Stopped here for lunch before leaving Myrtle to fly home. Hangout is part of Boardwalk at the Beach, which is within 10 minutes drive of the MYR airport. Due to the off season, the restaurant was fairly empty. We decided to sit at the bar, and the bartender was friendly, providing fast service. I ordered the Snapper PoBoy and it came out quickly. This is a convenient spot if you want to kill time before heading to the airport, and I'm sure in the evening during peak season is a fun spot to hangout. read more

Our worst restaurant experience on the Atlantic Coast. Waited for a table for almost 2 hours. Watched every table fill, empty, and fill again when cited 30 minute wait. Combative host staff, when asked if we could at least walk around while we waited. The reason we were cited for waiting was a pre-shift meeting and shift change. All we wanted was to order food for our hungry kids, instead we missed out on a few hours of our hard earned vacation that we could have been doing many other things doing. This has been one of the most amazing restaurants I've taken my kids to, I absolutely loved the idea of the wish wall, my kids enjoyed writing down their wishes and the atmosphere was very entertaining for all age groups, the staff was extremely inviting and they did not disappoint with engaging the crowd with one another super fun. Visited Myrtle Beach for the first time for our volleyball tournament. As a team mom I was task with finding a place for our team dinner. Heard good things about the hangout so we sent an email and they made a reservation for 30 without any issues. We had a blast!! The kids and parents enjoyed the entertainment and the food! I love how they salute the military, teachers, all first responders before starting any show. It's a family friendly atmosphere that also offers great service and good food. Me and my wife were down for valentines weekend at Myrtle Beach SC. We decided to put in reservations at the hangout for Saturday night at 7 pm. We got there at 6:55. We walked in and asked the hostess about our reservations. The hostess asked our names and then proceeded to tell us the servers were down and she didn't know if we had reservations. We asked the obvious questions if there was any way to find out and how long. The hostess got angry and said this just happened and it wasn't her fault! My wife told her she didn't have to be rude but seeing as we made reservations 3 days in advance a text would have been nice. The hostess got even more upset saying she had 13 more people to seat ahead of us. I work with the public and this type of service is unacceptable. Food- I got crab legs and I thought they were good , no much seasoning and sort of hard to crack but overall good . It was very messy as the butter was poured over the meal. Those with me got the bbq burger and said it was really good. The server Jordan was amazing and once ordered our food came fast . This is a great place to go for experience especially if you have kids . The hourly dances and speaker are amazing with getting the crowd to have fun. The outdoor area is very open and beachy. The chicken nachos were mediocre at best, but with the amount of alcohol they put in the drinks here, some at the table were rendered indifferent to the quality of the food and enjoyed the nachos irregardless. The Hangout is a FANTASTIC addition to what had been a dead area of Broadway at the Beach for a long time. We were in town for a week and I think we went to The Hangout probably 4 times for the music. They have nightly live music on a huge outdoor stage from 6:00-10:00 PM. In addition, they are always doing something fun inside one the restaurant's small indoor stage. It is really a lot of fun. Even if you aren't looking to dine there, there is a large bar inside and a couple of drink stands outside. It's a great place for a fun group or team outing. There is even a slide from the second floor and a huge gift shop - I had to leave with a Hangout t-shirt! If you're looking for a quiet dinner or a fine, upscale dining experience; look elsewhere. But if you're looking for an energetic fun time, something very unique, The Hangout is definitely worth checking out! read more

This isn't really my idea of a great dining experience, but for what it is, it is a fun place to go with family and friends. I usually prefer quiet restaurants with very good food, but I was invited here to celebrate a friend's birthday. The food was ok, and the service was good. I was a bit disappointed in my burger as it tasted and looked like a frozen patty, not a freshly made burger as the menu states. My friend ordered the pulled pork nachos based on the server's recommendation. He couldn't eat them because the sauce was syrupy sweet. These were minor disappointments in the grand scheme of things. My only real complaint was that they had an automatic service gratuity at 20% without advising us, yet they also showed the calculations on the receipt to add gratuity. Had I not looked at the detailed receipt carefully, I would've ended up double-tipping. read more

