I had a reservation for lunch prior to the potential winter storm. Since the roads were clear today my husband & l had a lunch date. When we got there we were the only guest. Halfway through our meal other guest started to arrive. We got the restaurant week special and also tried the crab deviled eggs and lamb skewers. The service was great!! Our server brought out plates and silverware for the appetizers then replaced them before our entrees came. The deviled eggs were good. I thought the crab would be on top, but was pleasantly surprised to find limp crab meat underneath the egg mixture. It also had a slight kick to it which I enjoyed. The lamb skewers were so yummy!! My husband loves lamb so he was very pleased. They were seasoned well and cooked perfectly. My husband got the chicken and I got the skirt steak. You definitely get your moneys worth. My husband had a half chicken which was juicy and the steak was cooked well and a nice size. I loved the fries & aioli!! The salad was very good too, had a light lemon type vinaigrette on it. I tried the coffee cream which had a distinct coffee taste which I enjoyed. Definitely a great spot for date night or ladies night. 3 main complaints. 1) The service was bad -- waitress ignored us and drinks served after main courses arrived. 2). The steaks were *drenched* in butter so very moist but it was too much butter and certainly not healthy. 3). More annoying that all of that was the mandatory $4 "platform fee" to pay the bill via the QR code that they supplied. No paper bill just a QR code, fine but then you charge me $4 to pay the bill!?!! The biggest disappointment was that I brought a cake for my dad's birthday and they told us if we cut the cake, they would charge us $3.50 per person. Overall the food was amazing and tasted great! The bread rolls are awesome and I would describe as "upscale roadhouse rolls". The salad was nice and refreshing. The appetizers were good. The steak was cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was upscale and lighting was nice. It was fairly busy for Christmas Eve and the noise level was not bad. The one complaint I do have is that our waitress either needed more training or help. I would expect at a place this nice for my drink to not be spilled. I would also expect my waitress to not seem flustered with minor tasks. I feel like place settings should already be set at the table and that I should not be waiting for my waitress to bring over silverware to eat my salad. read more

The restaurant is visually beautiful and situated in a pleasant location... however, the service was extremely disappointing. It took approximately forty minutes before anyone approached our table to take drink orders. Throughout the meal the waitress rarely checked on us and eventually went on break at which point another staff member attended to our table. Unfortunately, this individual was rude and unprofessional. It is also important to note that the restaurant was not busy at the time, which made the delays and lack of attention even more concerning. Had the restaurant been crowded the situation might have been more understandable. Due to the lack of attentiveness, our visit lasted nearly four hours...we arrived during daylight and left after dark which was entirely unreasonable for a dining experience. There was no justification for us to have remained at the restaurant for such an extended period. During our meal we requested to speak with the manager but this interaction was also unsatisfactory. She approached the table in a defensive manner, did not ask about the issue, and offered little to no apology. While I thoroughly enjoyed the food, quality cuisine does not excuse poor service...especially given the cost of the meal and the fact that an automatic gratuity was applied despite the experience. I would not discourage others from visiting as I believe people should form their own opinions however I would recommend keeping expectations modest. read more

Service and atmosphere was nice. If you want intimacy, acoustics not good and very loud. Crab dip and rolls apps were amazing. Main courses, just so so. Waiter recommended my burger medium, which is what I wanted anyway, but came well done and dry. Fries are good but WAY too salty. Sweet potato sides were very good and lobster rolls were good. Pricy for what you get, in general. Three of the four of us used the restrooms and everyone came back and said, "what is with it being so dark?". Not sure what that is about. read more

So the kid and I are on the road, visiting our former home... absolutely could not miss an opportunity to support our favorite restaurant family from DC, Knead Hospitality! Do yourself a favor and get a Reserve membership if you're a true foodie. It's super worth it! We made reservations through our reserve membership, and would probably not have had a chance without it... It was beautiful inside. Very similar to the one in Washington. Bigger bar to accommodate the oceanfront crowds. Same fantastic quality and service here as we always experience back in DC! We had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Jason, and he welcomed us like family! The Reserve complimentary hors d'oeuvres, the clam chowder, the kebabs, the seafood linguine... all delicious!! It just opened, so they're gaining traction. Do not believe any negative feedback until you have been there yourself! I haven't figured out the new parking issues here yet, so plan accordingly. My friend and I stopped in for a sip and snack after attending an event at the dome. We were greeted and seated at the bar. We waited about 10 minutes until someone approached us with menus. We placed our orders. While waiting, one of the bartenders was cleaning glasses and the sprayer sprayed across the area and hit me in the face and chest. The bartender didnt even apologize and I had to ask for a napkin to wipe the fluid off me and my clothes. I was ready to leave at that point but my friend wanted to wait to see if anyone would approach us. Needless to sya, they didnt. Our apps and drink arrived but I lost my appetite so we asked for the bill. There was only 2 of us, yet the 20% gratuity was already included AND a suggested gratuity list was added to the receipt. One drink and an app came for 54 dollars (neither of which was ate/drank). We will not be back nor would I recommend the place. read more

