My boyfriend always wanted to come here so we did. The service was ok. The cheese plate was decent but not like I had ever seen before. The rest of our food was lackluster. Staff is attentive, super-nice super pro all the time, and most of them actually have some personality. We love coming here, usually always something going on, great atmosphere, good music on. The food is great - we recommend the hummus, the tomato soup, which comes with an actual bona-fide straight up GRILLED CHEESE SANDWICH right outta 1958, just absolutely perfect. I've been to the Holy Grail 3 times in a week! Absolutely LOVE this place!!! The food is REALLY good! Order the fried goat cheese and the schnitzel...10/10. The staff is very friendly. I went today(third time) and our bartender was amazing! He was moving! Loved that bartender! Prices are extremely reasonable. The ambiance gives me " elevated dungeons and dragons" vibes haha. We went to eat at the Holy Grail, as one of our friends highly recommended this restaurant We ordered a half ordered their "Gravy" fries as an appetizer and though unusual it was good. We picked at that as we awaited or main course. I ordered their "pub battered" fish and chips and my wife ordered their steak and frites (french fries with aioli). My fish was over cooked (but I took the second half home and heated it then removed the batter). It was much better. The steak was nicely prepared and very good with an additional order of green beans that did not come as a part of the entree. (Should be considered) Our waiter was Daniel. He was very good and did a wonderful job. The "pub" was dark (made me wonder about the overall cleanliness but in line with a "cellar" pub theme from Europe. Some very 'different' menu selections. I thought about ordering the "bangers" but not sure they could carry that off and didn't want to ruin my memory of them. I will say they do have a large selection of beer. And they do a great job in that area. If I would return, it would be for the beer selection only. read more

This individual seems a bit slow in in every aspect to me as far as cuisine customer, correspondence, well as communicating as well. I am in the service industry and would NEVER treat a client nor ignore based on him in slow motion working, assumption as well as appearance. The Holy Grail Pub is located in the same plaza as Gyu- Kaku with plenty of parking in the lot in the back. I came here with my husband and our little girl dog (outdoor seating available, both covered and uncovered) to meet with my husband's friend and his wife. We came at 5:30 pm and seated ourselves outside in the covered seating (which was nice that it had the heat lamps on because it was on the cold side). Because my husband's friend was running late, we didn't order until closer to 6 pm. We ended up ordering: Soft Pretzel, $9 prior to tax- This order came with 3 soft braided pretzel sticks with a side of cheese sauce. I really like soft pretzels and thought this was good but I think I would have preferred it to be much warmer or hot. Frozen Hard Apple Cider, $5 happy hour price ($7 when it's not)- Oh wow this frozen hard apple cider was fantastic. It was served in a cinnamon rimmed glass, which was perfect with that frozen cider. I would love to drink this again. Smokey Meatloaf, $16 prior to tax- My husband ordered this, which came with mashed potatoes and a side of green beans. I had a few bites of his food and thought the meatloaf was perfectly seasoned and tasted good. I also liked the mashed potatoes and green beans. I would probably order this for myself if I was to come here again. Arcadia Salad, $10 + Chicken, $4 prior to tax- I had requested for my salad dressing to be on the side but wished I had known this salad came with cheese because I would have asked to omit the cheese because there was a lot of it. I opted for a salad because I wanted to get some fiber at my meal. I thought this salad was a great size for a meal and thought there was more than enough chicken. ------------------------------------ (Total= $43.30 after tax, prior to tip) Food was great and service was friendly and very attentive. We were a party of five for lunch on a Sunday. Three of us came from out of state for the weekend. I had researched places for our family to have lunch at and were impressed with the selections but we were left disappointed. I am a beer stout drinker and they were out of two of the three beers tried to order. We were told they tap new beers on Tuesdays. They should tap on Thursday so they would still have the choices available for the weekends which are typically a busier time. Very disappointing. Then we tried to order the charcuterie cheese board and they were out or most of the items for that also. We ordered two appetizers and they didn't get ordered until after we got our entree's. Over all very disappointing experience. I used to run restaurants and when you are out of a lot of items still during the weekend that just bad management in my opinion. More like a 3.5 rating? While the menu is a heavy hit or miss, if you order the right items, this is a fairly enjoyable night. If you live in North Plano and just a beer, this is a no brainer. This place gets packed, even on the weekdays! The parking lot can be hectic, so keep that in mind. All their tables, booths, high tops, and most of the bar was completely full. Luckily we could sit