    Pumpkin spiced latte-iced.

Came in on Saturday morning for a Labor Day weekend promotion they had which is a large beverage for $5. I ordered the iced pumpkin spiced latte and the app made me reload my gift card and wouldn't allow me to utilize two payment methods so that was frustrating. Walked into the store to pick up, no one greated us, there was no way to tell where you pick up your drinks from but I figured it out went over grabbed the drink my self without a single interaction with the staff. The drink it self was overly sweet and tasted burnt.

I came to Coffee Bean to study, and it was the perfect spot to get through some lectures. It had a really quiet environment, though it was a bit packed for a Sunday night. I tried the cheese danish, blueberry muffin, and coffee cake, and everything was so good! The vanilla latte was amazing with less sugar, and I also tried the iced pumpkin spice latte with a cream cap, which was a nice fall treat. My server was super knowledgeable and basically picked out everything for me, which was super helpful. Loved all the recommendations, but my favorites were definitely the hot vanilla latte and the cheese danish.

The perfect study cafe! - free wifi - free parking in the lot next to it - open late (10pm) - reasonably priced drinks - great service :-) - a plethora of outlets - super spacious with lots of tables - high ceilings to bolster creativity! This is my go-to cafe in the area! It's just too good to gatekeep! I love their unsweetened idea teas or their ice blended original mocha if I'm wanting to treat myself ^^

It's a busy CBTL on the weekends and a decent place to study or meet a friend for coffee during the week. At times it's not the cleanest and outside there are the smokers but I like that's is there. Drinks are made exactly how we would want them. Staff was great the last time we were there!

We come here super often as it is pretty near our house and the service and drinks never disappoint. The interior, customer service and drinks themselves are all wonderful. The interior of the story is spacious and there are many tables to sit at. They have opened interior seating now, after COVID and it is not very crowded here, unlike the Starbucks across the road. Their cafe is much bigger than Starbucks and I love that about this Coffee Bean. The drinks are all super good, some of the ones that I recommend are the two Ice Blended drinks attached in the photos. The Oreo one is better in my opinion and the one with coffee in it is even better, balancing out the sweetness with the more bitter coffee. Their fruit teas are kinda syrupy though, so it just depends on if you like that or not. Customer service here is great, and we often come here on hot days if we were at the farmers market, to sit in the AC and get a cup of ice water. Love this Coffee Bean, it's one of my go-to shops!

    Minty Matcha Ice Blended drink

It was my first time visiting this location and thankfully I had a kind & thoughtful employee named Nathan giving me the best drink which was the Minty Matcha in honor of St. Paddy's Day. Not only did he prepare the beverage in a great way by making it with less ice, he also allowed me to have the extra amount made in a separate cup adding the Minty Whip Cream! It was so good!! It was just my Birthday and sadly very few wished or did anything for me so this kindness from a stranger was deeply appreciated! I look forward to returning to this location and the Supervisor on that day was also very nice and personable! I wish Coffee Bean would do more Mint flavored drinks!

We luckily found street parking up front, otherwise they have a small street nearby that you can probably park in as well. Only two people were ahead of us when we walked in but shortly after, the place filled up with the line almost out the door! There was only one worker but she made it work and she was fast! Cute decor and vibes inside. I wanted to try the pistachio bliss that everyone seemed to rave about but since their seasonal menu was out, I went for the toffee nut iced latte. The drinks are a bit on the pricier side, cute cups though! Something about the drink I got was a little off putting. Idk if it was whatever spice they used but I was not crazy about it. I definitely want to come back and try the pistachio at some point though! Getting out of my parking spot was rough. Busy street but also some annoying guy parked in the red zone behind me, basically bumper to bumper and then another girl in front had A LOT of room in front of her and just didn't give me enough room. I luckily made it out but very annoying! Anyway, still looking forward to coming back to try their pistachio bliss! IG: @ammysalamii

