We came here for a lunch date and it was a mixed bag - the place was completely empty, except for us. Probably because we were the only people there, they gave us a little sampler appetizer before we actually ordered, which was really nice. Inside of the restaurant was pretty and the bathrooms were nice. We parked next-door at a pay to park spot that was pretty affordable. I think it was $3.50 for two hours of parking. Strangely, the service was slow even though we were the only people there. From beginning to end was an hour and 20 minutes. For food, we got the skirt steak with the shareable mac & cheese, a little side salad, a cup of clam chowder, the herb rolls, a deviled egg and a crabcake. For dessert, we got the flourless chocolate cake. I have to say all the food was very good. The skirt steak was pretty tender for the cut and I think a decent value, the clam chowder and mac & cheese was delicious as were the deviled egg and crabcake. The crabcake was mostly crab and had very little binder so it fell apart a little bit, but that's kind of what you want to maximize amount of crab you're getting. The rolls were a little bit unusual. They were sweet and salty on the outside with large flakes of salt, but on the inside, they were kind of savory because of the herbs, a little unusual but definitely enjoyable. The chocolate cake was very rich and dense and had some nice orange zest with it along with the ice cream on top. Overall, the food was really good, but the service was a little slow and it's a little bit of a pricier restaurant. As some other reviewers mentioned, there is a happy hour food and beverage menu that runs Monday through Friday as well.

The establishment is new, and aesthetically beautiful, located next to the Dome. Our server was attentive but getting our food took awhile. We ordered the mixed grill. The lamb was cold but the lobster roll was okay. The ribeye was tough and rubbery. The shrimp and macaroni were good. The crab cake lacked flavor. The prices are steep and the food was not worth the price.

Honestly, I am sickened by the amount of money we spent here last night. For the service and the amount of mistakes, it was just unacceptable. For the TL;DR version, we won't be back. Eater beware! Word to the wise, if you're really going to eat here, do yourself a favor and download the inKind app to get a $50 off $150 offer. You'll need it. We had a rezzie for 6pm because we had a show at the Dome at 8pm (we told our server this in a conversation when we sat down). We placed our cocktail drinks within 10 minutes of being seated and proceeded to wait 25 MINUTES for them to arrive to the table. Strike one. You need new bartenders. If you can't handle tables and a bar, you've got a long term problem. We ordered the calamari which was pretty good, but they put it on the table and we didn't even have silverware or plates yet. Oof. Strike two. The power went out for MAYBE 2 minutes and 30 seconds...maybe. Ok, whatever. Things happen. I ordered the skirt steak and fries which came out next to cold. My husband ordered a petit filet mignon with a baked potato and added the fancy stuff (the option for $19.50). Well, it came out without it. Our server kindly returned to the kitchen and said they would prepare it, but at this point it's close to the show, and we were going to have to box it anyway. Strike three. The service here aims to please, but misses the mark. While our waitress was sweet, she disappeared for long periods of time, didn't fill waters adequately (in a 2 hour visit) and didn't pay attention to the fact that we had a deadline. Just inexperienced. Overall employees just weren't smiling and didn't have good demeanor with guests. My cocktail was taken away with drink left it in. Sigh. Also, what is it with these bathrooms? This place is a sister restaurant to Mi Vida down the street and they are SO DARK. And only 2 of them? For the size of the place? Wow. The manager stopped by to ask how things were and I was honest. He seemed to think blaming everything on the power outage was acceptable. People, we are talking about a 2 minute outage. That doesn't put your bar and your kitchen behind by 30 minutes, or excuse mistakes. They did throw in a comp dessert, but I would have preferred they lessened the bill. I wish I would have listened to other reviews. The only redeeming thing of the evening was the Grill Punch, pictured here. Delicious. Otherwise, will never return.

