    Berried and Almond Organic Cake
    Michelle G.

What a great vegan spot in Long Beach! Adequate seating inside with a couple of tables outside. Great variety of menu options. I had the wet chicken burrito with side of chips , rice and beans. It was spectacular-clean and very filling . For dessert, the berry almond cake and très Leche cake-both amazing but preference was for berry or sure. Friendly and helpful staff. Definitely recommend. Need o come back for taco Tuesday three dollar tacos!

So happy to have found this 100% vegan organic restaurant! The service was prompt and friendly, very knowledgeable staff. The food was excellent. I had the sautéed kale with tempeh. The flavors were excellent and the tempeh was tender but not mushy, and had no bitterness at all. It was very well seasoned. My husband had the huevos rancheros and it was really good too!! Their hot sauce is so good that I bought some for home. Ambiance is casual and comfortable. Will definitely return next time we're in LB.

Really nice wet burrito! The quesabirria was not my favorite but it was still good. Service was attentive and nice and the outdoor seating was nice and relaxing on a summer day. Definitely looking forward to coming back! We thought the food was artfully presented as well!

Super Roll, not good at all

So... I decided to try this spot due to some food restrictions I've been cursed upon. I mostly can't have dairy or highly acidic foods or spicy stuff. I went in, nice environment. Lots of seating available and only one server but he was quick and kind. I ordered one Super Roll and a Coco Paradise Smoothie. The smoothie was pretty good, it tasted mostly of banana and I kinda liked the pieces of coconut flakes within each sip. So I was pleased by that. However, the roll genuinely disappointed me. It was basically just unseasoned veggies wrapped in seaweed. I also wasn't fond of the sauce, it tasted a bit like watered down mustard. I'm aware there's other menu options that might meet my needs. So I'm willing to give it a second chance with a different menu item. Hopefully it'll be much better. But for now, I give it a big no on the veggie sushi. I quite love sushi so much and this was one of the most disappointed I've been.

I won't lie like I lied to my ex wife . Portions are great the rice for sure had great flavors and to tofu chicken I wanted more. But the mole burrito itself wasn't my cup of tea but it was sweet or maybe I'm not a mole person like my ungrateful ex wife but overall I would definitely go back if I'm Cali again .

A very cute little plant based restaurant with a big menu. Always love supporting vegan local businesses! At first it seems like a Mexican spot based on the decor but the menu has a bit of everything. Loved how breakfast is available all day. I ended up getting the grilled veggie wrap and was surprised when I bit into it that it was an Asian wrap. There is no mention of that on the menu description, in fact it says "pesto." Not that that's bad it's just not what I was expecting or craving so it made the whole meal a little off. My bf got the wrap as well and only took a few bites. My aunt & sister got Mexican dishes and got some shakes and everything looked really good! Service was great! Indoor (minimal) and outdoor seating available. Parking is street parking - but was easy to find.

I'm sad to say that I've lived in the neighborhood for 6 years and only visited this place for the first time yesterday. They have one of the best veggie burgers I've ever had. It was fresh, flavorful, and healthy. The roasted side potatoes were delicious as well. The restaurant also has great ambiance and kind staff. Thank you, I will be back!

I always love an experience at one of The Grain Cafe locations, but this was my first time at the location in Long Beach. The unique thing about this location is they have an added Oaxacan menu full of even more delicious options that do not disappoint! The service was super friendly and our waitress gave great recommendations, the ambiance is very casual and chill, but it can get a little stuffy inside when it's hot. Here are some of the highlights: 4/5 - Dargon Roll: "Tuna", cucumber, carrots, avocado, and a side of soy sauce. A great light and delicious appetizer. Pro tip: the "Tuna" like paste is a little salty, so don't overdo the soy sauce to avoid that extra salty flavor. 5/5 - Chilaqulies Verde: corn tortilla chips, onions, mushroom, zucchini and tofu egg, sautéed in a salsa verde, topped with homemade sour cream, cheese, and avocado. Very delicious, had a nice little kick of spice, but not too overpowering, I would highly recommend this dish! 5/5 - Coconut Blackberry Cake: a delicious blend of fresh coconut and blackberries, without too much of either flavor, perfectly balanced. 4.5/5 - Strawberry Almond Cake: very good, almost as good as the coconut blackberry cake, but a little dryer in taste. However, with the heavier frosting parts, just as delicious with the same texture! Food: 4.5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 3/5 Value: 4.5/5 Overall: 4.33/5

Treated myself the other morning to one of my favorite gluten free meals. Really good attentive service, and it was the perfect quiet atmosphere to enjoy my meal and book at the same time. I don't eat out at restaurants much lately but I really enjoyed my experience!

