This was my second time here , I wasn't as impressed from the previous time so I gave it one more chance seeing they recently been named in various local articles, I am glad I did because this experience was much better... I got the bourbon hangria not only does it look pretty it tastes even better! As appetizers we had the pretzel bites with BEER CHEESE - it's so good and the pretzel bites are so fresh. For my burger I went ahead and chose the bison burger in a lettuce wrap with fries , it was delicious ... I love the whole idea of building your own and writing on the menus... this place is more on the expensive side for burgers and craft cocktails so just keep that in mind. I am glad I had a better experience this time especially after them being so busy when we first walked in, service was great and friendly which always adds to the experience. read more

What a pleasant surprise. Met s few friends there for an early dinner and appreciated the friendly service. The food was very good. I had the impossible burger while my friends enjoyed the bison burger. I liked how you can select your own toppings and sauce. I did mine with arugula, red pepper and cucumbers for texture along with the garlic aioli. The sweet potato fries were a stand out, probably the best version I have ever had. Crispy on the outside , light, and slightly creamy on the inside served with a maple dip. A must have is the pretzel bites, again the best version with light pretzels served with a queso. The server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the extensive menu, suggesting that we start with The Hangover: crispy pork rinds smothered in beer cheese sauce, jalapeños, bacon, onions, and greens (no tomatoes). It sounds intense and it was! But in the very best way. Every bite was better than the last and, had I not been headed back to work, this would have paired perfectly with a cocktail or beer (next time!). I used the "create your own" on the back of the menu to select a grilled chicken breast on a bed of greens with bacon, Swiss, and honey mustard. I've ventured to the Winter Park village many times and walked by this place but today I finally tried it. Let me start by saying the friendly greeter was warm and welcoming. Big smiles and excited to see us. I did enjoy the way you can write on the menus with the erasable crayon to mark your decision clearly. We waited quite a long time after ordering for our food and I saw it come by and head straight past us to two tables behind us.. I think there was a new server who was still learning the tables. Once my bf and I saw that our food went to the wrong table and the guests started to pick at it, the manager realized that our food never made it to us. He collected the plates and took it straight back to the kitchen. At this point after waiting so long, I asked my bf if we were done waiting and to just checkout and get our bill. Our server (who we never saw again after placing our order) walked by and we asked to just get our check. He told us our food will be out now and we explained how we saw it go to the wrong table and we were tight on time to wait again. He brought our bill for the food we never received and we told him we were not wanting to eat here because of time and we saw our food go to the wrong place and did not care to wait anymore. He assured us the manager would come by and talk to us. At this point after another few minutes the manager comes out with our food. My bf mentions to him that we no longer wanted to eat here as our food was sent elsewhere. He assure us the food was 're-plated' and everything was fine and that he would take care of it. We thought, well that's sweet for him to take care of it so we ate because at this point we actually were 'hangry'. The greeter swung by and made sure everything was ok. The food was good but I could definitely tell my French fries were old and cold. The greeter then offered us a complimentary bread pudding for being so patient. How sweet of them:) and It was delicious! Then the bill came. We were still charged everything except the free dessert we were offered. We both found this quite peculiar as this was something we didn't order to begin with. I am not a burger person, really, but I did like the Square One Place since it had fancy odd toppings which I would never think of myself. I grew up having your classic burgers. So generally I'm not excited as I don't eat much beef as I just don't crave it. That being said, this place has been on my list to try when I get a beef urge. And that happened to be Thanksgiving weekend. They happened to be slow and I just went to a movie at the Village at random and was having such a relaxing weekend, I thought I'd stop by for a bite. I was glad I did! The place is nice and open and has a nice vibe, I'm sure it's loud when it's packed but it was nice none the less. They have a extensive beer/wine selection...but I noticed some tasty /fancy cocktails being served to others around the