When the wait next door was too long - we decided to come into the Irishmen. It was surprisingly good. Great and friendly server and good food. We had bangers and mash, corned beef hash and buffalo chicken strips. The chicken strips were amazing. The corned beef hash and bangers and mash was good. We have had better, which is why no 5 stars. But they have many other items we would like to try and great specials most nights. Plus it was kid friendly. The drinks seems reasonably priced as well. NEWLY RENOVATED! The Irishmen has undergone a huge change in the past 6 months and now sports a huge bar, massive selection of beers on tap, 6 HD tv's and a delectable menu. There are high tops inside and out and 4 dartboards. Friday night is Irish night. Thursday is College night. But go for lunch and stay for happy hour. The best pre or post game spot for FAU football. The only bar/restaurant w/ in walking distance to stadium (about 1 mile). The fresh haddock fish & chips along w/ the homemade chili were excellent. The place was packed w/ FAU fans of all ages after the game. They had all the other big college football games on the many TVs. They also open early show European Soccer & Rugby matches. There's 2 bars inside & a huge patio outside. We met the owner Rossa who stopped by to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. We had a ball & will defiantly be back. Go Owls! read more

Clean dive bar with darts. The main entrance is by the back? Its okay though you can enter from the parking lot by tom sayer also. The Guinness was tasty. One visit to the Irishmen and myself and my friends will not be going back - ever. This place was a disappointment. It has the look of a badly pre-manufactured chains "this is what a Americanized Irish Pub should look like" bar. No booths, just tables jammed together diner style and some high top tables. TVs all over the walls and one was broken but turned on anyway with a distorted picture. Several people in my group had mistakes on their checks, with every single mistake being an overcharge. It was so confused that it was almost impossible to untangle. Additionally, credit cards between two separate parties (not together at all) got swapped. The service was inconsistent with long intervals where we could not find a waitress. One of our party stated that it took longer to get his change from paying the bill then it did to get his food. The food was unimpressive. Buffalo chicken wings that were not true buffalo chicken wings which are supposed to be fried and then coated in a sauce. The wings looked and tasted pre-packed. Their Sheppard's pie was not Sheppard's Pie - Sheppard's Pie is made with lamb, not beef (if you use beef, its Cottage Pie). The bar does have a decent beer selection but it is overpriced in my opinion. The clincher was the owner. He was unnecessarily rude to some of my friends. Given the situation, his manner, speech and attitude were not called for. To cap it off he then got into row with the manager at the entrance where he could clearly be heard shouting at the manager. I have no idea what 'Conner H.' saw/experienced while at The Irishmen, but he obviously does not appreciate quality Irish food and drink. We came across this place by chance and have had nothing but fabulous food and drink. To start on the 'Irish side' of things, the Shepard's Pie is TO DIE FOR, and as I commented to Gary (one of the best bar tenders EVER) his pour of a proper Guinness is like having your ma tuck you in at night. Absolutely PERFECT! *NOTE* Visit on a Tuesday and try both the pie and Guinness for an amazing price!* If you have room and are willing to try their Bread Pudding, you will not be disappointed. My husband and I have been there for brunch as well; their breakfast and Bloody Mary's are pretty darn tasty too! Friday (and I believe Saturday) nights they have an Irish group come in to play some live music. The crowd really gets into the songs and everyone (old and young alike) has a great time. I've always really loved this place. It used to be my college go to bar. We went back again this week for some drinks and food. It's still just as great! The shepherd's pie is very good, a little small, but really tasty! My personal favorite is the greek wrap. It's basically a chicken greek salad in a wrap, comes with fries. They have specials every night. We went on wednesday and it was happy hour drinks all night! Can't beat that. On the weekends they usually have an irish band come in, which is a blast. The parking is good, if you can't find a spot out front, try on the other side of the building. Overall, great prices, friendly bartenders, and a good time! This restaurant/bar always impresses me. Each time I've been there, whether for a lunch with friends or sitting at the bar to catch the awesome jazz on Saturday nights, they are the most welcoming group I've ever met. Every bartender greets you with a warm handshake, introduces themselves and asks your name and remembers it! The service is impeccable but the food is amazing, They have a very diverse menu, so everyone can find something they like but what they bring and