Yes! Take the time to visit this delightful establishment! My husband and I went on a Saturday morning to celebrate our anniversary. The cinnamon roll was perfection on a plate warmed up and with the cream cheese topping is the way to go! We are t breakfast people and don't love sweets right away, but we made it through just fine He got the biscuits and gravy and I got the breakfast burrito. We were pleasantly surprised by both! The biscuit was really dense and we prefer more of a light and fluffy vibe. The gravy made up for it and was packed with flavor and meat! He didn't like the greens and "salad" that came on top. But easily moved to the side of the plate. The breakfast burrito is HUGE and delightful. The hash browns were perfectly crisp with a good portion of meat and well balanced with all the ingredients. I don't like beans and asked to exclude them and felt like it was still a perfect burrito. Ambiance is a cute counter service situation. Would have preferred our table was cleaned better and quicker - but it was Saturday morning and they were hopping. The other thing of note is that we both complained because it was really loud. Came here for a lunch with coworkers as I work just across the bridge - I have been wanting to try and love it but felt like I was slightly underwhelmed. I ordered the hash special expecting loading hash browns but finding my dish coming out with potato chunks, a salmon filet, beets, other veggies, aioli on the side and lots of oil. I am not a picky person but this was not a favorite. The salmon was cooked well but having ordered a loaded hash, I didn't expect a salmon filet with a beet and potato chunk side dish. I appreciate the dairy free and gluten free options for those who need it. My coworkers mostly enjoyed their meals as well. Service was mostly quick but despite being not busy at all, it took 20-30 minutes. The space was clean. Bathroom had a lock code but staff provided it and it was clean. Menu was wide (from breakfast to snacks to lunch) and ingredients seem local as much as possible and well thought of. I will try again and hope I like it a bit more. I didn't know they added another location in NE. Was looking for a place to meet up with my friend for our breakfast tour and came across this location. It's in a pretty good spot- parking in the back or on the street. Plenty of tables -but don't stay too long as you might get the side eye- we didn't overstay and made sure there were tables, but still got the side eye on the way out. Counter service Food ordered: Gran belt breakfast which looked really good. Pierogies, sausage and eggs- pretty good. Pierogies were interesting and tasty. Ordered some cupcakes to go. My husband and I are visiting from San Diego for the farm aid concert and stopped in for breakfast. I was so impressed with the decor, so light, airy and clean looking! The prices were reasonable and the selections were unique and tasty. The pastry case is delicious looking and we wanted to try everything. A friend and I had brunch at this location today and enjoyed it! The decor was cheery and inviting! It's clear they have a following because when I walked in at 1215 today, there was no seating! You must order food before you sit, so I ordered and waited about 10 minutes for a table to open up. The staff was very pleasant and quick to clean tables so people could sit. Despite how busy they were, my food came out in about 10 minutes and was hot. The food was absolutely delicious! My friend got one of the sandwiches with a side of chips and said it was also very tasty! This place has great option and while we didn't order any pastry, the selection did look amazing. Tips are included in the price. I'm totally fine with brag, but overall, this place is a bit overpriced. I paid almost $70 for two entrees, two coffees, and two small mimosas. My friend liked her breakfast, though the coffee wasn't great. I had the smothered breakfast burrito; the sauces tasted very unusual, I think the ranchero sauce has either nutmeg or cinnamon. The salsa verde tasted very citrus-y. I wasn't a fan of either on its own, but together, it tasted pretty good. I think the burrito would have benefited from adding some sour cream or cotija. My favorite part was the mocha. You do order at a counter which we hadn't expected, but it was fine. Good and drinks were still brought to the table, and you can get water any time. I like the concept of mix between servers and self service. Overall, we were happy. Nothing was particularly spectacular, be it good or bad. The Buttered Tin's new location in Northeast is a gift from the breakfast gods. They're open 7am-3pm daily, serving up fresh breakfast and lunch items that are comforting but slightly elevated. They also have cases of provisions (local butter, house-made pickles etc) and baked goods! Literally a treat. Be sure to check out their daily specials which include rotating loaded hash browns, soft scramble, toast, and soup. We've eaten here (mostly takeout) three times already and we've tried and loved their maple peach french toast, pierogies sausage and eggs, biscuits and gravy, Caribbean chicken sandwich and porchetta sandwich. It's hard to choose a favorite, but the biscuits and gravy are probably the best in the cities. The porchetta sandwich is a close second. As far as baked goods, we've been very happy with the ho ho cupcake, Nordeast twinkie, Halloween sugar