bar....One was some type of rosemary smoked whiskey maybe, and then another fused cocktail..which smelled delightful, but I just don't drink that type of things these days. I ordered the Doddzilla medium and sweet potato fries. I had those extra crispy but next time, I'll just order how they prepare them. I added a side of mayo b/c I frankly think every burger needs a slab of mayo, but I didn't even use it. The toppings were so tasty, no adjustment added! Service was great and everyone very friendly. I plan to visit again when I get the craving. I've had a taste here and there of my dining companions burgers around town, while good....just nothing I would write home about. This place is located in the Winter Park Village and has a kind of a hipster vibe. I went last night along with a couple friends, and for the first time I also tried their food. The Hangry Bison serves bison Burgers, among other delicious things. We tried a little bit of everything, and I ended up with a short rib burger on Texas toast called The Trashley. Yummy yummy yummy. Sadly, they do not make the one thing I really had a yearning for... A Juicy Lucy burger... but I'll see what I can do to change that. The weather was nice so we decided to sit outside. To start, our waitress was fantastic. Very friendly, personable and helpful with the menu items. Then, the food. They have a nice selection of appetizers, burgers and sandwiches and a few salads. Plus, you can build your own burger, sandwich or salad. We started with an order of the fried green tomatoes and they were delicious. For the entree, I went with a BYO salad. The rest of the table ordered assorted salads and flatbreads. All really liked the meal. My salad also came with a side. I chose sweet potato fries. Also really good. Went here with two other couples on a Saturday night for the first time. It was busy but we had a reservation so we were seated immediately. We were excited to try some of the specialty cocktails; I ordered the Southern Sidecar and a couple other people got the Smokey Bison, which is basically an Old Fashioned that sits under a glass dome and is infused with smoke from wood chips also under the same glass dome. The smell is amazing, like a campfire, and it infuses the drink delightfully! This is not to miss if you enjoy crafted cocktails, particularly of the bourbon variety. The food was outstanding. I had the salmon burger and friends had the buffalo chicken, the bison burger and another one I'll have to go back to get the exact name of (Dod-something), and they all raved about the food. I was disappointed by my visit here. It's basically just another expensive burger bar. I tried the bison burger with bleu cheese, which I chose over the short rib burger, and did so after a long conversation with the waiter. He informed me that short rib was their name for a regular hamburger. We talked at length about what was a good meat temperature to avoid being dry and hard, and decided to go for medium rare or just short of bloody. When the order arrived it was brown all the way through, hard, and had been salted way too much. Along with the salty bleu cheese it was dangerously close to being inedible. It must be normal there because the fries were worse...one of those "do you want some fries with your salt?" things. I asked my wife to try it to make sure it wasn't just me and she agreed. This place is really cute and delicious. The burgers are customizable. The wings are super good as well. I recommend the Bison burger of course and sweet potato fries. The dessert we got was bread pudding, it was kind of cooked to long. We got it without ice cream, I suggest you should get it with vanilla ice cream. Great burger! Great service! Surprisingly it was not crowded during my lunch break. On my visit I had the Trashley burger which is a shortrib burger with beer cheese, bacon, onion straws on Texas toast. Yep it tastes as delicious as it sounds. The Texas toast and beer cheese where the highlight. I will say that it was a bit difficult to eat. One of my two slices of toast was smaller than the other. So grabbing the burger and eating was a bit difficult without the burger sliding around. Minor hiccup to an otherwise perfect experience. Fine.. the salmon burger ordered in our group.. dry.. the chicken sandwich.. phenomenal .. the doddzilla, is what I ordered plus bacon, medium.. instead I got the doddzilla that not only didn't have the bacon I ordered but didn't even have the ham that COMES WITH IT. Wow! I hosted an event here with over 100 people. Joe the owner was amazing throughout the entire experience. The service was awesome. The bartenders were attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is great for an event or just a dinner with friends. The impossible burger (vegetarian) is served with avocado, pesto and mushroom! Wow this is an amazing burger because it actually has the texture of meat. The pretzel bites with dipping cheese are beyond amazing, super soft!
