Coming in on a Sunday after church it was a tad bit busy but they were very welcoming. I chose to sit at the bar and the bartender/waitress was so sweet and attentive to all of my needs. I wanted to give it five stars because it's such a pretty place with warm vibes of yellow, blue, cloud designs, and characters painted on the wall. It has that free-spirited feeling I love so much. Plus, the service is top-notch, with several waitresses making sure you are alright and sitting you quickly. But, as you can see, my food looked good, and it was, which says a lot because my food came out cold. I honestly think the Chef cracked the eggs on my plate instead of the skillet. I asked for sausage, but I got bacon. Well, that's fine. I added a side order of sausages, and they came out pretty quickly and were cold, too. But I'm sure the food issue was a mistake because I saw everyone else digging into their food like it was hot, smoking ready. We have been to Flying Biscuit in Atlanta. It's always crowded too. This one though had lots of tables opened and a 20 min wait, never understand that but maybe the kitchen needed to catch up? Our waitress was not on her game today, it appeared. We sat waiting to order drinks for a good minute and the waitress came and took it but disappeared. Another waitress, Trinity, stepped in and asked if we had been helped. We said yes but don't know where the other went. Finally, we got our drinks and ordered. Order wasn't right. As we waited for the food, Trinity noticed that my coffee cup sat emptied and said oh you need more coffee! Trinity wasn't our waitress but definitely made sure we were good. The food here is a 10/10! Even though we waited a little longer than expected (especially since it wasn't busy), every bite was worth it. I had the Parmesan truffle fries, biscuit and gravy, and grits and those grits were outstanding. Creamy, salty, dreamy, made with white cheddar and half & half... Looking for a new breakfast for lunch place and this place did not impress much. The interior is clean and we liked the ambiance. Took awhile to get an order placed and the service was more like an afterthought. When the food did arrive, that is where things started to go downhill quickly. My dirty bird waffle was overly dense with three very small chicken tenders with one still having the gristle. The eggs arrived after food was served and the chicken sausage gravy was cold and not super flavorful. On my daughter's biscuit and gravy, the gravy was so salty you couldn't eat it. I'm a huge fan of the Flying Biscuit. I believe this might be a newer locatuon. I like the location, it's really nice. The food was okay. Not as good as the location near Memorial City Mall, but they could still be working on that. No worries. The food wasn't bad, just not as good. Lakera was the bartender, which also made her my server while sitting at the bar. She was very nice. And, when I asked for water while having a tumbler water with me, she is literally the first person to EVER offer to fill my tumbler instead of giving me a glass. I appreciate that attention to detail. One thing that annoyed me is that there was a child there, maybe around 10-14 years old. He was kicking around a soccer ball inside the restaurant. He must have been an employee's/manager's child because the servers were chatting with him and also kicking the soccer ball around. It was not bad and not great. First it was a grand opening week so it was busy so it a wait time. I understand. But the service should have been trained for this. It was chaotic first day the guy bar with dreads is not good slow and not professional, but thanks the other black guy helped him. The guy at bar couldn't deal with pick up order and people waiting for him to get refill coffee or drinks, needs for food items. But the 2 other times was better at the table with staff were better. The shrimp and grits meal was delicious and our biscuits were hot and fresh! I will recommend that meal! Didn't like the stuffed fresh toast nor the Hangover Hash, but it was only $1 so what to say. Forgot take a picture of Hangover Hash I didn't eat it all it was not pleasing for me. Loud place so ambiance was lower but it was staff were loud. It was busy during the breakfast time. Well... I was looking for a brunch spot on Thursday outside of the city. Stumbled across some pics of the Flying Biscuit Cafe food. The food looked amazing from the pics. But upon visiting it was a different story. Entered the restaurant was seated. The waitress tried to see me all the way in the back of the restaurant by the flow of the kitchen and the bar. I did not like that so I asked to be moved. Then I noticed that everyone in the restaurant was sitting beside someone else, even though the restaurant was pretty empty. I ordered the hangover hash and a peach mimosa. My friend ordered the stuffed French toast. Our waiter was a young fella can't remember his name cause I don't think he even told us his name. The hangover has was a little spicy, but it was good. The stuff French toast was OK, but it really wasn't hot. And I would think a restaurant that's called the flying biscuit that the biscuit would be A1, but the biscuit was not. We were trying to figure out what was going on with the grits, but I don't know what it was. It just wasn't it. I have never had grits that reminded me of mashed potatoes. read more
