We have visited several times and love the food and the views! The service is excellent as well. We will be back!

We went here for dinner our last night of vacation . It was very busy but they had a good system and we were seated well before our expected wait time that was quoted. I mentioned first available for table preference and it worked out because we were seated next to the water . The service was prompt and informative . The menu had a good variety to choose from. We got the crab nachos , which was huge and tasty. My husband got the surf and turf tacos which were great he loved that there wasn't a ton of filler in them and they had a kick. I got the buttered lobster roll which they give you the option to be served hot or cold .I asked for hot and it was delicious and buttery with large pieces of lobster. The bill was inexpensive to what we paid elsewhere . it's right on the marsh-walk so great location. read more

So we went to The Claw House after seeing their happy hour food menu and I'm so glad we did. We were told we could sit at outside bar and order from the happy hour food menu, which happened to be right there on the water. I LOVED IT!!! They had a beer garden and nice tables. We ordered the clams Casino dip (very salty), oysters Rockefeller (delicious), 6 raw (so good I came back for more the next day) and crab nachos (FABOLOUS)!!!. The oysters on the half shell and crab nachos were so amazing we brought friends the next day and they got the nachos again!! I would highly recommend coming here and having happy hour on the water. What an amazing lunch!! We sat on the patio we had an amazing 180° view. I had the lobster rolls I choose to have one or one hot one cold what a perfect choice. Our service name was Kerri she was fantastic. My husband had the fish and chips and he really liked them he thought that the fish was very light and flaky. We hope we get to sit in Kerri section next time she was great. read more

Our first time at The Claw House and we weren't disappointed. We actually went to Wicked Tuna first but we couldn't get anyone to wait on us. They couldnt use the excuse that they were short staffed., when you have about 8 wait staff congregating at the hostess booth. The Claw House was a whole new experience. Everything started fine. We had a party of 7, sat on the enclosed porch almost by ourselves and our first drinks and appetizers arrived quickly. Our drink refills were a little slow but got to us eventually. We watched every table get seated, order, and get served before we got our food after an hour and a half wait. Our waitress offered to take off the pretzel bites from our check. A $4 appetizer on a $200 check. Really? That's the best you've got? When she brought us our check, the waitress put it on the table and as she turned to walk away said "sorry you had a terrible experience." Thanks for recognizing that, but why not do more to fix it? We ate in three "shifts" because the food came out in three separate runs with long stretches of time between them. The crab cakes were good, but the lettuce wraps were not worth the price at all. The grilled seafood plate was fine except the fish was cold. Overall, not a fabulous experience. It had great potential, but really poor service. read more

My wife and so researched where to go for our date night while in Myrtle beach, while my parents watched the kids. We both read the reviews and were excited about the Claw House. The cocktails were all sugar and soda (even on their specialties). Our waitress was pleasant and helpful but was super busy. They were out of most of the Cabernet wines. The lettuce wrap crab and lobster rolls were a tasty appetizer. The other appetizers were meh. We both got the surf and turf. Apparently only includes turf and the surf is extra - disappointing! The NY Strip steak had no taste. My wife was disappointed with her Filet. The French fries were tasty. The waitress was somewhat knowledgeable on what was gluten free. The fried seafood looked yummy, but definitely not gluten free. This restaurant was just meh. read more

Four of us ate there including my four year old granddaughter. Got two cocktails, a Pepsi and a lemonade. I had a half dozen James River oysters on the half shell. They were good but they served with just a red sauce and horse radish. No mignonette sauce for the delicate oysters. Also got two dozen steamed clams for the table with plenty of butter. Clams got cold fast but were tender. My daughter got the drunken mussels and said they were great. You can sit at the bar, inside, covered outside with open windows and ocean view or outside no cover. At first we were told no steamed clams any more on the menu. I ordered a whole lobster with the expectation that the lobster would be cracked for me and the green mud seam cleaned out. It was a mistake! I was wearing nice clothes and wasn't thinking. What a mess. I'm used to eating my lobsters at Galyn's in Bar Harbor, Maine. They always crack the lobsters for you before serving and clean them out so that all you have to do is open them up and eat. Galyn's quite frankly spoiled me. For future reference I asked my waitress if they would crack the lobster and clean it out upon request. The answer came back negative. So my suggestion is if you're dressed in nice clothes and don't want to get lobster juice all over you I would strongly recommend ordering something else from the menu. Two years ago we went to this restaurant. We enjoyed our food but our card was charged $100 more than the bill. When we looked at the receipt after going back and spending an hour to discuss the discrepancy of the bill, it was clear the tip had been changed. We won't be going back. Be sure if you go you check what your card is charged. The manager made it right but spending an hour trying to get this corrected left s bad taste in our mouths.. pun intended. A great spot, both for it's beer garden and people watching on the marsh, and a nice dinner of seafood. We got the drunken mussels, oysters Rockefeller, fried cod bites, clam chowder, and a caesar salad. I enjoyed their Happy hour very much! My waitress Beth was awesome, took the time to explain the different options and so I started with 6 raw oysters and 6 steamed chilled ahrip. The oysters were local and very small, but the shrimp we're super large (as promised!) And delicious! Excellent cocktail sauce, and lots of fresh lemon. They also came with vinegar for the oysters??? Not sure about that and didn't try. Next round I asked for the NY blue points, which were spot on. Now going for the ousters Rockefeller. Promised to be great! Late lunch at the bar on a Saturday afternoon. At dinner time this place has always been packed when I've stopped in. This time of day is a nice change. Shared the crab stack appetizer. Nice combo of flavors and chunks of fresh crab. Forgot to take a pic, but others have posted some. Large portion. Ordered a crab cake sandwich with cole slaw and fish n chips. Hubs is a bit of an expert on fish n chips, and super picky. I've seen him pull the breading off almost every piece of fish he's eating, and leave many of the pieces behind BC they were too greasy. At the Claw House, he literally ate everything besides about 3 Inches of breading lol. There was no grease on the plate and the fish didn't look greasy at all. There was a huge pile of fries, so a lot of those didn't get eaten, but they were really good (thin). The crab cake was respectable. Lots of crab, a bit over cooked on the outside, well-seasoned, and a bit too much bread filler. I've had better, but I've had much worse. Service is good, friendly staff and do a good job, even when busy. If you like watching oysters being shucked, sit at the end of the bar by the window. They shuck them behind a class partition. Looking forward to coming back for AYCE snow crab on Monday. read more

