This is our 4th visit to this restaurant. All of our visits were excellent; I realized that it's time to share our experience with The Henry's. I ordered their classic hamburger, it was really delicious and it tasted like a wagyu. We ordered different kinds of meals that really savor our taste buds. The drinks we ordered were all great. I ordered a strawberry margarita it is so good and so refreshing. About the ambiance, people were friendly and polite. Our server was so attentive to our needs. This place has excellent staff and customer service, we came as a walk in and the hostess let us know it was about an hour wait but also offered to check bar if we were open to it. She said she had openings since we were okay with sitting there and we got in right away. I must say I also love how they decorated for the holidays, beautiful lights out front and trees decorated inside. We ordered and the food tasted great! I got the braised short ribs with potatoes and mushrooms and I must say the flavor profile was delicious. I also tried a non alcoholic honeydew highball and they have fresh honeydew juice! It was delicious but you must want a juice forward drink. Added: Went again in the morning for breakfast and I was not disappointed!!! They have the best omelette with loads of turkey, cheese and egg white with guacamole on top. I also got the pushing daisies as iced and hot Togo. I must say both are delicious but you might want to ask for extra orange blossom if you want that flavor. The matcha is ceremonial grade organic and they don't over sweeten but it's creamy and delicious! Popular upscale contemporary Californian restaurant prized for roofed and heated outdoor seating along the Orange Ave at the center of downtown Coronado. There was a wait even on a Tuesday, packed with tourists and locals alike. The staff is cheery and friendly, but also extremely busy. While the menu features standard American fare, it also has health conscious dishes and Asian fare like the Korean steak bowl and varieties of pressed sushi. Since it's our first time, we hedged our bet and order two safe "American" dishes: burger and crab cake, and two non-traditional: Korean steak bowl and pressed kanpachi sushi. Unfortunately, it was disappointment on all fronts. The burger with fries (erroneously served as we requested for side salad not fries) and crab cake are so standard and boring that they don't justify their price tag even for the location. The Korean bowl has a beautiful steak cooked perfectly but sat on what I can only describe as airplane fried rice...soggy with bland and overcooked cheap vegetables and eggs that seems to have been cooked separately and just mixed in afterwards. "Sushi", if I can even call it that, was even worse. The vinegar rice is somehow both soggy with too much vinegar and undercooked at the same time...most conveyer belt sushi has better rice than this. I can barely taste the kanpachi because it was covered by too much mediocre garlic chilly oil and mayo. Maybe stay off of Jamie Oliver's Asian recipe and instead learn from Uncle Roger fried rice cooking basics videos. Overall, 5 stars for ambiance, service and location, 2 stars for the food. read more

We went to dinner to celebrate our 32 anniversary. From the initial greeting thru end of dinner, our experience was amazing. The service was truly one of the best experiences I have had in many years. Our waiter (Freddy) was attentive and had great food recommendations. Due to food sensitivities (gluten and dairy), Freddy recommended amazing options that were customized by the chefs that were incredible! My husband had the Korean Skirt Steak that was amazing. My Scottish Salmon fish was well seasoned and so tasty! Freddy provided us with a lovely Molten Butter Cake that was super yummy as a treat to celebrate our special day (gratis). I've been here so many times already. This place is a really solid brunch/lunch spot. Parking is not the best since you have to find street parking in Coronado and it may be quite a walk. Henry oh Henry, where were you all of my life? It took my coworker and I, a nursing conference at the Hotel del Coronado, in order to stumble upon you. After a few recommendations and a personal walk, to which we got to experience the massive lines that overflowed onto the sidewalk, it was worth the wait! For an appetizer, we ordered the spicy tuna and crispy rice. The balance of sweet and spicy, soft and crunchy, was excellent. The hint of the delicate, slightly sweet scallions was the cherry on top. For dinner, we shared the Korean prime skirt steak. It was perfectly seared. The fried rice with snap peas, bok choy, and pickled shiitake really balanced the richness of the steak. It was a well-executed dish. We also got the scallops and gnocchi with asparagus. The scallops were well cooked without being rubbery. The gnocchi were pan fried to perfection. The white sauce base was countered with the zesty vibrance of lemons. It was so delicious, I mopped up every single drop of it. Overall, they have gone a step beyond what I consider standard American flare. The addition of Asian elements was incorporated well into the dishes we received. The servers checked in on us a fair amount, especially for how busy they were with the other patrons. Ambience was pleasant, slightly too dark, and a little on the noisy side. My wife and I had gifted my parents this past Christmas with an experiential gift where our gift was to take them anywhere they wanted to go to eat lunch or dinner, grab dessert, and hang out with us while we serve as their Uber. If you know my parents, which I've been blessed to know for 55+ years, they don't care where we take them out and would have been happy just hanging out at their house. Since my parents aren't picky, we decided to take them to our son and his girlfriend's fave restaurant The Henry. Both of them swear by The Henry, so we chose The Henry because we knew our boy and his suitor would love to join us too. This was my wife and my first time dining here and now I know why The Henry is our son's fave. It's a classy restaurant in a beautiful town, the customer service was good, and the food was amazing. 