Overall fun new place my wife and I tried. People were extremely friendly, food was great and service constant, always on top and checked on us often. There's easy parking out back, and right as we walked in the front door, the bartender greeted us with a giant smiling welcome. It was such a nice night out, we decided to work our way past the indoor seating and sat our back. We were immediately greeted again and given a QRcode to scan for the menu. We already knew we wanted to try the Scottish Egg (Had never had one and thought it would be fun) and then found more than enough fun options on the menu to try. We also got potato skins (cooked perfectly), my wife got fish and chips and I got the Steak and Ale Pie. The Scottish Egg was so cool. Not exactly sure what the breading is on the outside, but it was delicious. It came with some sides (some sort of sweet pickle type dip, cheese and pos onions?) It was delicious by itself, but I also took bites with the cheese and the pickle topping and it was great. My Steak and Ale was damn good, too. Nice flakey pastry crust on the top and more than enough filling to take care of my needs. Had a side of fries with it and all though all were not perfectly cooked, the majority of them hit the spot:) Look forward to going again and bringing my family and friends. We love this place! Been coming here for YEARS! The vibe is great. Drinks are great. Staff are great. We're Monday night regulars and Bryce who bar tends is always so friendly and professional and really makes you feel welcome. Mateo is a bar back and runner extraordinaire! When we come, we admittedly don't come for the food. It is ok but nothing to write home about. But we were PLEASANTLY surprised last Saturday night. Meh..... I live in the neighborhood, and I've been coming here for years! I had to sit outside due to me having small dogs and I was seated by myself at a table next to a large group who then wanted to use my table as a "trash table" while I was sitting there. Came here for a comedy show recently but I am pretty sure I have been before. Place is a good size and the comedy show was outside. There was one waitress and a food runner for the whole show, they were both very nice. I got a Shirley temple and hubby got beer. If you're looking for a laid back spot to watch some games and have a beer with someone, I definitely recommend this spot. Bathrooms are always kept maintained. Bartenders have always been very welcoming and friendly, I have never received a bad attitude from any. Only usually come here with my boyfriend and his buddies and their shenanigans. This is one of our favorite spots! We've brought British friends who say it's the real deal (aside from English mac and cheese on the menu.... that isn't a thing!) and it's homey, comfortable, and with great service. They have a great draft beer selection, including a few English beers I've never seen anywhere else. My fave menu items are the fish and chips, chicken curry pie, shepherd's pie, and steak and ale pie. They have a good happy hour and patio seating in the front, back, and side of the bar. Wednesdays are trivia nights, and we've been gathering groups of friends to go. I'm not great at trivia, but it's set up to include such a weird variety of subjects that everyone on your team is able to participate, and it doesn't make me feel as dumb as other trivia nights sometimes do. Came to watch the euro cup and there was a line of 30 people outside 50 mins before kick off. 30mins before, they started letting people in with a $5 cover charge. Some people had tickets already, but we bought ours at the gate because we didn't know. It's dark inside with a small area to sit and they opened up the outside area in the back but it wasn't covered enough with the sun so we stayed indoors. It feels old and dirty and not very welcoming. The waitress was nice and it was busy so she tried her best to check on us but we only saw her a few times. After the second game began we ordered food and my friend ordered 10mins after me, but got his food within 15mins. After 30mins I asked the waitress and she was surprised I hadn't received my food. She said she'll check on it and never came back. 5mins later I asked another server and he said the order was placed 15mins ago, but I told him it had been over 30mins and walked off before I could explain that the waitress must have forgotten and placed my order when I asked her to check on it. I asked the waitress a second time and she said she'll check on it. She comes back with the right entree but the wrong sides. I ate it anyway because I was starving at that point. She apologized and said the order got mixed up, but waiting for 45mins when it wasn't busy anymore wasn't acceptable. Plus, the order wasn't mixed up, she forgot to place it. To make matters worse, the food wasn't even good. I never finish my food, but I ate all the food here and could still eat more. So disappointing. There's plenty of other pubs to eat at. I stopped in here for lunch one fine afternoon. Definitely worth the visit. I had read that their fish and chips were excellent, and they certainly didn't disappoint! Washed it down with a Guiness and bazinga! The Ladyfriend loved it as well, definitely a true English style pub in my book. Prices were fair. The staff were really cool as were the regulars. I honestly cant praise this place enough. Firstly the staff are honestly so lovely and genuinely friendly. When we visited there were a group of men celebrating a birthday - they were very loud but not doing anything wrong! Jessica was a champion on St. Patrick's day! The entire back section had ONE server and two runners for St. Patrick's Day. Jessica was able to keep everyone's order straight, even with people interrupting her and moving tables. She didn't get flustered ONCE, had patience and just kept up with all the orders. The people who work there are really nice. The food and drinks are good. I went once on a Sunday to watch football and had a great experience. But I went back on a Saturday evening and the experience was really bad. It was mainly the fault of some people behind me who rudely pushed me out of my spot, but the staff should have mitigated the situation. And they had a comedy night coming up, so the promoter turned the TV off during the post game interviews, like a minute after it was over. Rude. To call it a sports bar is a stretch. It's a bar that plays sports. There isn't enough of a priority for people who want to watch the games. Music is too loud, so you can't hear the play by play. That's important at a sports bar, especially for a playoff game. I wouldn't go back there to watch sports, but I would to have a drink. read more
