Been here twice in the last 2 months for breakfast and it was great! The waitress and bartender both welcomed us both times (so two separate sets of staff) which is huge. I'm in the restaurant industry so those of us know that our expectations are a tad higher but also more forgiving. I had nothing I had to forgive!!! The waitress had just started and you could tell she was nervous but was so sweet and very accommodating my sons very huge appetite (he ordered so much at different times! Waitress cam took our order then took drink order at table next to us.. took another order from table behind us.. the other two tables recieved their food .. Average bar food. I had the Philly cheese steak and my wife had the pulled pork sandwich. The cheese steak was good but a little small in size. The little basket it comes in makes it a little difficult to eat out of. My wife loved her pulled pork. Her portion size was more to the normal size for the price. This place has serious issues. First off they have a "seat yourself" policy. Great except your sitting, and waiting and waiting. We went there yes it was busy, no one even came by to say we will be with you, tables that were open were still dirty. After about 15 minutes of waiting I went up to someone and was told it will be a few minutes. Thru this 2 waitress's were chatting with a couple at a table. Just a couple tables away from us. another 10 minutes, no one came by.I understand they may be under staffed. BUT after 25 minutes no one even acknowledged us there. If there was a Manager there he should get off his a** and help out at least. The table ahead of use a older man kept trying to get help, no one, he had to get up an get someone, and we were still not helped. Plus the place is dirty, so maybe it was best we did not get to order, walked out will never go back an will tell all about it. Very cute place! Kind of tucked away in a hidden corner. Loved the atmosphere inside. We came at an off time around 2:30 on a Saturday and it was kind of in between lunch and dinner but it was nice to have the place to ourselves. We got the blackened ribeye for an appetizer which went so well with the horseradish, a little on the fatty side but great flavor, then I ordered the chicken tenders and my mom had the club sandwich, I must say the tenders were 10/10. Excellent and HUGE pieces. You don't often see that. My moms club was really different and tasty, it came on a croissant and it was warm and she loved it too! The homemade chips were sooo good. We will definitely be back especially whenever they have their live entertainment going on. Stacy was our waitress and she was awesome and so sweet. Waited 30 minutes for the waitress to collect on my tab. Finally had to back into the kitchen and flag a cook or anyone to pay. Finally after 40 minutes I got another waitress to take my card and gave a 20% tip. I left and in the parking lot in front of my family and friends, accused me of not paying. They didn't ask just flat out accused me of stealing from. So low class. I never heard of a business behaving like this. Will never go again or recommend them. Ok, a place called the Chicken Ranch should have good chicken. I ordered the Chicken Sandwich, rubber, horrible, couldn't even eat it. House made chips, no flavor, pretzels were ok but greasy and the cheese had no flavor. By the way, dispite the fact I sent the chicken sandwich back, they didn't take it off the bill. This food was not good. I ordered prime rib medium rare. I got a burned fatty portion of mostly grissel. There was no horse radish offered. My sister ordered their signature fried chicken and asked for white gravy. It came fried hard and dry with brown gravy and there was no seasoning to any of the food. The vegetable was canned corn. I posted a review the other day and still haven't heard back from management. So I figure I'll keep posting bad reviews until someone finally responds. I visited the Chicken Ranch on Friday night, 2/18/22, with my family for the 1st time. Even though we had reservations it took 30 minutes for our server or hostess to acknowledge us, and bring us menus water and utensils. We were finally asked if we'd like to order, and this was around 5 PM. Our section was filling up, but we had been there long before most of the large parties had been seated. A party of around 10 or 11, who had come in about 20 minutes after us, got their food before we did. We had ordered at least 15 to 20 minutes before them. At 6:30 PM, 1.5 HOURS LATER, our food was finally brought out. It had obviously been sitting for a long time in the kitchen, and it was cold, it was hard, and it was unedible. We complained to our waitress about the food, about how long it took to get our food, and we asked to speak to management. Well, the manager had already left for the evening. And apparently his policy is if people walk out on their food the wait staff must to pay for it. I have to admit that she was not very helpful, and while I didn't want to pay for my food, I didn't want her to be out of pocket. We paid for our food. We didn't eat our food because it was disgusting. This is one of the worst restaurants I have ever experienced. The management is clearly detached, and I'm waiting for a refund. I will continue to write bad reviews about this awful place until I hear from someone who owns this restaurant. What a poor excuse for a food service institution. HORRIBLE!!! read more

