The food was pretty good. However, I did not like the fact that 1 million servers kept coming up to our table. It felt like seagulls at the beach while you're eating a muffin. We kept getting interrupted by a server, tending to us. I understand quick service, but it got to be too much and that really annoyed us. The food was really good though. It's just the incessant visits from various servers while you're trying to have a meal and enjoy your company that really threw us off. The ambience is very nice though.
Came here for the Saturday Girl brunch deal its absolutely a great deal! The atmosphere is beautiful and the food is both filling and delicious. However, the service was a bit mixed. On their website it stated that the $25 Saturday girl brunch deal was available till 4pm so we came at 3:35pm for our 3:30pm reservation. However, the hostess that sat us told us at 3:42 that their kitchen stopped serving this deal at 3:45. We were a confused, disappointed and feeling a bit misled. After some debate my friends and I almost left but they made an exception for us to get the deal which was very kind of them. Our server Bo was also extremely kind and lifted our spirits! He seriously made the brunch more special and enjoyable for everyone. Hopefully they can make the availability of the deal more clear for others cause it can be really frustrating to make the trip to this restaurant just for the information online to be false.Other wise, I enjoyed my experience here and would definitely come back. - valet or street parking - Small and large group seating - Indoor and outdoor seating
Did someone say "GIRL BRUNCH" !? Went here on a Saturday Girl Brunch date and it was a good time! They have a really cute menu for this special occasion. Brunch was $25 each person and included a starter, an entree and a dessert. They also have $10 mimosas with lots of juices to choose from. The staff was so friendly and attentive. They started us off with chips and salsa which was so good! Then we had our first round of mimosas, I got cranberry for my first two rounds and then switched over to an espresso martini with whiskey (and if you haven't tried it YOU MUST!) Not just here but everywhere! For my starter I got the berries and cream which I usually don't do but it was so good I'm glad I went outside of my box. The Chantilly cream and fresh strawberries and blueberries were amazing. For my entree, I ordered the French Toast, I did not realize it was stuffed with some sort of apricot or fruit jam and was not the biggest fan of this. For dessert I went with the churros and was left feeling a bit let down. The churros needed salt to bring out the sweetness, they tasted a bit bland and the sauce that came with did not add to the flavors. Overall because it's such a cute place, the drinks are good and priced decently as well as having a large enough menu where the next visit I feel I could choose something different I would 10/10 go back. We usually come here for happy hour with my coworkers so I'm surprised I haven't reviewed this place yet. The Hideaway is exactly that. A small restaurant located inside this plaza in Beverly Hills that you would never know about unless someone told you. Every time I've been, the waiters, service and management have been so nice and come check on you constantly. There are several sections in the restaurant (I think 3 but I could be wrong), but we've dined in the main room which has a retractable ceiling for when it's too sunny out, they have a bar area that has a small little lounge section in the back of it, and it looks like there may be another section that I haven't been to. The place definitely gives off those Latin vibes and you feel it once you arrive. As for the food, my boss ordered appetizers for the table, which were shrimp tacos, flautas, and empanadas which were all very good! My favorite were the flautas with guac. For my main dish I went with the Chilean sea bass with a side of broccolini and rice. That sea bass was phenomenal! It had a nice sweet glaze on it with a very slit crisp texture on the top. One of the best! The Hideaway goes down as one of my favorite spots in Beverly Hills and I highly recommend checking it out. OOOOO 5 out of 5 Afros
I found this cozy comfortable Mexican restaurant on Rodeo Drive tucked away in the lower level to be an awesome place to visit. The food was delicious and well prepared and drinks were quality liquor. It is a little tight in the bar area so our group was squeezing by each other, but it was fun nonetheless. I like the layout of the restaurant lots of nooks and places to explore. The host and servers were all great. I forgot to feed my parking meter and a friend happened to spot my car and called the restaurant. The host took the time to seek me out. I'll definitely come back to entertain friends and colleagues.
This place is awesome First off the ambiance is like Disneyland (in a good way). It feels like you're in Encanto or Coco. Very cool. The service and staff is top notch as you would expect in this part of town. The food is absolutely incredible the steak was cooked perfectly, the appetizer are delightful and plentiful. The Food, Service & Ambiance 100% AMAZING!!! I celebrated my birthday here and it was truly the best celebration! The New York Wagyu steak was cooked to perfection and literally melted in my mouth! The queso dip was the best I've ever had and honestly I could have just ordered that and been perfectly satisfied. The drinks, chips and salsa were on point -- everything was delicious! A must go to restaurant!!!
