I just had lunch at this place. The outside female bartender was extremely sweet. The inside female bartender had the personality of a horses a_s. She was rude, short, and was actually wearing a shirt from another bar which I thought was crazy...funky Buddha. This bartender continued to leave the main bar to go fraternize with other employees (the outside bartender) constantly. I was expecting something completely different from this restaurant. More laid back, something along the lines of the Dubliner. What I ended up with is a place that looks like a super-spreader hang out and a predominately college crowd (which is fine). No one here was wearing masks, not sure why. It seems to be a Palm Beach county thing as everywhere I went yesterday was pretty much the same thing. I'm not turning this political but I still feel servers should wear them. Food here ranges from average to very good. My mac and cheese was great, my flat bread was smothered in basalmic and it drowned out other flavours. Prices are extremely reasonable and portion sizes are always on the larger side of things. They have outdoor seating but you risk getting smoked out. My friend really enjoyed the parm egg rolls but said the fish and chips was average. Have Hooters in mind when you go to this place and less Irish pub and you should have a really nice time. Large-ish pub with a main bar and a side bar, plenty of cricket boards and some fairly inexpensive drinks (G&T or a Green Tea will each run you only $5). Coffered ceiling with a few fans works to keep you cool but the joint holds heat fairly fast with a big crowd turning it into a sauna pretty quick. Parking is lined narrowly so be careful...I'm sure the drunken door dinging is ferocious. No fantastic beers, or even decent ones, so a bit of a letdown there, and not quite the cheery service as at Tilted Kilt. read more

I have worked right by this place for about six years now. Until recently I never knew I had an Irish Pub near my office. My coworkers were talking it up one day and I knew I wanted to try them out for dinner sometime soon. I came here a few weekends ago. We arrived at about 7:30 on a Saturday night. The bar was busy which was a good sign. We found a table in the back of the bar. I have to admit the noise level was annoying. The music was a little loud for my taste and it made dinner conversation a bit difficult. My biggest pet peeve is poor service. No matter how great the food is if the service is not good then I am not happy. Our server was missing in action most of the time we were eating, or trying to eat anyway. At one point my friend and I were seriously thinking of walking out. Both of us were craving Sheperd's Pie so we decided to wait. I started with a side salad ($5.95). The balsamic dressing was delicious but the salad itself was not worth the price. It was fresh but very dull. My friend started with a cup of the Potato Soup ($2.95). His soup was deliciously sinful. The soup was topped with bacon, cheese and scallions. If you have a larger appetite you can get a bowl for $4.95 which I think would make a great lunch or a simple dinner. I highly recommend trying the soup. We were served our Sheperd's Pie ($12.95) and it looked amazing. The portion was very large and I immediately thought that next time we could share it. It was topped with melted cheese which I didn't expect but I was okay with that. As we had our first few bites we realized that our food was not hot. The center of our dishes were ice cold. I didn't think it was a big deal and that we would just send it back and have the kitchen reheat our plates. But what made the situation a big deal was the fact that our waitress didn't come back to check on us for a very long time, fifteen minutes to be exact. When she did arrive I asked her if she forgot about us. I guess going outside to make a call is more important than checking to see if your customers are satisfied, and clearly we were not. A few minutes later we were both served two new plates of very hot Shepherd's Pie. My friend enjoyed his and I know he would order it again. Overall the food was solid. They have lots of lunch and happy hour specials & on Tuesday they offer the Shepherd's Pie for just $5.00 dollars. I think it's $5.00 but it may be $5.95. Either way it's a great deal. Huge selection of craft beers too. We had to ask our server for everything. Menus, silverware, salt & pepper, napkins and even the check. Even though the food was pretty good, I am not rushing to go back anytime soon. read more

I was looking for a late night dinner and couldn't remember the last time I ate shepherds pie so I was up for some Irish food after searching Yelp endlessly for a new spot in Boca and found The Irishmen. This was my first time here and the total time from walking in to leaving with my food was maybe 10 minutes- very quick and convenient. The shepherd's pie was incredibly rich and delicious, full of flavor that I was really impressed by given the unassuming atmosphere of this place. However... I'm truthfully wondering if there was a mistake with my order because the portion size for $13 was very, very small. It was akin to a side salad in size and I was still very much hungry after. Even by appetizer standards it would't have been adequate, let alone for a dinner portion. I was disappointed because it was so good and to eat dinner but feel like you didn't even eat yet wasn't the best of feelings. I recently visited The Irishmen and unfortunately had a less-than-pleasant experience. As I am normally a regular there and know multiple of the bartenders and have never had a bad experience till this occasion. This experience has left me quite concerned if you will get my business again. While the ambiance was nice, I encountered a few issues that left me dissatisfied. First of all the server/Bartender who is African American (I am unaware of her name), she decided to single me out while I was with my friends for no particular reason when she walked up to our table. Then started to be very rude to me and comments that were very offensive and uncalled for. Then when I came back another day she continued to harass me. I don't think a server like that represents what your business stands for and it makes me sad cause it was my favorite bar in boca. I have been in the restaurant industry for many years and its never acceptable for a server or anyone to talk to a customer the way she did to me for no particular reason besides that she wanted to be a bitch. read more

