If you're looking for a great spot in Hell's Kitchen, The Corner Chinese Restaurant is a gem. It's super close to Broadway and Times Square but has a totally low-key, casual vibe. The authentic food is excellent, the veggies and noodles are delicious, and the portions are massive for the price. The waiter was also super friendly and helpful. They even have vegan options and a happy hour, which is awesome. I highly recommend dropping in! We did have moo shoo chicken and stir fy eggplant with green beans. It was more than enough for two people to split!

This is one of my most favorite places to eat in Midtown! You can't get to Chinatown, don't worry. Stop here and it is all delicious! Make sure to get the Honey Walnut Shrimp, the roasted eggplant with its hint of spice, and the Beef Chow Fun. The gorgeous interiors will remind you of the Hulu series, interior Chinatown, I believe the writer is around the corner. Service is impeccable and if you can't make your way to Chinatown, honestly this is the best place in Midtown I've ever been to. I think of it all the time!

Spicy and flavorful hot & sour soup Full bar Creative cocktails and desserts No outside seating, but a good amount of indoor seating. Large traditional menu. Big portions. Beef and broccoli and pineapple fried rice are go-tos

Side note- I apologize for the people at our table who was a prick several months ago when I went here. The changing table size, that person, and our varied arrival times led to very much expected service headaches, and the waitstaff who helped us and put up with that person were saints. Anyway, I was at this Chinese spot a good while back with a group that I rarely attend dinners with. I don't attend for many reasons, as you can see in the side note above, and this broke the proverbial back. The menu primarily focuses on Szechuan dishes, but it also offers a good mix of Cantonese and standard Chinese-American fare. As we waited, I sat with one of the guys who had a cocktail he liked. After a while, we sat down and ordered haphazardly. To start, as I was getting hungry, I ordered a $4 Hot And Sour Soup. The soup was more on the Szechuan side, being less gloopy as there wasn't too much cornstarch, which is definitely my preference. There were some wood-ear mushrooms, a bit of tofu, ginger, and other assorted vegetables in there. It was above average and good. The other person I mentioned ordered a $15 Mapo Tofu, which I got a bit of, and it was pretty tasty. The mala flavor was a bit lighter than expected, but the tofu texture was nice, being neither too firm nor too soft. This place also makes its Mapo Tofu a bit different in another way, as the traditional ground pork topping, or the less typical ground chicken, is available for an extra $7, which is nice for vegetarians. My main dish was the Boiled Beef, a $24 dish that is listed with three chili peppers. This consisted of juicy slices of beef cooked in a spicy, numbing broth infused with Sichuan peppercorns, chilies, and aromatic spices for a bold and flavorful dish. The dish arrived in a large bowl with plenty of oil, as expected. For those unaware, it might look like broth, but it's more of a way to keep the beef in the flavorful oil, and it's not supposed to be drunk. Another person had gotten white rice, and I had the dish together. The beef was plentiful and had a good numbing effect, though it was a bit less spicy than I expected. It was fine, but next time, if I came back here, I would probably get the spicy fish filet or something else. This is a pretty good Chinese place with plenty of space in the middle of a neighborhood that is rapidly adding more and more Asian spots. I'll bump up my rating a good amount because the service had to deal with one particular moron, and the food was good quality, except for my main dish, which was only decent. Would be a lower 3 in other neighborhoods with more Szechuan options.

Beautiful space on 9th Ave serving delicious chinese food. I like how the menu is a mix of authentic and americanized food. The staff was quick to seat us and was good about asking us questions. For dishes we went with a mix of the menu. The peking duck rolls were something unique I've never had before and had a pleasant taste to it. I liked the main dishes the most - the kung pao chicken had a good flavor and the fish was coated in a delicious sauce. For chinese food in NYC, I'd be back - especially with it being so close to Times Square!

So glad we looked on yelp for Asian food in the area and found this beautiful oasis. Lunch specials were $15 and included soup. Many choices available. I had chicken with eggplant and my husband had cashew chicken. Both were plentiful and delicious. Service was sufficient, could have been checked on a bit more but as I said sufficient.

Just as our table, we also noticed others that they experienced that one plate gets to the table way before the other one, so one person is just hanging around there. But focusing on the food quality only, it's really good. Our server didn't speak well English and couldn't answer questions or provide recommendations, so the service wouldn't be great if her manager or lead server didn't jump in. The ambience is also what really made us like this place, considering the previously mentioned negatives. It's really cozy and comfortable with a great energy. Overall, food - really good, ambience - really good, service - not up to par.

We visited the restaurant on New Years Day afternoon , it wasn't busy. I was surprised that the price of the dishes were pricey but then not surprised after seeing the portion of the food. The portion is a family portion so definitely worth the price. We tried the wonton soup, crispy baby tofu, crispy chicken wings, beef lo mein, beef Angel hair rice pasta, sautéed baby bok choy, beef with mushroom. They were all delicious, since it's a szechuan style, you can definitely taste that on crispy chicken wings. Crispy baby tofu, it was soft Japanese tofu (not my fav). Definitely good restaurant for family! A little suggestion will be having a different kind of music in the restaurant. It was kind of loud/bar/pop hip hop music and the noise from tv mixed all together, kind of kill the mood of the restaurant.

Stopped in The Corner to grab a late night snack. It was about 20min to closing but there were still a few tables finishing up and the staff was polite and encouraged us to us to dine. The lychee martini was delicious and lo mein was a huge potion. There are a lot of options on the menu, so it was hard to just choose one but the quality was excellent and I would come back again.

One of my close friends raved about this spot for a while now and she recommended I check it out at some point. I was off on a weekday and since I was in the area I decided to take advantage of their lunch special. I have to take a star away and give them four stars because #1) Their menu prices aren't updated online and #2) I didn't see anywhere online stating that they close at 3:30 pm and reopen again later. As far as their menu prices, their website still says they have a $12/$14/$16 lunch menu special but when you arrive this menu doesn't exist any longer. On their lunch menu everything is $14. As far as them closing at 3:30 pm for lunch and reopening later for dinner, this should be clear. I arrived around 3:10 pm and I was told they shut down at 3:30 pm, but I was still able to order and thankfully wasn't rushed. The young gentleman, Laurent, provided excellent customer service and was super friendly. I hope to get him again when I return. The food was absolutely DELISH!!! I ordered two lunch specials, one to eat there and another to take home, and I surely wasn't disappointed. Very fresh and authentic Chinese cuisine with generous portions. I ordered the beef with broccoli and also the chicken with garlic sauce. Both were very tasty and the lunch specials come with a rice and a soup of your choice. The inside of this establishment is beautiful, clean and bright. As soon as I stepped in I felt like I was transported to China. I'm looking forward to returning and trying other dishes.

The grilled pork spare ribs was good, but it was too little meat for the price. The scallion pancake was bland. The Peking duck was ok. The pork xiao long bao was bad. The skin broke easily with the included forceps and with chopsticks. It was hard even transferring it to my plate. The mapo tofu was bland. The la zi ji (spicy crispy chicken) was too spicy to eat. I have good spice tolerance, and I always eat la zi ji, but it was just too spicy. This was the only meat dish that was barely touched at the end of the dinner. The best dish was the cumin lamb. It was seasoned well and the lamb was tender. I wish they gave us more lamb though. The meat pieces were small. I've had much better Chinese food in dallas. I would not recommend this Chinese restaurant to anyone.
