I have never been a big fan, but I know people who just love The Griddle. IMHO, it is way overpriced and overrated. Their fresh squeezed orange juice is outstanding, but they are proud of it. I came here with high expectations after seeing suggestions and reviews. I was a little disappointed though. I got the MO's potatoes or something like that. I will say it was tasty, but for $14 I think I expected a better portion and was thinking I'd walk out with some for later. It came with a single slice of toast that odd toasted on only one side? And no butter? I don't eat eggs and asked if I could sub something. I was told they won't sub eggs, and didn't discount. It was a super bummer. Service was ok. I had an empty coffee cup. Oh yes- it was good- really good! Their coffee is excellent, service was pretty good even though it was a busy morning, and the food did not disappoint! I got the gravy train potatoes which were hashbrowns with cheese, sausage, bacon and gravy. I subbed the toast for a pancake and it came with 2 eggs- perfect cooked over medium. I asked for their scratch made jelly with the pancake and YES it was delicious. My breakfast buddy got the country Benedict with gravy, sausage and egg served on a biscuit. I heard no complaints. Been to this place many times, and it's still one of my favorite local breakfast joints. That being said, they can be inconsistent when service gets slammed and the kitchen seems to get in the weeds. In general, the food does not disappoint, and the quality is very good. Have the french toast or pancakes here and you'll never go back to IHOP again. However, it seems lately when they get busy that food preparation, properly seasoned and cooked food, can suffer. I would not usually hesitate to recommend this place, but I'd say stay away from it during the weekend brunch hours. Just as a point of information, since we are in the waning days of COVID, the place maybe should evaluate their HVAC a little, because when the restaurant is full the air quality is not good. We came here under false advertising. The Yelp listing says they have "Fish and Chips." That is simply not the case. However, they do have one fish dish, Crab Cake Benedict, which isn't going to do it. So we settled for French Dip plate and their Taco plate. The service was excellent even though the place was completely full. Friendly faces are always welcome. The food was prepared quickly and served hot. We enjoyed everything and will add this to our list of good places to eat, but not when we want Fish & Chips. read more

I have worked in food distribution and have sold food to prisons, the quality of food I received was worse. This is by far the worst breakfast of my life, the cook they have in early mornings on weekends needs to be removed as he clearly is incompetent or does not care. Our orange juice was pressed clearly from looking in the back at their juice machine from severely underripe, visibly green oranges in the back. They clearly should not have been accepted from the distributor, nor should we have been charged 4.25 for a small glass of it. My potatoes were raw, eggs were over-cooked cooked. My huevos rancheros had bean juice, no actual beans but just the gravy of juice mixed with a purée of salsa that looked filled with clippings from various discarded cuts from the kitchen. Served with a single untoasted oversized burrito tortilla. It looked like a kids TV dinner from the 90s and tasted worse. My fiancé received a Benedict that was better but had under cooked eggs and a presentation slopped on so badly it looked like a soupy mess with very little semblance of a Benedict, she didn't say much but ate about a 1/3 her plate before calling it quits and later told me she only ate as much to not make me feel bad, while I didn't return the food and walk out to not embarrass her. A dining experience shouldn't be suffering for each other. We were one of only two table sat in the entire restaurant and the cook spent about 5 minutes preparing our food looking rushed to get back to talking to coworkers. As a former line chef and expediter that is inexcusable especially for the grotesque cost of the meal given the quality. This used to be a nice place, I'm now going to be warning my friends and family away as in the last few months this place has gone not down hill, but full on jumped off a cliff. read more

We were driving from Colorado to Oregon and decided to get some pancakes and bacon to go. The most delicious and fluffy pancakes I have ever had at a restaurant. The bacon was cooked perfectly, we ate everything quickly and I forgot to take photos. We will definitely eat at The Griddle next time we are going through Nampa again. read more

I don't like that you can't get the lunch menu all day, not everyone has a normal sleep schedule.. It's not that their food is bad it just isn't for me and I normally do like breakfast food. That's why I want to try the rest of the menu but we only ever go in the morning after work so I'm stuck with breakfast. My girl loves the chilaquiles though. read more