The Hideaway is true to its name being tucked away in the Rodeo Collection. The center courtyard can seat quite a few people, but it's the private cabanas that draw people to the restaurant. Light and airy it makes you feel as if you're in Mexico. Eduardo and Juan were our servers and were charming and ever attentive. They took time to explain the menu selections and the differences between items that seemed similar. It's a warm, friendly atmosphere and we felt comfortable enough to ask the lovely ladies in the next cabana what they had ordered. The Lobster Avocados Salad. We also ordered sandwich de pollo, 3 types of empanadas and a shrimp appetizer. It was our Eleanor's 86th. birthday celebration and as a surprise they sent out the most delicious churros with whipped cream and chocolate dipping sauce. We arrived at 11:30 and left at 4:30z. At no time did they make us feel uncomfortable. Gracious and friendly as if we were in MEXICO. One tip. If parking in structure be sure to have your ticket validated. Only $15.00!!!
I've always wanted to come here, so my brother brought me for my birthday and it exceeded every expectation. Located right on Rodeo in Beverly Hills, this place delivers such a beautiful, upscale experience from the moment you walk in. The ambiance is stunning, the energy is lively, and you can tell it is a go to spot. Yes, parking is valet, which is not ideal, but once you are inside, everything else completely makes up for it. The service is truly top tier. The team is attentive, welcoming, and makes you feel taken care of the entire time. I had the chance to meet Kyle, the manager, who was amazing, and Taylor at the front was just as kind and accommodating. They really elevated the whole experience. Since it was my birthday, they went out of their way to make it special with champagne and ice cream, which I loved. Now the food and drinks were so good. I had the Donkey tequila drink, which is basically a margarita served inside a little donkey, such a fun and unique touch, and it tasted amazing. I also ordered an appetizer that was on the smaller side, but it was still really good and honestly did not take away from the experience because the meal itself was perfectly sized. We got the tomahawk steak with chimichurri, and it was incredible, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. One of my favorite parts of the experience was the table side service. They prepared part of the meal right in front of us, which made everything feel more interactive, elevated, and exciting, especially for a first visit and for a birthday. Overall, everything from the aesthetics to the service to the food was on point. This is one of those places that feels like an experience, not just dinner. I will absolutely be coming back!!!
This restaurant has an old-world charm - a mixture of boho Mexican with a Hollywood flare. I can see why it's called the hideaway because the inside does feel quite hidden with many rooms that are dim and rustic. Food was very tasty. We ordered the trio sampler and beef empanadas for starters. The sampler of tuna tartare fried taco, fish ceviche, and shrimp fried taco was so delicious. Beef empanadas were pretty good. For entrees, we had branzino and prime New York steak with chimichurri sauce. The steak was tender, cooked perfectly and very flavorful. And the branzino was also moist and delicious. Cocktail drinks were decent. Service was just decent. They were very busy, and our waitress was nice but quite rushy when taking orders. As much as the food was good overall, I do feel that the price point is too expensive. For example, the trio sampler portion was pretty small yet it costs $38. I know that it's intended to be a Mexican steakhouse, but to pay that high of price for upscale Mexican food really doesn't make sense when there are very good high-end Mexican restaurants elsewhere for cheaper.
Ambiance is the highlight here- it's very cozy vibes. They also have a happy hour that I need to try out. Food was pretty good and the wine was on point. I haven't tried their cocktails. Service was ok, they're all nice and do their jobs.
I had a business open table reception here. Here are my thoughts on this quaint "hideaway": Food: A. Super fresh, delicious and nutritious options with a wide variety. There were many fish options which is ideal with an exquisite wagyu beef taquito. Service: A+ The servers were attentive and quick to fetch whatever I asked for. There was always one of them present. One even brought me a glass of sparkling water to sip on for my drive home per my request. Ambiance: A+ Excellent decor in this hidden restaurant away from the street traffic of Rodeo Drive for your private non-paparazzi dining. You may not have people-watching views of the street but there's plenty of interesting viewing within the restaurant. Dietitian Dorothy's tips - Nutrition 4 Men: indulge in the fish for high protein low fat options. Nutrition 4 Ladies: skip the chips. Use the salsas and hot sauce to flavor your dish instead.
