This place is such a disappointment these days. I originally gave this place 4 stars awhile back, but my oh my how things have changed. As usual, my husband and I ordered online for pick-up and we should have known better since our last couple of visits, but it happened again! We got charged for a menu item, Chinese Broccoli, and upon arrival was told that the item was NOT in stock. If this is the case, they need to remove it from their menu and not allow customers to order. My husband verbally complained because this has happened multiple times now and the guy has the nerve to respond in a rude manner. Instead of acknowledging the customer complaint, he blamed the vendor for not having the food supply delivered. When my husband asked him if it was best to call and order, the guy's response was "no, we don't answer the phone". Talk about the lack of care and customer service. Additionally, if you don't ask for sauce, they won't provide it, so make sure you ask for all your condiments. This place can get away with rude service because they bank on conceived. With how the last couple of encounters have been, I think we're officially taking our business elsewhere. Fair warning to other yelpers, don't expect to always get what you order and friendly customer service here. If you're coming here, it's just because you don't want to dine in at a restaurant or tip. Haven't been here for a while. Must be new owner/operator and obviously different cooks. I used to love the Shu Mai and Lotus Sticky Rice here. Ordered these and other items. Obvious shrinkflation for the Shu Mai and the flavor was off. The Fried Pork Dumplings were dried out, fried too long. The flavoring on other items seemed to be different. I was expecting more from this small place nestled into the grocery store. The pricing was very affordable and I ended up ordering quite a lot as I have grown to love dim sum this year. Especially BBQ pork steam/baked buns. The girlfriend raved about this place and I had to try it with her. I bought at least $60 worth of dim sum here to try with the family. While it was good, it wasn't great. The fillings were either cold, or old. Some were fresh and hot though. This inconsistency however is what brought my rating from a 4* to a 3*. Very convenient little shop on the side of the market for some quick to-go dim sum. The portions are large, but some of the flavors are a little off from traditional Cantonese dim sum. I'll start with the chicken feet and lotus sticky rice. The chicken feet lacked the black bean sauce and the sticky rice had a weird minty/bitter flavor. I can't put my finger on what it is, but that's not how a typical loa mai fan should taste. On the pro side, the siu mai is pretty large with ample amount of transitional ingredients. The footballs (tho smaller than usual) had great flavor and mochi chew to it. The seaweed shrimp rolls are also really good (get 3 per order). Ran out of beef noodle roll and gave us shrimp instead. The noodle roll came with no sauce. Bland tasting and they are stingy on sauce here. They do not like to give you dipping sauces here and expect you to buy their hot sauce which is not really good either. Their chinese broccoli sauce is also not the oyster sauce. This place is amazing. Came here because I saw a video talking about the crispy pork belly. Have returned many times because their dim sum is just so good! All of their dumplings are amazing and their egg rolls are some of the best I've ever had! I love that we can order online and then go pick it up! This is a pickup only spot, no dine-in seating. On a busy weekend we did order online and when we arrived they told us that they were out of certain items, they asked us what we wanted to swap the missing items for and had our order ready within a few minutes. This place is tucked in a small corner of the Viet supermarket, while the parking here is horrendous, I was lucky enough to find one tucked in the corner, away from some of these folks who were in a rush to get their business going on. I was not predicting that this place would be crazy packed during Mother's Day, BIG mistake. As with any dim sum place that is economical, the price is really good. You see people lining up and getting frustrated because some of the items they have ordered were out of stock! There is no place to sit and eat, this is a "to-go" only place. It took me about 30 minutes to order and finally get my food. We ordered the Phoenix Claws ($4.29), Spareribs ($4.29), Pokebuns ($4.99), Giant Pork Bun ($2.99), and Crescent Dumplings ($4.29). First of all, all the items are kind of small. Second, I was so disappointed that my pokebuns did not have eyes, which was the only reason I wanted to come here and order them. The only thing that's worth getting here is the Giant Pork Bun. This is a great option for dim sum! It's located on the side door of the supermarket. You'll see a line forming usually in the morning and especially on the weekend. It means it's good! Parking can be difficult, but I think it's worth it if you're craving their xiu mai. Their Xiu Mai (pork and shrimp dumpling) is the one thing that's a staple for me. It's my favorite savory item. It's juicy, meaty, and has a good amount of shrimp. If there was nothing else available and just this xiu mai, I would be content. Something about it makes it the best thing on the menu. The taste and texture bring me nostalgia from eating dim sum as a toddler at a Chinese restaurant