My husband & I really enjoyed our dinner here on Wednesday, 7/3. We started by sharing their Chop salad - uniquely presented with each ingredient in a row. Tip - save the ranch dressing to eat with your fries - or request it. Hubby had the shrimp gumbo & I had the filet served in its own skillet with butter - one if best fillets I've ever had. Drinks were lovely too. I enjoyed the AZ prickly pear mojito & hubby had their Manhattan. Even though we were full after dinner, we decided to order their dessert beignets served with a chocolate, vanilla, & raspberry sauces. I thought they were just ok. To me, they were more like Wisconsin cream puffs without the cream than real beignets at Cafe du Monde's in New Orleans. Totally recommend this restaurant tho! This is our go-to breakfast spot! The food is always delicious, flavorful, consistent, and memorable. Today, we had the original egg sandwich and lemon ricotta pancakes and spiced it up with some alcoholic beverages consisting of a Mingus fog and mimosa. The drinks hit the spot! The egg sandwich had a perfectly cooked fried egg, tasty aioli, buttery and soft brioche (I think) bun and to die for side of Parmesan grits! The pancakes are always light and fluffy, with all the fresh berries and whipped toppings! You must try! The servers are all amazing! Always greeted promptly, with a welcoming demeanor. We visited Jerome late in the day on a a Tuesday when most stores and restaurants were already closed but found the Clinkscale open, and they were able to seat our party of 11. We ordered a little bit of everything and it was all freshly prepared, cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. We ended with the dessert platter which had beignets, peach cobbler with vanilla gelato, and the flourless chocolate cake, all were perfection. Service was great, our sever, Sam was awesome and took great care of us. One of the best meals out of our week long trip. read more

The Clinkscale remains the best place in town. We had reservations, and the man running the reservations (I think his name was Mike? Seemed maybe a manager?) went above and beyond for us. (And he loved my friend's unicorn hoodie!) We had an amazing table that allowed us to watch the sun set over the gorgeous scenery. The cocktails were on point (although the Sazerac was like a shot, so I might do something else next time!), and the food was TOPS. The truffle fries continue to be next level, and I again found myself loving the roasted tomato-poblano soup and grilled cheese. My friend had shrimp and grits, and she raved and raved about it. Service was perfect. Ambiance was amazing. We did not have any spectral encounters on this visit. The Clinkscale is still a shining star in Jerome. read more

Update After posting this review I was contacted by the hotel manager and had a pleasant conversation. She explained that after a review of the matter there was a mix up on the hotels end. She then very generously refunded the room as well as giving me a discount on my next future stay. While the situation was certainly inconvenient accidents do happen and it really shows the quality of this business is good because they went out of their way to not only refund me the money I spent, but they try to bring me back as a customer. read more

We stopped by here for brunch after some exploring the morning in Sedona. I mostly wanted to come here for the $0.01 mimosas, but I was pleasantly surprised at the food also! The drive up was scenic to this quaint town of Jerome. There were plenty of parking (paid) or free if you park a bit further away. We came at the perfect time and were seated right away. Our server Haley was fantastic. She suggested the mimosas and the lemon ricotta pancake and the eggs Benedict's. Both were fabulous choices. The pancakes were large and in stacks of threes. They were fluffy and perfect bite. Make sure you get the whipped cream with each bite and the blueberry compote is homemade too! The eggs Benedict has poached egg on top of a biscuit. The egg is slightly runny and the Hollandaise sauce is delicious. The grits is very cheesy and just the way I like it. Everything on the plate were beyond expectations and we cleared both plates. Revisited Jerome, acquaint old mining town, which was saved from a ghost town and now has several attractions, including this restaurant. Several of the locals actually recommended it to us. Our server was attentive and extremely receptive to questions. Their cocktail selection is unique and theirs, and the drink we had was delicious. My wife had the beet salad and enjoyed it very much. I had their club sandwich with their homemade tomato bisque, which was wonderful. They have two small bathrooms in the restaurant. Both are clean and quaint. I would definitely return here. I'm actually interested in the hotel part of this establishment. It looks like a fun place to spend the night. read more

