The technicians arrived right on schedule. They were extremely courteous and I asked them to explain the process before they began. The cleaning was thorough as they meticulously went through each vent and the main duct system. As expected there was a slight smell when starting the furnace back up (not dissimilar to how it might smell after being off all summer) but that cleared up quickly. We haven't had them cleaned in the 12 years we've been here (I know, I know...) but I really expected them to be worse. They even replaced the filters on the furnace (I provided them). The pricing was reasonable and comparable to similar services. It took about 3 hours for a 3k sq ft house. We also had them clean out the dryer vent.

An hour later after working on our 25 plus year old furnace, what a change came over him! All smiling and chatty, sharing stories about his family, health etc. Well this cheeriness was all about that old furnace downstairs. And the commission I suspect the company pays if his aggressive sales pitch​ for a new furnace prompts my call for an estimate. Aggressive sales pitch I did get along with a red tag on the furnace. Apparently there was a small leak in the heat converter but no carbon monoxide was detected. He informed me that he had to turn the gas off due to this finding but I could turn it back on myself. Fine. Towards evening I turned the gas back on but no heat. He'd flipped off both the main power and a switch for the blower located by removing the cover to the burner compartment. Turned on thermostat. Still no heat. ​ I called A Temp customer service and told them the problem. The guy said nope...we can't come fix it because you have a red tag. I start losing it and he puts me on hold. After consulting with someone he says he can send an estimator out the next day for a bid on the repair work. Now I really lose it. I get put on hold again. Now I'm finally offered a tech in the morning for repair. By the way, the night temp was in the mid 30s. Next morning the tech shows up and quickly finds the problem. Wiring to the blower had been disconnected. The wire was hanging conspicuously in the air....something that couldn't possibly have happened by accident. Wow. It's hard to imagine the ethics of someone who tampers with your property and leaves you in the cold that night. I noticed several nice reviews citing "oh its a wonderful family owned business"...well, the Mafia is a family business too.

The return job was completed somewhat satisfactorily. When they returned to complete the job, the owner kept making statements about me updating the review to 5 stars in exchange for coming back and completing the original job. Read the 4 star review on here, as it was the same with that person as it was with us. Just like everyone elses negative reviews the Groupon is a bait and switch. They came to our house told us everything was very dirty and that everything will need to be brushed no vacuumd so our Groupon was worthless. $450 for a half done job(see pictures of AFTER the original work was done). We requested a detailed invoice of the service and when we didn't receive it I called to find out what the delay was. The person I spoke to just kept reiterating the same thing over and over. How dirty everything was and how they cleaned it and I was to prove to him where it was still dirty. Mind you he was looking at this very same review while on the phone. The last red flag that is they only take venmo AND it goes to a private individual under the name Marlene Gomez Perez. Please do not use this company.