This place started good I used to like it alot. The quality has gone down hill quite a bit. This morning I got an all meat omlette which was scrambled eggs in the shape of a half circle overcooked. The Hasbrowns were undercooked and luke warm and the toast was a bit to charred. On top of it my plate felt a little greasy and not quite cleaned right. For a $20 breakfast I expect something of higher quality, there are better breakfast spots in the area for much less. My husband and I stopped here for breakfast while getting new tires put on my vehicle. It's a cute little spot that was very busy. We didn't have to wait too long. The service was great but the food left a little to be desired. I ordered the eggs Benedict and my husband got biscuits and gravy. The hollandaise sauce on the eggs Benedict had very little flavor, the biscuits were dry, and the gravy had very little flavor as well. I think they were short handed, waitress seemed over-worked. We got coffee refills twice without asking and someone stopped by to make sure we were good. First time in Idaho and was looking for a good brunch spot and I ended up here! I AM NOT DISAPPOINTED. Let me tell you, once you walk in you're greeted by everyone. All the staff has a bright smile on their faces and you're offered drinks and given menus right as you've sat down. Our server was very fast and super understanding with my order (I can be picky sometimes) she didn't hesitate nor make any exceptions towards it. Nothing exceptional as far as breakfast goes, but there aren't many breakfast options in Nampa, so I'd take it. A classic look, meshed with a rustic look. Sort of giving off 50's vibes. Food comes in a wide varieties, but be warned-they are only open until 2:00 PM and only serve breakfast and lunch. I would recommend their Scrambled Eggs, and their Hot Cakes. Simple, yes, but this may be the best items on their menu. However, I am concerned with the COVID protocols at this place. They cram people into small booths and seat people close together. Also, the servers don't wear masks, and I would say this place is acting like COVID doesn't exist, which, as cases rise along with the delta variant, I honestly think this place needs to reconsider their safety standards. read more

Phenomenal restaurant in Nampa and perhaps the best breakfast option in town. Highly recommend you sit at the counter/bar area! This was not my first experience with The Griddle. I have visited their Meridian location many times before but this was my first experience at their Nampa location. Definitely was not disappointed with my experience. Visited on a Sunday around lunch time with a wait time of 15 minutes. However, we saw two spots open at the counter/bar area and took advantage of that opportunity. It was quite obvious that this location was new since there was a lot of scrambling but the service staff seemed like they were in control. Since we sat at the counter/bar, we had our own waitress help us out, take our orders, and immediately deliver our food all in a matter of a couple of minutes. My coffee cup was never empty which I really appreciated. Highly recommend the Breakfast Burrito and the Peach Crepes. Serving size of the Breakfast Burrito is just perfect and the hash browns served with the meal are enough to fill you up. If you're still not full, go for the Peach Crepes which for me personally is the best dessert breakfast option on the menu. Left feeling extremely content and satisfied with my meal decision. I would like to caution that this place is still pretty new. This simply means that there are a lot of folks coming in to check this new spot out for the first time which can make for a long wait. My advice is to try to come a little before or after typical meal hours in order to avoid the huge rush and long waiting lines. A pleasant surprise! My wife, being a chef, had heard a lot of great things about this place from some of her co-workers. When we walked in, we saw a sign reading seat yourself, which can be bad if they aren't paying attention, but Bailey took less than a minute to greet us. She was great at taking care of us. She was attentive. but not overly it was a great balance. My coffee was never empty. I ordered the Golden Gate sandwich, and my wife ordered the crab cake Benedict. My sandwich was perfect if not a bit too spicy for me. But you could taste the pepper jack was of good quality. I was amazed by the parmesan crusted bread on the sandwich. I didn't try any of my wife's crab benedict, but she said it was really, really good, and the yoke was actually flowing like it should. Good not Great. You can't put a price on friendly, great service. They've got that, in spades. We went in on Memorial Day, 2023. My one nephew was overjoyed with the pecan french toast, the other was happy with the quinoa something or other( that he didn't know he ordered) and my wife was happy with her custom omelet, but frankly my Eggs Benedict was a let down. Try something else. The eggs were overcooked. The hollandaise was obviously from a mix. It had an unnatural glow in color and far too sweet and tart to be made by a human being. They bragged about the Canadian bacon they use, but I had to spit half of it into a napkin. The busboy got the muffins. Anyway...the service was great.
