    Chicken Benedict

First time here. The coffee is amazing. Some of the best coffee I have ever had at any restaurant. I'm a coffee snob and this coffee is high quality! The wife said breakfast tacos were amazing. The chicken Benedict is delicious. The chicken by itself is so flavorful. Some of the best fried chicken I've ever had. It goes great as eggs Benedict. Definitely a great brunch spot. Sam was our server and did great job. Definitely will return here to try the menu again.

Came back for happy hour with my husband so we could catch a World Cup match. This time we ordered some items on the happy hour and regular menu. Everything was hot and fresh. Margaritas were excellent. And the service was very attentive and friendly. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Swang by to take up some free time. had a few drinks, dinner, and played a few games. We had the buffalo cauliflower wings which were perfectly breaded, sauce comes on the side keeping the perfect crisp on the cauliflower. The buffalo sauce was mild and ranch/buffalo both had a great flavor. the herbavore pizza could have used more pesto but otherwise it was good, I like the thin crust and added a side of ranch for dipping. the margarita with champagne was okay, wouldn't order it again - maybe it was just the tequila that was used but this wasn't a great margarita in my opinion. My espresso martini was good however last time I had one here, it was more flavorful and a bit more creamy! glad to see items on the menu have changed since first opening and i'll definitely stop back by to try more of the menu.

My friends and I came here for dinner and really enjoyed the food. We walked in with no reservation which was nice. Our waiter was nice and the inside atmosphere was inviting. I loved the goat portrait inside. We got the burger, a wrap, a salad and a side of Mac and cheese. The burger was Amazing!!!!! The Mac and cheese was hot and had a lil spice to it. We really enjoyed our time except for the smashing that was going on upstairs. We were told there was an arcade upstairs but turned out to be a bowling alley. We mentioned it to our server and apparently they are getting rid of it, yay. Overall we had a great experience here!

With college vibes and the biggest goat mural I have ever seen, come here if you are young and want food both creative and delicious! The banana foster French toast blew me away with the cinnamon cream cheese and caramelized banana sauce. The farmhouse tots were made in-house and had this dish down to a science. The December cocktail cookies & cream was delicious for creamy alcohol lovers. I gave it 4 stars because the biscuit boards biscuits was a bit dense and dry but their spice cheese dip was fantastic. I would get all of these again! Shout-out to Morgan for helping us.

My Fiance and I went to the Goat for the 2nd time a few Fridays ago for happy hour. They had specials on mules and margaritas so we tried a few different flavors of mules and they were all good. The highlight of the trip was the hot chicken dip. So much flavor with nice spice and it was so good, we wondered what all was in it. We sat at the bar and got good service. Overall a nice experience.

Being in this area all the time and never heard of this place! Tried for the first time with my kids and definitely will be back! Clean, fancy and pleasant inside. Staff is friendly and nice. Food is tasty and coffee is great! Exceptional service. We did mot get to play on the second floor, now next time. Our waitress was Tara and she was super professional and prompt. One note to the management: you may adjust prices, menu was saying extra $2 for pepperoni to add to the pizza, but it rang up as $3. Just a suggestion. Granola bowl was gone quickly, no photo, but it was not too sweet and my toddler loved it. I will go back, and would recommend too! My son is already planning next visit. And lastly, biscuit board was a bomb!

I have been here a couple of times and every single time has been a great experience which is confusing to see the bad reviews. Anyhow great place with great lighting, and friendly staff. Today in particular they were busy for their brunch menu and they were very accommodating to us, because first we opted to sit outside then changed our mind since it was too chilly. They even offered to turn on the heat lamps. All the meals I've had here so far have been delicious from burgers to the chicken and waffles. We still haven't checked out their amenities, but it's a nice touch. I don't think any other restaurants offer something like this in the Pflugerville area. Must try their biscuits!

TVs, large bar counter, clean space. Warehouse style so guessing it gets loud when busy (it's early am in foto.)

Service was welcoming and friendly. Breakfast sandwich with and without cheese very good. Biscuits are great, if a little sweet. Cinnamon roll is gigantic and diabetes inducing, but tasty! The coffee, sadly, was not for us. Still, it's worth a stop.

The Goat is a multipurpose space, a restaurant, a bar, a game room, coffee bar, a pool and two volleyball courts. Upstairs, you'll find the game room, photo booth, a bar with several craft beers on tap and even a karaoke room. Downstairs is the bar and restaurant which can get quite noisy due to the acoustics. However, the thing that had us walking out instead of dining in was their limited menu, and the fact that there is nobody to greet you at the door, seat you or explain anything. It was like arriving at a private club and we stood out as non-members. I give them a lot of credit for all the amenities they offer here, but there's nothing here that would have me coming back unless I had kids. Plenty of photos and videos for more insight.