cookie, cupcakes... as I write this review I realize we might need to take it easy. Or go more often? Service has been great, and I am a fan of their locally sourced ingredients like Cry Baby Craig's hot sauce, Fischer Farms bacon and ham, Kramarczuk's Polish sausage and local butter. Came around 11 on a cold Sunday morning and we were seated immediately. Waitress can me over and offered coffee and water. There is also wine (3 choices) and beer it said to ask your waitress about. I saw a mimosa option but not a bloody. I got the classic breakfast with polish sausage. The eggs were cooked exactly as I asked (over medium), the sausage was great and the bread tastes great. It came with a choice of potatoes or hashbrowns. I went with hashbrowns and asked that they be well done since I love them crispy. They were fine in terms of texture but had no flavor. I'd try the potatoes next time. Service was great in the beginning but was really lacking in the plate clearing, needing a box, wanting a check stage. After reviewing some of what others have said, I have determined that this establishment is doing the right thing by implementing a 20% surcharge for livable wages instead of raising their food prices because it offers transparency about what that 20% is added to, which is a cause that I fully support, and makes me want to willingly contribute more, instead of increasing my expectations on the food quality due to increased prices. With that said, I have to make it clear that they indeed have amazing food! I have been here a total of 3 times, and each time it did not disappoint. First of all, even with the surcharge, most of the items are still under $20 and therefore affordable, on top of them providing a good amount of food on each plate. Second, quality-wise, I would highly suggest the damn good egg sandwich, the huevos rancheros benedict, the cinnamon rolls, the biscuits & gravy, and the pierogis, eggs & sausage. All of them have the perfect combination of food that allows you to say that you have gotten a little bit of everything! If I have one piece of constructive advice, it would be to offer a bit more variety in the salads that are offered with some of the plates. This is not a piece of advice I have for this establishment per se, as a lot of other restaurants do the same. I think adding some beets or cherry tomatoes along with the single kind of leafy greens would elevate the side house salad even more. While I wouldn't put this place as a breakfast / brunch spot better than others, I will say that this place is definitely one of the great breakfast spots in the city. The food is served in a speedy manner, and the atmosphere is very modest in a self-serve type of manner, although they also allow you to order at the counter. We LOVE the Buttered Tin in St. Paul so when they opened a new NE location closer to home, that sounded like a winner to us. We've now eaten there a few times and sadly I don't find it to be nearly as impressive as the OG restaurant. Many of the things are the same - the food is still good and the menu is the same, the decor is bright and sunny, the coffee is delicious and strong, etc. But this restaurant just lacks the details that the original location has. First, here you order at the counter and pay, you're given a number and the food is brought to you. It may be that they changed the St. Paul location to this model but the last time we were there, there was still table service, and I miss it at this new location. With the numbers for the tables, I feel like you aren't as welcome to dally, have another cup of coffee, decide to drink another cocktail and chat some more, etc. The cinnamon rolls, which are definitely worth noting, are the same as the ones in St. Paul bu they just aren't as good. I don't know if they're a day older, they're stored differently or what. And never once have we had anyone at this location offer to warm it up for us the way they always do at the St. Paul restaurant. Refills are not offered unless you go up and ask, water is serve yourself, when it is busy, the floors are unswept and the tables go uncleared. I don't know why this location is not as good as the other since the menu is exactly the same. I just feel like this location lacks the attention to detail and the excellent customer service. We will still eat here on occasion, but it won't be a regular stop for us the way it would absolutely be if it was the same as the St. Paul store. It's a shame. But hopefully some of these things can be corrected and then I can update this review! read more

The gravy was perfectly savory and balanced with the wonderfully flavorful and meaty gravy with two poached eggs and balanced out with the pickled onion. The biscuits where big and crispy on the outside and soft in the middle just like they should be. It's a day disrupter. I was thinking and talking about it for the rest of my day. My wife got the loaded hash browns and they looked and tasted incredible as well! I will be going back. I hope I have enough will power to try something new. The service was awesome. This was my partner and I first time in Minnesota visiting an old friend and literally chose this place at random. The restaurant has a great selection of food however the dishes are mediocre. I believe the best dish was the "Butter Tin Hash". The french toast was good as well just way TOO MUCH Syrup "I wish the customer had a vote".
