I had a corned beef sandwich today from The Connection Cafe that was tender and lean and just fabulous! The mustard was spicy and added just the right zing. The house made chips were delicious. First the good- the omelet I ordered was fantastic easily a 9/10. The homefries were soft and sucked but whatever. The bad-40 minute wait for an omlet? AND we were seated immediately? Finally in the right place at the right time to try The Connection Cafe. At 10:15 on a Saturday morning the place was busy but not crazy. A large step up from their old digs in Randolph, The Breakfast Connection. The place is huge, with plenty of room between tables. Nicely decorated and squeaky clean. The parking lot (shared with other businesses) is tight and must fill up on Sunday mornings. Large menu, with lots of choices. Service was quick and friendly. Our coffees were refreshed frequently, and our food came out promptly. Prices were in line with other breakfast places in the area. I had 'The Yankee'. Eggs over corned beef hash with cheese sauce. It came with a grilled bagel and home fries. Delicious! The home fries were red-skinned (can I say that?) and well seasoned, though they could have been crispier (they can ALWAYS be crispier in my eyes). My sister had a special, Florentine Benedict, which she really enjoyed. As we were leaving the owner asked how our meal was and we were happy to tell her how much we enjoyed it. Very disappointing. Came in with a great greeting and beautiful cafe but as soon as I sat down, no staff came to ask what I wanted off the menu. Waited 30 minutes and still was not asked while the waitresses went to other booths to ask how their food was doing. The cafe was also not crowded and my partner and I were not being disrespectful at all. Wondering if it was a racial problem or something but not sure.. Eventually we just left because they took too long even though they saw us wait.... Hopefully theres better service the next time we come. read more

I took my family of seven here for Sunday brunch. They were very accommodating of our large group and seated us in a reasonable amount of time for how busy they were. The food was good. I did like my Irish Benny (eggs benedict with corned beef instead of ham) and the potatoes were good, although I prefer them a bit crispier, but that's me. The coffee wasn't good, but it may have just been an old pot. The prices were not as good. Actually the adult prices were okay: about $10 or $11 which is on the high side for a breakfast meal, but not outrageous. However, the kids' meals were $8 each for one pancake (a Mickey Mouse pancake of one large round and two much smaller rounds attached like ears), two slices of bacon and a cup of milk. There's no reason for them to be that expensive. Our breakfast meal ended up costing as much as going out to dinner does, and at dinner we'd get a lot more food. I liked the restaurant itself, modern without being too chic, and comfortable, airy and bright. The service was competent, although the waitress needed to be reminded to bring stuff once or twice, but not a super big deal. Bottom line: If the kids meals were $5, I'd give four stars. read more

The dining area was absolutely huge and everything was delicious namely the Home Fries which I ordered with cooked onions inside was so I dare say it some of the best home fries ever ! Food: - iced coffee: strong, you add cream/milk/sugar to your own liking and a plus for using coffee ice cubes! - buffalo chicken spuds: was very excited for these but they turned out to be very dry pieces of chicken - steak Benedict: steak was absolutely delicious but the hollandaise sauce sort of ruined the dish... very strong and overpowering horse radish taste - the Yankee: best dish of the three but wasn't the best corned beef hash ever - side of bacon: $3 for 3 small pieces, wouldn't recommend for the price for quantity/quality Service: Waitress was pretty good and attentive for the most part, but kitchen quite took a while to make the food and some of the food for the table who put their order in after us actually arrived first. Place is modern, very clean, and comfortable. The iced coffee came with coffee ice cubes, you don't see that often, I was very impressed. I ordered two eggs scrambled with cheese, a grilled English muffin, and hash browns. The hash browns were freezer burnered and tasted awful. I should of just got the home fries. My man ordered corned beef hash w/ three over easy eggs, home fries, toast, and a Belgian waffle. He likes his corned beef more well done than how they cooked it. He also asked for it to be. Sunday was my first time going to the connection cafe, and WOW! I am impressed! The wait staff was amazing, so attentive and were willing to do anything for you. We also got to meet the manager, Susan, who was very inviting and made us feel at home. Although there was a bit of a wait for food, the quality of the food made up for it. Very much worth the wait! If I could give this place 10 stars I would. I got the steak tips and eggs and my husband got the steak benny and they were the best steak tips we've ever had for a reasonable price too! Not to mention the fact that they have a full bar and great mimosas! It's high noon on a lazy Sunday, looking for our first meal. My girlfriend and I first impression was comical walking into the front door seeing a chunk of old bread laying under a table next to the massive hostess stand. It took over an hour from walking into the door until our food hit our table.. the waitress brought over a cinnamon bun laying it on the table saying sorry it's taking so long. If you have time to make the cinnamon bun you should have time to make some eggs... Food looked good but my eggs were cold the bacon was cooked correctly, pancakes tasted great & home fries were good. This place may look new and fancy but they need to get it together. A fairly new business in town, they continue to establish themselves as a wonderful addition. A nice, comfortable atmosphere with friendly waitstaff and the owner is frequently available. One time I mentioned to her that I left my credit card at home so she said no problem come back later. Unfortunately I realized my car was at the shop nearby (I Uber'ed over) so she gave me a ride. Another stressful time for my family while trying to sell our house I asked her if I could grab breakfast with my son and pay her the next day when I got paid. She comped my whole meal. Just goes to show what a small-town atmosphere and mentality will do for you. All the waitstaff ladies are so sweet and caring. Did I mention the food is delicious?? Nothing is too fatty or greasy. High quality and tasty. Great home fries, fluffy pancakes. Fantastic Chili. The serving ladies know my little boy and are on a first name basis with him. Upon arrival I waited a few minutes to be acknowledged and then asked what the wait was and hostess stated no wait. I said great, grabbed my kids so DH could park the car and then proceeded to wait at least 10 minutes to be seated. The waitress was kind and took our order promptly but then there was a fairly long wait for what, we felt, were simple breakfast orders. The meals were just OK but didn't quite settle that well once we got home. My first time there was today. The waitstaff was really good. The portions and the pricing is good. The place was super clean. They have a good menu with some homemade items on it. We enjoyed everything with the exception of the corn beef hash. Although it was homemade it was very bland and heavily salted to the point that we didn't enjoy it. It was probably just this one time that it was like that. Hey it happens. Aside from that I would say try it out. The only reason for 4 stars and not 5 was because of the other places I am comparing it to that I have visited. read more