The food here was really delicious. It honestly felt like the kind of breakfast you'd get on a Sunday morning at your abuela's house. The huevos con chorizo were so good, and their hot sauce was it went perfectly with it. The person working there was also really nice, and the whole place had a calm, relaxed vibe. Definitely a spot I'd come back to if I'm in Long Beach again

Quite cute, rusty place. Stopped by for a cup of mocha and a cake. Parking can be tough since it's street parking only. Service is nice and friendly. The cake was great and tasty and moist and coffee is good. The decor, for me, dark and rustic feeling and they have a waterfall wall so it's relaxing. The place is right on the corner of 4th Street & Ximeno Ave so you got the corner view of both streets. They do have indoor and outdoor seating for all seasons. They do have other plain base foods but we're here in the morning so couldn't able to try the foods yet but my friends said that it was great with reasonable price too. Will definitely come back and try them out.

My career is a mobile phlebotomist and I'm always on the go. I found this spot very interesting. I read that we're having a smoothies and juices and my curiosity just took me in there and I got to try one of the most popular smoothies that girl tell me the berry berry what's one of the customers favorite. I was looking for something green honestly, but since I hear that I was like OK, let's give it a shot. My concern was a little bit about the sweetness. But then when they give it to me, I tried out and it was delicious. It hit the spot that really worked out or replacing me a meal for another hour. This was looking pretty busy. They were at least six tables busy so that means the food is good. I can't wait to come back to try their food and the pastries the cakes oh my gosh, they were looking delicious and some people were eating out as well. I was in a rush, so maybe next time with the more time I can check more of the menu out.. for right now now I have another spot to order my smoothie. I can't wait to try more of the menu. For parking situation of the parking, my goodness is a little hard, but not impossible. You must have to park a little far away, but you can find parking around. Good luck if you were trying to see like a breakfast lunch a spot definitely give this one a chance to impress you like it did to me.

    Asada Taco

Tried their tacos for the first time today and.... OMG they are SO good! The flavor of asada was perfectly delicious along the fresh tortilla and green salsa! Honestly one of the best vegan tacos I have ever tried. They even give you a grilled onion, red salsa, & jalapeno for extra flavor

I ordered the potato taco which had a fabulous crunch and a perfectly delicious chipotle ( ? ) dipping sauce on the side. The taco itself wasn't very flavorful but I think it's perfectly fine because the sauce carries more than enough. I also ordered the vegan fried chicken and I was so intrigued by the flavor. They had a notable buttery taste to them which was rich and pleasant. I believe they were coated with a cornflake cereal which gave them a proper crunch. The hibiscus drink was a tad thicker than I expected and wished it had a more balanced flavor ( sweetness : tartness ), but it wasn't a bad drink by any means. Definitely one to drink cold. I let mine sit for a bit and I think that affected the tasting experience. & Service is genuinely chill which I respect and prefer. No need to perform. The other odd thing was that place opens at 1pm (who opens at 1? most people are done with lunch by then and its too early for dinner). Anyways we got there right at open so we were the first ones in an empty restaurant. It still took an HOUR to get our food. One hour for the first and only order in the building. A few others came in a couple minutes behind us and they were still sitting there past the hour and half mark. There's slow and then there's this where slow loses its definition. Food was good but when you've been starving for a long time anything would taste good so take that for what its worth. Prices aren't cheap either, 14-16$ a dish, which is proper sit down restaurant money not a person running the truck type business place. I don't really blame the guy. He's the cook and the server and the cleanup all at once and you can tell he's putting effort into the food. But one person can't run a restaurant on his own and I'm not going back to wait another time to prove it.

If you're looking for a quieter meal, this may not be the best night to visit. The food itself was good, but the wait was much longer than expected. We waited almost 40 minutes for our order. Unfortunately, my burger was also made incorrectly. I ordered the Bacon Bleu Burger but was served a different burger instead. Not quite sure what it was, but it had mushrooms and American cheese. By all means not here to sh*t on the business because we still want to come here to support them. However, last Saturday I believe was the 5/23/26, they had an event and an artist guest came and performed for the guests. It was nice, but it was also very packed in there with people out the door. We snuck through the back just to get in, people standing and blocking traffic because there was no room and space. We had to wait in a small crammed isle area towards the bathroom. It took awhile for our simple togo order to get done--which was also mistakenly given to someone else. They couldn't figure out simple logistics. There were also others who got wrong orders while we stood there waiting. They had to re-make people's pizzas while the pizza had to be given away for free because it had already been touched. My gripe is that in the future, if you're having an event, (maybe they do this here all the time), please have a floor manager to alleviate the crowd and simple operations and logistics to handle the lines, the crowd control, and providing fast and accurate service. Not just making the food right, but with time, and a comfortable environment. They could have made it more. It was so busy, that they either looked to be short-staffed or got confused on a lot of their orders. In short, in the future their manager should do better in operations and executing the the transactions to flow more smoothly. If you're having a guest performer, find a way to also make that work better. Maybe make people not block the pathways, more chairs or seating outside, have a bigger venue or open some areas to fit better..maybe they like this intimate atmosphere but it did not work for half of the guests there just trying to get in and out. This review is not to burn the spot but to encourage them do better in the future.
