Thai Chili Chicken Chow Mein (No Spicy)

Food was so good and the quality is great for the price! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Such a vibe at night with the lights on.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Would definitely come again

$12 for a large Thai Chili Chicken Chow Mein泰椒雞肉炒麵 (comes with free add on of soup). Incredible value!

Honestly I think this truck smacks. At $11 for the OG bandit chow mein (comes with chicken), you get a hefty portion that can feed two and tastes good. If they have it in stock, you can add on a free soup too which is also really flavorful. Each time i've come, the serving looks slightly different.. sometimes more veggies and sometimes less.. but the signature taste stays the same. :)

I cannot be convinced this food was cooked made to order. The noodles were dry and the seasoning was stale, the shrimp were stale and the dish tasted like a 2 day old reheat. I tried to pick the shrimp out, but they were rubbery. The radish were the freshest thing on the plate. I purchased from the truck parked outside of USC Village, though I wish I hadn't.

AMAZING!!!! Full of flavor, generous portion, great service, just really good! This is my 3rd time having this place and it just doesn't disappoint me at all. Will drive all the way from Carson, just to come eat here.

Flavorful. Fast. Good value. This food truck in Little Tokyo has the most amazing chow mein options that are packed with flavor and come in a portion that is incredible value! I got the spicy chili chicken this time but my favorite option is the spicy shrimp chow mein. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Service is fast and if you come here at night in Little Tokyo, especially on the weekend, you'll get the best late night street food vibes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

If you're ever walking around little Tokyo, chances are you've see this chow mein truck. They're usually parked on 2nd street right across from somi somi. For only $7 you get this heaping amount of chow mein. So flavorful with lots of chicken and has the perfect amount of heat. They really load you up and it's easily shareable. The workers are all very nice and shoutout to the lady working who gave me a free drink! Definitely plan to come back.

Looking for a great place to pick up a quick bite in Little Tokyo look for the truck with all the stickers on it. The truck has a neon Bandit Chow Mein on it right on 2nd street. Plenty of noodles to choose from. You order from a kiosk. Couple of lunch specials for $6.99 which is a good deal if you ask me. I ordered the Thai Chili Chicken Chowmein. Great flavor and very spicy and it's a great portion for lunch for the price you're paying. The noodles were still hot when I got back to my desk too. I'll be back to try something else from this truck.

This was genuinely the best chow mein I've ever had in my life. It was rich, flavorful, and the noodles are perfectly cooked. The only thing I would say is that I got the Thai chili tiger shrimp chow mein and the shirt came with the shell on and was incredibly hard to peel. Also they were out of the free soup and the Thai iced tea but that also could be due to coming later at night so factor that in if you'd like those things on the menu.

Stumbled upon this food truck while walking around little Tokyo. I was intrigued because the photos on the truck look good and because of their Yelp reviews! I ordered the Lazy Dragon Chow Mein. It was good, but didn't blow me out of the water. My expectations were a bit higher due to their great reviews. I don't know if I would get it again but I am interested in trying their other noodles! They do give you A LOT of noodles so the price can't be beat!

This was a nice flavor excursion. I'm a sucker for for noodles, and this place hit the spot. We tried the bandit, chicken noodles as well as the lazy dragon . Both were delicious, especially with a side of fried egg, soy sauce, and Sriracha packets. I will admit, although delicious , the noodles weren't as moist as I had imagined, they would be. It was a good and the workers were nice enough to remake my wife's order because it was a little spicy for her.

As soon as my bf saw this truck while we were in the area, we knew it was going to be our dinner! Haven't seen this truck the last few times we've been so we had to try it since we both love noodles!! They have a small seating/table area in front but too busy since people are walking by, ordering, and just crowding around. After we ordered, I walked over to the cafe around the corner for outside seating and grabbed a table while my bf waited for our food. Didn't take long at all and we were both very excited. We tried their Thai Lime Tea which was ABSOLUTELY amazing. It still had that strong Thai tea flavor but without any cream!! It was still sweet but the lime flavor really adds to the overall taste. It almost tasted like a Mexican watermelon lollipop drink. Like Tajin without the spice. It was so delicious and we loved it! He got the bandit chow mein with egg, super delicious and I got the Tom yum shrimp chow mein with egg as well. I got an extra lime which was perfect for me but they forgot my egg that I paid extra for. Bummer but we were both enjoying it too much to walk the few steps to complain. Really hoping they will come to the San Fernando Valley, specifically Granada Hills Grub Fest one day!! IG: @ammysalamii

Thai chili noodles, pork broth soup, lime Thai tea all super flavorful!

Tasty food at an affordable price. Huge portions and friendly service. We enjoyed the Thai chili noodles, Bandit noodles, and the lime Thai tea was super refreshing - so good in fact I went back and ordered a second. The staff was really friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is some seating outside the food truck or you can head over to USC village and eat in front of the fountain.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Highly recommend checking them out!