The Hideaway is by far the most beautiful restaurant I have ever been to. From the bright colors to the unique decor and greenery, I was in awe. The waitress sat my friend and I next to the fireplace. She pointed to the purse hooks next to our table for our purses. I thought that was pretty cool as I don't like to eat with my purse on the table. We took time to look around the restaurant and wow it's pretty spacious inside. It was also full of people so I took that as good sign that the food would be delicious. The waitress brought us complimentary chips and salsa. We ordered the pink margaritas while we decided on food. The pink margaritas were so tasty. For lunch I ordered the short rib enchiladas and my friend ordered the baja fish tacos. Our meals both came with black beans and rice. My enchiladas were so good. I had never had enchiladas with short ribs, and the meat was juicy and flavorful. My friend was not a huge fan of the baja fish tacos. She thought they would've tasted a little better if they were fried hard in a batter. Otherwise, we like everything else and the staff were very attentive. Parking also wasn't too bad. We found parking in the garage directly under the restaurant. It is valet parking so you do have to pay. It was worth it and if you are someone who likes to shop there is so many stores to walk to. I would also suggest making a reservation ahead of time. Had an incredible experience at The Hideaway. Every single dish was outstanding, bold, fresh flavors that felt creative without being overwhelming. You can tell real thought and intention goes into the menu. The wait staff was just as impressive as the food. Attentive, warm, and always a step ahead, they made sure we were completely taken care of the entire night without ever feeling intrusive. The ambiance is absolutely beautiful tucked right in the heart of Beverly Hills, it somehow manages to feel both vibrant and intimate at the same time. This certainly has an appropriate name because I never knew this restaurant existed. We were shopping in the area and were craving Mexican, so after seeing this was nearby & described as a "Mexican steakhouse"..we were intrigued. The spot itself is really cool inside. The somewhat "outdoor" area with the fireplace in the middle has beautiful ambience at night. We found all the staff we encountered to be friendly and helpful as well. The food was surprisingly good and I really dig the concept of you pick a protein and it's served with tortillas to make your own more high-end tacos. The wagyu flautas & octopus w/forbidden rice were standout appetizers I would definitely recommend. We also loved the Australian wagyu ribeye entree (I wanted to keep this for myself). The only thing we didn't love was the gambas (shrimp) entree we ordered, it was bland & we had wished we gotten a different seafood option. Will certainly return when we are in the area. read more

Service, ambience and overall aesthetics are the major win here. Food wise it's a bit disappointing, guacamole is pricey and literally is only enough for like 5 chips. Flavors were good on my meal but the serving size was Michelin portions which I guess fits the Beverly Hills vibe. That being said, if you're celebrating a milestone and want some trendy photos and great service I would definitely recommend this place. read more

The Hideaway! What a perfect name for this restaurant in the middle of Beverly Hills. We booked our end of year company luncheon here and it was perfect. I ordered from the lunch menu; mini flautas, chilaquiles with chicken and the churros. Also had a frozen strawberry margarita. I had trouble finishing my food and took most of it home. The flautas were crunchy on the outside and so moist on the inside. The sauce they served it with was flavorful. The chicken was grilled perfectly. Hubby ordered the Australian wagyu ribeye with a side of Mac and cheese. He said it's the best steak he's ever had. Service was quick and friendly and the place had Mexican villa vibes. Very cozy and inviting. If you drive park using the valet then get your ticket validated by them. It's $15 for the day. read more

Dined here for my sister's birthday for Brunch. The restaurant itself is gorgeous! It's location is literally hidden in Beverly Hills. To find it, it's within a small plaza on Rodeo Dr. I ordered the Crab Benedict. It was okay - the crab meat itself was great however the biscuit was over cooked and hard to chew. We also ordered a salad which was delicious! The service was alright - they forgot my latte order but I didn't make a fuss about it. They were very attentive throughout the service. The Hideaway has a beautiful dining area, the soft Mexican style of food and decor is very welcoming. I enjoyed Father's Day weekend here and the food was 4/5 but there were some very solid things to enjoy about the overall experience. Let's dive in. To start we ordered the table side Caesar which was definitely an experience, thank you Carlos for the show! We got to see the different elements come together to make a Caesar. Solid 5/5 Ceviche de Camaron was beautifully plated and very refreshing. First bite takes you to a white sanded beach. 