We came here during lunch, before shopping at the outlets. We had a large group and only waited about 5-10 minutes to be seated even though they were pretty busy. The decor of the restaurant suggests that it is a lot nicer than the outside appearance, which looks more like a chain style restaurant. I ordered the southwest salad and for $8 it was really pretty tasty. They make their salad dressings homemade and I really liked the ranch. Make sure you make reservations. When we came in the door, that was the first question I was asked. When I said no, there was a slight huff made by the hostess. It still did not take to long to seat us as we only waited for about three or four minutes. The atmosphere in this restaurant was very relaxing with dim lighting and warm colors painted on the walls. It was clean and seemed very organized. Once seated we met our waiter who was very professional. He explained everything to us and was very patient during our experience. Once we ordered our food, it took about 12 minuets before our salads came out but we did receive bread a little before the salads came out. The salads were outstanding and had many different types of greens in it. The lettuce was crisp and was chilled at just the right temperature. Our main dishes came out about 15 minutes later. I ordered the Pork Chops with a baked potato. and was very impressed with the dish. The seasoning was very minimal only seasoned by salt and pepper. My wife ordered the Prime Rib with a baked potato. We had to send her meal back as the Prime Rib was not medium well as she had ordered and the baked potato was not done all the way in the middle. Once she received her meal the second time, it was cooked as ordered. I was impressed with the fact that the baked potatoes came standard with butter, sour cream, cheese, bacon, and chives. All in all the meal was good but really did not top other steak houses that I have tried. The potential is there to be a great steak house but I just did not see it during this visit. The prices were a little high for the steaks as the cheapest steak was around $19.00. Quality food with excellent service

Started with a strawberry sangria which was perfectly fruity but not too sweet. The bread came out hot and fluffy with a butter that had a sweet honey flavor to it. I ordered a medium rare ribeye which was cooked exactly how I like it. The loaded baked potato accompanied that well and wasn't dry. My date ordered the medium rare prime rib which was also cooked to perfection and very tender and flavorful. The service was fast and friendly. A great place for a nice steak dinner. read more

This was our go to place for many years when we visited. I understand COVID places a burden on restaurants, but this place has given up. We made reservations, had to wait an additional 20 minutes due to short handed servers. Okay, understandable. But then it just continued to get worse. Our waitress was unfamiliar with specials. My wife ordered her meal from the standard menu and when it arrived, presented by a different person, she asked who had the fish special. We asked what the special was and this employee told us it was a fish entree that my wife would have loved. However, we were never advised it existed. My ribeye was hands down the worst cut I've ever received. It was cooked correctly, medium rare, but full of grizzle. Nowhere near what I've come to enjoy in the past. Just awful. We paid the check and upon leaving I asked to speak with the manager. I advised him of our experience. He seemed uninterested. There are far too many other restaurants in the area to even bother with this establishment anymore. I'll continue to patronize other Chop Houses, but not this one. What a shame that they've given up. Management is critical in this industry and in this location, nonexistent. read more

We had never visited the Chop House until early December this year. We have been coming to the Smokies for 30 years. We decided it was time. We made a reservation and were seated quickly. Our server was friendly, but seemed as though she was in a rush even though the restaurant was only moderately busy. I was with my husband and our daughter. We each ordered the filet mignon. My husband and I ordered our steaks medium rare and our daughter ordered hers cooked to medium. My steak came out a little charred on the edges, but I cut into it anyway. It was cooked to well done and maybe even a little beyond well done. I really don't know why the kitchen let that plate come out to me like that. We let the server know and she let the kitchen know. In the meantime I worked on my (giant) baked potato and sautéed mushrooms which were very good. It wasn't long before she brought me a completely new steak and another baked potato and mushrooms ! This steak was better, but some places were rare and some were medium rare. We boxed the potato and mushrooms, no way could I eat all of that. I did eat the steak though. The bread was good and they had a good wine and beer list. We would try this restaurant again. read more

Friendly staff, great food and attentive service sums it up. I ordered the 10oz sirloin with mac and cheese and it was by far the best steak I've had in a long time. It was cooked absolutely perfectly to my liking(medium). The mac and cheese had a crispy top with a delicious creamy inside. We decided to make a reservation at Chop House be because we had a party of 10 to celebrate our parent's anniversary. The reviews seemed like it was a good choice, unfortunately that wasn't really the case. They put a round and a square table together and squished us in the corner- the restaurant was not crowded. The waitress said multiple times how she didn't like the table set up... umm fix it then instead of complaining to us. A couple of us really enjoyed their meal- but most of us it wasn't worth the price. Mine & my sister's shrimp was over cooked as well as the fettuccine that it came with. My mom ordered her steak medium and it looked well done. Maybe this is considered an "upscale" restaurant for this area but quite honestly I would not recommend it. read more

Amazing food! The steak was one of the best I've ever had. I literally blew out a left nutt and had to go to the hospital. The good news is they brought the delicious cuisine straight to my bedside with a Christmas story, and surprisingly still hot. Excellent experience. Katie was our waitress. She was friendly and helpful. We mentioned the temperature was a bit cold and were concerned about the recent ecoli lettuce situation. She reassured us the lettuce was safe. Then the manager came over to inform us that they raised the temperature of the air conditioner so it would not be so cold and he also reassured us the lettuce was safe. We ordered the trout and the prime rib and a salad. Everything was excellent. Cooked to perfection. The meal came with bread and butter. We had a real nice conversation with Katie. Our first time visiting the Chop House this year. We go to the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area every year and enjoy trying restaurants that we can't try back home. My wife had a ribeye that was tender and cooked perfectly and I had a prime rib sandwich with some excellent horseradish on an onion roll. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE at Chop House in Pigeon Forge at Five Oak Outlet tonight! So sad because it's been our favorite out-of-town escape. We had a 45-minute wait. After 25 minutes I turned to the greeters right where we were standing to see if we were close to being seated. A black-haired woman and a Hispanic-looking young man looked annoyed that I had asked and said 5 parties were ahead of us. At about 50 minutes they seated a party of 8 behind us--even though a booth had been vacant for a while. Then the greeters began to slowly clear a large table. Then a couple was seated even though our name was at the top of the list. Then a party of 4. An older lady who appeared to be a manager (earphones and clipboard) passed us over and over and looked over to see us questioning why we weren't being seated. But she just kept a smile on her face and walked off. At that point my husband flagged down a manager who looked related to the first young man. He didn't seem to care at all. When my husband asked if he'd like for us to call the corporate office, he nonchalantly said, "I'd rather you didn't." What did we do wrong? We were never rude.