We started off right by being greeted and seated wonderfully. Drinks we served in a timely fashion, appetizers came out followed directly by lunch. Which let me tell you the dinner entrees do not start until 4 p.m which I thought was an odd feature considering that it was passed noon. Buffalo shrimp was okay, wings were not good as they tasted real fatty. French dip was dry meat on top of toast, real dry. pulled pork was the same, at least the waitress discounted the One sandwich that I thought was awful, Philly cheesesteak was eatable, ranch .89 cents extra for clumpy ranch was real disappointing. I would not recommend or go back. I was really wanting a whiskey on rocks but didn't attempt because our waitress was way overwhelmed. She was Nice , but overwhelmed forsure. FUN! We were hesitant about eating there after reading some reviews but wanted to see how the Karaoke was, turned out the the food was really good! I had the pork chop special which was recommended by staff (Wyatt) and it was awesome! (Even the presentation was good) our group also had burger and fish all of which was reported to be very good. I tried my wife's French Fries and they were fresh and cooked perfectly. Karaoke was excellent as well with a very good PA system and a fun group of singers. They have Live Music there FIVE NIGHTS A WEEK! Talked to the staff and some of the groups coming up we have heard before & are very good bands! Well, the bar person was nice! But let's get past that and get to what's real. The menu needs help! Entrees are not available during lunch but no where is it mentioned. Some happy hour appetizers are not discounted. The I went for simple patty melt - no taste and choose the fries and they were krinkle cut frozen fries. This could be a hot spot I in the Sun City area but menu needs work, there are things that need cleaning up. 8 of us showed up for breakfast at 10am to the doors locked! We waited until 10:10am at which time 2 people in our party attempted to open the doors which were still locked. The chairs were still up on the tables and the patio was locked with a chain.I just called the restaurant this evening to inquire about the opening time. The manager I spoke with said he was the opening manager and he precisely opened at 10am. I don't know where he was because we were there standing at the door! BAD BUSINESS!! Just been in business a couple months so thought we would wait to try it out. Obviously do not go in here around 4-4:30 p.m. or after, maybe safe to go between 1 and 3 pm., there was no one to seat you, the dining room was empty but bar area packed, dining area had 1 table with 2 people, waited and waited to be greeted and seated. Server found us, he asked us right away about drinks, asked for water and 2 decaf coffees. And right after that the mngr came by and asked if we had been waited on, at that time it was too soon to tell her anything but, yes he came by, but no water and no coffee and 15 minutes. It just goes on and on. Did not bring the water, server Wyatt who was friendly, but overwhelmed, came by finally and said the coffee grounds somehow dropped into the pot of coffee he was making and has to make a new one. Is this not also a breakfast place that serves lots of coffee? The menu is 2 sides, has a good amount of choices, breakfast,apps, salads on one and sandwiches, melts,baskets and bar list. The menu did not have any fish selection seeing that everything else was offered. The chicken items did not thrill me, not many. The only fish is on Friday for a fish fry. We started with Fried Cheese wedges, 6 triangles of provolone chees with a tiny cup of marinara. They were tasty and just enough to start a meal. Ordered the Brisket entre, comes with choice of soup or salad,we chose soup ,veggies,baked,mashed or rice. Chose the baked. Also went with the half Rack ribs they called lip smackin with homemade secret bbq sauce, went with the mashed. Well after about 20 minutes no soup, he finally came by and said they are out of soup. It was only 4:45, server ws in a tizzy and did not even bring up giving us the salad instead. Just