Our first time taking the boat to Medina Lake and this is where we came to launch it. Hubby…read moreremembered coming here once maybe 40 years ago with his cousin to launch their boat. We had a sticker price shock... $15 Launch Fee $10 additional car parking We weren't going to shop around, we are here and we are going to get on the water NOW! Lol. Well, come to find out, there really isn't much of a choice on this lake so just come prepared. Plus there is a lock box for overnight or early launches. If you are going to be gone on the water for the weekend, the charge is per day. The boat ramp itself and dock are great. The older lady at the counter that helped us both before the launch and afterwards with our burger order was really nice and helpful. Huge indoor patio with huge fans plus a nice outdoor patio surrounded by tropical plants. I could see this being a great place to enjoy a band on Sat nights. Red's does not have gas (although sign says they do) but we were told the marina down the street does. We didn't need it right then but was checking for the future. We made a note to always pre-purchase gas... in Hondo, Castroville, or Lakehills coming from the other direction about 10 miles as there aren't any stations around in the country roads that we traveled on getting there. I would suggest getting their to Red's early as parking is limited. We were there on Sat 31 Mar about 2pm and it was already packed. I can't imagine what it's like in the summer time. I'm sure we'll be back again as soon as we have a free weekend. Happy Boating!

We went out there to go see the lake and a little restaurant that was near it and unfortunately…read moreafter a 30 minute drive, it was closed. It was well worth a little scenic drive and the knowledge of the whereabouts. We will definitely be eating out there soon as they are open again. We are not exactly sure why they are closed because of the lake being low maybe? However it looked beautiful out there and even though the roads were windy and narrow, it was great! 7-30-22

What a great environment to hang out on a weekday for brunch. I ordered the vegetarian sandwich…read morewith a side of fruit and everything was super fresh and delicious. It was a pleasant surprise to have brunch here as I thought it was mainly a cafe. There's plenty of parking and seating inside along with great window views and sunlight. A nice place to meet with friends and a quiet environment. The servers were friendly and the food took a bit of time to arrive but I was not in a hurry. Keep this in mind as you order because it's not the type of quick cafe eats. Although we had a group of 9, it did take a while to get our food served despite most of the meals being sandwiches. However, the food was excellent and the pricing was good as well and average for the area. Everyone was impressed with their meal.

First time visit yesterday. A bit confusing to find the cafe due to a lack of signage outside, so…read moreFYI: it's the entrance closest to Stone Oak Pkwy (the cafe is the large glass windows) The staff were really nice and very attentive. Not a lot of customers, so our service was quick. One sided menu but several items to choose from. -Pancakes were great-large & fluffy -Bacon was crispy...just ask we like it! -Asked for "hard-boiled eggs," but they were still good -Oatmeal was good & came with dried fruit/butter/brown sugar/chopped walnuts/steamed milk -Chix sandwich was great. A Hidden gem-clean, nice view & tucked on the church property...will return soon.
