Sumner has great breakfast spots and this is one of them. Walkable from where we live and it's located in the main part of town where the shops are so it's easy to get to. The portions are huge and generous so you will never leave here hungry. Definitely be prepared for a wait if you're eating here on the weekends, they tend to get busy.

Breakfast with girlfriend, Tina! Shrimp n grits $28.99 11/22/25
    Aileen C.

This was my 2nd visit here. My girlfriend, Tina and I decided to meet here on 11/22/25. She wanted to eat here again after her husband introduced her to this restaurant for the first time a couple of months ago. This restaurant has two floors. The first floor has a dining section with a bar. My girlfriend, Tina reserved a table for us on the second floor in these little private cute cubbies. The restaurant was renovated, clean and bright. The last time I came here was probably in 2018. The interior was dated and the renovation is really nice and comfortable. The place was pretty crowded downstairs. For starters, we ordered coffee. Tina ordered the Holly Go Lightly omelet $22 with the biscuit instead of the cornbread. She loved her meal. I ordered the Shrimp and Grits $28.99 served with cornbread. OMGOSH!! The cornbread was humongous LOL! It was truly more like corn cake. It was delicious. My food was in a ginormous bowl. This was flavorful and tasty! I had so much leftover that it fed me at home a few times. Our server, Joanne was on top of everything. She filled our coffee a few times. Didn't rush us. She was also taking care of several tables. She was such a sweetheart. We would return again to try other items on the menu.

Jaden the server was very good. She was a bit rushed and it took a bit to finally get our order put in as no one asked or even checked if we needed anything. The train wreck is an awesome meal as is the holly go lightly. These are big portions so come with a huge appetite or take half home for another meal because it's that big. Stephen, Jaden, Thomas are all great. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming. If your into a big breakfast then The Buttered Biscuit is your best choice.

    Complementary corn bread, amazing!

We have been looking for a good breakfast spot and I think we finally found it. The Buttered Biscuit is the spot! The vibe of the restaurant is a little different but I think it's different in a good way and maybe how it was intended. We have seen lots of pictures of their complementary corn bread they give you with your entree so that alone is a reason enough to come give them a try! We both got the Grandpa Chicken Fried Steak, this was a 12 oz chicken fried steak smothered in gravy, 2 eggs, and potatoes of your choice with the cornbread of course. Everything was delicious! It came out hot and fresh. The cornbread is so good! I'd come back and order a plate of just that. It has a layer of sugar crystals on the top making it crispy and sweet, it's so good. The portions are huge here! We definitely plan to share the Grandpa Chicken Fried Steak next time because we both had leftovers which isn't the worst thing ever because it was all so good you'll want to eat it again the next day. We will definitely be back!

SOS to go with tater tots instead of the potatoes

Great service, great food! The SOS is my favorite. Place is always kept clean and well maintained. I hadn't been here in a couple years and I just remembered their gravy being the best I'd had. Glad I remembered because nothing has changed.

I attended a birthday luncheon at the Buttered Biscuit. I had heard about the restaurant so I checked the reviews. I saw the 3.5 rating and instantly had my doubts about the quality of the food. Boy! I couldn't have been more wrong. The servings are absolutely massive. I ordered the Cowboy Omelette with spuds. The first thing the waitress put in front of me looked like a jumbo cinnamon roll with cream cheese frosting. I thought she made a mistake but she assured me it was part of my order. It was the cornbread which comes with the meal. It was a meal in itself. The cornbread was topped with a sweet, butter topping. Oh my gosh, I had to stop myself from eating it to leave room for the omelette. It was so delicious it was hard to stop. Then came the omelette and spuds, which were absolutely massive in proportion. The spuds were so crisp and the SOS gravy on top of the omelette was delicious There was no possible way to eat it all. I ended up taking most of it home. We were a big loud group. Our waitress Angela was so friendly, patient and actually put up with us. She was amazing. Although the restaurant is a little hard to find they have ample parking. I will definitely be coming back with family.

Hello? I went to The Buttered Biscuit when I was single, but I didn't come back since I got with my husband. We moved to Bonney Lake in 2020, but I never thought about bringing him here for breakfast. On a Friday morning after our child was off to school, I thought that it was a great opportunity to have for ourselves a breakfast date for adults, right? I suggested to the hubby let's go to Biscuit in Sumner. Surprisingly and also a good news at the time: he had never been there with his friend because those 2 were always busy having their manly breakfast at Charlie's Restaurant & Lounge in Puyallup. Thank goodness I chose a great morning to go to The Buttered Biscuit because this restaurant WILL BE JAMMED-PACK on the weekends. Everyone LOVES the food here. Ok, you have to pay attention to the PORTIONS: THEY ARE SO FREAKING BIG. I kid you NOT. My husband is 200 lbs, and he could barely even finish his Omelet, and I certainly couldn't finish my chicken fried steak. On top of that, the little appetizer (corn bread) was also hella huge, too. My iced-tea Mason Jar was so big that I could barely finish. I looked over to the next table.... The guy ordered Bloody Mary, but he could barely even finish his darn drink anyway. This place is INSANE with the food portion but so WORTH YOUR WHILE in Sumner. Just make sure you'll go for a long walk after you finish eating to melt away your tiredness, or you'd be guaranteed to take a nap afterward.