One thing I appreciated immediately was the parking. There is plenty of street parking, a parking structure directly across the street, and additional parking nearby, so getting there was surprisingly easy. As soon as we walked in, the owner, who was sitting near the entrance, warmly welcomed us. We initially started walking toward the cozy booth section in the back, but were told that area is reserved for dinner service and wasn't open... We weren't the only ones confused, as another guest came in shortly after and tried to sit there as well. That left us deciding between a few café tables downstairs, outdoor seating, or the upstairs loft. We first tried upstairs, but there were only a couple of two-top tables available. One was occupied by guests working on laptops, and the seating felt a little close together. The remaining tables were reserved for larger parties, so we ended up heading back downstairs. One of the available booths faced the restroom, which isn't my favorite, but I simply sat on the opposite side and it worked out just fine. Once we got settled, everything improved. Our server was friendly, attentive, and happy to offer recommendations. I ordered the French baguette turkey sandwich, while we also tried the spicy chicken sandwich, which both the server and the owner highly recommended. The owner even mentioned it's what he personally eats almost every day, and I can see why, it was delicious. We also ordered fries to share along with two hot lattes: a chai tea latte and a mocha. Both coffee drinks were excellent and easily some of the highlights of our meal. The atmosphere is charming and cozy, making it a great place to relax, catch up with friends, or enjoy a coffee date. Before dessert, the owner recommended the mini pancakes and the waffles, with ice cream. They both looked great, but I've had similar desserts at several other cafés recently, so I wanted to try something different. I ordered the brownie with ice cream instead, and I'm so glad I did. It was rich, fresh, and absolutely delicious. One thing the owner emphasized was that they use fresh ingredients without preservatives and focus on quality. After our meal, I believe it. Everything tasted fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and made with care. Our total for two people, including tip, came to about $120. It's a little on the pricier side for a café, but you're also paying for the ambiance, quality ingredients, attentive service, and the overall experience. Overall, we had a very enjoyable visit. My only suggestion would be to make the seating situation a little clearer for first-time guests, since several of us naturally gravitated toward the closed dining section. Other than that, the welcoming hospitality, quality food, excellent coffee, and relaxing atmosphere made this a place I'd happily return to.

So many people define themselves as experts. Sadly, many of those same people will walk in and say things like, "Gosh, I'm tired, could you make me a double espresso?", clearly assuming that stronger taste automatically means more caffeine. My wife and I simply like a good coffee in the morning. Which leads to the obvious question: what do we define as "good coffee"? For us, it helps us get into the day, tastes pleasant, and does not leave a bitter note. We are absolutely not coffee experts and can discuss coffee, at best, at what we Germans would call "Thekenniveau" -- bar-counter level. I do understand, however, that it may make a difference whether beans were roasted weeks or even months ago somewhere remote, then shipped and stored, or whether they were roasted locally and recently. So we asked ChatGPT, and one of the recommendations was REGENT Coffee in our neighborhood. We went. Our directive was very clear: we explained that we knew little to nothing about coffee, which was precisely why we had come in and were looking for advice. The lady helping us started with: "Well, it all comes down to the settings of your coffee machine when you pour your espresso." I responded that we are not really espresso drinkers -- we drink Americano. She gave us "the look" and explained that an Americano is espresso with more water. The information: fair enough. The way it was communicated: not ideal if your goal is to win me as a customer. From there, the conversation did not really lead anywhere. We were asked questions such as whether we preferred nutty or fruity coffee. That may be a perfectly reasonable question for someone who already knows what those terms mean in practical taste terms. But we had just told her that we did not. That was the entire reason we were there. We were not looking to prove our coffee knowledge. We were looking for someone who had the expertise to guide us. In the end, we bought an Americano. It was served so hot that my wife burned her mouth in the car, and it took almost the entire 45-minute drive to Santa Monica before it had reached what we considered a comfortable drinking temperature. It cost $5. And we did not even particularly like it. Would I go again? No. Would I recommend REGENT based on this experience? No. What makes this particularly disappointing is that this was a tremendous lost opportunity to turn us into long-term customers. We like expert advice. We drive to Farmers Markets to buy fresh produce knowing full well that we may pay 200% more for something that is perhaps only 15% better. But we can taste the difference, and that makes it worthwhile to us. Coffee could have been exactly the same. If I specialized in coffee, I would make it incredibly easy for people like us to enter that world. I would offer tastings. I would explain, in simple language, what "nutty", "fruity", "chocolatey", "bright", "smooth" or "low acidity" actually mean in the cup. I might offer a short class on how to set up a home coffee machine properly. Maybe even machine-specific sessions. Maybe in the shop. Maybe at the customer's home. Because there are customers walking through the door saying, quite literally: "We know very little. We want advice. We are willing to spend money." And even better from a business perspective: Not just money once. Continuous money. Imagine if the conversation had instead started with: "I totally understand where you are coming from. Coffee can become unnecessarily complicated very quickly. Since you mostly drink Americano and want something smooth rather than bitter, let me give you two small tastes so you can understand the difference. Then I'll recommend one bean to start with." We would almost certainly have bought a bag. Possibly two. And if we had liked them, we might have bought beans there for years. Instead, they sold us one tiny cup for $5 over the counter, while the payment screen suggested an 18-25% tip. And two potentially very loyal customers walked out frustrated. That, to me, is the real business lesson here. It is not about whether REGENT makes good or bad coffee. Taste is subjective. It is about recognizing the customer who is standing right in front of you. Especially when that customer is effectively saying: "Please teach me how to spend more money with you." And then making sure you do not send them home without doing exactly that. Small caffeine footnote: espresso is more concentrated in caffeine per ounce, but a normal serving of drip coffee usually contains more total caffeine than a single espresso because the serving is much larger. Stronger taste does not automatically mean more caffeine.