It's a tourist trap and we have had several bad experiences here. But we kept coming back because their Wedge Salad was really REALLY good. Well today's wedge was like an 1/8 of a head of lettuce. Not just ours, saw two other salads go by the same size. I get inflation is hitting everything, but seriously you are trying to skimp on lettuce? We ate here for our last night on vacation. The hostess seated us immediately outside on the covered patio. I am not excited about being seated near a waiter/bus station at any restaurant. I believe it takes away from the experience. The waitress was friendly, but not attentive. I will agree that The Claw House should be held to a higher standard in regards to food quality and service when the prices are so high. I didn't feel that standard was reached in either area. The service wasn't bad, but not great. We ordered the Crab Nachos, 2 Lobster Mac n Cheese, and the Naked Lobster Roll. The Crab Nachos were outstanding, Mac n Cheese good, and the Lobster Roll wasn't worth the price. (Approx. $108 food/4 waters) The view was exceptional. It's a nice spot for a special occasion, but many other places in the area will provide great food/service/better prices. So take your pick on what you are looking to eat and willing to pay. read more

Looking for a place on the water with amazing food? The claw house is your spot! We were visiting Myrtle Beach and stopped by The Claw House for lunch. It's a large restaurant with indoor, partially/covered outdoor and completely outdoor seating. It's located right on the dock and has tons of parking. We started with the crab nachos and they are to DIE for. We were starving and needed something quick before our meals and they are the best seafood nachos on the beach! Tons of crab meat, queso, fresh mangos and more. As a group we also had the seafood Mac and cheese, the crab cake sandwich, salad and tuna ceviche. Every single menu item was so tasty and came out very quickly. This is a prime location for amazing food that can be ended with a walk along the dock! 10/10 would recommend visiting the claw house and getting the crab nachos! read more

Came here on a recommendation from a recent 'local'. She specifically praised the lobster rolls. My daughter ordered the lobster mac & cheese. It was bland and goopy. Please revise your recipe and focus more on quality over quantity. Her friend ordered the surf and turf tacos. She only ate one and gave the other to me and I could understand why she didn't like them. The turf part was a very heavily spiced meat which was dry and of low quality. The combination of shrimp and mystery meat was not working. Her friend liked the oysters on the half shell however I didn't try one. Now for the lobster roll: it was probably the best one I've had since I had the lobster roll to end all lobster rolls in Maine back in the 80s. That being said, however it wasn't nearly as good as the one I had in Maine. I keep looking. Hostess at the front had no personality but our waitress was very nice and fun. Great view to the inland waterway. If you're looking for great seafood in Murrells Inlet, I probably would go to Lee's Inlet kitchen. I would probably not go back.. read more

It's possibly the best seafood restaurant my family has ever eaten at. Our server BETH WAS THE BEST! The restaurant's ambience is perfect for a first date, anniversary, dinner out, or catching a game. There was a small wedding reception being held when we arrived and the staging was classy and delicate. The food was fresh and delicious. We had one dozen clams, calamari fingers, fish & chips, Claw Mac & cheese, and grilled seafood platter. For dessert we shared red velvet cake and key lime pie. The serving sizes were large enough that we had to box up left overs. The calamari fingers are the freshest I've ever tasted. The scallops were soooooooo good. The desserts were perfect. When visiting Myrtle Beach, you will get 100 seafood recommendations - definitely visit The Claw House. This was the best way to end a Myrtle Beach visit. read more

Located in Murrells Inlet by the Marsh Walk, this is an accessible seafood powerhouse. Mussels - plump and juicy. Corn and crab soup - delicious - I am so grateful I only had a cup. It was a little thick and the potato chunks were a little large, but the flavor of the stock, complemented by just the right amount of heat, was excellent. The tuna in the tuna tacos was superb. So fresh! Shrimp and grits had a great gravy and the shrimp were perfect; not overcooked. The grits were not the star of the dish. Prices were very reasonable. Had they been higher, I may have only been able to get to a 4. Posters on the wall, if you took the time to notice, evidenced nerdy oyster knowledge and provided information about sustainable seafood eating. read more

When we're in Murrels Inlwt we generally go to Dead Dog Saloon but decided to give place a try (didn't realize then, that they are commonly owned). We stopped in for a quick lunch and we're seated promptly and met by our waiter soon after sitting down. We started with a few locally brewed IPA's from Charleston! They were good but probably would try something else next time. I ordered the lobster roll with butter and onion rings and my wife ordered the crab stack! Both entrees were excellent. I had one of their signature dishes, seafood mac and cheese, and it was beyond amazing. My husband and I shared a piece of chocolate cake...it was divine. The staff was friendly and helpful.
