Today was the second time I ate here with my family. The first time was good but this time it was a bad experience. First off my husband asked for the code into the restroom and he immediately asked if he was going to buy anything. He told the guy yes of course. I walked in right after and I was greeted at the register with a man that was a little on the sarcastic side. He took my order overall he was nice but the whole feel of the place was just off. Not very friendly. I ordered a half sandwich for my kids and I didn't realize it was small so when my husband went back to order because the sandwiches were small he was told "hey we gave you what you ordered" very unfriendly. Also the sweet peppers were not cooked into the meat they were just placed on top of our sandwiches and they were cold. I ordered onion rings and I got one that wasn't even cooked all the way it still had power in it when I bit into it. Overall not a good experience. I really enjoyed the hoagie chicken sandwich. They had a half size and large. Half was perfect because it had enough chicken and flavor was tasty. My husband enjoyed the hoagie steak cheesesteak. I live very close to this plaza and am so happy this location is open. I'm an avid fast food fan and typically loyal to the best- In-N-Out and Chick-Fil-A. The Cheese Steak Shop has broken into this rotation with their taste, very cool owners, and quality of overall experience. The app also rewards you with points so eventually you get deals on your meal. There are options like the OG steak and cheese, but also a spinach and mushroom version that makes me feel like I'm doing something good for my body with some veggies for the day. :) I hope this plaza gets more gems like CSS. read more

While the sandwiches do have the stereotypical ingredients, it just tastes a little sad; poor man's cheesesteak thrown together and served. Maybe the meat was a little overcooked, maybe the vegetables needed more seasoning, maybe the bread needed to be toasted, maybe a better cheese...couldn't put my finger on it. Finally got a chance to check out this cheesesteak shop. I ordered the Motown Philly large and curly fries. The sandwich had tender beef slices, mushrooms, onions, cheese, and red and green peppers which I found too spicy. I specifically told them to put the meat inside the bread instead of on top. One thing about a cheesesteak, the bread makes 1/2 the goodness. This -lace gets that right! The steak was also tender and flavorful. I ordered The Hoagie with peppers on it. The Pacifica location opened about 8 months ago and doesn't disappoint! We ordered Motown Philly, which has mushrooms and a Sizzlin' Pig, since everything is better with bacon! Also tried the Onion Rings. Everything was delicious. Steak cooked perfectly, melted cheese with sweet and hot peppers. Onion Rings had the right amount of crunch. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Customer service was super nice and attentive. They even asked if I wanted the slices wrapped separately... That was a nice touch. They are certainly generous when it comes to those three things and as such, this place is great for all the meat lovers out there. The inside of this restaurant is fairly small though they do fit a decent amount of tables inside. At times, they have a table or two outside as well. Being that the place is pretty new, the place is quite clean as well. It is also a plus that the workers I've interacted with here on several occasions have all been very helpful and nice. The ordering process is quite simple where one just has to select a sandwich, protein, and size. All sandwiches are the same price, so the size is the only determining factor here. They have a decent amount of choices which feature ingredients such as bacon, spinach, peppers, mushroom, and much more. I've tried a couple and have not been disappointed thus far. They really like to be generous with each and every ingredient, so much so that the amount of peppers was almost overwhelming for me. The sandwiches are so packed full of meat. The only thing is that they do start to feel like they're weighing one down around 3/4 of the way in and each bite from then on starts to lose its charm. Your sandwich size options are Regular (5"), Large (10"), or King (10" with 50% more meat.) We ordered two Large sandwiches to gauge their meat portion baseline, & it did not disappoint. The Hoagie is served with lettuce, tomato, & mayo. I added White American Cheese, mushrooms, & grilled onions. A tad juicier than the Gilroy, which we ordered with just meat & cheese. The latter had a good amount of garlic without being overwhelming. Side of hot peppers I asked for were a good acidic complement. Two winners, I'd definitely order these again, but next time with provolone for comparison. We also ordered Philly Cheese Fries, plain (only cheddar cheese sauce, no peppers or onions.) I thought the steak fries were a bit underdone & the whole dish had an obvious greasy taste (I'm well aware cheesesteak fries is a cholesterol-filled nightmare, but the taste was overwhelming.) My bf disagrees & thought there were fine, so you be the judge. As they are newly opened and/or ironing out some kinks and/or understaffed, do give The Cheese Steak Shop your patience. There's a kids menu and my daughter love their regular Philly cheesesteak and their chicken tenders. My wife always ALWAYS gets an extra side of the spicy & sweet peppers with her spinach cheesesteak. Paired with some of the crispiest onion rings and a good amount of ranch, we got ourselves one helluva meal! The owner Fred & his wife Teresa are always so helpful with suggestions and making sure if we needed anything while we wait for our food. With a family size worth of food coming out piping hot in a few minutes or so, it's hard to beat that. The inside is very clean and shiny, like they polished everything each morning. The staff is always very helpful and nice. And there always seem to be good turnover of customers, which is what you'd want to see in a restaurant! Like they're all coming here for a good reason! This is the second time I've have my order messed up with this place. The first time I found a hair half way through my sandwich and I got the run around with some rude girl who wouldn't let me have the manager's name and leave a message for him because I ordered off uber eats. So I contacted uber eats and they gave me a refund for the issue. This time I got someone else's order and never received mine. So again I complained to uber eats and got my refund again but I wanted the cheesesteak shop to let them know that they screwed up my order again and once again no manager available but this time I talked to a nice gentleman and he gave me the manager/owner's name. The guy on the phone seemed very nice and apologized and said that he would talk to his crew about making sure that future orders are correct. We ordered the combo meal, which includes a drink and choice of fries. The cheesesteaks were filled with meat, and the bread was fresh. I went with cheesesteak, sweet peppers, regular peppers, onions, and mushrooms. The steak fries were crisp and freshly made. They perfectly compliment the cheesesteak. The restaurant itself was very clean and welcoming, just like their other locations Prices are reasonable. The service was excellent. It was also nice to see the manager/owner(?) checking on the customers to make sure their orders were correct since this was only their third day open. Would I come back? You can count on it!!