Loved my time at the Goat. The restaurant is spacious and has 2 levels. The Devil on Goat Back Pizza was unbelievable! Tons of arcade games that you can play as well. Also, has an outdoor patio and a pool that you can pay for a day pass. Well worth checking out!

From the moment we walked in, we had great service. From seating to table to food recommendations, we were set. We showed up during happy hour and it was no mystery, our waiter made sure we were aware. $5 house margs and house mules, both Kentucky and Moscow. $2 off App's and Burgers $1 off Beer and Local Cans We started with the app trio...a decision nightmare of pic 3 when you want to try it all... Pickle Chips, Pizza Rolls and Buffalo Cauliflower made the cut. Great portions, great flavor. Colin told us the cauliflower was originally only a Super Bowl special, but on the menu based off all the feedback and requests. You ever get a pizza delivered and it took a little too long, and it's not fresh hot? Well the pizza rolls' dough was amazing, so crispy. The cheese was still stringy...but it was barely warm enough. Like a frozen hot pocket a little more that 3/4 ready to eat. The cauliflower was lightly breaded and so good dipped into their buffalo sauce. Fried pickles also lightly breaded...all good but not winning any awards. Our table was situated near the bar area...the bartenders were rocking it! From drink order to drink to bar patrons and all with a smile... no stress found here... there vibe matched the ambiance We honored the happy hour special with the NashVegas Burger. Consisting of pimento cheese, bacon, onion straws, whiskey sauce, on a brioche bun. We also had the Burger of the Month, Hawaiian burger. We savored the Tropical flavors of bacon and pineapple, with baby spinach. The patties were well seasoned BUT.....when you ask for pink in the middle and get grey... and it's not overcooked.... Hmmmm... ***I'm not hyper sensitive but I've grilled enough to recognize the flavor....when I've let hamburger meat turn from pink to grey and grilled it anyway... the burger patties had that not so fresh taste.*** the consistency said loose and pink in the middle but the visual was gray with the taste to match. **** I feel like the vision of this place doesn't make it to the plate. GREAT ambiance, but the food was 2.5 at best. Keep the food hot, get it to the table hot and don't serve old meat. Great ambiance, I'd come again for the drink specials... I have faith that it'll come together in the future.

What's not to love about The Goat?! Everything was excellent. The food was fantastic. The service was good. We say outside and it was a perfect night. Also, they have a game room!

Ask the Community - The Goat Pflugerville

    Is it kid friendly?

Yes. It's a typical sports bar, but there were a lot of families.

    Is there a dress code?

No, there is NO dress code

Are dogs allowed on patio / outside?

I wouldn't think so. I did not see any thing that resemble dogs were allowed. Also, you have to go through the restaurant to get to the patio.

Chicken quesadilla was great. Seasoned waffle fries with gringo dip was also very good. Not so good: Management. I ordered a double Jack and Coke in a short glass. I deliberately mentioned the short glass to the waitress, in spite of the fact that a typical double whiskey and Coke drink comes in a short glass. Unfortunately she didn't catch the ask for short glass (she said she'd never had someone yet ask for that order, but I think she meant at this restaurant). Someone delivered a tall glass instead. I asked our waitress to give me a short glass and she tried to do so. When she came back she said the manager wouldn't let her, which was weird, so I asked to see the manager. Josh. Josh did not handle the interaction well in my opinion. In his opinion it was the same alcohol in a short or tall, so he thought I should just drink the tall. That's obviously not a great experience. Ultimately after a (too) long discussion he didn't charge for the drink. But the experience was ruined for us and since this was our first visit to this location it was simply a bummer and we likely won't be back.