I went to The Grill because I had an issue with a dish from a previous visit, and the manager was nice enough to assist me. She was very friendly, upbeat, and accommodating!! She even met me outside to bring me my food. Which was really nice!! The restaurant is very modern and sleek with a nice vibe!! I got the grilled branzino, fried lobster fritters, and mac n cheese, and a pineapple mocktail. The lobster fritters are definitely good, a must try for sure! The tartar sauce is delicious!! The mac n cheese was a decent portion and was good, but could have been more flavorful. The Branzino had a beautiful presentation and was a good size portion. The top was grilled well but the bottom of the fish appeared a little undercooked and slimy. It was appealing until I got to that part. There was also a lot of bones. The mocktail was ok, but it kinda fell flat for me. It tasted like it was missing something. I do like the food here but I expect a higher standard because the food is a bit pricey!! I'd still return to try other dishes. They have limited street parking but there is a parking lot across the street you can pay to park in, or there's a nearby garage also. The area it's in is really nice. Check them out!!

If I could describe this place in 3 words it would be Showed And Proved. Food Customer Service Ambience Had an exceptional experience at The Grill. My wife and I shared an anniversary there for an evening dinner. Made reservations on Open Table for 5pm on a Friday. It's right next to The Dome in Virginia Beach so it's fairly simple to find it you know where The Dome is. Arrived and was seated promptly. Let me start by saying... man, the customer service was 20/10. I felt like I had stock in the place. Every level of service was provided, our waiter explained the menu to us upon seating which i found to be very informative for the experience, it was like have a tour guide on a museum visit. Tables were set lovely, very clean establishment from the tables, bar, and bathrooms. Everything was tidy and sharp. Now for the food, a good word to describe it was poignant. We enjoyed everything we ordered besides only one thing. Drinks: We order the Rum Me Over and the Without The Punch for a palette cleanser. Both were really good drinks. Appetizers: Whatever you do, never leave this place without ordering the Honey Herb Rolls. I'll just leave you with that information. We also ordered the calamari which I wasn't a fan of at all. The batter they fried it in is tasty but the calamari to me just didn't have a good cook on it. On the rubbery chewy side. Entrees: I had the skirt steak which I think is a very slept on cut of steak. Ordered it Medium and it came with had a beautiful side of greens and I picked chimichurri as my sauce. Paired it with the Twice Baked Potato. Phenomenal. Wife ordered the Baked Chicken which was juicy and had a good flavorful but felt it needed a smig bit more, it came with a sauce so she did it with the Soy Ponzu and that really added the each flavor i felt it needed. That got paired it with the Spiced Creamed Spinach. Everything was to the point. My only take away is that for how spacious the place is the seating is rather tight but manageable. Certain areas kinda felt like I was seated with the people next to me. Overall, this place was a banger for date night. 4.2/5 stars. Would definitely spin the block.

Came here for Mother's Day dinner and was very pleased! The atmosphere is calming but energetic. I love it being right across from the surf park and right next to the Dome. We were able to be seated outside on the patio and even though the temperature dropped, the overhead heaters did a great job. The service was spectacular! Our waitress was very attentive and answered any and all questions we had. She made some great recommendations for dinner. The food was spectacular!! I had the 8 ounce skirt steak and my husband had the King Salmon. Everything was cooked to perfection. We will definitely be back!

Very average experience. Service was honestly on the slow side and the food were all extremely salty or overseasoned. The area and the restaurant is super pretty though!

Dinner at this spot is about to elevate your taste buds like never before. The Grill in Virginia Beach promises a feast with crispy calamari, marinated skirt steak, and more. Stay tuned as I rate each dish and share why this place stands out. I stopped by The Grill at the Oceanfront and didnt know what to expect. I was craving a good steak. I ordered the New York Strip, cooked medium-rare, I paired it with a crabcake and mushrooms & it came out perfect! The ambience was very aesthetically nice relaxed and upscale without it being too formal. The crowd was minimal, which made for a chill dining experience. Our server was very attentive and polite. The steak itself was good & im glad i paired it with a crabcake & Hollandaise sauce. The drinks at the bar were pumping one after another and yeah this seems like a great spot for drinks if youre looking for a place to unwind. Overall, I'd recommend this spot for cocktails and atmosphere andfood to enjoy! #foodie #foodreview #virginiabeach #badbunny #dinner