So this is the cutest little hidden gem. The restaurant is simple but nice. Nothing fancy, feels like a grandmas dining room. The music was nice! Our waiter Zach was nice as well. He made sure to refill our cups before they were empty and made sure to check in. The food was really good and they serve large portions so I suggest you eat first then go shopping so you can walk it off. Only suggestion is the Ruben sandwich bread be a bit thicker because it's a lot of meat and sauce with sauerkraut. Made the bread soggy pretty quickly. But I was also able to eat the filling the next day and it was still really good!! My mom enjoyed the shrimp and grits too. It's definitely a must come and try again. They have a lot of options on the menu, breakfast and lunch. The French fries are amazing!!

    Yummy!

This type of serving(s), remind me if Yankee Diner, it was in Bellevue (where Applebees) is located now. Great food & service! Thank you Frankie ;-)

Just off the main road through the old part of town with all the gift shops and coffee spots. You have to do a little bit of a loop-di-loop to get around to it, there is a large parking lot when you do - depending how you come at it, you will only see a large burnt orange building - that's it. FYI the parking lot gets very full and yes, they get busy during peak hours, as one might expect from a brunch spot, on a weekend especially. The only reason I don't give full stars is that the food seems at first to have a lot of variety (huge menu) and yet it's really all variations on a theme in a way - milk, butter (well duh it's in the name), eggs. Every single thing is very filling lol. Like brunch on steroids. If you like to do a drink at brunch, this is your spot; in fact, the first thing when you walk in the door is the bar (cute décor all around). And the drink menu is huge with really funny creative names. The wait really was not bad at all. Everyone was very friendly - greeted us readily - and we were put on the waiting list. We sat outside where there is a covered patio of sorts, and were given a phone call in less than the originally estimated time. I *think* our server was Tom. He was also at the bar and he was very efficient. We really appreciated his on-the-spot attention to our table. Thank you!

This was my second time coming, and I am not even joking. It was better than the first! Our staff that took care of us was amazing attentive and had great recommendations. It was my partner's first time going and he can't wait to get back and try something else on the menu! Easily seated.Quick service and delicious food are definitely what we look for!

My hubby and I chose Tge Buttered Biscuitt in Sumner for our dinner date tonight. We were not disappointed! We were greeted by Gabby our waitress. It wasn't quite dinner time but they went above and beyond to accommodate us. My husband had the shrimp and grits and I had the Chicken Fettuccine. They were both fantastic! Gabby gave us both a slice of their homemade cornbread with their butter sauce. I thought I died and went to heaven. It was delicious. Our whole experience was just so pleasant great food! Great atmosphere! Great friendly service! We definitely will be back!

The fried zucchini were prepared in a manner that we haven't seen before - long, flat pieces. Excellent! My wife had the Sloppy Joe - and she couldn't have been more pleased. Seasoned to perfection. I opted for a Wedge Salad, which was another item prepared in a way I hadn't seen before either - it wasn't a big rock-like salad, it was sliced and laid sideways. Perfect. and with lots of bacon! We'll definitely be back to Crockett's! (We'll just have to find a reason to go to Puyallup.)

Came here per their suggestion, because I'm a food snob, and I'm glad we did. Cool little place, super clean, nice decorum, yada yada yada. Our server was Jessica T. I am very neurotic, and she was very patient, and even engaged in back and forth banter. She came to take our drink order, and if you know me, I always have a lot of complex requests. I started off ordering a boring vodka and soda, but then switched it up to cucumber vodka with muddled lime and mint with soda. Visibly and vocally unperturbed, she took my order along with my counterparts. The bartender whipped me up a couple of those bad boys and let me tell you, it was refreshment level: EXPERT. And props to the bartender, whom I thanked on the way out. After I drink order, I started ordering all sorts of ish. We had, an order of grilled sourdough, which was phenomenal and I'm actually going to start making that at home, if I ever get there, me and my (non-romantically involved, strictly platonic cuz I don't swing that way) partner both had the Cavatappi Ragu, and his wife had something with meatballs, that's all I can really remember. Man, even a my standards the food was so good. I'm very grateful that my folks picked up the check, and I feel bad because I ordered so much stuff, which I wasn't expecting because I went Ham on the menu, but damn man.... I think you can actually eat cheaper at a comparable restaurant in LA... Prices were pretty high. Even for me hahaha BUT all that being said, the next time I come see these clowns, I want to go back! Very good experience, very good food, very good service. ***DISCLAIMER*** This pure, uncut, honest review is federally protected under Federal Law by way of Bill #EO14149. West Pioneer Grill was walking distance and one that we haven't visited before, so we decided to give it a try. We clearly made it before the market rush because there were a good amount of tables open and we were seated immediately - 10 minutes later the place was nearly full. Definitely casual vibes here but that's what we were looking for. Our server, Jesse (easy to remember because that's my husband's name LOL), was great and we didn't have too long of a wait for anything. Limited selection of alcoholic beverages. I got a bottled Space Dust and my husband is a cider drinker but they didn't have any, so he also went with a beer. They do also have some liquor options. If you're a milkshake fanatic, we saw a milkshake menu that had to have at least 30 options on it! We weren't starving so we decided to split the fish tacos and it was the perfect amount. The tacos were good and were a generous size. We loved the sauce that they had it topped with, definitely pulled the entire dish together. Our son got some chicken strips and naturally, he loved them. We tried them and they were good - plus the ranch they have is BOMB. Very dilly, and really good! I think the only negative thing I really noticed was that the restaurant didn't feel the cleanest (observations from bathroom + flies) but could just have been an off day. Glad we checked out this spot and would definitely come back in the future for their extensive milkshake options!
