We went for a quick meal while visiting Wonderworks and The Hangout was the perfect break! Our server Brittany was amazing; the perfect mix of present but not overbearing, kind and fun but not familiar. The food was delicious, we had a range of burgers, salads, and apps and everything was very tasty and perfectly cooked. The decor is a lot of fun with the various wall decorations. Service was excellent and the entertainment was fun as well. I did not enjoy my food. I had the shrimp and grits and it was way too salty and spicy to be enjoyed. The grits were gritty and not smooth at all. On the positive side, my daughter enjoyed her burger and fries. The chicken nachos appetizer was just okay. Very fun! We went during the off season while visiting for my daughter's gymnastics competition and decided to celebrate her birthday there. Stopped in for dinner- mostly fried food, but several non fried items too. It was totally empty, so the service was excellent! We had the chips, veggies and hummus- they forgot the veggies.! Also had 2 Cobb salads, they were very good and large. It was very loud though, the band was playing outside and music playing inside. Our waitress last night was non existent, then when she delivered our bill said that 20% gratuity was already included for our party of 10.... Which is true, that is their policy. Gratuity is included for parties of 10. However we were only a party of 8. She ran our appetizers as a "guest" to include a guaranteed tip. I absolutely despise that because it feels scummy. We have dined here w an actual party of 10 and the waitress told us up front this was the policy and was super transparent to not have any surprises. This is my first time coming here, the atmosphere and design in this location is awesome very comfortable. One thing to be aware of is the fact that it is loud in this location. The talk host was entertaining. The audience was ecstatic and participated in all the events. Though my thoughts on the food unfortunately were not so good. I ordered the Life Guard burger medium rare with Fries with an addition of onions on the burger. After 15 minutes I received the burger, I was surprised by the expedited process. My fries and burger was room temperature, the fries did not taste fresh, and my burger was not medium rare, in fact the guests burgers next to me were more medium rare than mine. As for the flavor it is not excellent despite the qualifier on the menu. Additionally, the guests burgers next to me was not cooked to their specifications [well done], in fact our server had to take the burger to the manager to show the manager. Lastly, another guest at our table ordered a side of Mac N Cheese only to find out that they did not receive it until after we were about finished. Ultimately, I felt that the cost of the food for the quality of the food was not equal. The quality of the food was lacking in comparison to the cost of the food. One last slightly non-related thing, as I was in a group more than 10 people a 20% gratuity was added. I do not believe it should be placed on the customers to fund the servers wages, that responsibility should rest on the employer. read more

Stand in your chair fun! LITERALLY! Great atmosphere with live entertainment every hour. The wagyu burger wasn't as good as I had hoped but the wife's pimento cheeseburger was amazing. Prices aren't cheap but they aren't too crazy considering everything is 20 a plate on most restaurants down here. Super fun place- the shrimp and grits was amazing, family loved the entertainment but review is based on our server Taylor. Apparently policy is on the weekend to automatically add 18% gratuity to the bill, but the server is to let the customer know gratuity has been added. Taylor DID NOT let us know the gratuity was added, and since I never expected an automatic gratuity, I did not look at the broken down check (bill) when it was presented to me. The total bill was $167 and I added $30 for the tip. After getting home I discovered the tip was already included so she got a $55 tip! It was a pricey evening out but after getting scammed on the gratuity I'm not sure I'll be going back. read more

I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this place. They have a LARGE outside area that is perfect for families who have littles that cannot sit still, but inside is a show itself. They have lunch pails, pez dispensers, and rubber duckies everywhere and then do little shows throughout. We both got beers and some crab legs for our lunches and it was big and very filling. But every single other thing is great. It's a destination. The ambiance is spectacular, everyone had fun from kids to adults. If you have a wait for a table, head outside, get a drink from the outside bar and watch the band while you wait. We were very surprised at the amount of property owned by the hangout! There is a ton of room to walk around, a foam area and sand pit for the littles and a huge stage for live music. We spent the evening here and had a blast. If I could rate the atmosphere alone I would give it 5 stars! However the food was simply lacking. We started with friend pickles which were quite tasty but a little bit soggy. For dinner we split the seafood boil with crab legs, shrimp, mussels, potatoes and corn. Unfortunately the shrimp was over cooked, and the overall flavor was pretty bland. We were definitely expecting more flavor. I would still recommend this place to anyone because it really is a great time but I would try other menu items if we visited again. Today, my family and I (aged 9 - 81) visited The Hangout for the first time. Our waitress, Cheyenne, was amazing! Not only was she super attentive to my Nana, but she was able to answer all of our questions from the menu, and gave us great recommendations! I loved all of the decor, from the Pez dispensers, to the rubber ducks and the old metal lunchboxes! The fried pickles were delicious along with their house made ranch. I had the shrimp platter, which was fresh caught and battered. All of our food was delicious! We are going to come back one night for the live entertainment they offer. We went in mid august and they said if your birthday was in august or September to get up in the table and dance! The Hangout is one of the coolest concept places I have ever been to. Not only is it a rather large music venue, and giant restaurant but an interactive experience. They have a humongous gift shop, a foam pit, sand and slides, life size games, and an MC that gets on stage in between musical set breaks and gets the crowd literally on the table. I have never saw anything like this. This is a family friendly place but still can bring in the adult fun. If you are looking for some great entertainment for your birthday make sure to get there around 7 pm to get a table inside and eat. Then stay til 10 for the full experience. Oh, you WILL be projected love to the whole audience. We went to see Julio and the Saltines lastnight and they were amazing as usual. Then outside bartender was really nice but the reason that I am giving 4 stars is because the inside bartenders were not that busy and ignored us for over 20 minute to place a food order. The hostess could have been more pleasant, too. This place could be an easy 5 if that didn't happen. We didn't try the food but it looked really good. read more

The atmosphere was very energetic. Do not come here if you don't like loud places there was loud music and lots of yelling because and things, I didn't mind because everyone was having fun.