Meh. I was supposed to come here for Valentine's Day but I'm so glad I decided to experience it sooner, because I would have been disappointed. Honestly, everything could have been better for the price. If you want a better seasoned decently priced branzino that actually comes with sides you're better off going to Bonefish. While the crab fondue is highly recommended, it was nothing special. Just some gooey cheese with crab and no seasoning. If anything I would recommend the herb rolls and the Grill Punch...those were tasty but not enough for a trip back. If you want to check them out I'd probably say try them out during RW or a hh before you end up wasting your money. Service wise, no complaints.

Hubs and I found a small window of quiet time away from family on Christmas Day to have dinner here. I was so glad they were one of the few restaurants open on a holiday. The atmosphere is intimate and the staff complimented the vibe. FYI... the menu is a la carte, so this is what I had for dinner. Cajun branzino - I like that it's grilled and branzino is a beautiful fish. However, it was way too salty and couldn't finish it after 1 bite. Wedge Salad - I love a good wedge salad and when I see it on the menu, I have to get it! The marinated tomatoes/onions that tops this salad were yummy. But it's weird that they pull a full piece of pork belly, I had to cut it up in pieces and at one point I was just dipping it in the salad dressing and eating the pork belly that way! LOL! For dresser I had the Pavlova. I never had it, so I am unsure how it supposed to taste but it was good. It was tarty because of the sorbet and raspberries used, so if you like a tarty sweet dessert, I guess this is for you. The best thing I had was the cappuccino! It was nice and smooth. They made it decaf for me and the quality was not compromised at all. So overall, will I be back....no LOL!

We came to The Grill for the first time to celebrate a birthday, and overall it was a great experience. Our server, Alphonso, was friendly and had excellent recommendations that really helped guide our ordering. We started with the deviled eggs and the salted honey herb rolls. Both were solid, with the rolls being especially addictive. For my entrée, I had the pan-roasted salmon, which was well prepared and flavorful. A few things to note: entrées are definitely on the expensive side, and everything is served à la carte, so the bill adds up quickly. Cocktails were also pretty pricey- almost entrée-level. I decided to try the Grill Punch, which was enjoyable. That said, the birthday celebration ended on a high note with a thoughtful, sweet birthday treat for the celebrant, which was a really nice touch. Overall, The Grill feels best suited for special occasions rather than casual dining, but I'd absolutely come back for another celebration.

    Lobster Roll

We had the mussels and calamari for appetizers the mussels were so good a must try and the serving is huge, calamari was okay not so crispy. For my entree i had the lobster roll, it has a good amount of lobster but the bread is a lil disappointing it was not warm and the sides were hard not buttered well and for the price $37 for one it was not a good choice. The service was okay aside from the hair on the toasted bread she was good. The restaurant is cozy, the restroom however was so dark like dark, it was hard to see.

The vibes are electric! The staff is super kind and helpful! Donnie was a great server. She answered our questions and gave recommendations on the menu. The food and drinks are simply delicious!! And the presentation is everything! I started with a Cosmo-blanc, which is their spin on a cosmopolitan. It had cranberry foam...just excellent! We had the caramelized onion dip with chips...the dip was delish. They said it came with house chips, but they were actually regular potato chips. I think house chips would have been better as it would've held up better with the dip. We also had the crab deviled eggs. They were good, no wow factor like the rest of the meal. For my meal, I had the crab cake. It's rare I can get a crab cake that's gluten-free so I was excited. It did not disappoint!! It was light and full of lump crabmeat!! We shared the roasted cauliflower, twice baked potato, and grilled sweet potatoes. All of the side was excellent! FYI, they use nuts in most of the garnishes accompanying the sides so ask for it sans nuts if you have an allergy. For dessert l, had the trio of sorbets - lime, mango, and raspberry. I liked the mango and raspberry flavors the best. The pavlova was a great mix of Chantilly cream, meringue, and fruit. I already know I'm going back!! Check it out!

