual pancake. The mimosa is a mimosa so how can you really go wrong. Theirs are on more natural ingredients. Like freshly squeezed juices. Wish I for a cup of OJ! Also got their Biscuits and Gravy Combo. It was amazing. If you're a biscuits n gravy connoisseur like myself but appreciate the original scratch made everything. This is it. The biscuits were moist n had the right thickness/density. The gravy to biscuit ratio is what impressed me! Usually there ain't ever enough gravy but this had the perfect amount. Which means there's extra gravy yo get with your last bites! The fries, the type potato's I chose, were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Seasoning was on point. The service was as great. They checked on us just the right amount times considering how busy they were. And we are a family of 6 3 adults 3 kids all 3 and under. But if you're expecting someone to check in majority of your stay to consider that customer service keep that energy out. Like I said in the beginning this is a small space and very busy. I ordered the Florentine Benedict with house potatoes along with the Real Toro Rojo Mimosa. My friend also ordered a mimosa, and both drinks came out at the same time. The mimosa was perfectly balanced as it was sweet, refreshing, and a great blend of flavors. A little while later, our food arrived together, beautifully plated, and clearly freshly cooked. I was sad to see it go, but happy that the owners are sticking around to try their hand at a new concept for the location: Breakfast and lunch. With a menu loaded with all the options (and a full bar it seems) it seems to have Brunch well covered. We went for breakfast. And in memory of Rey Azteca I had the Huevos Rancheros. It was two crisp tortillas with a black bean layer between them topped with eggs and potatoes on the side. Avocados and a sliced pepper and sour crème and salsa. Delicious. Common things done well is the theme here. I started with and ended up with two Bloody Marys. These were two of the best Bloody Marys I've had in probably ten years, not too big or too small at about 16oz I'd guess with ice, and just a perfect balance of Worcestershire sauce, lime, tomato, vodka, and horseradish, together in harmony, all flavorful, and none that punched your tastebuds is to death. I had to resist chugging the first one, and hadn't planned on having two, but couldn't resist. The Brunch burger was well above average, on the verge of being outstanding. I think a bit of salt on the burger and a slightly runny yolk would put it over the top, but it was absolute delicious. In fairness the menu does state the eggs are over hard. "How do you want your eggs cooked" should be an option here. The brioche bun was nice and chewy, and the burger was cooked to perfection; moist, not overdone, and a wonderful gbd sear on the meat. Nice setup of lettuce, pickle and onion. Perhaps a nice aioli would be good, garlic aioli or sriracha maybe. The fries were nice, crispy, well seasoned battered fries, and I really liked the burst of acid from frequent bites on the big pickle. Despite some personal preference nitpicks, to be sure, and I'd order that burger again. My brunch partner enjoyed the Sunrise Brunch Sweets, which is two pancakes, two eggs, and two breakfast or sausage. The pancakes and eggs were good, but he said the bacon was the star. He also had a Coco Papaya smoothie, which he said was outstanding. This isn't a large restaurant, is weekend busy, and at noon on a Sunday there was an 18 minute wait. Inside the place is open, featuring enough bright colors to call the vibe vibrant. I really liked the clean white plate presentation of the food. Care is put into making a pretty, clean plate, and enhanced the cafe feeling. When my brunch partner and I arrived the restaurant was about fully seated, and it was a bit hard to navigate about. This would be challenging for the elderly or if you had a leg injury. At near capacity, The Brunch Spot is quite loud--of your looking for intimate conversation, it's going to be tough here, and it's a challenging environment for hearing aid wearers, as I am one. There is a large outdoor patio, and I'm sure that's the pace to be if noise is at issue. The restaurant is quite clean, as are the restrooms, always a good sign of a clean back of house, as you may know. The service was absolutely rock solid and totally adequate, The Brunch Corner features diner standard and brunch house standards on a menu that's just the right size, and has several Latin inspired breakfast items as well. It's an elevated version of many of the best things from many brunch and breakfast genres. I'll absolutely be back to this fun, offbeat, in the heart of Carmichael spot! read more

We met our Cousin's for brunch today from a friends recommendation. She was right, we did have a great brunch. The menu has many different options, all looking delicious. The service was excellent and the ambiance is festive and bright! The staff worked well with each other. The reason for 4 stars= I ordered the burrito with carnitas. Everything was delicious except for the tortilla. It was very tough on the top. I should've asked for a steak knife. The black beans were sooooo delicious. I'm not sure how they were dressed but very tasty and tangy. I flipped my burrito to go in the bean juice. I'm sure the leftovers will be delicious. We will be back for sure. read more

This was once a Mexican restaurant and the owners made the smart move to turn this into a brunch diner. Food is fixed to perfection and servings are plentiful. The huevos rancheros and potatoes are amazing. Highly recommend as well as the chicken and waffles. We were able to watch the crepes being made and they looked delicious. The waffle was extremely fluffy, which I liked, but my friend said he'd prefer something more substantial. The chicken was decent but nothing special. The chicken fried steak was okay, but we agreed that we've had much better elsewhere. All in all, worth a try. The service was excellent and it seemed like their crepes were pretty popular, so maybe we just ordered the wrong things!