Whiskey Cake has been on my list of places to try…read more I was in Round Rock today, so today was the day! I entered in, and just to the left, a host greeted me in. I said this was my first time here, and that I was excited to try them. She was super polite, very friendly. She sat me at a booth. She walked away for a quick minute and came back with a water glass and a small pitcher of ice cold water. My server came around. And gave me my menu and said you gotta try the whiskey Cake. Cake? Did someone say cake? Yes please. With cake on my mind. I thought I better balance this out. So I played it safe and got the grilled chicken salad. Also she said everything is house made from scratch, such as the cocktails, juice, salad dressing and so on. I did order a juice from the bar. It was the Jessica Wabbit with mint, carrot, lime, ginger, and some other flavors. The drink was handed to me first. Lovely flavors, could taste the fresh mint, fresh ginger. A little sweetness with the pineapple. Brilliant mix of flavors. The salad was very large. Dressing was fresh, rich with basil and garlic. Chunks of bacon and wedges of hard boiled eggs, avocado chunks, blue cheese scattered around, and the grilled chicken, warm juicy and beautifully chard. Love that charred flavor. The salad dressing was really delectable. Wonderful salad. Next came the whiskey cake. This cake should be its own food group. The cake itself has a beautiful flavor, it's a little dense, in a good way. The sauce is outstanding, it's toffee and sweet. Heavenly really. Pecans on top are spiced. I could only eat half of the cake. I'll snack on that later tonight. The food was outstanding. I would love to come back and try other food items. Service was perfection. I had so many wonderful conversations with everyone I came in contact with. I was wished well by everyone I passed by. Even in the bathroom, the host was coming out and she asked how my visit was. I mean, just the most genuine southern hospitality. Top notch service! Parking lot was packed. And they do have a pretty large lot all around the building. The whiskey cake is probably this restaurant's saving grace as the cake is decadent moist, and the combination of the pecans with the caramel and the whipped cream all just make it so delicious. It was definitely worth the wait to have it at the end and in retrospect, it probably would have done well to have first since the food that we ordered was a little more on the lackluster side. I found it hard to be impressed by the prime rib and Gouda stack as they were no defining flavors for this rather expensive sandwich and the mac and cheese was also not very memorable. When it comes to the service provided at the restaurant, there were many times where it felt as though our table had been forgotten to be waited upon, despite there not being many other people at the restaurant. Overall, I think my experience at Whiskey Cake was OK and while I may not return for the food necessarily, I would for the cake.

When I first visited Hutto before moving I looked for places to try, and the abundant and sheer quantity of reviews for Texan Cafe made it clear that I had to try it. That was just over a year ago, and I still remember parking my car in the lot across the street and walking into the cozy diner with wood chairs and booths, red tablecloths, and so much decor on the walls it might be a museum, and I felt right about moving to Hutto. I was seated immediately and almost instantly ordered the Chicken Fried Steak smothered with white gravy, of course, with sides of Fried Okra and Mashed Potatoes. It was not long before the beautiful plate hit my table, and I destroyed everything on that plate. When I thought it was over, I was handed the dessert menu that was two full rows worth of pie and other options. I was mesmerized by the length of it and was overwhelmed by the options. I texted my parents to tell them and suddenly I was going back to San Antonio with slices on slices worth of pie for them to have. When my parents came up to help move me in, they wanted to go to the Texan. They were impressed with how great the meal was alongside the pies. Pies that they bought extra of to take back with them to San Antonio. When I started my job, the first meal they took us new hires to was the Texan. I tried their Blue Plate Special and found out that Chicken Fried Pork Chops exist and fell in love with that. When my brother came and visited meeting my parents and me in Hutto, we went to the Texan. We enjoyed their appetizers and everyone had to have a slice of pie. Options for everyone. When a friend came and visited, she took a solo trip to the Texan while I was at work then told me she took the best nap of her life after. My buddy and I decided to go randomly one day after work to try their Hot Pie with Brandy Sauce. That thing is a tank and is worth a visit to try alone. What a sweet creation. When my girlfriend visited me in Hutto, I took her to the Texan and she will randomly text me about how much she misses the pie. I try to get her a slice every time she comes and visits. It is her favorite thing. It is clear to see why it is a favorite to so many because everyone I have taken to the Texan has left a fan wanting to come back. I brought my grandparents home a full Blueberry pie from the Texan Cafe which my grandma told me "was the best I have even since I was a little girl. Not too sweet with a great crust. Just right. A blueberry pie is my favorite." I know this review is less of a review and more of a collection of vignettes of many stories built inside the walls of the Texan Cafe, but that is what is so beautiful about southern hospitality and southern diners. That is why there is so much decor about the extensive history of Texan Cafe and the culture of Hutto on the walls. I went back this afternoon for the first time in a short while, but I find myself continuously impressed by the quality of the food, the efficiency as a whole, and just how welcoming everyone is inside. Their pies are just truly next level. Today, I went for the Chicken Fried Pork Chop Blue Plate Special which is truly heaven sent, potato salad, fried okra, and a slice of their cherry pie. It is a meal you feel blessed to eat and a restaurant you love supporting because of it. Every pie I have had at the Texan is better than any other pie I have eaten. They could be a full time bakery and still be the monument of Hutto. It just happens they have food that warms your heart too. RIYL: Grandma's cooking if it was not dry
