After the ownership change the quality of the food, in my opinion, has gone down. I usually only get the Cubano, and with the previous owners I found it really delicious. Now, with the new owners, I found it incredibly bland and lackluster. Nothing in the sandwich tasted particularly good. It used to come with a side of fried plantain, but no more. Now I got a bunch of overcooked potato chips to unfortunately take its place. The only good thing was the side of sauce. Like a hidden gem.. I'm so glad we finally got to try this place. Ordered online, walked in to a very friendly crew and customers. Which was nice to see! The older gentleman was very friendly and told us our food would be ready soon which I was surprised since we just ordered the food. The only bummer part was they forgot a meal, which honestly it was a very large order and it happens. Drove back to get our food and we got a couple of the desserts for our trouble (which was honestly a pleasant surprised) the fact that the customer service alone was so pleasant to deal with I'll be back. Went here for lunch today with my husband. I enjoyed the Cuban King sandwich special that came with chicken and rice soup. The soup was delicious. The sandwich was awesome because the bread was cooked perfectly and the meats were tender. I did a check in through Yelp and I got a free empanada and I chose beef. Overall good atmosphere and food, but the reviews definitely raised the bar on the food and sadly not everything met my expectations. We ordered their chicken empanada,beef empanada, ropa vieja plate, and pollo a la plancha. The empanadas weren't as filled with meat as we would have liked, but I enjoyed the flaky, crispy dough. The meat for the ropa vieja was chewy and I didn't think the sauce was all that flavorful, maybe it needed more of it? However, the seasoning on the chicken plate was yummy, as were the beans that came on the side! The music and people inside made the atmosphere lively! Service was also attentive and courteous. We had forgotten to mention we were getting take out, so when I went back to the counter to ask for the food packaged, they reassured us it was no trouble at all! Not sure how this restaurant gets the high ratings that it has. When I walked in there was only two other people in the restaurant and the guy that saw me yelled for another young lady to help me. When she come to the front she was in disarray trying to fix her apron answer the phone and did not have it all together. Upon receiving my order I was shorted the empanada and when I brought it to her attention she said oh sorry forgot. I tried the ropa Vieja and the papa rellena. The ropa vieja was very plain the whole dish did not stand out to me. The papas had no flavor , was very dry and not worth the price. When I finally did get my Empanada To Go and tried it it was not good, not enough meat, not enough flavor. Not sure I would return to this establishment. Wow! First time experiencing authentic Cuban cuisine. I am definitely going to become a regular. The lechon was so flavorful with excellent crisp tenderness. I'm so used to the Filipino lechon, as that is my culture and I have to admit The Cuban Hut's lechon surpasses the lechon kawalli I'm used to. Even the white rice has flavor! This is usually where people go wrong, the pork was nice and tender, not overly juicy to where the sandwich is just soaked, and not dry. Perfect amount of mustard, not over powering, which is another big issue I've had. Everything blends together to make the best Cubano. Plantains! Mouthwatering, perfectly ripe and well cooked. Service was great and the food was to my taste authentic in what I've experienced Cuban food in other locations. Delicious, hearty and my stomach was very satisfied. I ordered the Cuban plate which consisted of Ropa Vija, Lechon, Grilled Chicken with Rice and Beans. Beans were very nice and the Lechon (shredded pork) had great flavor.