What a way to start a holiday weekend. I have to admit, as a chef, I wasn't overly excited by what was said to be a bar and grill. I was invited on this road trip by friends and was not going to say anything. We came through the door and the hostess asked us if we had a reservation. We said no. We did not plan to be here. The road trip just happen to present itself. The hostess said she could not seat us at a table because she had them all reserved. She said we had to set at the bar. However, when we left the restaurant wasn't even half full. Maybe she could have said what time the reservations were for and tried to seat us. I'm taking a star off for her not so great welcome. We decided to sit at the bar. The bartenders name is Antoine and he gives amazing service. His timing is excellent and his check packs are always on point. Antoine's service inspired me to go ahead and write a review. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. Very clean. For such a small place the seating is well thought out. Very comfy but elevated surroundings. The bathrooms were very clean and also well thought out. I like to think if a restaurant takes that much time, preparing a bathroom that their kitchen is even better. Our food came out and was beautifully plated. They were photograph worthy. Yes, as a chef I love great plating. This is not what I think of when someone says bar & grill!!! This was more Ritz Carlton. The filet was ordered rare and was perfectly cooked. The steak tasted as good as it looked. Extremely tender and served with pomme frites. Our other dish was the shrimp cocktail. They say we eat with our eyes first. This plate says give it to me now. Yes it tasted even better than the presentation. The mussels were in a beer broth. There were a lot of broken shells and that was disappointing. So this also led to me to giving 4 stars and not five. We also had the burger and it was delicious as well. If you are in the area I would say stop in "with a reservation or skip it and just set with Antoine. He won't let you down. Very enjoyable meal. The good is that the restaurant is cute, with an old world vive. The customer service was great. We had a window seat that made great for people watching. Unfortunately the food was mediocre at best. I order the buffalo chicken biscuits and gravy. The waitress said it was their best seller so I went on her reocmmnetdaiton. I had four chicken strips that were dry and chewy. Like they have been reheated in a microwave. The gravy was very salty and heavy. And there was really no buffalo flavor to be found just a dash of buffalo sauce that tasted like something out of a bottle. We visited this "ghost town" on our trip to Sedona last month! I forgot to post the review while there! It was a wonderful experience and in these times small businesses need all the help and encouragement they can get! I have included a couple of pics to show you the presentation of the food! The service was good but like everywhere they seemed to be short staffed in front and back end! We ordered the eggs Benedict and a club sandwich for brunch. My daughter also ordered a mixed drink which came out promptly. The food was substantially delayed like 25 to 30 minutes. We didn't complain! The food finally came out and it was delicious! Hot and perfectly cooked. The server apologized to us and actually took half off one of the entrees! That is why I am writing this review! Well worth the trip! This is an incredible place with an even more incredible story. This establishment exemplified a full synthesis of the history and mystery of this historic town. We were blessed with table service provided by a remarkable woman and an historical treasure trove. As a resident of Jerome since 1967, relocated as a teen, she painted a rich history of the town. The real history...from the ground. That rich conversation punctuated a remarkable breakfast of absolute gourmet inspirations. We visited during a weekday so it wasn't too busy and we were seated immediately. Our waitress was very personable and attentive. We ordered the Club and the French Dip - both were great. Don't sleep on the Truffle Fries either, very good!! Parking Tip: there is very little street parking in front of the restaurant, I recommend just parking in the visitor lot on Hull Ave and walking up First Ave to get to the restaurant. You must try this restaurant if you are in the Verde Valley area. Request a table at the bar if you are a social person or a table by the window if you want a more intimate meal. We chose to sit at the bar and were very happy we did. We talked to Nate, the bartender for a majority of our meal. He is an exceptional bartender. My boyfriend ordered and loved the Black Walnut Manhattan. Nate made a delicious Tom Collins as well. The meal was the best meal either of us have had this entire year. This place was an adorable find on the Main Street of Jerome which we visited for our anniversary dinner. There was a tiny wait for our reservation before being seated. The waiter was friendly, knowledgeable and on top of things. We got the ribeye and the filet mignon, both with mashed potatoes and a side of carrots. They were incredible! Recently spent a wonderful weekend in Jerome and stayed at The Clinkscale Hotel and enjoyed many outstanding meals at The Clinkscale restaurant. Mike welcomed us and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we could possibly need. He is a terrific host, manager and lovely human being. We stayed in the penthouse and were pleasantly surprised with the spacious accommodations and found the suite to be comfortable, clean and well appointed. The restaurant is outstanding! The bartenders are creative and the chef is fabulously talented. Literally everything we had was exceptional. Breakfast was delicious, the toast was amazing!
