I made two mistakes upon noticing that I had a leak at the main waste pipe from the house's only commode. I called my "trusted plumber" and another firm which I had never called before. My trusted plumber broke a hole in my wall before telling me 10 days later they don't do the work. Then I called a regular Red White and Blue, big company. That company tried to sell me a fix for the world rather than my corner of it. The ordeal with those two took 3 weeks and the whole time I could not use water in the house comfortably. On the other hand Then I meet "The Drain Guys" Jay and Dustin who were superb. Jay visited in the morning as promised, asked questions, correctly diagnosed and advised how The Drain Guys would fix it and save me multiple thousand$. It has been 5 days now and I don't have a drop of water on the floor nor a foul smell that was lingering constantly. If I need work for a drain in the future, I will call the drain guys again. I'm not sure if I will call my "trusted plumber", but I will never call that red, white and blue firm and tell everybody that will listen not to flush their money down the drain. read more

I needed a sewer camera inspection for a home I'm purchasing, and it was easy to request a quote and appointment, and they also gave me the first appointment of the day to minimize the time my real estate agent would have to be there with me. I am APPALLED with the audacity of this company! I had to let our contractor go after he chipped our brand new bathtub during the renovation of our bathroom, and luckily he had already previously installed the internal components for my shower/tub combo, including the diverter, drain, etc. The only service I was asking for was to have the shower head and tub faucet installed, and the technician who arrived quoted me at $600!!!! for what would easily be half an hour to an hour at MOST to install a shower head and a tub faucet?! Repaired water main leak in Sept. The contractor overcharged for the job, proposed additional $8800 repair that proved not needed, and almost flooded my basement. 1) Overcharge: There is a water main leak under HVAC. Jay estimated to cost $4500 to repair the leak and I was told it was a one-day job. I agreed. I though it is a big job for a $4500 job. The next day, only one technician came to do the job. They charge more than $4000 a day (parts cost less than $500). 2) Almost flood basement because of incompetent of technician: The technician replaced a segment of the pipe. But there was leak at the connection. It needs to reconnect. However, the technician forgot to turn off the main water. Water flooded part of the basement. Technician rushed to turn of the main water that is more than 200 ft away from the house. The damage was limited because the basement area was not finished. 3) Propose a $8800 repair for a problem that is not existed. While the trench was full of water because of the flooding. The technician claimed that there are more leaks somewhere upstream of the repaired location. Jay demanded that I must pay the $4500 because they repaired leak around HVAC even though the job still not completed (trench was not backfill, water pressure was low) and ask for additional $8800 to replace main water line. After technician was left, I scooped out all the water from the trench and absorbed all the remaining water using a sponge. It was a Friday. Over the two days weekend, no more leaks from upstream pipe and the trench were dry. I later refilled the trench myself and there was. No more leaks after another month. The Drain Guys propose a $8800 repair for a problem that is not existed. It is either incompetent or fraud. In summary, The contractor charged more than $4000 for one technician for one day, proposed additional $8800 repair that proved not needed, and almost flooded my basement. I give a 2 start because they did fix the leak around HVAC. read more

These guys are great!! I just moved and my kitchen sinks completely clogged up!! I called another plumber who came out hours late 3 separate times and couldn't fix it. He was talking about opening up my walls to look into it all further. Instead, I called THE DRAIN GUYS who were in touch with me immediately and scheduled an appointment for early the next morning. They brought the appropriate equipment and solved the problem within a couple of hours by snaking it with a grinder snake and even changed the pipes under the sink to avoid another different type of problem that looked apparent to my new plumber, Chris from THE DRAIN GUYS! We had a leak coming through our entryway wall and had no idea how it started or where the leak was actually coming from. The Drain Guys were able to come the same day we called to diagnose the issue, which was difficult in our tiny row house. It ended up being a long-term small drip leak inside the wall between floors caused by poor installation. Parker showed us exactly where the leak was, walked us through what caused it, and gave a really detailed explanation of what was needed to fix it. They were quickly able to give us a quote to fix the issue, which was very reasonable. When fixing the leak, he was communicative the whole time and there were no surprises in terms of what they were going to do and where exactly in the walls they had to cut. After their work I am confident that we won't have the same issue and they left the area in better shape than it was before. Our water heater died on the Friday of Labor Day Weekend. So frustrating to try to get good plumbers, even on a good day!!!! My regular plumber did not answer an emergency number, so I went on Yelp where I found excellent reviews for "The Drain Guys." I had no idea if they were the "real deal" or just another bunch of guys with wrenches. I called on Friday night and the owner answered his personal cell. 8:00 am, the service plumber arrived, diagnosed the problem (needed a new water heater), gave us a reasonable estimate (I am a realtor, so I know the industry) and advised that he would TRY to get the new hot water heater on Monday (Labor Day), although he was unsure if he could find someone open on Sunday, and it would probably be Tuesday. Well, to our surprise, the tech asked his distributor if he would open especially for him on Saturday (the day after we called), and he did. In less than 24 hours from my first call--ON LABOR DAY WEEKEND (AND SATURDAY)-- we had our new water heater delivered and installed on Saturday night! The plumber was very polite and respectful--worked non-stop for about 6 hours, not including running to pick up the water heater and parts. We were ecstatic and grateful. We had this company come out to fix a hose leak under our kitchen sink. They came out on a Tuesday and were unable to fix the sink that day because they picked up the wrong part that afternoon. We were told that the sink would be fixed on Wednesday, and then again on Thursday, and then again on Friday. We ordered the part ourselves on Wednesday through Amazon for Thursday delivery just to make sure we had the part in hand in case they didn't get the part as promised. After multiple messages and calls to the owner on Friday they sent someone out to fix the sink. Dustin who came to fix our sink was nice and did the job. My wife asked the owner to talk to me to arrange a payment reduction since we had suffered through several days without a working kitchen sink. He responded by telling my wife that he would have Dustin remove the hose he had installed if payment was not immediately made. After a back and forth we did ultimately pay a reduced price.
