Which turned out to literally taste like a frozen chocolate, and hit the spot! 2nd time around I tried a granita with mocha which was like the adult version of the frozen chocolate and I loved that even more. Same friendly girl working there saw my dog on the passenger side and offered a pup pup and boy was my dog excited that he went on this ride with me. One little taste and he approved. The Human Bean delivers an unique experience that you must try at least once. I did take two stars off because I feel as though the past two times I've been, my drink was a bit too bitter and watery which led me to not finish them. It's a shame because when I went more often during the summer, my drinks were always delightful. I was always looking for an excuse to be back! Lately, I just haven't enjoyed my drinks as much. I'm not sure why...it feels as though the quality has dropped a bit. But because Human Bean delivers such a comforting feel, I will be trying another visit in the future. What happened? I used to take the extra 15 minutes to drive here for coffee. But this time everything was super watery and flavorless. I got an iced vanilla latte, classic, hard to mess up, and my drink tasted like a water down coffee with too much milk and no vanilla whatsoever. I also ordered a hot americano for my husband. Great, friendly staff. Great service. This coffee spot is more unique than lo the other coffee spots around and it seems to be more affordable. The coffee is on the stronger side which is great but it doesn't tastes as sweet as a sugary Starbucks drink so if you prefer your coffee really sweet I'd ask the worker. Me and my wife loved this little coffee shop. We drove by it a few times before deciding to stop by after seeing how busy it stays. They even give you a little chocolate coffee bean with every drink :) Only reason it's 4 instead of 5 stars is cause I feel the drink flavoring can be inconsistent from time to time. I've been looking for new coffee places to try near me, and this one had good reviews so I had to try it. The baristas were SO nice and welcoming, I told her I couldn't pick between the mocha or salted caramel latte and she offered a salted caramel mocha, which tasted really good! I also got a peach smoothie, and both drinks are the perfect sweetness level. I don't like things that are overly sweet, but I also don't like coffee unless it has some sweetener, so if you're like me then it's great! Love this place! We moved to the neighborhood a couple of months ago and I pass this place pretty much everyday. Been meaning to stop by, but they have a line pretty regularly and I'm not that big of a coffee person. Well, it's a cold rainy day today and my stepdaughter asked me if I could pick up Starbucks on the way home from the store. I said sure and made a beeline to Human Bean. We have a bad feeling after our visit this morning... My family and I are regulars here. We love the peppy attitudes of the employees and the great drinks. They're sweet to our 5 year old son who always wants to chat and has special requests. This morning, none of the usual staff was there. We ordered an iced coffee, a hot coffee with extra cream, and a little beans (the name of their kids menu drinks) steamed milk. The employee wasn't sure what we meant by "little beans", the iced coffee didn't have ice, and the hot coffee had no cream. When we went back through the drive thru to request a cup of cream, the employee extended his hand and said he'd take the hot coffee back into the shop to add the cream -- a big no-no if you know health code. We are really hoping the usual Human Bean team took a vacation together this weekend and that everything will be back to usual next week! read more

This one star isn't for the quality of drinks. They have really yummy drinks and it unfortunate that I am no longer buying from this place. I just can't help to think that there's usually 1-2 people inside making my drink and I can't see what they are doing. Times are really strange and you never know if someone can be spitting in your drink or what. It happens more often than people want to realize. The last few time I've been here, something was off and my intuition told me not to drink my coffee. I'm NOT making any accusations, but With everything going on, I don't put it past anyone. We tried this place for the first time two weeks ago. I ordered a decaf coffee with pumpkin spice and it was lukewarm at best. My son ordered a blueberry bagel with cream cheese. He commented it tasted funky. Within 2 hours after eating the bagel he was throwing up that bagel. After he threw up he felt better so I know it was food poisoning and not a stomach bug. read more

