This place is awesome and the staff was so friendly. I ordered the cinnamon roll and huevos rancheros and a bagel and cream cheese... it was a lot of food but I had friends to help. I've eaten at The Cow for about 8 years now. Always have had good food there. Yesterday I went there for a chicken fried steak and ordered a double order of mash instead of mash and veggies. The mash came without gravy so I asked the server for a bit of gravy for them. After eating a good meal and some unfortunately flavorless ice cream I looked at my bill to pay it. I was charged $3.99 for the gravy. The bowl had about 1/4 cup of gravy in it if that much. I have asked for extra gravy there before and have never been charged for it. I asked and was told it came out as and was charged as a side order. When I asked for it I was expecting to get enough gravy to top my mash. Which I got. However, I was not expecting to have to pay for a bit of gravy. I was very disappointed that this happened and won't make this mistake twice. I'll probably go eat there again but I sure as hell won't ask for a bit of gravy. read more

Recommended by my oldest son who lives near here. Here in mid December with middle son for oldest son wedding, another 5 star experience in my eyes!! I had the breakfast burrito and the home made green chili on it was one of the best in recent history. So much flavor! I was gonna take some home but couldn't stop, so I finished it...Son had a dirty chai tea with espresso and it was really good as well (even though I hate tea). He ordered the angry cow and LOVED every bite! We also ordered 2 cinnamon rolls to go and they were phenomenal as well. It was a great experience I would do again every time I come here! read more

Once again I was passing through and met my wife on her way home from work for breakfast. Not too many other options in the area so we reluctantly met at The Cow. I got the waffle sandwich. It was pretty good! But, please tell your cooks this important and obvious detail. Put some thing, anything on your sweet potatoes. Salt, pepper, something. They were horrible and boring as hell. I took them home only because I don't waste food. Re-cooked them and seasoned. Way better the second day. Wife's biscuit and gravy was marginal at best. Super boring and bland. Come on guys. First time we ate here was in July and we played it safe with our food choices and were not disappointed. This time, we went with some restaurant favorites (The Cow Breakfast Burrito & The Angry Cow). Both were amazing choices! Their pork green chile sauce was so delicious! Unfortunately the Cow has gone down hill significantly since it was sold a couple years back. We've tried to give it a few times since but it's progressively worse. A normal Sunday morning today would be packed with patrons, and this today it's a ghost town regardless of the weather. Seems maybe we aren't the only ones that have seen a drastic change. Toast was overcooked and black burnt edges, eggs were also burnt in the edges on the avocado toast, doesn't even look like fresh avocados anymore, more like a once frozen paste with a handful of red pepper flakes thrown in. The presentation was also terrible. "Vera Cruz Benedict" today's special menu was terrible. Smothered in a cup of hollandaise over raw English muffins vs a normal optioned put amount to compliment the dish. Over spiced shrimp and inconsistent and 3 bites of scallops is pretty poor. Eggs cooked fine, but the shreds are 1/4 of the usual amount they used to serve and were also undercooked and covered in oil/butter. Our sons waffle was too sweet for him, he didn't eat a single bite (not their fault though, he's 3 and picky) but it would have been nice if the server noticed and asked but she didn't. Sad that this once iconic spot in Morrison our hone town has gone down so far. It used to be the absolute best place to grab breakfast or lunch until the new owners. Now it feels (and tastes) like all they are doing is trying to turn a $$. read more

The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because the service has room for improvement: we went a while without a refill or seeing our waitress, another then brought us our check without asking if we needed anything else. This is one of the most adorable places I've ever been. Although the wait was a little long it was worth it. The food was different but it was good. I will say their portions are a little small for the amount they charge but being that it is a locally owned business we support it. Their ice cream was delicious as well and I will say this is the one area they don't skimp on. If you're in the Red rocks area. Give this place a try for yourself. I never write reviews but this has to be documented. we used their "book a table reservation" on their website and we were told 10-15 minutes until we were seated. we get there in a few minutes and told another 10-15 minutes. then about 40 some minutes after complaining we get seated and for almost another 20 minutes no one even serves us at the table. not even a server with waters. looked like food was good but never got a chance to try because we finally left after not being served. our little kids couldn't wait any longer to eat. read more

For example, if you order a fruit salad or regular salad, it's loaded with real fruit, good fresh variety of greens and homemade dressings. Very strange restaurant playing 1980's pop music and trying to be many things: a bar, a dessert place, a Mexican place, a dairy place... and it doesn't really pull anything off well. I tried the rellenos - not even close to the Morrison Inn just down the road. I tried the cheese curds, but the chipotle ranch dressing was a little too vinegary and acidic.