One piece of advice: arrive a little before Happy Hour begins at 3:00 p.m. If you wait until then, you'll likely find yourself several people deep in line. Don't let that discourage you. Embrace it, because once you're seated you'll quickly discover that the wait was well worth it. The food is delicious, the portions are generous, and the prices--especially during Happy Hour--are outstanding. The Atlantic specializes in oysters, and their Happy Hour runs daily from 3:00-6:00 p.m., including weekends. We began with a Chopped Caesar Salad ($9). Every ingredient was crisp, fresh, and flavorful--a simple dish executed exactly as it should be. Next came the oysters: a dozen Rockefeller and a dozen Pacific. The Rockefeller oysters were everything you would expect from this classic preparation--rich, savory, and baked beautifully. The Pacific oysters, however, completely stole the show. Each oyster was topped with a delicious combination of chorizo sausage, pepper jack cheese, and seasonings before being baked to perfection. They were bold, flavorful, and easily my favorite item of the afternoon. I also ordered the Double Stack Cheeseburger ($7), and what a terrific value. The burger arrived piping hot, loaded with melted cheese, and accompanied by a generous serving of crispy fries. It's hard to imagine finding a better burger at that price anywhere along the Oceanfront. My wife ordered the pork, shrimp, and kimchi dumplings served with a chili crunch and ponzu sauce that tied the entire dish together beautifully. She jokingly threatened to drink the remaining sauce after finishing the dumplings (she didn't), but she did convince me to dip one of my fries into it. She was absolutely right--it was fantastic. In fact, I now regret turning down the dumpling she generously offered me. Part of the fun of dining here is watching Shuck-Master Slim work. He's not only remarkably skilled but entertaining as well, adding a little personality to an already enjoyable experience. From the fresh seafood to the outstanding value and friendly atmosphere, this was another memorable visit to the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. If you haven't been to The Atlantic on Pacific, I highly recommend adding it to your list. Both the host and our server were very friendly. The restaurant itself is nice - it has a dark, masculine decor vibe. While I loved the types of chairs they use, I will say their tables for two are very small. They had this little side table type of thing and that was where I had to put my purse and some of the extra dishes to have room. We had the Wyagu Ribeye and the Picahna steak. Both were very good and cooked to perfection. I had the risotto which I didn't feel was cooked right; it had a gummy texture. The Cesar salad was one of the best I've had. I am not sure if their dressing is house made but it was very good and the addition of prosciutto was a nice touch! I also had a Paloma that was very fresh! Now this is supposed to be a steak house and cantina. The decor did give traditional cantina vibes, but the menu did not offer many traditional cantina type foods. If you are looking for cantina style dishes, you may find yourself disappointed. We did do the guacamole though, and it was just OK I'd say. Would I come back? For the steak and salad yes. We were greeted immediately, seated right away, and our waitress was attentive and friendly throughout the evening. Before ordering, I actually spoke with the owner, Gaston, because I wanted his recommendation for the best steak on the menu. He confidently recommended the Cowboy Ribeye, assuring me that it was one of their signature steaks. I ordered it medium rare with a little char, exactly the way I enjoy it. I also asked if I could substitute the mashed potatoes and broccoli for another side since I don't eat either of those. I was told substitutions were not allowed. For a $60 steak, I found that disappointing. I wasn't asking for anything extravagant--just a different vegetable or a simple side salad. When my steak arrived, it was much smaller than I expected for the price and didn't resemble the Cowboy Ribeye I was anticipating. It was cooked slightly over medium rare, and while it wasn't terrible, the flavor was only average and had a slightly off taste, almost as if the broiler hadn't been cleaned recently. To make matters worse, the mashed potatoes and broccoli I had specifically asked to leave off the plate were served anyway. To be fair, the service was excellent. Our waitress handled everything professionally and even apologized for the sides, explaining the kitchen had plated them before she could stop it. The chicken scallopini ordered by someone else in our party was very good, and the other chicken entrées were also enjoyed. Unfortunately, I came for the steak, and that's where the experience fell well short of expectations. At this price point, I expected a high-quality cut of beef, some flexibility with side dishes, and an overall experience that matched the cost. Instead, it felt like every effort was made to minimize portions and avoid accommodating a simple request. I always try to support local restaurants, and I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews. But when you're paying premium prices, the food should reflect it. Based on my experience, I can't recommend the steaks here.

