We were at the end of a very long remodel... and we discovered that our contractor's subs had damaged our hardwood floors so badly they needed to be refinished. So we had to pack up and move everything out because our house is 90% hardwood. Our contractor had used this company and negotiated our rate. This moving company is a bright light in a sea of mediocre businesses we have dealt with over the course of the remodel. Lenny was easy to get a hold of and the teams, both for pack out and move in were outstanding. Seriously. Both team leads, Martha and Adriana were professional and led those teams well. Maybe my expectations are low after a remodel, but they exceeded them. We got along great with everyone on the team (same team both times, different leads). Showed up on time. Every piece of furniture was wrapped with furniture pads. Every single piece. I didn't love how much shedding the new pads had (fine dust everywhere), but I did love that every piece of furniture arrived unharmed. Not perfect, as some doors got dinged and paint chipped, but easily fixable and moving big furniture is challenging. Better than any military move we have EVER done. Treated our stuff with respect and we helped unpack alongside to try to get as far along as possible in one day. Everything is wrapped well. We excluded some areas from being unpacked (I need to clean out and get rid of stuff and this gives me a chance to go through it all). They moved non-stop almost the entire time. Got lamps plugged in, TV set up, etc etc. I was a bit confused early on, as I'm used to boxes being labeled with numbers so you know how many boxes there are and then we check them off a list to ensure we have everything. We managed to store quite a lot on site (kitchen and garage) but many boxes and some furniture had to be stores at their warehouse. Turns out it's not like a military move where they put your stuff with everyone else's- this company puts all your stuff in your own storage container at their warehouse, so no need for numbering boxes. Plus they have a gazillion photos. They made a very stressful and tedious process SO much easier. I really appreciate the labels on every box (down to the correct drawer!) so I can put unpack the rest at my leisure. I unpacked everything and nothing was lost or misplaced. Amazing. read more

So my foundation was damaged by a tree root. Everything needed to be removed from my house. Over the course of three days a swarm of the most careful, efficient, respectful humans packed my belongings. Every item that was packed was photographed from multiple angles and inventoried. Each box was labeled with my name, the original location and a brief description of the contents. Certain things they could not store for legal reasons, all those items were boxed up and left behind in such a way that they could be easily moved to allow the repairs to be done. When the work was completed the same crew that packed my goodies returned. They started with my furniture, some of which needed to be put back together, which they did. While the house was empty I decided to rearrange the furniture and do some renovations. They put the furniture where I wanted it and unpacked as much as they could. My house is still full of boxes but that's on me for not finishing the kitchen. But all the boxes are in the rooms where they belong, easily accessible and I know what goes where. The boxes are clearly labeled if the contents are fragile or heavy, including some with hand written notes of "back breaker" which I really appreciate for when I get to those boxes. Representative from contents: Ana Srbovska In the beginning, contents specialist was actually good. They came in and packed our stuff and took our items to their storage. However, when I requested for our items back, I was told that it would all be delivered on a Friday. So, I scheduled a plumber to come in at the end of the day to install our appliances. But, that wasn't the case. Close to the end of the day, I was told that the remainder of our things will be delivered on Monday. Delivery of items from storage: First week of March After all deliveries were made, there were items missing, and our refrigerator was damaged. There were also items that weren't on the non-salavageable list that they eventually found in their storage. Five weeks went by and our refrigerator is still not fixed so I just opted to get a pay out and I will just get it fixed but to date, I haven't received the check. Between the lack of communication and failure to proceed formally, our experience with this company was more than disappointing. (A little back story is our home was affected by mold and took a very large toll on my health, causing debilitating headaches). To start off they missed their first pick up day to collect our items. We should have taken that as a warning sign. However, the movers were the most pleasant part of the experience. Brian Zanini took our account and information and then abruptly left for a vacation to Europe, leaving us to communicate with Wendy Ann. We made several confirmations about how to handle our items with her and then 2 weeks later we were appointed to Senaida. There was back and forth communication with up to 1.5 weeks in between. This led to 4.5 months passing before they informed us that insurance would not be covering our expenses and that the $8000+ bill would be our responsibility. We had relayed multiple times over this entire period how we wanted to handle our items, but nothing had been done in the 5 months that our items were with them, except our bed had been broken. It finally took us coming in to say we were done and would handle our items on our own. If we had known how poorly things would be handled and how expensive it was going to be, we would NEVER have used them. No prices were shown up front and only 1 piece of paper had been signed during the entire chain of events. When we went to retrieve our items at a scheduled time, no one was available to assist as they had scheduled our pick-up time during a company meeting. Again, we returned the next week at a scheduled time. This time a warehouse worker, Todd, threatened my boyfriend about sending us to collections! This is not only inappropriate, but he has not been involved with our account at all. Once we had started to go through our packed items, there was NO separation of items that had been in less affected areas and more affected areas. Items were either packed with excessive packing material or none at all. I can't express enough how frustrating it has been to interact with this company as a whole! This is the first time I did not do thorough research before using a company. I was dealing with health/home issues and it skewed my judgement. I regret not looking further into this company and seeing that their own employees are leaving 5 star reviews (on yelp and google), which is illegal by FTC regulations. According to Google Review standards it is also considered conflict of interest. Also, on the Better Business Bureau website they have a C+ rating...Further investigation led to more accurate reviews with my similar experience at other locations. Please do yourself a favor and be aware of this company. They are not informed when you call to ask questions but are quick to make appointments. We had an issue when the public sewer line blocked and raw sewerage came up through our toilet. It was a horrible mess! The Contents Specialists packed everything that could be saved and took the remainder away. David was very nice to work with.....everybody was nice! We had a very difficult time dealing with the Sewer District's insurance carrier. As I read some of the critical reviews it seems that many of the problems are related to insurance coverage. About 2 months ago I called The Contents Specialists to handle my mom's house that has a fire damage in her kitchen. I was not sure what to expect from sick a service but Cary, the inspector did an excellent job explaining to me the entire process of the packing, cleaning and packing back. We have been working with about 6 different contractor on this project from Restoration company to construction, textile, plumbers etc. I have to say that the way the contents was handled and the status updates I was getting was beyond my expectations. This company did exactly what was promised in day one without any last minute changes and extra billing. I was referred to Contents Specialists by my insurance company after a sewer main flood in my home, and I had to move out for five weeks. Wow, did I luck out! This company was so on top of things from the get-go. They were prompt at scheduling my move out and move in dates, very friendly and professional staff from the field team to the office team. And above that, they took good care of all of my personal belongings from start to finish. I did not know that there were services that would pack all of your things and then unpack them all and put them back in place. I was a bit concerned at the beginning, but after moving back in, they really did do what they said, which was to put pretty much everything back the way they found it with only some minor differences in the end which was no big deal for me.