told him forget about since they are preparing our meal. The food came, no mashed put a baked on the plate, the server was going to take about 10 minutes after that 20 minute wait with the no soup. A baked was on my plate and server was going to take my whole plate back and who knows how long that would take to get mashed. Told him to bring me the mashed. It was cold and lots of gravy poured in the bowl. Small amount of veggies on both plates, brisket was dry needed some bbq sauce, ribs had a good amount of meat on them and were good but could not taste the bbq sauce. We were trying to find the server to ask for butter and sour cream never came by, wanted bbq sauce never came by, refills were slim. He finally came by 20 minutes later brought 2 tiny containers of bbq sauce once we were just about done eating. The rib plate was small, no room to put rib bones, had 2 slices of texas toast, not interested with that, and had to put that on the actual table to make room on the plate to cut the ribs. Wonder what plating is used for a full rack. Mngr never came by, she was busy waiting tables in the bar area. People were flocking in and no one greeting or seating them. just going and sitting down and confusing the 2 servers even more. 4 people waited so long once they sat down that a lady went to the kitchen and asked for a server, who turned out to be the manager at that point. The food was so so, they really need to step up the staff and the communication with the staff. The other server was pretty much taking the tables, our server was only doing two of us and a table with 8 and kept running by the bar to the kitchen all the time making lots of trips for just one item, never coming by us. I think this place needs more time to get everything in order and especially get it together to handle the flow of winter visitors that have flocked in. All about customer service. What probably should have been maybe a 30 minute meal became a 1 1/2 hour meal with all the waiting to do. And the Thursday night Karaoke people were there setting up in the dining area right next to our booth. We were not staying. Glad the bar crowd goes for the 3-6pm happy hour . Not saying we would not try it again, but not for a long time. Their breakfast menu which is a long one and looks actually pretty good, says 8 a.m., but appears that is only on the weekend. Otherwise opens at 10 am during the week. Kind of late for breakfast crowds but serves that until 2 pm. Maybe they are just trying to do too much too fast. Get some help! Well...here goes nothing. We arrived at around 5:30 and the place was fairly empty. There were two groups in front of us waiting to be seated and no host/hostess in sight. Another group came in after us waiting to be seated and it was getting pretty crowded up front. Finally after about 5 minutes of standing around someone came up to the front and started seating people. We are seated and the hostess takes our drink order. After a few minutes of waiting another girl (I'm guessing our waitress) comes up to take our drink order. We tell her that the hostess already grabbed our order and she just walks off a seemingly annoyed. Our drinks finally come and the hostess walks off again without taking our order. Another gentleman who looked like he came from the kitchen came to our table to ask if we had been taken care of yet. The hostess finally comes back for a third time and takes our food order. While we had her there, my husband had to send back his water because it had a very strange soapy/chemical taste. I tried it myself and it was bad, it almost tasted like bleach. Strike one! How can you mess up water?? He ended up ordering a sprite instead, along with the brisket. I went with the french dip sandwich. I didn't notice our food taking an unreasonable amount of time to come out, but boy was it bad. My husband had ordered his brisket with the sauce on the side and it came smothered in BBQ sauce. His mushy veggies had the same weird chemical taste as the water and his brisket was super overcooked and dry. The meat on my French dip was extremely thick and chewy. Applebee's has a better French dip. The hostess noticed my husband's food came with the sauce on the meat and she offered to have the kitchen "take the sauce off". Didn't even offer a new meal. My husband declined because we just wanted to finish and get out of there. In the end, she ended up taking his sprite off the bill which was only a couple bucks vs what he paid for his terrible meal. Mind you, he also only ordered the sprite because their water was disgusting. Seems like that should have been free anyway. Long story short, save yourself the trip here. The food is mediocre at best and the service is nonexistent. Not good for a brand new business. read more

