The Escape Game - Escape Games Near Me - Orange, California

My brothers and I visited The Escape Game recently, and it was a fun and memorable experience. The rooms were well structured and the attention to detail was excellent. Other escape rooms we've done have had some shabby work or puzzles, but these puzzles were extremely professional. The only downside was that we had to book as last minute as possible to ensure that no one else was in the room with us. We've done around 60 escape rooms in different states and cities, and not one had a shared escape room policy before. It really did not sit well with us that it could be shared if we booked in advance and were proactive. Additionally, the website for booking does not tell you that the room is shared and you may be subject to playing with other players unless you go to the FAQ section. It should be a checkbox at checkout. Also, The Escape Game touches on this and says "If you want a private room, just book all of the slots!" Yeah, my family and I are not crazy enough to pay for 5 empty slots. And it just kind of felt like a jab to players that would like to play privately. It's obvious that if we paid for all the slots no one else would be able to book. So, we have to book as last minute as possible, and the uncertainty just leaves us all feeling unsettled. Overall, great rooms and puzzles, terrible booking policies. Pick your battle. read more

This was the best escape room ever!!!! The workers were amazing and went out of their way to help us find coupons! We did the heist room which is medium level, the room was really creative and thoughtful. Everything in the room had a purpose, the best part was there was unlimited hints, which we definitely needed! Will definitely come back to try all the rooms! Money well spent! i had an awesome time here! our game master was named Julian and he was super sweet and awesome. we managed to escape somehow but the couple we were with highkey carried. we did the timeliner: train through time and it was really really fun. i completely recommend this escape room because it was really interactive and interesting even though it was confusing at times. we were a bit slow at the beginning so i think the gamemaster gave us a hint even though we didn't click the button LOL. playing an escape room reminds me every day how i am not a genius. read more

Intricate and fun themed rooms, much more elaborate than other places we've tried. The locations in Orange and Irvine have some rooms that are unique to each location, we went to both and the experience was fun every time. read more

My mom and I had a great time yesterday at the Escape Game. We did The Depths and it was our third escape room but first at this location. It was doable for two people but (without providing any spoilers) the final task is very tricky for less than four people. We did use some hints but I think this room is manageable for people who are new to escape rooms. They also do not guarantee that rooms with less than eight people will be private, though ours ended up as just the two of us. Our game guide Derek was excellent, provided great hints, and was very friendly and nice. They also surprised me with a card signed by all of the staff since we went for my birthday. Another nice element was that the door leading out of the escape room was not actually locked, so if you need to step out for any reason you are more than able to do so. This is also a great location, nestled in by the Nike store at the Outlets at Orange and only a few miles away from Disneyland. We are definitely eager to go back, though we will probably have a larger group next time to make it a little easier. read more

The staff are excellent and the customer service they provide to make sure this is a positive experience was outstanding. My only caution is that additional people can be added to your group if you do not book the entire room- this is clearly stated during the booking process and is very real. read more