5/5 Guacamole was pretty standard, can't really go wrong with guac, maybe some more elements in the guac would have taken it to the next level but it was still enjoyed at the table. 4/5 Wagyu beef flautas were delicious! Perfectly crusted on the outside and full of flavor. 5/5 I enjoyed the lamb chops which were chefs kiss for sure, cooked medium to my liking but rather small to be a $65 entree. This was served on top of a bed of what I later learned was peach mole, I hate mole but this was very very good. I paired the Ginger Me Please zero proof mocktail which was a little too sweet but still tasty. 5/5 For the table there was the Pescado Zarandeado which was very large, big enough to share. Honestly, this was lacking flavor. 3/5 In addition we enjoyed the Branzino Fritto, this came with a cilantro aioli which saved the dish as I feel it was just like a fancy battered breaded fish. 3/5 My baby brother enjoyed the Chicken dish on the menu which was quite literally just the breast...Nothing else on the dish but some aioli. I don't know what else I was expecting but not just a plain breast for $36. He enjoyed it but he's also a very carnivorous boy so he's pleased with any slab of meat. 2/5 Empanadas aren't really worth mentioning. It's a skip for me! Enjoyed a strong Cadillac margarita and a spicy margarita. There was a funny push for tequila button near our table and we couldn't resist pushing, it did take a little over 7 min for someone to notice but the drinks made up for that. All in all I think the service could've been a little better but I understand it was a holiday and I will meet the server halfway. Final note. I absolutely loathe the idea of taking payments at a restaurant at the table with a handheld decide, that's just my personal preference. I feel actually signing and writing out total and gratuity is a full circle moment that needs to be done especially at the end of a dinner that was just under $500. read more

The good: I tried their margarita flight, iced coffee, strawberry mint popsicle cocktail, chicken empanada appetizer, complimentary tortilla chips with salsa and black bean dip, and BLTA hideaway salad. The empanadas were the best I've ever had. Usually empanadas are dry and uninteresting but this chicken empanada had unique and delicate flavors and was paired nicely with a sweet baanan ketchup with peppers and a great salad slaw. The tomatoes in the salad were sweet and fresh. The bacon in the salad was crunchy and Smokey pork belly cubes. The pomegranate added a nice crunch and pop of acid. The chips had the perfect amount of salt. The black bean dip was light and sweet. The crunchy small ice cubes in the iced coffee were nice. The ambience is spectacular. We sat in the courtyard space which has ample skylight but also has a motorized shade option. The purse hanging stand was cute and was something I've never seen before. The waiters were attentive and knowledgeable. The menu offered so many delicious options. The fire in the courtyard space was lit. The candles in the scones weren't but look like they do get used with real fire. The waiters have cute denim and bolo tie uniforms (some turquoise). The bathroom has unique vintage sinks where the water comes out of a ceramic spout rather than a metal one. There are small semi indoor and outdoor sitting areas segregated by light curtains that are very cute. The entrance is discrete with a pink "cafe" sign out on rodeo and an entryway that is small but detailed. The margarita flight for $28 was nicely balanced and were a good size. The bad: The wait for the entree was longer than expected. The entree portion was smaller than I expected but with the chips and appetizer I was full. The waiter forgot to bring my friend's sugar and gave her oat milk rather than skim milk she requested. The popsicle in the cocktail melted immediately because the entire thing was submerged in the cocktail rather than partly exposed which might've been cuter. One of the margarita drinks was missing a straw. None of them needed it but two of them had it. The interesting: I had no trouble finding parking in a nearby garage but it does get very busy on the weekends so car traffic might get tricky. I parked at the BHS1 parking lot across from Heytea and it was $6 for 4 hours. Lots of other nearby lots are free for the first two hours. This place is located behind other shopping stores and is downstairs and tucked away. read more

If heaven had a happy hour, it would look a lot like Hideaway Beverly Hills. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with charm, sass, and just the right amount of tequila. Lawuan is the undisputed king of cool--somehow juggling cocktails, compliments, and charisma like it's no big deal. Cory at the back bar? Electric. If good vibes had a bartender, it'd be him. Manager Charles runs the show like a smooth operator--cool, calm, and low-key the reason everything feels like a five-star experience even when you're two margaritas deep. Nick is the wise, seasoned legend behind the bar, always ready with a pour and a pun. And John? A classic--steady hands, great drinks, even better energy. And then there's Steve. Sweet as pie, effortlessly kind, and just one of those people who makes the whole room better. If servers were gemstones, Steve would be a rare diamond. Yes, the food is fire. Yes, the ambiance