Wasn't expecting much from This place but boy was I wrong. I ordered the Belly Buster (with no pickles) and it was delicious!!! Not complaints at all!! So flavorful and savory: sweet and spicy all at once. Definitely recommend it!. Only downside was it is a little pricey for chicken ($16 for the half sandwich and fries) and every time I ordered a beer they were out. I ordered 3 different beers before finally giving up and drinking water. Server was great! Food was delicious. I'd say a nice casual spot to come with friends of for a quick bite. read more

Lately my phone orders have been handled by someone named Isabella T. Who has been extremely rude and nothing but a nightmare to deal with. She Gets my orders wrong every single time. The service here was amazing. We came on a Tuesday night around 6:45/7 pm and we were seated within 10 minutes of being there. This menu is so vast. I definitely recommend looking at it online so you can make a choice beforehand! (Kudos to our servers for being patient with me and my dad, we asked them to come back 3 times). The place wasn't so packed, but it was bustling. It was nice to see that the servers could check in on us and wait on the other tables. I appreciate their service! The food was amazing! My dad got the Canadian with an Al pastor taco. He enjoyed it and said that it was very flavorful. As for me, PLEASE heed the warning the waiter gives you with the "spicy" option on the chicken tenders. She said "they're 10/10 spicy, that's okay?" And I foolishly said "yes". The tenders were very flavorful, I enjoyed it. The spice was definitely a creeper and came up in the end. I had ranch and the chipotle mayo to dip in. I ended up stealing the naan bread my dad had and made lil tacos for myself. Would I get it again? No. But I definitely don't regret getting it this time, I just can't handle too much spice. I was super anxious to try The Chicken Koop, so we popped in for lunch today (Saturday, 3/13). We were greeted quickly and put our name on the list requesting a table. It was about 12:30 and there was a steady stream of diners in the outside seating area. I'd say that TCK has done a really nice job making their COVID compliant outside seating cozy and comfortable. We felt appropriately distanced and safe while not feeling isolated either. I decided well in advance that I was ordering the Fried Chicken Sandwich, so I didn't need much of a look at the menu. I opted for the spicy version with fries. My wife settled on the Cuban Chicken plate, and we added some fried cauliflower as a starter. The food arrived quickly - right after our drinks. At first glance, everything looked great. Each entree and starter was plated on small aluminum trays and looked exactly as described. The chicken sandwich was absolutely perfect. Did not disappoint! It had the ideal amount of crunch while being so deliciously juicy. The slaw on top was the perfect compliment and the chipotle pickles were really delicious. Also, they were not kidding with the spice! It was so perfectly spicy that I copped a bit of a sweat. I can definitely handle the heat, and have a high tolerance, but their 'spicy' is legitimately spicy. As great as the sandwich was, the fries were disappointing. They arrived at room temperature and were average at best. I believe that if The Chicken Koop were to really take steps to upgrade their fries, they'd really have something! [SIDEBAR: My personal rule with fries, is that I will only eat them if they're truly worth the calories; otherwise I leave them on the plate.] After a few fries, I left them. My wife's Cuban Chicken was really tasty. I am a huge Cuban food guy, so I am a tough judge, but this was a solid offering. There was more chicken than she could handle, and it was plated with white rice, black beans and fired plantains. Pretty authentic for Southern California! The Fried Cauliflower was... fine. Just okay, to be honest. We'll try a different starter next time. The service staff was really terrific. Very engaging and helpful. One of the two servers helping us was new, but made up for any inexperience with the menu by being quite pleasant. Overall, The Chicken Koop is a rock solid spot for a scrumptious chicken sandwich. If they can work on those fries, it'll be a game changer for them. read more

The side chick sliders are by far my favorite thing to order along with the garlic fries. I've tried a variety of other items like the waffle and sandwiches. Feeling like chicken? Great! But what kind of chicken? Fried? Grilled? Rotisserie? This is the place and they do it well. They're open just late enough to get a late night fix. My one slightly negative remark is the spicy sliders, they're too spicy to enjoy the flavor and I love spicy foods. read more

Our order was wrong in multiple ways and never got our toddlers juice.. at the end of it all they tipped themselves 20% because we were a family of 6, so they automatically apply it to the total.. we have 4 small children and ordered for 5 because of them.. BUT It was automatically applied.. 15% is understandable with an optional addition, but it was 20%! That's why they don't care about the service they are gonna take their tip regardless. read more

The flavors were good, but I think the marinate/brine of the chicken might have had too much salt% in there. The chicken in the chicken sandwich was a thicc boi, but aside from the crispy exterior, the poultry itself had a little crunch; incredibly dense, as if it was machine pressed. The spicy chicken was told to us that it is 8 out 10 spicy umm it has a kick but it is not that spicy to our taste. The chicken fried chicken sandwich was okay. The 1/2 chicken was like a Boston market. I got the original I probably should have gotten the fried or the butter one. The girl recommended to me that original. The cucumber salad is good and the corn is okay. I don't know if any of it was outstanding. The chicken salad was so boring I think I could make a better salad.
