Oh what fun! I didn't know what to expect going into this, but I was pleasantly surprised at how much fun we were all having. The case itself was interesting and fun to solve, but it was the actors that made it an absolute blast. Truly talented, kind and hilarious people were a part of our show. I found myself laughing more than I have in a while, which is always wonderful! I am taking a star away for food because it was a bit mediocre honestly. I found chicken to be a bit over cooked and chewy. But I am glad the appetizers were tasty. Of course, this experience is more about the show/experience than the food. So if you're considering going, just do it!

    Are there age restrictions?

Yes. all of our events have an Age Requirement of 15 and older.

Weird question but - is this a good way to introduce future in-laws to each other for the first time?? We are wondering if we'll have the opportunity to talk, hear each other, etc. throughout the entertainment, or if it will require constant focus.

Actually, this really could be the perfect thing to do! There are multiple breaks throughout the show, leaving ample opportunities to chat and get to know each other. But at the same time, it is the perfect ice breaker as the show is very much a…

I had no idea it was in SoCal so we got to go here for dinner one night while we were in town during Labor Day weekend. He bought tickets for us online for a Friday night. They have a parking lot with people directing where to park. It was busy with lots of people waiting in line. A great deal of people dressed up! Nice. We didn't dress up. Lol.. I had brought a dress that could work, but I didn't change into it. Inside the dining room, it was freezing! Super cold. I'm glad that I was wearing my jacket, but my boyfriend was feeling pretty cold. I'm not a fan of eating with my hands so I wasn't too thrilled about the eating experience, but... that's why I brought handsanitizer. Plus, they also provided hand wipes as well so that was good. The food... We really liked the chicken. It was tender fall off the bone and flavorful. The other items were pretty good as well. Service was attentive and pretty friendly. We were seating with this group of people who were probably GenZers. They were super enthusiastic and kept "scuba-ing" and yelling absurd phrases. Smh... I enjoyed the experience of seeing the show. The actors and horses were amazing! This is definitely a fun night outing type of place. :)

Medieval Times definitely is doing things well. I went with my family and we all had a great time. The food was good and filled me up and to-go boxes were provided if needed. Drinks were priced reasonably and merchandise is readily available to purchase. The facility looks and feels in good repair and for how long this business has been opened, it looks good. Bathrooms were kept clean and are in working order. The arena is well equipped with sound and lights and I didn't feel like there is a bad seat. The performing artists were entertaining and gave us a good show! My advice would be to have fun with it, go with a group if possible and to dress up! Many people had the attire of the medieval time period on and they looked great! I would recommend Medieval Times to those looking for fun dinner entertainment. We all had a great time!

Now in 2023 performing La Cage, Drag Show, very loosely referring to the movie La Cage aux Folles. Announce yourself to the reception. Pass through a bookcase disguised door like at the Magic Castle and enter a crimson velvet tinged world of Cabaret.  Comfortable sofas for the big ballers while the rest of us are relegated to tall bar stools with no back. Don't get too toasted & sloshed or you could fall back backwards.  3 man band starts playing stalwarts of the American Song Book about 15 minutes before show time at 7pm. The doors open at 6pm. The 2nd show starts at 9pm.  You can order a short list of bar food, and there is a full bar, but obviously no loud blender to disrupt the show which runs around 90 minutes. So it is possible to dine before or after at French influenced Shirley where you get a 15% discount showing your La Cage tickets.  Then doing a post prandial libation at the Lounge or an alcohol based Milk Shake at 25° to make it a full evening at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. Drag is a venerable art form. In Shakespeare's time, the Globe Theatre had only male actors so Drag was de rigueur as well as the ancient Japanese Kabuki Theatre which is still all male to this day.  Host Tommi Rose, 47 year Drag veteran originally from the La Cage aux Folles Night Club in the 1980's as well as at famous Finocchio's in San Francisco during the 1970's, does a flurry of 13 costume changes ending with a silver beaded dress weighing 28 lbs.  A Marilyn Monroe, who is a dead ringer to the original, performs flawlessly channeling her inner Monroe. Lady Gaga makes an appearance lip synching to songs when she sang with Tony Bennett. The in between acts had a "Cabaret" Berlinesque feel that Liza Minelli would have been pleased.  The Torch Song finale was a rousing, feel good rendition of "I Am What I Am" from the song originally introduced in the Broadway musical La Cage aux Folles.  It was a poignant song that makes no apology nor excuse for who we are. And that is the way it should be.  Enjoy the Drag!!!  PS Get rid of the annoying two pillars blocking the view of the stage.