4.5 Stars!!! The Henry is located on Coronado Island and can be reached either by taking the Coronado Bridge or driving down the Silver Strand making sure that you're on the main drag Orange Avenue. The restaurant is between C Avenue and 10th Street, it is just south of Clayton's Coffee Shop, on the same side as Bay Books and Moo Time ice cream, next to Francaise, and it's across the street from Geppetto's. Parking is mainly street parking, so you might have to park far especially on the weekend. Highly suggest you make reservations because The Henry is a popular restaurant. There is plenty of seating at the restaurant and it can easily accommodate large groups. You can either sit inside or sit outside and people watch. The outdoor round tables are made of marble, there's outdoor umbrella seating, there is high top tables, bar seating, indoor booth seating, and indoor wooden high top tables with leather seats. The decor is modern and old school at the same time with a beautiful painted mural, a wall of framed pics, black and white pics, decorative light fixtures, and an open kitchen that you can peep through a glass partition. The staff is friendly and our server provided good service, but I wished he checked on us more often. Our reservation was at 11:30am, so we were eating during the brunch and lunch hour. The menu included brunch choices, appetizers, salads, and entrees. Since this dining excursion was a Christmas gift for my parents, we wanted to make this special for them. For our appetizers, we ordered the Spicy Tuna & Crispy Rice and the Pretzels & Provolone Fondue. The spicy tuna & crispy rice comes with fresno chile, avocado, cilantro, scallion, and sweet soy. That was really fresh and tasty, but know that it only comes with 5 pieces, so order double for a party of six or more. The pretzels & provolone fondue come with large round balls of pretzels that you dip in the cheesy fondue. I really enjoyed that appetizer because of the hearty round pretzels and when dipped, they were really yummy. The star of my meal was my entree, which was the Wagyu Cheeseburger. It comes with lettuce, tomato, pickle, charred onion, white cheddar, american cheese, henry sauce, and fries. The bread is a toasted bun and when I took my very first bite, I knew I was going to enjoy it. I asked for the burger to be cooked medium and with that first bite, I can tell that The Henry serves quality food, which was evident by that burger and the two appetizers we consumed. The fries were delectable as well and when dipped in the provided house made ranch, my entire entree was delicious. It truly was a blessing to spend quality time with my family. I've been wanting to come for a while now to try their Ahi Tuna. Sadly, it's only available for weekday lunch. Our server was not great. He never checked on us the whole meal, had an obvious fake smile on, was not patient, and had attitude when we asked questions. I started with a very refreshing Watermelon Spritzer that the bar was nice enough to make me since I didn't want any alcohol. It was really pretty and tasty for something they just whipped up on the fly! My guy and I got the Short Rib Potstickers to start and they are an absolute MUST from here on out! Too tasty! Everything about it was fantastic, even the ponzu since it wasn't as sweet as normal ponzus. For my lunch, I got the Seared Tuna Chop salad. I got the vinaigrette on the side since I don't like vinegar. Unfortunately, the salad was really bland and boring without the dressing. I ended up using the ponzu from the potstickers and it saved the whole salad! They should look into switching the dressing on the menu. My guy got the Harvest Bowl and it was soo much better than my salad. All the ingredients were fresh and blended nicely together. This visit was for my bestie's birthday and we had a party of 7. When I arrived at 5:45p our reservation table was not ready yet. The hostesses said that they would have it ready closer to 6p (the reservation time). I walked away to the corner and found a seat at The Francaise outside in one of their comfortable Adirondack patio chairs..as I was not offered a Henry patio seat, nor one at the Henry bar while I waited...rude. About 7 minutes later, one of my besties texted me that the table was ready. I walked back and the hostesses took me to our reservation table. Eventually our party all showed up and we were all seated and ready by 6:15p. Our server was Sterling. He was super customer service oriented and very professional. We ordered: Umami Brussels Sprouts, Pretzel Fondue, and Parmesan Truffle Fries as appetizers for the table. Our dinner entrees were: 4 braised short ribs, 1 Roasted chicken avocado salad, 1 Scottish Salmon, 1 Skirt Steak, and another dish. Everyone enjoyed the food. My Braised Short Rib entree had a large fatty piece and that was unfortunate. I still enjoyed the meal. This has quickly become my new favorite restaurant. The food is outstanding, and the bar atmosphere and overall vibe are second to none. I brought my family here last week while they were visiting, and the entire experience was exceptional from start to finish. The service was top-notch, and both Sasha and Kaitlyn were incredibly professional and attentive. Sasha went above and beyond by personally escorting me to my table after there was some confusion regarding a reservation I had been unable to make the previous day. Her hospitality immediately set the tone for a great evening. Kaitlyn also stopped by our table to check in and make sure everything--from the service to the food--was meeting expectations, which was greatly appreciated. Our server was fantastic as well. Unfortunately, I can't remember his name, but he had red hair and wore glasses. He was friendly, fit, attentive, and helped make the experience even better. Came upon The Henry while taking a stroll through the town, while we were initially going for brunch we arrived around 10:45 and was told by the hostess that they'll seat us closer to 11 as they were doing a lunch switch. We didn't mind that at all- a quick 10 minute stroll and we got the alert our table was ready. And WOW, we arrived just in time because shortly after 11 the seats filled up quickly. The decor itself is eye catching, but the food and service take it to another level. We had the honor of having Sophie as our server, and she was so kind and attentive. I ordered The Dropout iced coffee and we ordered the spicy tuna with crispy rice, short rib pot stickers and bolognese to share. All of which were great for sharing for two people, they even split the bolognese before bringing it to us. My friend suggested this place when he found out we were going to the Hotel Del. He lives in Nashville and told me he was completely stoked that they just opened one in Nashville too! He told me the Bolognese and the short rib potstickers were incredible... So that's what I did .... I don't even like potstickers, but these were incredible!! I am more of a pretzels and fondue type of person. (which we also had) it's amazing to me the amount of flavor they have packed into these little potstickers, really, really good. The bottoms were charred and chewy!!! The pretzels and fondue were also quite tasty. The Bolognese was pretty good, did not change my life like the potstickers. We had a reservation as we watched how crowded the area becomes as the sun goes down in early January. Nice friendly service, well crafted cocktails. I'm remembering that we loved the salad that we split as an app, but my seared tuna chop was meh. Braised short rib, excellent as was the molten butter cake.
