I have to give it to them, their food and service is great. This was my second time ordering from this place. I always order Butter Chicken everywhere I go, but this time I requested it with medium spice; it was the perfect kick. I also ordered a side of Basmati Rice and Butter Naan. Lastly, you have to try their veggie samosas. My friend has never tried Indian food until a month ago and said "I can eat this everyday". I was craving Indian food on a Tuesday night, so I decided to check this place just around the corner from me. The ambiance is chill, TVs were playing Bollywood music videos which definitely added to the experience. Service was punctual and detailed. Ordered a mango lassi to drink which I inhaled before I even took a picture of it. The Keema samosas were okay, way too much lamb inside, probably a fist size equivalent of ground lamb. The mains were delicious though. Well seasoned and came out hot. Ordered the malai chicken and the lamb rogan josh. I love spicy food and the waiter informed me that the lamb rogan josh was the spiciest item on the menu. Had quite a kick but that's exactly what I wanted. I judge South Asian restaurants on they do their naan bread. The garlic naan was perfect. We ended up ordering a second one! For what we ordered, I believe we got good value. The mango lassis, samosas, 2 garlic naans, 2 entrees and gulab jamun (milk solids in simple syrup) came out to a little over $80. When asked for recs they weren't as straightforward, just kinda threw the question back at us (I always like to ask for recs to try the best or most popular dish). Many veggie options. Medium was the right amount of spice for me (it was pretty spicy!). Naan was amazing and fresh. The rice portion is huge and you can share it with 2-4 people. This restaurant is a hidden gem! Every time we've been our experience has been wonderful. The owners are so warm and welcoming, the food is authentic, and service is efficient. Found a new gem in the Oakbrook area! From making a reservation to leaving after dinner it was great experience. The owner Sue had excellent customer service and was very personable. They have all the Covid procedures down and take it very seriously. They just opened in March and need any and all the business they can get and they deserve it. The food was fresh, delicious, and the presentation was very nice. We had plenty of food and left feeling satisfied and full. We started with kale pakora and samosa- I suggest getting both, it was crispy soft, perfectly spiced and the chutneys were fresh and tasty. For dinner we had daal makhni, Malia kofta, paneer burgi, raita and assorted naan. All of it was made very well. The assorted naan was plenty and we had left over after 5 people ate. We were treated with ras malai for the birthday treat and it was perfect. We got dinner to go today from the Desi Accent. We ordered lamb seekh kabab, mangalorean shrimp curry,kerala fish curry , dal fry and malabar chicken biriyani. Ordering was easy, pick up in about half hour, friendly staff. The food tasted fresh and delicious. The shrimp curry with the right mix of spiciness and flavor was my favorite while the kids liked the fish curry with its coconut tinge. The biriyani was really good, though not sure if it's 100% malabar style. We also got the cochin kulukki and old town delhi beverage ...The former was refreshing and the latter with some added jamaican rum packed the right punch. We went on a Father's Day over here. They were nice enough to accommodate us a very last minute without any reservations on such a busy day. The food was absolutely delicious. But the service was a bit slow and I assumed that it was because it was on a super busy day and a weekend or maybe they were just short staffed. I'd like to give them a benefit of doubt about that. The lamb Rohan Josh, the Mango Malai Chicken Tikka, the Dal Fry, the Naan and Phurata and the Peas Pulao! Every single one of these dishes reminded me of the amazing cuisine I enjoy when I am traveling within the subcontinent! But besides the amazing cuisine, it was the warm and friendly atmosphere we experienced when we were here for dinner. It was as if we were in someone's home! Not only was Abi, their general manager welcoming and insightful when giving me menu suggestions, he also was so engaging when taking about his homeland! We had such a great conversation! Later as we were leaving and thanking everyone for a wonderful evening, we had the pleasure to speak with Sue, one of the owners who further confirmed why I chose this restaurant for my birthday! Today I had the lunch special with Navratan Korma; it also comes with dal, rice, naan/roti, and pakora. The price is a buffet price but the food was DELICIOUS. The dal was delicately spiced and the korma -the korma- subtle and delicious; made with what I believe to be cashew paste (as is traditional). The vegetables were fresh as was the lentils. The staff was polite, albeit not overly involved at the table. I say, overall, this was a wonderful experience. UPDATE 12/31/21: I took up the owner's offer to talk so called him. He apologized and offered a complimentary meal, which I appreciate. But what I appreciated more was that he listened to me when I said I was more interested in him adding an allergen warning to his menu the next time he reprints them and to perhaps put up a sign near the entrance. He sincerely agreed and said he was planning to do so--he even encouraged me to come back and check in that he honored his word. They were understaffed which happens and we are generally tolerant. But when two of our dishes came out 20 minutes before the rest of the food I had to say something. The hostess apologized but explained that our server thought we ordered them as appetizers. She asked if we had ordered them that way and we said no. They are not even in the appetizer list. Whatever. She kinda implied we may have caused the issue. We could get over that but what the real issue was that they had ent disclosed allergens and my son is allergic to tree nuts. He's 19 and conscious of his allergies but didn't think to ask about his dish. Turns out it was prepared with cashew butter. I had to run him to Target for Benadryl. Fortunately he was OK. When we returned the hostess offered to re-do the dish; this was her apology. When I pointed out they should list these allergens on the menu she said guests usually disclose their issues.
