My husband and I tried this restaurant for the first time on a whim and we were deliciously pleased. I only wished I had taken pictures as the portions were of an ample size. Mini corn muffins were served before the meal. I ordered the Barbecue Taster with double pulled pork. The pulled pork was very tasty and tender. The ribs were a testament to falling off the bone. My husband ordered the 1/2 Rack of Hickory Smoked Grilled Ribs and remarked about how tender they were and how good the corn muffins were. I'm just now returning from the single worst experience I've ever had associated with a simple take-out order from a restaurant. The order was not complex; only comprising of 3 meals. The initial indication was "your order will be ready in 45 minutes." I arrived 45 minutes later and was told it would be "maybe another 15 minutes." Fifteen minutes later I was told "I'll go check on the order for you, sir." That person never returned. Fast forward another hour; I was apologized to and offered a soda for my patience. I waited another 20 minutes and asked that my order by cancelled. Now, after 8 PM I need to figure out what I'm going to feed my wife and child. Obviously, no one is going to starve. However, this was not a matter of "patience" this was overt incompetence on the part of the restaurant. Loved this place!! The service was fast and friendly. Food was super yum! We started with the hush puppies and honey butter. SO GOOD!! I brought a few home with what was left of the honey butter. The right mix of soft inside and crunchy outside. Great flavor! Hubby had the Gordon. A bbq sandwich with 6 wings. He said the bbq was pretty good. But we both LOVED the wings. I got mine naked and finished in the grill. So good even without the sauces they offer. My favorite is the Alabama White sauce. Hubby liked the NC style with pepper flakes the best. Came to eat for dinner and the place was full, but they were enforcing COVID standards. We were seated right away and on our way in they we saw that they had curbside pickup. Out waitress was Kristen and shout out to her because she was awesome. She was on top of everything for everyone. She chatted and made suggestions. She was quick and made sure we were taken care of. We got the Barbecue Taster which too came out fairly quickly and hot. I really could not complain about anything. It all had good flavor. The mac-n- cheese was cheesy and creamy. The baked beans had pork which added to the flavor. The beans were on the thicker side. The ribs were fall off the bone and good. A lot of BBQ places focus strictly on the meat but this place takes care to offer well-thought out sides as well as a wide variety of options on the menu. In addition to that, they offer my favorite NC vinegar based BBQ sauce, which is not always seen at BBQ places and much appreciated. They also have many local, microbreweries on tap and a very large beer list as well as a nice wine list if that's what you're looking for. But the real standout for me is service here. I cannot say it enough, service must be the star of the show to standout with all the competition in the area. We had a table of 8 and our server was so prompt, friendly and anticipated our every need. And almost every encounter I had with a staff member was pleasant and helpful, I can't say enough how far excellent service goes. I ordered the wings that come with one taco and it doesn't come with a side which was disappointing for the price of the entree. The wings were good and had a good smoke flavor. I had mine with the spicy garlic and the smoke flavor with the garlic kind of clashed. And I tried the honey Sriracha shrimp tacos. Tacos are usually small these were like quesadillas! Not too spicy either. Took one home. Had the 4 cheese mac and cheese for a side. Super ooey gooey and rich. Finished that. We also had fried pickles and queso dip. My daughter, son, and friend's daughter inhaled those.