The ambiance was nice, the open kitchen with the wood fire hearth right at the entrance added a warm cozy feel from the onset. The restaurant was warmly lit but not dark. We were seated immediately in the far left dining area in an elevated booth. After reviewing the menu we settled on the fried deviled eggs and wood fire oysters for starters and the Vincent Vega pizza for dinner. Fried deviled eggs was a first for us and it was so good! The egg white was breaded very lightly and fried and the egg yolk was piped on top with a piece of smoky delicious bacon goodness. It had a nice smoky, bacon-y taste and we devoured them. I only wish you got more than 2 pieces. I think 4 pieces would be better for the price considering it's essentially one egg but I'm not complaining. The wood fire oysters was another hit for us, the serving came with 6 half shell oysters topped with breadcrumbs (light), swimming in butter and fire roasted. I think we ate these even faster than the deviled eggs lol! Would definitely get these again. The pizza also did not disappoint. If you like bacon, mushrooms and creamy Boursin cheese, you'll love this pizza. We added crushed red pepper flakes which added a nice kick. The crust is the star of the show; thin, crispy but still has body and slightly chewy. Yum! That wood fire hearth definitely makes a difference. Overall we had a great experience and will definitely be back! The staff were also very nice and friendly.

For drinks, I kept it simple with a tequila sunset and substituted pineapple juice for orange juice a good drink! Now for the meals. I ordered the lamb chops with mashed potatoes and green beans. I hate to even say this because I had such high hopes, but the lamb chops lacked seasoning for me. I ordered them medium, but they were definitely more medium rare. I love a medium rare ribeye, but not so much with lamb chops. The mashed potatoes and green beans were decent, but overall needed a little more flavor. Our waiter was very absent for the most part, it did take a while for us to get our drinks and order; not much check backs for refills and such but overall he was a good server. The food is always amazing, I've never had a negative experience for their food. And the location is nice. The establishment is clean, more on the higher end, we came in dressed to impress for our date but you had a mix of how people were dressed. Down to just your everyday wear. 10/10 recommend

From the moment I arrived, the service was warm, attentive, and made for a wonderful dining experience. I decided to try several items from the **Seasonal Chef Recommendations** menu, and every course was excellent. I started with the Crispy Barbacoa Arancini, followed by the Shanghai Braised Short Ribs, which were incredibly tender, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. I finished the meal with the S'mores dessert, and it was the perfect sweet ending. During my wine tasting, I discovered the Vin Velouté. It was so good that I couldn't leave without taking a bottle home! I was also thrilled to learn that the Watermelon Paloma wine has returned--and even better, it's now a permanent addition to the wine lineup instead of just a seasonal favorite. That was exciting news! This visit truly reminded me why I've enjoyed coming to Cooper's Hawk over the years. Great food, outstanding service, an enjoyable wine tasting, and a wonderful overall experience. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

All 3 of us chose sweet for our wine tasting. Our server was a lot of fun and very knowledgeable about the wine. You get to taste one wine on each category listed on your menu. The samples of each wine are a generous pour. Some Wineries I've visited, do not provide big enough samples to determine if you like them enough to buy a bottle or not. Sweet Red was my favorite. Sweet Red is currently known as Romance Red. It changes names Seasonally. Dinner was outstanding. I had Gnocchi with Roasted Butternut Squash, Wild mushrooms, Sweet onion cream, Spinach, Feta and Crispy onions. It was a very tasty meal. My Great Niece chose the Pork chop and said it was the best she had ever had. My Niece had a Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad which she said was delicious. I had a very enjoyable afternoon with my Nieces. We will definitely return to Cooper's Hawk soon.