My girlfriends live way south of me so we usually meet up halfway at Irishmen. It is an Irish-interior architecture-decor-themed bar... but the menu, attire, and beer selection is not. It is misleading as I have been to fantastic "nationality-based" restaurant bars where they stay true to the name and nationality of it's own self. However, the food is still good, just not Irish. It is a great place to catch up with friends and enjoy a game or two. It is non-smoking indoors which I LOVE, while smokers are only allowed to smoke outside. Perfect. Parking is never an issue. Sometimes they will have 2 for 1 beers which they will give you a token to hold until you are ready to drink your second beer which is convenient as to keep track of what you've drank and how much you may have spent. Just wish they put more effort in making the bar more true to it's Irish roots- not the American-Italian and burger roots. read more

My husband and I had a LocalDines coupon that was just about to expire, and since our AC went out last night, it was a great time to leave the house, check out this place, and use our $25. We were destined for dinner. I know it's crazy not to order Irish food at an Irish spot, but the Irishmen Veggie Curry had chicken in the curry sauce, and I don't consume chicken. So, I went with the flatbread and a house salad. The flatbread should have been called thickbread. If you are a foodie, and like flatbread, don't order this. You'll be disappointed. (By the way, the flatbread image that Irishmen uploaded looks larger and different than the one I received, yet they are both supposed to be margherita flatbread. Look at the pics and compare.) The house salad was huge...but mostly just lettuce with some chopped up red onions, cucumbers and tomatoes. It was a disappointment to receive a large plate of mostly lettuce. My husband ordered the fish and chips. He complained that the cole slaw was bland. I tried it, and I concur. Another disappointment. The fish was one large filet, not typical pieces of fish. This is good! However, the more important aspect of it was that it was ultra greasy. Hubby DID love his french fries though. The only reason I'm not giving 2 stars is because service was friendly, our server knew the menu, and my husband was able to order warm, freshly made chocolate chip cookies for dessert. I came here on a Wednesday night and it was packed with college kids. It felt like I walked into someone's crazy house party who's parents had been out of town for the week. A beer pong game took place inside while a corn hole game went on outside... I seriously started feeling like i was in high school again. The bartenders were terrible. It was impossible to get them to recognize you even though they were clearly aware that you were waiting on them. Very rude! Drink specials were 2-4-1... The Irishmen is great, despite inconsistent reviews. We generally have work parties/gatherings here and they are always very accommodating and quick to serve. The bar usually has a handful of quality beers on draft that change frequently and has a large assortment of mixed drinks and domestic and imported bottles. The food is typical Irish pub food. Good stuff to soak up the alcohol and a good variety. I love their potato soup! The flatbreads are all amazing as well. I came here on a Monday... Getting the bartender's attention was next to impossible. While I understand the desire to chat with regulars, can you do it AFTER you serve beer to the thirst people? Don't go here if you are like 99% of people who only carry one form of ID(legally issued state ID). They have a completely ridiculous policy. They need two picture IDs to buy alcohol. The reason for this, according to the manager, is that if you look "younger than they are used too" you must show 2 IDs. Sounds like age discrimination to me. If you are a manager and cant spot a fake, what are you doing with your career? If you are in your 20s look for somewhere else! 2 stars cause last time came here food was decent and the prices are ok, otherwise I would give 1 star because this place is useless for people near my age, which I imagine would be a large portion of their clientele, what a shame.This policy really kills them, seeing as their close to FAU, they would make good money off people who are actually 21+ that go there. Please reconsider this policy for the additional star rating you should get for an otherwise nice Irish pub. read more

Used to come here a lot with classmates after class on Mondays and Wednesdays. We were such regulars that the bartenders recognized us all the time. On Wednesdays it was 2 for 1 drinks. My favorite was Malibu and pineapple until the bartenders would convince us to take shots! We always had a very good time! Music was good. Several people played beer pong or darts. They have several TVs around, all the games were on. They have 2 bars and outside seating. The place itself is not that pretty outside but inside it's nice. I've tried the nachos here and they are delicious! This is definitely a nice place to hangout with friends to grab a quick bite to eat or have drinks. I think it is time to go back again! This place is great, all new on the inside but the old building style is still preserved. inside there are new, black granite bar tops..the bar is right in the middle and is pretty much a big circle. there is live music on one side, lots of seating everywhere, and many new HD tv's for watching games and whatever else. a bit of an older crowd but i think thats starting to change as the younger group is beginning to see how great this place is.. and...they have excellent food! from traditional bar dishes to great hummus..you cant go wrong here read more