Customer service wasn't up to par. Started out very strong but quickly degraded as time went on. The atmosphere is very modern, very open and bright, however, that's their prime attribute. My husband and I came here for our first dine in experience for Valentine's Day. We ordered the fancy chicken tenders, steak and eggs, and lechon asado hash. The chicken was 2/3 breading, 1/3 chicken, and one of the tenders was completely drenched in crème fraiche. You couldn't taste the Nashville hot flavor at all. Not to mention it felt like there was too much going on once you added the honey on top so the honey only lasted for one bite. After taking away our appetizer plates, we waited for an additional 20 minutes or so for our food. We noticed a table next to us who were seated about 15 minutes after we were seated and they were able to receive their food, finish, pay, and leave before we received ours or saw our server again. There were no check-ins, no apology for the delay, nor was the food hot when it did arrive at our table. The steak and eggs did not come with a steak knife while another table next to ours received one for theirs. We were told the plantains for the asado hash would be on the side but was mixed in with the rest of the dish aside from the eggs and the side salad it came with. It got to a point where we did not want to be in the establishment any longer and bringing in a manager felt like a moot point. Even if we were to reflect on our server's attentiveness or accommodation we no less had to pay the 20% tip as there wasn't an option to leave anything lower than that. To pay in total with tip ~$127 is not worth the experience we had. All in all, this is not a restaurant I would return to. read more

The place is very nice, a little too cold for a restaurant but should be a plus in the summer time - you'll definitely appreciate the cool atmosphere here. The service was excellent, door to check everyone made us feel like we're the main guests. And they did everything to accommodate the allergy request we had. The food was very average. I understand that it's hard to turn branzini into a masterpiece, but it had too much paprika that was hiding all its taste. The ribs were nice and had a great taste, but it was just like any ribs at the store prepped food section. Pesto in pasta was too spicy. Although it was an ad-hoc because of the allergies we mentioned. Salad was okay too. No meal was bad, everything was okay, just nothing to be thrilled about. I am extremely disappointed with the experience my party and I had at The Grill on 19th Street in Virginia Beach on June 13. A confirmed reservation was made in advance, and a follow-up phone call was placed at approximately 2:15 p.m. to verify the reservation details. Despite taking the proper steps and receiving confirmation, when we arrived at the restaurant, we were not accommodated as promised. What made the situation even more frustrating was the way it was handled by management. Victoria, the manager, along with another general manager, were both unprofessional, dismissive, and unwilling to provide a reasonable solution. Rather than attempting to honor our reservation or make accommodations, we were only offered two very limited menu items, which was completely unacceptable considering the circumstances. The lack of communication, poor customer service, and disregard for paying customers was shocking. A confirmed reservation should mean something, especially when guests have taken the time to call and verify beforehand. Instead, we were treated as though our business and time were not valued. I am requesting that corporate review this matter immediately. Both managers are fully aware of who I am and the situation that occurred. I will continue to address this issue until it is resolved properly. Customers deserve professionalism, accountability, and respect, none of which were demonstrated during this experience. This was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I have encountered, and I expect a response from corporate regarding how this matter will be addressed. read more

We dined on Christmas evening as the party of 7. First we were seated in the small table despite the fact that the place was not crowded at all. It was definitely for 6 people and very uncomfortable, so we asked if we can be seated at the table that accommodate 7 people. We were moved to much comfortable table after all. Thank you for not ruining my Christmas with my family. Sarah was very professional and very kind, and we appreciate all her service provided for us. Coming from Washington DC area, we are so used to all type of the fine dining, so my review maybe too harsh. First, atmosphere was 5 stars, and the service was excellent, I must say. The food was just okay. It's not all impressive. Considering no one had to cook for Christmas dinner, this restaurant definitely helped us relax and eat. If you are looking for a date night dinner, you may be pleased dining here for romantic night out. Overall, we are thankful that they provided us great service on Christmas night. I went there with my wife and another couple on a Friday night. The place was very busy, but the service was great and you would never know they were busy. I've seen some reviews saying the food service was slow, but we did not have that issue at all. The food was AMAZING! Three of us had the petite filet mignon and the fourth had the skirt steak. All of the steaks were cooked perfectly! We also had the green beans, mushrooms, and spinach for sides. I would recommend all of those as the flavors were great. This restaurant is definitely worth it. We will go again I'm sure. read more

Her butt cheeks were hanging out. And her friend was wearing a one piece see through outfit. If I am going to pay $500 for dinner, the dress code she be up to par and enforced. I would recommend everyone to stay away from this place. This place gave my poor wife food poisoning. The service was also very Slow and sporadic. When my wife attempted to make a change to a cocktail she wanted to order, she was informed of that all the drinks are pre-packaged and changes are not permitted. This was not an isolated experience unfortunately as the table next to us had to wait almost 15 minute to get water or initial service. We were seated next to a server station, not a big deal unless servers stack up two or three wide and management use it as place to run management huddles. They might as well have been seated with us. Got brushed up against and reached over several times as servers interacted with the station. Pre-staged crafts of water and other items floated over my head as they were removed or placed at the station since servers were interacting with the station from the side or over the shoulders of others. The best part was watching servers pluck the wide mouth water refill crafts from the station by burying three fingers inside the mouth and then carrying it to tables to offer refills. Priceless was it when the server dragged those digits out of the craft mouth and refill customers waters. The best was watching to see who noticed and the reaction as water was being poured from where three well traveled meat hooks had previously been! Food was good, drink portions were small relative to cost. Hopefully presentation fills you up because the thin body glass full of ice won't. Enjoy your two sips! read more