Stepping inside feels like taking a step back in time. The Hunt Room is rich with history and timeless charm. One of the enduring local legends is that President Nixon burned some of the Watergate evidence in the massive stone fireplace. Whether the story is true or simply part of the hotel's lore, it certainly adds another layer of intrigue to an already remarkable setting. The staff was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely appreciative of their guests. They go out of their way to make you feel at home and ensure you'll want to return. If you're an Old Fashioned fan, don't miss theirs. It's made with whiskey distilled on-site at the hotel's distillery, and it was one of the best I've had in quite some time. Whether you're looking for a quiet evening, a handcrafted cocktail, or simply a chance to soak in a little Virginia Beach history, The Hunt Room is well worth a visit. If you've never been, you're in for a memorable experience.

It's located in the basement of the historic Cavalier Hotel which is absolutely gorgeous. Valet parking and they charge you $7 and if you pay through the app, it's additional $1.25 service charge. Like they aren't charging you enough for the food, now you have to pay for parking too. Let's not forget the tip for the valet guy too (deserved). The atmosphere is like a man's cave. Dark and like the name, "hunt" decorated. When you enter there are overstuffed leather sofas in front of a fireplace. Tons of photos of animals as well as taxidermy animals. Everything relating to hunting. The place was rather loud with a few large parties. To the point that my guest and I couldn't even hear each other. Once they left, it was nice and quiet, unfortunately, we were about to leave as well. I was told it's best to make a reservation, so I did through open table but I don't think it was needed at the time of our off-peak visit (3.16.2026). Service was great. The waiter kept returning to see if we needed anything and how the food was. It was our first time trying the Oysters Rockefeller ($18 for 6) which is Half Shell Oysters stuffed with a creamy spinach and applewood smoked bacon which were good. At this time, I had nothing to compare them to, but 2 days later, I had them at The Atlantic on Pacific and those were SO MUCH BETTER! A lot cheaper too during happy hour. I had the Filet Mignon ($49) - Garlic and Herb whipped Potatoes, Roasted Broccolini, Tarnished Truth Steak Sauce and Sauteed Mushrooms (I'm allergic to Mushrooms so I had them on the side for my guest to enjoy them). Very good meal. The Tarnished Truth Steak Sauce is so yummy, I could drink it. Complimented the Filet Mignon and the potatoes so well. The broccolini was also delicious. For dessert I got the Smore's Brownie ($10). It was more like a chocolate cake with marshmallow, Caramel and Chocolate Sauce and Vanilla Ice Cream. It was not worth the money or the calories. Pretty tasteless. You need walnuts in a Brownie or it's just chocolate cake. I had gotten a Reuben sandwich ($18) to go and it was very fatty like bacon. Unfortunately, it was a waste of money because more than half of it went in the garbage due to it being so fatty. I felt the place was rather pricey and if you are just dining there, I do feel the valet parking should be free or reimbursed by the restaurant (i.e. take the charge off the bill). I think you can find some more reasonable places and better food nearby.

Stopped by for a burger and a beer to drown in my solitude. Had great service. Prompt, attentive and genuine. Only downside was some pretentious guy named Jeff kept whining about the hostess and the service being "special needs" because he couldn't get his group prompt service under 15 minutes on a special holiday. If it wasn't for some derogative guy whining off the bell about how the service wasn't up to par every couple minutes I'd have enjoyed what would've been quite a depressing day for me. Other than that, burger was damn heavenly. Beer was cold and good. Service was grand. Some people just ruin it for others. Great spot, great burger, good beer and good folks. B.W.