The sea urchins one is creamy and VERY RICH. The cream sauce bend in really well with the sea urchins. But definitely not something you would order if you are on a weaker stomach. The duck udon is flavorful with plenty of meat. The soup pair perfectly with the udon as well. There was a line outside before it opened. But not too bad. Udon noodles were good, but it was not excellent. It did have light chewy texture. BUT in comparison to Meiji Seimen, it fell short, really short! I was disappointed. BEEF BOWL It was delicious! Beef was tender and moist and loved the caramelized onion too. Rice was delicious too, not dry nor mushy. Served with pickled red ginger. A very satisfying bowl. Sat at the bar, so watched them make udon from scratch, which was nice. WAIT LIST There was a line when I got there, just as it opened. It wasn't long, but everyone wrote their name down on a wait list. There's a sheet of paper placed on the table outside. Please write your name down ASAP, as that will help in making sure that you will grab a seat. Also, the lines are disorganized too, so it's best to write down your name, so no one cuts in front of you. It is a small restaurant. Limited seats. CUSTOMER SERVICE It was okay. Everyone got in the restaurant in the order they came in. Service was quick and there were no delays in taking orders. The server came by quickly and dropped off the check as she saw that I was nearly finished with my meal. PARKING Parked at Joe's Autoparks. It was $15! I did not know until after I paid the ticket. Very difficult to find parking in this area, so not many options unless you want to walk really far, back to your car in 90 degree heat. There was another parking garage next to Joe's, but the price was the same! Would I come back again? Not sure. Given that the udon wasn't what I expected, it may be my last time here. Also, parking sucks.

Don't let the line of people outside, or the lack of parking, deter you. The food is worth a bit of a wait and they have good efficiency with turning over tables. The beef bulgogi really stands out for me. The peppers and mushrooms elevate the dish beyond the onions and beef I'm used to at most Korean places. It makes the dish something you can confidently order as a standalone meal. But it was also a sizable portion. So if you are willing to share your food, the dish works well if you want room to try another item. The vegetarian bibimbap came with tofu so you can still get your protein. I didn't personally eat this dish but I'm a stranger to these parts and this was the dish that helped my group discover this restaurant. So it comes highly regarded. If you are looking for something a bit different, and don't need the crispy rice cooked to the hot stone pot, the Yulmu Bibimbap is a great option. The barley rice gives a unique feel to the dish and the bean paste stew made the dish more interactive than most. The stew was bubbling hot and was packing a punch as well. So be prepared for both kinds of heat with that dish. But definitely good, and well worth the deviation if you want to stray from the classics that this place nails every time. As for the food, maybe my expectations were a little too high because of all the hype. It wasn't bad, but it didn't quite live up to what I was expecting. The kalguksu noodles seemed to be made in-house, but surprisingly, they weren't as chewy as I expected, and I could taste and smell the flour quite strongly. That said, I really liked how the meal started with barley rice and yeolmu kimchi. It was a simple touch, but it made a great first impression. The bossam was pretty good as well. I also really liked the presentation of the bossam. The way everything was arranged by color made the plate look beautiful and very appetizing Overall, the food was decent, but the kalguksu itself was a bit disappointing compared to what I had expected.

I actually became aware of the existence of this restaurant *because* they had a happy hour sign out in front, advertising, among other things, $4 salmon poke "tacos" (which was definitely actually a tostada, but still), and $3 nigori sake to go with it, which sounded pretty bomb - when I passed by the sign on my way to an event at Death & Co nearby, I took note of it but wasn't interested in food. However, when I left that event, an event I thought was going to provide a lot more food than it actually did, I absolutely *was* interested in food, and remembered that the sign advertised not only a traditional happy hour (open until 6 weekdays, 2:30-5:30 Saturday/Sunday), but also the same prices during a reverse happy hour (8 to close weekdays, 9 to close on the weekend). Given it was, at that moment, just after 8 on a Wednesday, I knew exactly where I was going to get the second half of my dinner from. Funny enough, I will say, the salmon poke that drew me in, was just... good. Don't get me wrong, if I were offered them for free, I'd eat at *least* a dozen. They were quite tasty - also like 2 bites worth of food (so eating a dozen of them would not be remotely difficult to do.) Salmon poke is wonderful, but if I wanted poke, I'd go find a poke place - even $4 felt a bit pricey for the size (they're $6 when it isn't happy hour), so I'm glad I decided to also try their karaage. Their karaage is BOMB - some of the best I've had, honestly. $7 for a 4-piece order of their karaage, by contrast, feels like a very reasonable price, and $5 (during happy hour) an absolute steal. Great karaage, great sauce, super fulfilling. The happy hour on karaage would be enough of a draw by itself - but separate from that, so would the $3 happy hour on sake, including both a regular house cold sake and a nigori. As you can see from the picture, they also intentionally overpour their sake, which is not only a very pretty presentation, but also an impressive amount of sake for $3 (heck, for DTLA, a pretty impressive amount of sake even at their normal $5 price). They also have $6 happy hour shochu/sake/juice cocktails that looked pretty good, though I didn't try one. Service was great, too - sometimes you can tell a restaurant is less excited to serve someone who clearly just came in for a drink and a snack, but that was not my experience here. Verdict is, I definitely want to come back and try their ramen sometime, but I would definitely make sure to do it either before or after their prime dinner hour, to take advantage of happy hour pricing. (And I would definitely get more of that karaage as a side. I will probably also make a point to do so as a snack, subsequent to any future events I go to in the area that end around 8 on a weekday, as well, for as long as that happy hour remains such a draw, price-wise.)

Their noodles have a bounciness and chewiness that hold the broth you dip your noodles in. I do wish the broth was hotter because the noodles are traditionally served cold. Every time I've been there hasn't been a wait. Price (4/5): To compensate for taste I do think the price needs to be lowered a bit. The tsukemen to me was definitely worth it. I ordered their signature Daikoku Ramen which was very flavorful and filling, just wish there had been more meat! My husband got the poke bowl with salmon and tuna which is a great dish for those on the protein grind. Service was mixed, they brought some dishes out immediately and then others in our group had to wait longer to get their food. Overall food was tasty and I would go back.