is a Beverly Hills dream. But it's the staff--the soul of the place--that keeps you coming back. Hideaway isn't just a spot. It's a whole mood. 11/10. I really love this place. It is super authentic. And the architecture is amazing. With the flooring and the tables and all their little aesthetics. The food is absolutely amazing and you can tell everything is homemade from the empanadas to the tortillas. I really appreciate the sodas and the bottles of the offer here and they also have a lot of great music that they play. It's pretty loud when you sit outside, but other than that, everyone is super friendly and this is truly such a unique place. The chicken empanadas were so delicious but it comes with this surprised me. I was expecting more spicy tacos actually cook perfectly and I enjoyed the flavor so much. It is a very big portion. I highly recommend doing the uno, dos, and tres selection during lunch hour because it is such a great deal and the plates are huge read more

I had the mango margarita and it was refreshing and delicious!! I I also had the lunch fixed menu . For starters, we had the ceviche , followed by the short rib enchiladas then lastly, the pink Champagne sorbet. I'm from Mexico City and I really appreciated the twist to all the traditional dishes, everything was delicious! Compliments to the Chef! Service was very attentive and exceptional. We were greeted by Charles the manager and he was very welcoming had a great conversation ! Jairus was our server and he was friendly and checked on us promptly, super vibrant energy! Came here for brunch on a Sunday. Beautiful atmosphere and ambiance with thoughtful attention to detail throughout, from the table settings to the overall space. Jairus truly made the experience awesome with attentive, warm, and seamless service. Brunch felt relaxed yet elevated, and the margaritas and food were delicious. The hideaway is literally a hidden gem inside a plaza on rodeo drive. Once inside it is beautifully decorated and a fantastic spot to enjoy the night. The food was fantastic... the only issue is too many great choices. I forgot to take pictures of many of the dishes because we ate too quickly. Guacamole and tuna tartare were excellent. Wagyu steak was cooked to perfection. The cocktails were fabulous. Service was good but it felt like they were at times overwhelmed. Partly due to the restaurant being packed. Dinner lasted a long time so don't come in with the expectation to grab a quick meal. The best part is enjoying the ambiance and great food. They have a valet option or you can park at the near by structure. The restaurant is on the pricey side so all the goodness adds up quick. Highly recommend if you are in the area. read more

The Hideaway in Beverly Hills on Rodeo drive is a beautiful spot to come. They started us off with complimentary chips and salsa. We ordered some chilaquilles. Handmade tortilla chips, chile de arbol creamy sauce, chino farm sunnyside up egg, cilantro, pickle onions, smoke cotija. I highly recommend them. We also ordered the A5 Wagyu steak, and it was absolutely delicious--perfectly tender and full of flavor. Our drinks were beautifully presented, got a their kiwi margaritas. -For dessert, we ended with the their famous creamy chocolate cake which was indulgent. The service was impeccable--our server was incredibly attentive and made the experience even more enjoyable. Look forward to coming back and trying some of their yummy Mexican inspired dishes. Wow! Ended up in BH because I attended an art gallery opening. Looked for someplace to eat that wouldn't make me have to take out a loan lol. Found this place. The menu was good and I was hungry. I ordered the 6 oz filet mignon. It was absolutely fantastic. So tender and incredibly good. The service was amazing, always right there when I needed them. This review is for the Margarita Class only. Luron (sp?) was our bartender for a fun and lively cocktail class! The three of us came to celebrate our friend's birthday and were excited to shake things up. For $45, the experience included two tacos, chips and salsa, a handcrafted margarita, and even a keepsake shot glass. The class was both fun and enlightening, we actually picked up a few new mixing and shaking tips. The tacos were outstanding; we tried the seabass and the A5 Japanese wagyu, and both were absolutely delicious. The salsa had a bit too much heat for me, but you can request the bean dip instead for your chips, which is a nice option. We also added the wasabi infused guacamole which was excellent, but I don't recommend the flan since it was more like a dense pudding. We had such a great time, left with big smiles, and honestly forgot all about the souvenir shot glasses until we got home. Can't wait to return and try the full menu, this is definitely a spot worth sharing with friends. read more