I cannot express the depth of disappointment in this company. We are at the Yacht Rock Revue. I was appreciative of the free tickets. We have been here for other concerts. Enjoyed the drinks. Brought others. Preparing for this show, I called asking whether chairs were allowed. It was an adamant no. Even the manager in the background confirmed no. We reserved with time posted for 6pm. We get here and there are chairs. Like not just a few. Had we known, we would have brought them. I voiced frustration to the manager and the owner. I understand there are older population. There's 2 of us in this outing. Had we known we would be grateful but hear me out. You said no so we didn't bring them. I know you can't make everyone happy. I am trying to sit okay with this even as I'm so confused and frustrating. Then..... we are told we can't sit on the blanket I brought. So you decide to allow chairs but not blankets? Why the inconsistency? Last thing. We find out that the start time was changed to 7pm. Truly, I appreciate the free tickets. If I had chairs, I suppose I'd appreciate that you changed the rules. OMG. Absolutely loved this place!! Here for my first time at the world Amatuer golf tourney, (week long) The "meet and greet" was here, and though I have nothing to compare it to, I think it was THE PERFECT SPOT! For starters: location. "At the end/corner", not a lot of foot traffic that wasn't meant to be there. Wide open grassy area to dance, play around, let toddlers roam, sit comfortably to watch the band...and so much outdoor eating space (down AND upstairs!) you could easily enjoy the live music! And the outdoor tvs let you see everything that was going on inside too! So you couldn't miss anything!! Food: imo. Very affordable for a vacation spot-which usually charges outrageous prices just so they can! I got red snapper w a side ,for $35! Which is avg going rate for that fish!! And a nice size piece AND too many fries for me to finish! Seasoned perfectly, with a drizzle of aioli sauce- AMAZING! Drinks: PLENTY to choose from, I mainly did shots and a mixed drink. (I took the kiddie twirl cup home as a souvenir!). They have several frozen daiquiri mixes to choose from with great flavor options : but note...kids enjoy them as well,,so they aren't made w alcohol. After adding alcohol the ice melts pretty quickly.. but still great STAFF: incredible! They take a page from CFA and train the waitstaff, the cleaners, the bar staff to ALWAYS smile and acknowledge EVERY CUSTOMER who locks eyes with them! Attentive, happy to accommodate, and right when I thought it was gonna take them awhile to get to our table of 8, by the time I left to go to the restroom, they had come and gone! (Glad I left my order w a friend!) And it took NO time for our food to come AND ALL AT THE SAME TIME! ENTERTAINMENT: if you've not been you just have to trust that this is one of a kind. Despite it having a full length bar across the front, it still is family friendly, and bachelorette party friendly, and golf senior friendly, and,... it's simply made for anyone who wants to have a good time laughing and dancing and being respectfully raucous!! In the center of the dining is a round stage and over the course of the 2.5hrs we were there, two sep guys stood in the center and talked to the patrons. Encouraging folk to laugh, interact, and yes...even dance ON THE TABLE! Even the kids got to do it!! PHENOMENAL! The wait staff did several coordinated dancing (wherever they happened to be standing...including OUTSIDE). They did a timed "shoot all napkins and streamers into the air" which covers the floor like the peanuts at a well known steak house! They did a congo line around the diners grabbing folk to happily join in, and ended w a full house slide dance!! CLEANERS: and a shout out to the cleaners...constantly and efficiently cleaning the floors. Even after the white mass of napkins and streamers "carpeted the entire place", it all disappeared within 10-15minutes as the cleaners (WITH SMILES ON THEIR FACES) made them vanish in a moment! I could prob write so much more, but I'll stop here. Make a reservation, was able to get a big party in no issues close to 40 of us. The waitress was super nice and attentive. They used four tables and our waitress took two tables and the other another two tables. The place is huge and it also has a second floor with inside balcony so you can watch down to the first floor. So much to choose from on the menu. We ordered blacken chicken po boy which I enjoyed it was delicious. The chicken tenders with a side of Mac and cheese which the Mac and cheese was amazing. The hangout burger very good but needed ketchup or mustard just missing something but a bit pricey maybe because of the whistle that come on top of it. You can get a souvenir cup for adults with alcoholic icee for $22 or $24 bucks I forgot. Kids can get one with certain drinks for $8 bucks. There's a show for birthday people which is cool and then they thank military,police,firman, health care workers. It very cool how the entire staff is so energetic.