The last time I set foot inside their Pleasure House Rd location was at least 10 years ago. I celebrated my birthday there as my friends were kind enough to take me out. It was a Sunday morning and I sought out a place that offered brunch. I noticed 1608 was open and decided to head over, especially since I haven't visited them in ages. When I walked in, I noticed their dining room is dimly lit - much darker than I remember. I was greeted immediately by a kind hostess and she proceeded to sit me at a nearby table and provided me with menus (one food, one alcohol). I took my time looking over the food menu, and in the meantime I ordered a pint of Center of the Universe's Bald Irishman and a bottle of Boylan's Black Cherry soda (they do not have a soda fountain). What made this visit memorable was that 1608's bartender, Hunter, was an old acquaintance from back in my restaurant days. He spotted me and came over to say hi. After my meal, I continued to catch up with him at the bar. His presence made a pleasant experience even more fantastic. I thought I was hungry, so I ordered 2 dishes - Smoked Ham Fried Rice and the Breakfast Burrito. According to Hunter, every item is made fresh in house. After biting into each, you could tell that's true. Both the fried rice and burrito were delicious and boasted lots of flavor. Although I prefer my fried rice a bit simpler (if you give me just garlic fried rice, I am SET), 1608's fried rice (veggies, garlic, soy, basmati rice, 2 runny eggs, smoked ham) had a lot going on, which made for a flavorful dish. I liked the rice and the burrito (Korean style fried chicken breast, scrambled eggs, cilantro lime, cheddar, pico de gallo) a lot. I didn't finish either because it was a lot of food (I really thought I was hungry, haha). But these leftovers turned into a fantastic dinner later on. 1608 looked clean and organized, although I thought it was a little too dark inside, at least for brunch service. That's not a dealbreaker since everything from the food to the service was as excellent as I remember. I hope to return soon with my mom. Regardless, I'll find my way back eventually. Thank you, 1608 Crafthouse! And great seeing you again, Hunter! JV

We ordered the truffle fries (my husband loved them) but I thought they needed a little more truffle. I told the waiter what drink I liked and he customized one for me. It was really good I had two! P.S: The server and host were attentive and nice, so the low rating is entirely for the food. My bf and I ordered a truffle fries to share, I ordered the Braveheart Ribeye with broccolini and risotto(forgot what flavor but it was cooked in a cream sauce), and my bf ordered the Ribeye Lasagna. The truffle fries: the fries tasted fresh but they looked like the b-dub fries. Comes with ketchup, which I was hoping for some sort of aioli for an upscale chophouse. The Braveheart Ribeye: The temperature was what I asked for(medium rare), but the char is straight up crispy brunt and bitter as if I'm eating charcoal pieces. I also ordered a demi glaze on the side, and that tasted and looked like some McCormick sauce. No demi-glaze flavor and the color is transparent like those powdered gravy packets. The broccolini was bitter. They were tucked under the steak so maybe the brunt from the steak went onto the broccolini... The risotto was creamy but they were undercooked cuz they were still hard. My bf said his Ribeye Lasagna just tasted like a normal lasagna like he couldn't tell the difference of normal beef and the "ribeye meat" that they used, but it was a big size and the sauce was pretty good so he thinks it's worth the money. The creme brulee... I have this tradition with my bf which we will order a creme brulee(if the restaurant provides) during our first visit. I'm no Michelin creme brulee reviewer, but I'd say I tried and made enough creme brulee to identify what a standard and good creme brulee is, and unfortunately this just ain't one. The flame on top is a cool gimmick but it melts the supposedly crispy top to a little too soft (we waited for about 5 mins after the flame was gone before eating it). The texture of the creme was NOT creme brulee but more like flan, when the creme should've been more of a custard/solid but creamy like texture. We were told their creme brulee has a little orangey-taste to it, but the orangey taste just totally covers the flavor of creme brulee. All we could taste was a bitter orange flan. Although my bf likes his lasagna, we both agreed that for this price we would've expected better tasting food. I have no doubt that the ingredients they used were high quality, but this is just not gonna go nowhere when you don't have the right chef to cook them.
