We had grace and forgave The Cake Lovers last year when they messed up the cake banner on the corvette cake we ordered. We didn't leave a bad review and still gave them a second chance this year due to their reviews and photos of other pleased customers. We were hoping to have a better experience and hoped to receive a beautiful cake like they advertise. Unfortunately during the first reveal the name was misspelled, Jackie said she could fix it and will be right back. My mother in law confirmed that she gave her the proper spelling of the name plenty of times and that Jackie had even written down so we don't understand how you could mess it up but we said ok no problem she's going to fix it. When Jackie returned and revealed her patch work we were disappointed once again. It was obvious she quickly printed out the name and slapped it onto the "custom plate" on the patron themed cake we ordered. We informed her that it didn't look good and we did not like how obvious it is. She once again said she could fix it but it would take half an hour. As everyone is aware, when you place these orders it's due to you wanting to celebrate a special occasion. We of course want the cake we ordered and paid for to look perfect and eye pleasing. We waited and instead of letting us see the cake inside Jackie brought it out to our car as if she was just rushing us to leave and not giving us an option to have her fix it incase we didn't like it. When I say this cake looks extremely unprofessional and HALF ASSED!!! I don't know how Jackie felt confident or comfortable letting a customer leave with a cake like that. It looks like she slapped printer paper on top of the custom plate and put a big ugly rectangle on the middle for the name. It looks horrible. Jackie knew we were extremely disappointed especially since this is the second year in a row and all she had to say for herself and the bakery is that she's not the one who decorates the cake and that the boss will call us on Monday to see how she can help us. What do you mean how can she help us??? The party is today and Jackie ruined our cake. What is the boss going to do? You already let the cake go. I honestly don't know how this company can advertise perfect work and then gives us disappointing cakes two years in a row. read more

Everything was PERFECT!!! I made a last minute request and they were very accommodating (others turned me and my Bougie Birthday requests down), so much so that they sketched my dream cake when they didn't offer the design I googled. Most of the time the cakes that are pleasing to the eye are not as pleasing to the palate or go bad (doesn't stay soft and fluffy) very quickly, but NOT in this case!!! The cakes & mini cupcakes looked GORGEOUS, they tasted BETTER than they looked even with buttercream frosting (sweet and flavorful frosting and moist cake that melts in your mouth), the cake did not harden when left out overnight (I prefer room temp cake), and EVERYONE LOVED the cake and mini cupcakes, which made it even more spectacular!!! Literally PERFECT, at room temp, and nearly perfect eaten cold!!! The treats that were used to decorate were not just edible but absolutely delicious (white chocolate covered strawberries, chocolate pieces, cookie pieces, etc.), and I don't really like macaroons but I like theirs. And the answer is YES, their cakes and cupcakes look and taste better than your best or favorite Publix/Costco/Sam's cake!!! Nobody has EVER surpassed Publix++ by such a large margin with such reasonable prices, greatly catered customer care (they provide more than a service, they care - they even found me a decorator, Aquarelle, who was AMAZING for my last minute needs), and high quality products that satisfy the pickiest of people. They have earned my trust and are now my exclusive cake/cupcake shop, also great location-wise in the heart of Broward County. read more

My boss of 16 years turned 75 this year (and celebrated his 50th year in practice as a criminal defense attorney). His birthday happened to fall on the week of our annual Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers annual meeting. This year we were in Ft. Lauderdale. I am a snowbird from Long Island. I spent several days searching for the most delicious BD cake for a relative who lives in Coral Springs. Attendees at the party have highly selective palates. They are the type that put a fork to their mouths to taste the cake and then push the plate away. What can I say but we have all been spoiled by the best-of-the-best in NY. The Cake Lovers cake was gorgeously decorated I must say. The "Cake Boss" couldn't have done it any better. However, the contents were more than delicious. This cake was delectably perfect! I ordered my friend's 30th birthday cake from The cake lovers. I was searching for places that do special orders on cakes and came across these guys. I emailed one of the owners the specifics of the cake. Let me say this, the service was outstanding. Coleene, one of the owners, was very accommodating, especially the fact that I placed my order three days before I needed it. Usually you would have to place your order about two weeks prior. I order the red velvet cake with vanilla buttercream filling and fondant icing. There were other specific details to the cake as well. The end results was a beautiful creation. The cake it self was delish!! Although the cake was beautifully decorated and tasty, the one thing that I really loved was the service. I seriously cannot recommend Cake Lovers enough. We used them for a wedding cake and they were AMAZING. They have so many flavors to try - not your typical chocolate and vanilla. And every flavor is to die for. We had them make a cookie cake for our grooms cake and it was the best cookie cake I've ever had. My husband and I ate leftover cake our entire honeymoon and it was worth every calorie. Their cakes are also GORGEOUS. While they are slightly on the more expensive side, it is well worth it. The cake was truly outstanding in every way!! It was my girlfriend's 50th birthday and they made a black Burberry shopping bag with white rope handles with a scarf coming out of the top in the traditional Burberry print standing up on a white base cake with a red bow around the bottom. Everything was made out of cake and fondant. The artwork was outstanding!! It looked SO real!! The best cake artwork I have EVER seen and the best part was the cake tasted as good as it looked. I can't say enough good things about this bakery! The cake was absolutely BEAUTIFUL and delicious, and they were so sweet and accommodating when I reached out only a week in advance. They truly went above and beyond with customer service, listened to my idea, and brought it to life even better than I imagined. The design was amazing and they nailed every detail.