where they would push the carts around filled with goodies. That's when I knew what xiu mai should taste like, hot, steamy, bursting with flavor - and this place got it right! Side note: Do not forget to ask for chili oil with your order. Another honorable mention is the egg tart. The Egg Tart is a dessert with a flaky light crust with an egg custard-like filling, and dim sum would not be the same without this to end my meal. This is probably the only food that tastes and hits the same from when I was a child to now as an adult. The sweet, delicate dessert is just as I remembered it tasting as a kid, and it has not changed one bit. It's like I have the same taste bud as a kid, or it's just that darn good. The Dim Sum restaurant does not disappoint. Every time I order the Xiu Mai and Egg Tart, it has been consistent. On the side of the My Thuan Market in Westminister, you can find the Dim Sum Co. At the doorway is where you order and this is only a to-go establishment. No seating available on the outside either. While you are standing in line, they do have a QR code you can scan to take a look at the menu and you can also order online on their website. We went to during a Friday morning and the wait wasn't very long but I am sure if you went in the evening or weekend, the wait would be much longer. The items we decided on were the pork and shrimp dumplings, rice noodle rolls with shrimp, Lotus leaf sticky rice, Crispy pork belly, fried taro puff, and the egg custard bun. Everything we had was portioned well, flavorful, and reasonably priced for what we ordered. The only thing I may have been a little disappointed in was the fried taro puff. This is usually a favorite of mine but it was incredibly dry tasting. Other than this, I'd order everything I ordered and hope the next time they would have their fried crescent dumplings available. Another favorite! My only other gripe would be that my daughter ordered their Thai Tea float and although it was good, there was barely any of the drink as the cup was filled with the brim with ice. Hello everyone, Happy Saturday So yesterday I decided I was in the mood for Dim Sum, I use "Yelp" to assist me with what's in the area for what ever I'm needing at the time. This was my first time going to "The Dim Sum" and was anxious and excited to try this place out. I ordered 12 of the pork Xiu Mai (3 orders - making sure I emphasized to the gentleman there I wanted the pork not the combo pork/shrimp) and 3 of the Xiu Mai Bao (1 oder) of the steamed Pork buns. When I got to my destination to meet friends for lunch, I then realized that I received the combo of pork/shrimp Xiu Mai and 3 of my friends are allergic to shell fish, We proceeded to have lunch and we were all disappointed and disconnected with the taste of their products. I will never go back again, the business looks uninviting and sectioned off like when businesses had to do when we had to live through shopping restrictions during COVID-19, limiting the number of people allowed to be in the area. I decided to give them a try anyways, because I truly believe you cannot judge a book by it's cover, and most times the hole in the places are actually a pleasant surprise. However, here?! What you see is what you get, I will never go back to this place of business again, I tried it and it failed, I wasted my time and money and was disappointed with the products, I couldn't even eat them, they were bland with no flavor and I received what I didn't ask for. Previously we've gotten dim sum from here and been very happy with the quality but I was really disappointed with our order 2 days ago. I ordered almost $60 of dim sum to take to my sister for her birthday and half of it was cold and dry. We picked up shortly after they opened in the morning- 8:15 and I was expecting the dim sum to be fresh but I think it was leftovers from the previous day. Located right on the side of a Vietnamese market but there was a good amount of parking around! Craving some dim sum, but wasn't in the mood to physically go anywhere. Their shop is easy to find and it's inside a supermarket, but there's a window area on the outside/side. I Door dash-ed from here shortly after they opened. Order was processed quickly and delivered to me by the allotted time. I ordered 3 orders of shiu mai, 3 orders of shrimp dumpling, their combo noodles, 2 ordered of custard buns, and 2 orders of BBQ pork buns. Everything tasted fresh just as I was expecting them to except the bbq pork buns and the sweet custard buns. It tasted old, dry, and chewy. Not soft and moist like I remembered. The bbq pork was dry inside and lack of filling. The ratio of meat to the bun is noticeably there as you get majority dough and not so much meat. The custard buns were the same way. Small amount of custard and more dough. Not what I remembered! I use to love these--- the filling and dough ratio was just right and the custard filled out more, so you get a cohesive bite. The fillings weren't over cooked so everything liters melted in your mouth. My experience this time around was different. It truly felt like these buns were a day old!!!! I removed a lot of dough in order to taste the filling. Needless to say, I won't be ordering these buns ever again. So disappointed. Fried shrimp and chive dumplings (weekends only) were nice and filled with shrimp, but maybe not worth getting it fried since it was kinda soggy even though we ate it in the car right after getting our order.