This is the only human bean I have ever seen in California - they are EVERYWHERE in Oregon.. now if only I could find a Dutch Bros too. That being said, the coffee at this location tastes ever so slightly different than it does in Oregon, not worse or bad, just different. Anyways, we have had generally good experiences here so I will write this one off but today we went and our total was $7.80 - we paid with a $20 and received $10.20 in change. My husband and I looked at each other confused- we planned to tip them the $2 but I did think it was interesting they didn't offer correct change. Could have been an innocent mistake and hopefully if the drawer is off they will put the change in the tip jar. We were on a quick break so we decided just to let it go. After I bought the coffee & sweets, I parked the car by an outside light to take photos of my food. I had a large Blueberry Muffin Top with coffee. Thanks to my Yelp bud, Timmy S for alerting me to this place with his review. I had heen driving past it on El Toro without ever realizing it was there. This tiny, drive-thru coffee hut is easy to miss even in broad daylight. I really like the fact that they open at 5 a.m. on work days for us early birds who get to work early. There is a broad selection of hot and cold coffee drinks here as well as smoothies and other cold beverages. I like the fact that you can substitute dairy alternatives for regular milk on any of their drinks here, also. I really enjoyed the hot Irish Breve and Mexi Mocha which are two of the specialty coffee drinks on their menu. I love how they put a chocolate-covered espresso bean on your drink, too. Sugar plus espresso is always helpful when I am still waking up. They also have some food items available. They carry. Bebop Biscotti, which I am a fan of, for their many great flavors. What has really stood out to me when I visited the Human Bean, tough, is the service here is fantastic. The girls who work here are friendly, patient, and helpful, especially when it's your first time here and a little unsure of what to order off the menu. It is unfortunate this is a place that everyone misses as they fly down El Toro (because let's face it, nobody "cruises" down El Toro). It doesn't help that is located in an abandoned strip mall where literally, everything else is closed. It is also a small drive-thru shop only, so it really is easy to miss. The plus side of being unknown though, is that there is rarely a line, but when there is a line, it can kind sometime be a wait because there is only one window to take care of everything (Make, pay for, and receive your order). I did notice that on occasion the do make an effort to send someone out to take your order before you reach the one window, which is greatly appreciated. To be frank, I didn't really like the regular coffee. Perhaps it was the blend I got that day, but I prefer Peets, Portola, or Kean. However, they do have a good selection of lattes and specialty drinks which are better than Starbucks. I really enjoyed the Irish Breve, for one. Prices are a little high, but then again, it is also on point with competitive coffee joints, so I can't really complain. They also have a loyalty app where you can get points for your purchases to gain a credit for future purchases. On Wednesdays it's double points, so take advantage of that! Oh, and minor detail: don't laugh...but I love the lids on the cups. They have a little slider for the mouthpiece, so you can easily cover and uncover the hole to avoid spills while driving. Cute coffee shop! Stopped by this morning, and embarrassingly realized I forgot my wallet at home. The barista was kind enough to inform me I could download the app and use mobile pay through there. The whole process was incredibly easy and intuitive. I got a choc mac for myself, and a little side of whipped cream for my puppy. Small drive-thru gourmet coffee shop that serves quality drinks. The mexi mocha and granita are highly recommended. They also serve steve smith tea which is very good whole leaf tea. Love the espresso chocolate bean they put on top of every drink which is a nice touch. Coffee drinks pricey but u get what you pay for in this case and dont feel ripped off. My gripes: one time during their soft opening a kids steamer was served boiling hot which could have caused severe burn had I not checked it beforehand. Hopefully staff is better trained now. Also dont care much for their fruit smoothies which I feel are too artificial/sweet. Stick to coffee/tea drinks here. Safety tip: Be careful entering and exiting since people tend to speed on that section of El Toro and theres a slight blind spot. read more

All Amazing flavors and comes with a white chocolate covered espresso bean candy on top. Delish! Came here on a whim after driving by a few times. It is located at yhe end of a plaza where it caters to drive thru customers. I haven't seen anyone order on foot. Just drive up find a large menu and window to order. It was not busy and I was greeted by friendly staff. Ordered an Americano it has a strong bold flavor and couldn't beat the price for a 16 oz drink. Came back again other times and tried their specialty house drinks. My favorite is the snowy mocha.
