This is certainly the least touristy place to eat in Poulsbo. It's quite a dive, and you'll always feel like you're out of place among the regulars, but the food is delicious. Great portions too. I hope today is an anomoly - I've been here before and had good experiences, but today is something else. As I type this, an elderly guy at the end of the counter is loudly spouting racist, anti-black ravings to and with his 3 friends. I happen to be white, but I don't need to sit and listen to white supremacist clap-trap while I eat. All while the cook and waitress are yelling at each other and blaming each other for the long delay in getting food on table for customers. Waitress has cried twice and started to walk out once so far. Maybe, assuming I do in fact get my breakfast soon, I will give this place another try. But maybe not - there are other places in the Poulsbo area. Doesn't matter if the food is great or not if this is considered an okay atmosphere for customers. This is a great little hole in the wall. Both the staff (Ashley) and the customers were super friendly and the food was delicious. I had the meat and cheese omelet with sausage and ham and added mushrooms. It was so good. The cheese was burnt on the edges which just added to the already delicious flavor. We were up in the Poulsbo area and love to adventure dine. This place was really cool! We sat down and actually jumped into a conversation with other patrons in the the restaurant. Stopped here for an awesome breakfast before a long day of hiking, and enjoyed every second. It's a quintessential small town diner kind of place where they seem to know half the people who walk in for Saturday morning breakfast. The food is exactly what you hope to get; I had a huge scramble with salsa on top and toast on the side, my friend had a delicious looking omelet that she enjoyed, and we were very full by the end of the meal. The only downside is that it's a small place, and we saw a larger group have to wait awkwardly for 10 minutes to get a table, but it's a great atmosphere and coming in twos or threes will get you a seat faster. read more

Although the place would normally get about three stars, I'm judging it based on the type of establishment it is: small town diner. I love these little diners where most of the people are regulars that the waitresses call out by name as soon as they walk in the door. They are loud and talk about their families and jobs and don't mind if you listen in or even interject. Just by being there you are part of the family. The food is good and made with local meats, potatoes, eggs, etc. The wait usually isn't long unless you come during the lunch rush. read more

The quintessential American Diner food. Comfort food from 1950s to now. The working man's and woman's food as is depicted by those that eat here and have for years. Pickup trucks loaded with work gear, a couple motorcycles, local restaurant owners cars from other Poulsbo restaurants, and other work-day-transportation fill the parking lot... not Porches, BMWs, or Mercedes. A friendly down home staff perfectly suited to this friendly warm place. Small space that can be difficult to find spot in around the noon hours, adjust accordingly. Breakfast way before most people get up and lunch till about 3PM... Breakfast anytime they are open, as it should be anytime a joint uses the name "diner" in it's name! read more

I don't usually write reviews, but the bad ones here are ridiculous. This place is pure Americana, folks. I went there for the first time this morning, after living in the area for 13 years. I'm just sorry I didn't go sooner. This is a greasy spoon diner of the best kind! I had gorgeous eggs benedict with hashbrowns and coffee. The tiny place was packed, with constant turn over. The plates were piled high and there was cheerful conversation all around. I'm going back for the biscuits and gravy for sure, and more than once! read more

I read Sunny O's review and it is obvious she was not looking for a true "hidden treasure" as she stated. The food is great and the people are a wide variety not gross construction guys. I tried this place for take out because of the high reviews and was very disappointed. The potatoes and gravy didn't seem to be freshly made (frozen), the corned beef hash was also made from a can and not even seasoned much. Would not recommend. Will not return. read more

Biscuits and gravy were perfectly made. The sawmill gravy was creamy and very tasty. The biscuits were fluffy and kept a perfect chew --not soggy like some places. The eggs were cooked as I requested. We also had a veggie hash brown delight which was delicious. Friendly staff. Came out and waved us to come in as we sat parked in the lot wondering if we should go in. Somehow we beat the rush of locals who came in a few minutes after us. Old timers at the bar and a couple. People being greeted by name. Everything you want from a diner without any of the grease, grime, or attitude you deal with in other places eating on the road. read more

Small town diner that's probably been there since the 30's and little has changed. I drive by quite a bit since my route is from Bremerton to Port Gamble and I often stop for either breakfast or lunch. I understand the owner was a long-time waitress there and when it became available, she took it over. The one problem I have is the Wednesday waitress - she seems to be a little scattered at times, and a little inattentive to the customers she does not know (and LOUD!). I try not to go in on Wednesdays in order to avoid the one gripe I have with this place, otherwise they have great food and quick service. I would recommend this diner to anyone that likes the type of ambiance the owner (Sherry) provides. read more

Four stars for a total dive diner. This is where you go when you accidentally wake up too early hungover or you haven't fallen asleep yet and you need a greasy breakfast to absorb all that alcohol. In the wee hours it's full of loggers getting their grub before heading up the hills. Good black hot coffee. Huge portions of chicken fried steak and biscuits with gravy. I love getting breakfast at this place! One of the last true diners in the area. Not gourmet food, but filling and cheap and it's open super early in the morning. A great place to fuel up after a long bike ride. Not a lot of space, as others have said, so you might have to wait for a table. But it's worth a short wait, for sure! It is small, so you might not get a table right away, and waiting for one might feel a little awkward as well, given the size. I wish it was a little bigger. This place is great for breakfast. Haven't sampled anything but their breakfasts... since they are so good. It's tiny, and they don't always have room for non-regulars. It's a family effort, which I suppose is how they can be successful in such small quarters--well, that and the fact that it's always packed!