You are placed in a line and photos are taken and offered as a souvenir for $40. Upon entering the banquet space, you create your "alias" on a name tag to wear throughout your dinner & show. There are audience actor plants & obvious actors who play out the scenes during the dinner service. Each clue is guided by a host and clues are posted on the "wall" (this is virtual clues that you'll scan with your QR code that they place at your tables.) you eventually receive all the clues you need to form your guess on "who done it." It was silly, fun & a nice evening. The actors did a good job & dinner was perfectly fine given the preset menu provided upon your ticket purchase. With my allergy, I was provided a ticket to place at my table so that I would not be served plates with nuts. We were served coffee, tea & water, bread, salad, entree & a dessert (walnut chocolate chip cookies but I was served fruit d/t my allergy). Our table had a nice time investigating bc we were pretty sure someone at our table was the murderer. You'll have to call in to let them know that you have a Groupon deal. Went for the last showing of the night so we could enjoy more of the evening and not feel like we would be hurried out for the next group. Upon arrival, the parking lot was full, both the one on top and bottom. Tried the street, but it was permit parking only. Noticed some Porto's customers were parking in this lot as well. I thought it was a paid to park lot. There are some parking spots, but everyone double parks over the line, so each parking space was a tight squeeze, we had no choice, but to squeeze in. When you check in at the window they will print your receipt for your booking and charge you $8 parking on their lot. Honestly there's no one checking the lot, but it's out first time, so we do. Paid extra and bought an upgraded ticket, so we're guaranteed a good seat and it came with a headband, beaded necklace and discount on their photo package. Once you enter you get your photos taken and then you are ushered to the giftshop or bar area. By the way the giftshop area is where you will enter the stage/dining area. Who knew?!?! Luckily there are people who will take you to your seat so you're not lost. You are seated by team colors. The server there, Darla, was really nice. She got our drinks, and meals in the timely basis. The only thing that took a while when you're at your seat was the appetizer and bar drinks. The appetizer was another server; the onion rings was not great, pretty soggy. The bar drink person took the longest. Was half way into the main entree when that server came to get the order. I would have liked towards the beginning after being seated to enjoy. Plus it was very stuffy and hot. Mind you the alcoholic drinks were expensive at $21 each, but you get to keep your souvenir glass. You're not here for the food, but rather the show. Food is not bad, it's like a quarter of a rotisserie chicken with boiled veggies, mashed potatoes, salad, and a slice of cake at the end. It's very kid friendly and entertaining with acrobats, singing, and sword fighting. Depending on your team color you cheer on for your pirate color. Go team orange! I haven't even attended, eaten or been in the Buena Park area yet and she already made such a horrible impression of her company. I'll review them separately. Brown Betties: When was the last time you saw an amazing burlesque show?? If you haven't seen the Brown Betties, you are in for a TREAT!! The writing, acting, singing, and dancing were spectacular! I loved the show because their talent held the audience's attention while capturing many of the experiences men and women have in relationships, and giving fair attention to both. My friend and I left raving about the show, and telling our friends not to miss out when they have another chance to attend! My only advice is that I would get the dinner/seat reservations in advance if they are available...the food was excellent, and the show is even more enjoyable with a seat!! I would definitely attend again in the future, and hope new shows are offered. These incredibly talented women provide entertainment with a twist in all the right places! BYOB (Be Your Own Betty): The Brown Betties hosted a wonderful private party for my birthday a few days after their show. Having seen their moves on stage, I knew I would not be disappointed! However, my expectations were exceeded! They were professional, reaching out to me before the event to answer questions, help with advertising, and asked for my preferences regarding refreshments (which were amazing!!). On the day of the event, they came early to set everything up, and did a beautiful job transforming our space. The women were very gracious, and my friends quickly felt comfortable with them. They did a spectacular job of leading us through exercises that had a profound impact on how we viewed ourselves as women--my friends are still talking about this experience to this day! They also taught us routines and moves that helped us find our "Inner Betties". Finally, they had a few tricks up their sleeves to make sure we would never forget this day, and that the lessons we learned would help make us better women to ourselves. At the end, I felt that the entire experience was entertaining and personally valuable...reflecting lessons and experiences I wanted to share with my friends...I didn't have to do any of the heavy lifting for my party, and was able to truly enjoy it as a guest! I recommend the BYOB experience for a special birthday, ladies night, bachelorette party, or whatever you have in mind. Gather your friends, then call Brown Betties...these women have it covered!!!