outside on the outdoor patio, where the tables are huge and fairly tall. They have a ton of beer and Irish whiskey options. I wish they did half pours or flights though. Our server checked on us fairly frequently, even though we were the only big group on the outside patio on a weekday February night. They have space heaters built into the ceiling, which helped, even though the wind can blow through the exposed sides. The fried pickles are pretty good. Great ratio of breading and pickle, salty, oily, sour, and refreshing. If you like fried pickles, they do a great job making them here. The pretzel sticks are huge! As one person, I wish I could have shared it with others (but they weren't interested). The beer cheese was kind of weird tasting, but it did have a good texture. The pretzel itself was fairly soft and had plenty of malty, salty flavor. The Sheppard's pie is not traditional, and it comes off more as a super cheesy, loose casserole than a pie. While I don't hate it, I wouldn't order it again because it doesn't satisfy any itch that a normal Sheppard's pie would. There's no buttery pie crust, no dense gooeyness, and the vegetables taste bland. while I was reluctant at first, the tenderloin bits were actually quite good. Tender, juicy, with a little spring in the texture that was pleasant. I'm certain they are using the same cheese here as they use in the Mac and cheese. I personally feel this addition of cheese distracts in this dish, but the chef seems to like it enough to serve it over a The honey pepper chicken sandwich is actually pretty good. I discussed with the waitress how crispy the breading would be. She said she could tell the line cooks to make it extra crispy and then separate the sauce. Even with doing all of this, the breading wasn't super crispy, but the crispiness was enjoyable. The pepper sauce is pretty tasty! I doused every bite I took with it. The overall sandwich was pretty refreshing with all the fresh veggies they use. The birria is not bad, but its not what I would expect. It has this unusual seasoning or flavor that I cant put my finger on. The consommé they give you is mostly shredded meat and not much liquid. Usually it's the opposite problem. The mac and cheese is quite cheesy! Its more of a solid cheese than a liquidy cheese. At some points it felt like a cut up mozzarella stick with how solid and stringy the consistency was. Some people may not like it, but I thought it was quite effective. It also had a huge cheese flavor that lots of other places lack. Even as a side, they serve you a ginormous portion. Its awesome that they let you order this instead of fries with any entrée. The fish and chips are OK, but they leave more to be desired. The crispiness of the batter is lacking. The fish had a wisp of flavor, but I don't expect cod to be fragrant to begin with. The oily flavor of the breading and the soft consistent texture of the cod is probably the best part of this meal in my opinion. We came in craving a really good burger and that was exactly what we got. My boyfriend and I each ordered their Holy Grail burger and it was incredibly simple but oh so delicious. The fries were perfectly crispy and covered half of the plate. I love how they have a burger of the month. This month is chicken fried steak burger with gravy and crispy onion bits? Come on! They have great food and even have awesome snacks for those who aren't so hungry to put something in their bellies when having a drink or 3. The atmosphere is very relaxed and they have Trivia and other events from time to time. The bartenders always have a warm, friendly demeanor and make you feel like more than just another customer. They've been there for over a decade and have many regular customers. They also have a couple outdoor areas, one smoking and one non-smoking. This has been a favorite destination for me and several work friends for the last year or so. We absolutely LOVE our regular server, Elaina. I kid you not, she WALKS ON WATER. Best service I have ever had and it's every single time we are here. The food is pretty damn good and they have a great selection of bourbon (even Eagle Rare, one of my favorites). This was a business lunch so I didn't take any photos. My partner ordered a burger with no bun or onions and added avocado. She asked that it be cooked with just a little bit of pink. I ordered the fish and chips only because I'm a huge fish and chips fan, growing up overseas, and also having a British husband. Lol. Service was prompt and the server checked up on us several times. I really liked the inside of this pub, kind of reminded me of the old monk. My lunch partner and I used to go often to Delaney's when she worked in McKinney. I just thought the food was meh. Her burger was undercooked, but she skirted the outside edge and just left theextreme middle. The fries were decent, but nothing special. Now let's talk about the fish. They use a really thicker batter on their fish in my case, there seem to be more better than Fish. I would cut pieces off and there was nothing inside. What a nice little gem. Stopped by here with one of my close friends for a hangout. Atmosphere - 4/5 - Not very brightly lit, and feels a little divey. However, I enjoy this type of vibe. Food - 4/5 - Didn't order too much as I came here to drink a couple, but ordered the following: - Gravy Fries - 4.5/5 - LARGE portion. Lots of gravy.