deliver is some of the freshest, most delicious fare I've had of late. They rival much more expensive restaurants and their pricing is beyond reasonable. I've had everything from Bangers and mash to a chopped cobb that was one of the most creative ones I've ever had. The fish was delicate and the veggies steamed to perfection. I'm planning to return there often and bring friends as I think it is one of the best kept secrets in this area,. My experience at this bar was so terrible that I cannot in good conscious recommend it to anyone. I went in on Fri. night and was ignored by the bartenders for a solid ten minutes despite holding cash in my hand and making eye contact with each one several times. When I finally got some service it was accompanied with a bad attitude and plain rudeness, leading me to believe that I was burden on this guy. I would have to say the highlight of the evening was when I made the mistake of asking for a second beer. Apparently this was too much to handle because I was chastised and told to chill out since he was in the middle of something. I guess he had better things to do, which did not include letting me know that he got my order. On the flipside of the coin, the food is pretty good. The Irishmen has really stepped their game up recently. I've been going there with my friends a lot lately because of their lunch specials and happy hour. They have above average food and great half off drafts specials during happy hour. We like to play darts and it is a great atmosphere to hang out, eat some food, drink some good draft beers, and play some darts. The past few times we've went there, we stayed even longer than we planned on because they bring in entertainment such as trivia. You can also win money towards a bar tab by placing top 4 in the trivia. They have many TVs, so you can watch just about any game you want and they have decent service. Stopped in here on a Saturday night expecting some music but instead there was an Irish team celebrating a sports win of some type. First of all, we made the mistake of going on a Friday night at 530....there was some sort of office party going on....between the NOISE from the crowd and the speaker we were sitting under it was IMPOSSIBLE to carry on a conversation with the rest of the table without yelling....I was completely hoarse by the time dinner was over....but aside from that I wouldn't go back due to the quality of the food....the table wanted to get chicken tenders....meh....potato "puffs" which were just fried mashed potatoes and BLAND...even WITH the "special dipping sauce", and an order of flatbread served on the THINNEST, WETTEST bread EVER!!....the second you tried to pick it up it fell over and all the topping fell off.!!!!!.....my buddy and I decided to split our meals so one got the fish and chips and the other got just a burger (ordered MEDIUM) with American cheese.....the fish was $17 and not worth 2 !!!...one half was indeed filet, the other was FLAT and was basically NOTHING but batter!!.....total rip off !!!....and GREASY!!!....the burger was ALMOST RARE....I've never had a burger that fell apart while I was trying to eat it !!!!....I had to pull off some of the bun because it was so WET!!!.....by that time I was not about to try sending anything back....I just wanted to GO !!!....so between the not good food and not being able to talk to our friends I have to say....not on my list of wanna go back places.....although...on the plus side ...the waitress was really good!....so....there ya go....might be different on other more non party nights.....but who knows??? read more

We are staying in Boca Raton for a work conference. I asked a local where the best Irish restaurant was, and they suggested this restaurant. BOY WERE THEY RIGHT!! My wife and I had 2 nights in Boca and tried The Irishmen the first night. We enjoyed it so much, that we didn't even try another restaurant. WE WENT BACK ANOTHER NIGHT. We tried something new the second night just to see if it was luck the first night. We enjoyed our food even better THE SECOND NIGHT!! My favorite bar in Boca! The staff is amazing. They all seem to be very polite and I've rarely had slow service, even when they are busy! They have a ton of beer on tap, they make great mixed drinks, and the food is phenomenal. I personally love their burgers and i've heard great things about the flat bread pizza. They have a chalk board with all of the daily specials and they have good deals for Sunday brunch as well. The entertainment is great too! There's occasionally a live band that performs, but typically music is played using a juke box. They also have multiple tv's on each wall. If you like live traditional Irish music, then the Irishman is the place to be on a Friday night. They have a great Irish band there from 7:30 to 10:30 and they never take a break. It's a lot of fun and the crowd really gets into it. The food is typical pub food with a leaning toward traditional Irish pub food. The food is good and not expensive. There are a multitude of beers on tap, including Guinness, Smithwicks. Harp, etc. All in all, a lot of fun there read more