Tonight was a bad night. The place was packed. The chef is normally excellent... we went for the Fish Fry. The fish is always good, fried grilled or blackened. It took forever to order, and longer to get our food. We were a party of 8. The Clam Chowder was cold, they told us they would give us Cole slaw instead. It was 20 mins to get our food...2 people were served at a time with more than a 5 minute lapse between food delivery. It took over 15 mins to get all our meals. Then it took 15 mins more to get butter and sour cream for our baked potatoes which got cold. There was 1 piece of fish on the plate..normally 2 to start. We waited and ordered more fish and it took 10 mins to get more and we only got 1/2 a piece. We have already been there for 2 hours and decided not to stay any longer to get more fish. It was supposed to be All you Can Eat fish fry. It turned out to be an All we want to give you fish fry. Better luck next time. read more

We went last evening with a group of 50 people. I belong to the Boomers. I was excited about trying a new place and close to home. The staff couldn't keep up. Several actually walked out. We couldn't even get a water glass. It was constant chaos!! The restaurant knowing they booked a large group were caught with their pants down. Several that ordered a salad was quite bad. The tomatoes were soft and soggy. Many returned their food and left. I ordered half price appetizers. I was lucky to be served.Never once was my drink refilled. Because of all the failures they lost many possible repeat customers. If you are considering the chicken ranch for a large party my advice would be look elsewhere. read more

the first impression was good it's a nice place with a seemingly exceptional menu. i ordered what j thought was a brisket sandwich but looked more like a McRib and definitely tasted worse, shake was powdery, our cheese wedges came out not even fried. the chicken had absolutely no flavor although was juicy it tasted like old oil ,the chicken tenders where by far the worst i have ever encountered they were wet and rubbery not to mention it took over an hour for our food to arrive and us and another table were the only ones in the dining room .we watched 2 different parties come in and sit and leave after 10 min . First visit. Like the decor. Young waiter guy was great, almost too great. He did come back often to check on us which is good. Almost seemed too often but we were there for a while and it wasn't busy so he had the time. Few of us had the fried chicken. With a name Chicken Ranch, you'd think the chicken had to be awesome. But I was wrong. Meat was cooked good and it was juicy, BUT, they need to have a seasoning in that deep fry batter. Regular plain old flour batter is boring and bland, just like this chicken. The fries were really good, in fact, the fries had more seasoning than the chicken. A few of us all had the same thought on the chicken. Needs seasoning. I'd love to spend time in their kitchen and help improve the flavors. I plan on going back and trying a few more things before making the decision to go elsewhere. I do wish the entrée menu was available at lunch, didn't find that out until after we decided what to order. If I could , I would give this review a 0 (or less) but one star was the lowest score I was allowed! A group of us went to The Chicken Ranch on a Wednesday! What started out as 10 ended up as 14. At first, there was no one at the door to assist us. When we did find someone, we were told that they could accommodate us! We placed our orders! It took us over a half hour to get water! Then, the waiter spilled a glass of water all over one of us! The guy was soaked but waited patiently for over a half hour for his food stating that he could not stand his wet pants anymore before leaving ! We had been there over an hour, when the salads started to arrive! Most of them did not match our orders. Some of us just took what was brought out to us! My husband and I got medium rare prime rib that was burnt! We ate it anyway because we were starved! We even ate our cold baked potato! We were lucky because at least we had food. Others that ordered got over cooked food also. I watched as many of us paid our bills for this poor excuse for food with cash and left! Yes, we even had trouble getting them to get our bills paid! I was told by my husband that someone went back the next day and talked to the management about this. He was told that we were a party of 14 without a reservation! This I say to that management, you committed to our party the moment you said that you could handle it! You gave us bad service as we'll as bad food over a course of a 21/2 hour stay that mainly involved trying to get our food! Two people in our party never saw their food!