July 2024 | Beverly Hills: The Hideaway is a gorgeous restaurant with delicious food & excellent customer service! Loved the outdoor patio seating, so pretty! Dine LA Menu: Delicious! The Fish Tacos were amazing & flavorful with the mango slaw, yum!! The Rice was particularly delicious mixed in with cilantro! The Churros were good w/the chocolate & strawberry sauce(my favorite!) Extra/Shared: The Corn Empanadas were absolutely delicious dipped into the Banana Ketchup, yum!!! I don't normally like Flan at all, but absolutely LOVED it here!! Loved that there was a handbag holder beside us!! Customer Service: The girls at check-in were friendly & quite welcoming! Our server Mitchell was so sweet, attentive & all-around awesome! Note: It was a very hot day, and we were naturally thirsty! When given the water option, we said no to sparkly, and yes to water in general! came here after shopping around and this place did not disappoint! my boyfriend and i had such a great time -- the service was amazing. we sat at the bar and only got drinks while waiting for our dinner reservation, but we'll definitely be back to try the food next time. the bartenders were super knowledgeable and made great recommendations that matched exactly what we liked. the vibe here was also really nice -- loved the look of the place with both bar and patio seating. honestly didn't even mind sitting at the bar because the staff were so friendly and fun to talk to. not often do we walk into a random spot and end up blown away like this one! read more
Great little spot on rodeo drive. Cute atmosphere and good food for the price. Got the three course special for 32 which includes stater that comes with an entree of your choice. As well as a dessert at the end. Service was attentive and food was brought out in a reasonable time. The whole meal took about 2 hours and couldn't finish all the food I was so full! Great spot for a date highly recommend checking out this spot when you are on rodeo looking for a bite to eat! read more

Hideaway is one of my go-to dinner spots! I've sat in a few different areas and every spot has its own great vibe -- whether it's inside, out on the covered patio, or by the fire (my personal favorite). I love the Latin vibe and the food -- everything I've tried has been amazing. The bar looks super cool and adds to the whole atmosphere of the place. Last I heard, this place was owned by Evan Ross, I forgot to ask if it's still true. Reservations were super easy. They actually answer the phone unlike most Beverly Hills restaurants. Overall we had a great time and the food was good. Facility - 5/5. So cute! Bathroom was clean. We loved our table which was sort of in a nook. Food: 4/5 3/5 - Wagyu beef flautas. They were good but l hardly tasted any wagyu in them and it didn't taste grilled like the regular wagyu steak. Wouldn't get these again. 5/5 - table-side Caesar salad. It was cool watching it being prepared. 4/5 - Chili Relleno (daughter wanted a side of protein but they would only allow her to order a whole other entree and not a side! 5/5 - Australian wagyu ribeye - very grilled and flavorful. Son loved it. 4/5 - Chilean Seabass 4/5 - 3 cheese chorizo Mac n cheese There are a lot of other tasty sounding items to try on the menu so we plan to come back! We chose The Hideaway on Rodeo Drive after seeing lots of great reviews on Google and from food bloggers on Instagram. It has a Mexican/Baja-inspired theme, but overall felt like it was designed more for tourists than delivering anything authentic. When we arrived, they were still preparing our table. I asked to be seated under the canopy, and about 10 minutes later, we were shown to our spot. Our server, Brent, was honestly the best part of the evening--friendly, attentive, and professional. To start, we ordered the "One Night in Tulum" cocktails ($21 each), a mezcal-based drink served in ceramic donkey mugs. At price point of this restaurant, it came off as gimmicky. The drink itself was so-so. We also ordered Ceviche de Camarón ($25)--bland, under-seasoned, and lacking both acidity. We asked for lime and salt so it would at least be palatable. For mains, we had the Pan Roasted Scallops ($52), the 8 oz Filet Mignon ($62), and Esquites ($15). The scallops were slightly overcooked, and the habanero cream sauce was bland. The jicama slaw on the side was the best part of the dish. The filet came out medium and already sliced, even though we asked for it medium rare and intact. We sent it back, and it returned sliced again--medium rare this time--but it had an odd texture and lacked seasoning. We left most of it uneaten. Brent did his best to make it right, offering complimentary sparkling water and two cocktails. But when the bill came to $250, it still didn't sit right. I expressed my disappointment, and Brent brought over the manager, who was generous enough to comp $150 off the bill and offered us two cocktails at the bar. That was appreciated. The bar itself has an okay vibe--not bad, but nothing special. The Whiskey Sours we had there were actually excellent, which made the food even more of a letdown. After leaving the restaurant, we went to a local bar, but they're were about to close. We overheard the bartender recommending this other spot "El Carmen" to a patron and said they were open until 2 am. We said what the heck let's go! It really turned the night around. It's a Mexican themed "dive" bar. We enjoyed Whiskey Sours, grilled fish, and asada street tacos that were absolute flavor bombs. And at $7 for 2, we ordered three rounds. THAT was the kind of quality and flavor we were hoping for. We will be staying far away from The Hideaway. read more
