Stopped in for lunch again on Saturday, and since my last review everything has stayed consistently great! Service is still friendly, and the food quality is very good. Still has the local vibe and the local crowd sipping beer at the bar and playing Keno. Hardworking owners put out a nice meal. Check out the specials board when you're there. After a very quick trip to MGM casino in Springfield my friend & I decided to get out of the chaos & expensive parking rates surrounding it to have some dinner. I found what sounded like a fun place to check out in yelp & it definitely didn't disappoint! This neighborhood gem was different than most and everybody was so welcoming. Trent made me the best pumpkin martini I've ever had & the food which is made right there on premises was so good! One of the appetizers we enjoyed were the corn beef egg rolls which were unbelievable! Everything we sampled was delicious and my friend's "well done" black & blue burger was perfect which rarely happens!! It's a nice local tavern. Typical bar menu and a tad loud on the bar side givens the small footprint. Food was hot and tasty. Not great for families on the bar side but better on the small dining room (8 tables or so). If you are looking for a local place for a quick bite with the hubby then this is the place for you. read more

Ordered take-out through Door Dash. Door Dash had to call me and modify my order because they ran out of something. No big deal. We got the food and it was mediocre. The brioche buns for the burgers were soft and fresh, veggies on it were fresh but the patties themselves were clearly pre-packaged and frozen, you could tell by the shape and texture. I couldn't finish mine because I kept getting little fatty balls in the burger. The fries were fine, tasted and looked similar to McDonalds. The mozzarella sticks were the best part of the order, but they didn't give us any sauce for them. Overall, it was fine. Might order again from them in a pinch since they're close-by, but will definitely steer clear of the burgers. read more

So where do I start? Stopped here as a last ditch effort to get some dinner. There were 3 people at the bar, including me. Ordered a drink. Decent pour. Ordered food. Bar tender disappeared. Empty glass in front of me for a good 10 minutes. Finally got a refill. Still no sign of my appetizer. After 1/2 hour, still no food. And the place is practically empty. My guess is app & main are going to appear at the same time. But I was wrong. My main arrived 1 minute after the app. Pot stickers were mediocre at best. Standard frozen stuff I can make at home. And guess what? They don't take 1/2 hour to cook at home. The flat bread pizza would make a good sole for a shoe, if you really didn't like the sidewalk. In fact, it kinda smelled like an old shoe. The chicken was diced pre-cooked crap. Absolutely horrible. Stop in for a drink or a beer. Then leave. Do not order food!!!! read more

I went there on May 2nd on my way to pick up relatives at the airport. It's right off I-91. I always try to frequent local restaurants as opposed to chains. There was a private party in the restaurant side so I sat at the bar. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was great! I ordered a BBQ burger, fries and a beer. The burger (it was big) was cooked perfectly, the fries were hot and the beer was cold. I definitely didn't leave hungry and the price was reasonable! Look forward to my next visit!! read more

What a great find for our recent hockey team end of the year celebration! Janet and Trent created a very welcoming and comfortable environment. We placed the kids orders ahead of time and got all the adults a drink up front to ease into the event. Janet was extremely accommodating despite the small kitchen. The boys all enjoyed their meals. The Dexter Bacon Cheeseburger, boneless wings, and buffalo chicken flatbread were all a hit with the boys. I had a very good Ceasar Salad, a beer and an amazing, Spicy Bloody Mary. The casual atmosphere, very good pub food, great beer and cocktail selection, and family-like service makes this place a keeper. Check the place out when you're not on a time crunch and are able to sit back and enjoy a good meal along with a few cocktails in a charmingly rustic pub environment . You might even enjoy a game of cards or Jenga in the dining room while you sit back and enjoy this gem of a place. We'll be back for sure! read more

The food was very good and the staff is friendly. We were greeted imediatly. A family member joined me who was vegetation and allergic to garlic. She had a salad that she said tasted very good. I had a medium rare burger. It was cooked to perfection. I have been to many places that make burgers that aren't close to medium rare. The fries had seasoning on it which enhanced. Surprisingly good food and decent drinks. We stopped in on a Saturday night while waiting for an arrival at Bradley. The salads were very fresh, the salsa was more of a pico, but just amazing. The staff and regulars were very friendly and there was plenty of parking. I recommend. The only strong suggestion is to have more than just two kinds of non flavored vodka. read more

This review is written off of memory. I went here about a month ago...We stopped in for a drink because we live in the area. The bar section was extremely small and the variety of wine was minimal. The bartender told us about a wine event that was coming up but we didn't go back. Maybe once they have been open a bit longer we would consider going back and trying something food. read more

I want to love the Rhino. I really do. I live in the neighborhood and have been a couple times. The food is typical bar food which means if you get anything fried, it's going to be ok because it's hard to screw that up. The presentation and flavor leaves a lot to be desired for everything else. Average Bloody Mary was not worth the hype of all the toppings they advertised (most of which were forgotten). Probably the worst of it for me is that there seemed to be a spider problem. We saw four white medium size spiders while we were there. One dropped onto the booth from the ceiling while I was eating. I always want to support the local businesses but probably won't be back for food. Maybe as a watering hole for cheap drinks! read more

First of all, get the wings. Second, if you like Keno, bring cash, as there is no ATM. Now for the review...I travel all over the planet and go to bars and restaurants of all shapes and sizes. This quaint establishment was far more than I expected. I continually search for delicious wings in my travels, and I have to say that the wings here are delicious. They are big, perfectly cooked, and the buffalo sauce is pretty darned good, although I prefer it a bit hotter. The service was fantastic! I neglected to get the name of the bartender, but she was incredibly friendly and attentive, which is important to a rover like myself. The people at the bar were very friendly and welcoming as well. This was my first time having food there! The service was great, the bartender always had a smile on her face she was so friendly! We did a chicken bacon ranch flat bread as an appetizer. The chicken had such good flavor and it wasn't too big or too small it was just right! I had the southwest burger, it had a little kick to it the jalapeno s on top we're delicious! After only going back a few times, we're on a first name basis with the staff there and they know our usual orders. It's so comforting to have that local bar/restaurant that you can always rely on. Thank you to Bob and his staff for serving a fine buffet style lunch for our family's baptism celebration. The food was plentiful and delicious with some very appropriate kids' choices. Everything was set up and ready to go when we all arrived. The room was a perfect size for the 30 or so of us including the 9 who are 5 and under. A nice touch was having one of the tv's tuned to a kid's channel and one tuned to the football game! The warm, welcoming atmosphere and wonderful service tipped this from a 4-star to 5-star experience. We're a family of six - 4 kids (gasp), one of whom is a baby (double gasp) - and we showed up on the later side after a long road trip on a Friday night. The bar was bustling, and there was a large party in the dining room. We were greeted warmly, space was found for us, and we were seated quickly. We ordered the track fries and wings to start--the fries were solid, and the wings were delicious. For dinner, my husband ordered the steak sandwich, which was fantastic and which he would recommend, and I got a cobb salad, which hit the spot after the wings. The kids loved their foot-long hotdogs; I appreciated that there were a variety of options for them as well. What made the evening, however, was the service - from start to finish, our entire family felt like welcome guests in a friend's home. If you're in the area, I highly recommend you check it out!
