We live between the English Muffin and Harriets, and those places are just fine, but this morning we were ready for a change of scenery and The Griddle did not disappoint. Every item we ordered was wonderful. Homemade hash, waffle with fresh strawberries, bacon, sausage, good coffee and good home fries! When we arrived it was starting to get busy, and we were still greeted right away. staff members were friendly and quick, the interior is beautifully renovated and decorated, with a large TV at the counter. I went here with a friend because our original breakfast place was closed. I'm so glad we chose here! The inside is so clean, which I very much appreciate in a restaurant. We ordered hot chocolate with whipped cream...naturally. It was very affordable and oh so delicious and warm on this cold day. I got the eggs with meat while my friend got the hash and eggs. Both meals came with toast and home fries. I didn't care much for the eggs because they were a little runny. The home fries on the other hand are a game changer!! This was my fist visit. Next time I will go back and bring my family. I had a ice blueberry coffee, French toast, and a side of corned beef hash. The French toast was soft with a nice crunch outside, topped with fresh strawberries. My corned beef hash was homemade and the best I have ever had. It was seasoned well, great balance of potato to corned beef. And my ice coffee was refreshing and what I needed to start my day. Was not a fan. The service was terrible , we waited 40 mins for food, the couple that sat down after us got there food first I'm not sure how that works. The waitress didn't even bother checking in on us after bringing us our drinks even to say hey sorry that the breakfast is taking a while it will be right up, I had to get her attention and ask her hey where is the breakfast it's been 30 mins. Then it came 10 mins after. With So long of a wait I was hoping that the breakfast would be incredible but unfortunately it was very mediocre, even the coffee tasted like shit And I had a spiked latte which was pretty trash as well, The only thing that was pretty good was the corn beef hash hence the one extra star for them and the place was cute and clean but other than that I will not return. read more

The interior has a lovely black, white, and grey theme that is both clean and charming. The coffee is great -- and bottomless for only $2! I ordered the breakfast skillet with a side of Italian toast and both were great! I recommend this place over others in the area for its more "hip" menu including twists on typical breakfast options, and reasonable pricing. read more

After seeing signs for this new opening on Plainfield Pike, my husband and I got to try it on their opening day! The space is surprisingly large, and has a clean modern vibe with a touch of hipster cool =) Menu is standard breakfast/lunch options with some items with a bit more flair. Prices are in line with others in the area as well. They also have nitro cold brew, beer & wine! We had their harvest french toast, which was a VERY hearty portion and it was delicious. Great flavor, and didn't need the side of butter and syrup it came with! Also had a standard eggs/bacon/home fries plate. Their toast is also hearty, bacon crisp, and home fries flavorful! Will definitely return! The service was friendly and prompt as well, and the wait for food wasnt long at all. Only one remark of constructive criticism would be to have music of some sort playing? That is probably just a personal preference on my end, but I always notice restaurant that DON'T play music. read more

I've been eyeing this place down for the last couple months when I noticed a new breakfast place on the pike was open. I got two eggs scrambled, home-fries (over seasoned) and Italian toast (of course all of this comes with a coffee, 2 cream/2 sugar). The eggs were alright, home-fries very over seasoned and the toast was decent. Maybe it's a preference but why do most places use store bought Italian bread when theres the Italian bakery down the road. The only place that uses freshly baked Italian toast is Athena's, Cranston, RI. Overall the food was ok 3.5/5 at best, the place was very clean and nice, quiet not too loud. Its a pretty nice spot if you wanna grab some quick breakfast (and maybe hit a bar). The food was decent but the building was nice and the ambience was on point for a breakfast place, service was good too. If you look at it from a perspective of ambience, service and food it's a 4 star breakfast place for sure. Maybe I caught the Chef hungover that morning. read more

I find the food really good if you're in the mood for some good quality diner food. No complaints about the food, just the staff. Ordering over the phone is HORRENDOUS. The staff gives attitude like crazy. It would be nice to at least get a smile upon entering. Instead it feels unwelcoming. I've waitressed for years, and can vouch for the fact that throwing a smile on your face and being pleasant gets you A LONG way. Its your job. We all have jobs, do it. read more

Our party wasn't even acknowledged when we walked inside. They sat another party and got them coffee before someone finally told us they would clean a table for us. That same waitress then proceeded to cash out another table before cleaning the table for us. The whole time we were just standing in front of the doorway. We stopped by on a Sunday which is a sillier busy breakfast day but we weren't greeted with smiles or welcomes by any of the staff. We sat at the bar and were told to move over instead of a friendly hello. We waited about 15 min for service when finally the only server who showed us any kindness, Tanya, came over and took our order. The coffee was Amazing and the food was good but amusing was watching Tanya run circles around the other servers who all seems to be upset over something. Not a very friendly environment but we were very grateful for Tanya and doubt we would've stayed if she hadn't waited on us. All in all we would go back :) read more

This is a great place! It's a new restaurant that will improve with experience. I read a lot of reviews complaining about the service. The few times I went, weren't on weekends but when I went I sat at the bar both times and received excellent service. The food is amazing especially the home fries I highly recommend them. They have a great selection of food and everything I have tried is delicious. Plenty of parking available and the place is spotless. I agree with a few comments that the coffee wasn't great, it wasn't. With that said, if that's the only negative I can deal with it. Keep up the great work! read more

I've gone to many breakfast places throughout Rhode Island and The Griddle by far is amongst the best I've tried. I highly recommend giving them a try!! Their food does not disappoint and neither did their sangria. The prices are fair as well. As far as service goes, it was average, nothing to complain about. read more