So it's Sunday March 10th 2019, my 5 month pregnant wife and I decided to go get breakfast. We arrived here at 12:45pm and after my wife went and put her name on "the waiting list" she was told it would be 15mins which we was cool. There was three parties before us, 15mins comes and goes the parties that are on the list before us get seated so we thought it was our turn next. After a few more 15mins goes by well more like another 45min goes by. A family of 4 walks in and was greeted and got sat down right away. While we are still waiting to be seated. So all in all 15min from when my wife places her name on the list to over 1hr later we still didn't get breakfast. The owner came out to try to speak to us and I wasn't trying to hear it. I may not affect her bottom line but I'm not going to return to this establishment which sucks I really liked it here. read more

WALKOUT...went here when first opened up and food was great. Gone down hill quickly, help isn't as friendly, you always have to wait to be seated even though there's open tables. Today went there and walked out after an hour and fifteen minutes of wait. Never told what was going on, when asked I was told, they were a little behind. Three weeks ago it was slow and we were told a cook walked out. This time we walked out and never to return. Saturday 12/22 10:30 AM. Place was full at tables and booths and 1/2 dozen waiting. I was a single diner so sat at the bar which had open seats. Coffee in my cup within 5 minutes and breakfast delivered 10 minutes later. Coffe wasn't great not food was good. Had eggs over corned beef hash with home fries and English. However, we waited 10 min before anyone came to our table for drinks. Then when we finally ordered our food it look extremely long and it wasn't correct and it was not even hot. The food taste wasn't bad but nothing to rave about. Very disappointed with the service and the fact that we were never followed up with. Worst breakfast hubby and I have ever had! We were seated right away. I guess waiter forgot about us and took a while to come back to take our order. Our food didn't come out for about half an hour later. There were customers that were seated after us but was served before us. Food was over cooked and dried. Finally, a breakfast joint in Holbrook! Welcome! My entire family loves this place. We've been there a handful of times (much more if you count the times I've snuck takeout behind hubby's back)! Shhh! It's large so people aren't packed in like sardines like many other breakfast places. The acoustics are great. It's not super noisy even when busy. There are cute, uplifting quotes on each table and on the walls. The food is delicious and the portions are incredibly generous. I highly recommend the buffalo chicken omelet, which fills the entire (large) plate! I haven't gotten past the breakfast menu because breakfast is my absolute favorite meal but they do also offer lunch! They recently got their liquor license and last I heard, people were buzzing about the Bloody Mary's they've promoted on Facebook. read more

Too bad :( I ordered the Steak Benedict medium rare - 2-poached eggs, juice steak served over grilled sourdough, as I was undecided over the Steak and Eggs (which stated sirloin steak tips) but I wanted a steak. And I asked the waitress if the stead was thin or thick and she stated that was was on the thick side - so I ordered it medium rare. NOT anything I ordered. It came as 2-poached eggs, 4-steak TIPS medium, on rye bread. so OK the only thing that was correct from the menu was the 2-poached eggs but nothing else. So I told the waitress and she said it was tips and not a steak and the menu says steak and not a sirloin. Hello, I'm not sure what she thinks a steak but it clearly did not state STEAK TIPS. And on top of that it was medium NOT medium rare and it was TOUGH. After that she avoided our table like the plague. REALLY that's the kind of service we get for a complaint that you made NOT ME. NO APOLOGY - NOTHING. Definitely not coming back here again - Going to stay at Mike's Diner in Stoughton or even IHOP and get better treated. read more
