This is the first poke place I have tried in LA, and I honestly do not know if the prices are normal or just wild. You pay a lot and do not get much protein. Not enough fish for the price. I came with my dog and got the kids meal for him, which was just bare chicken and almost ten dollars. The bowl was tiny. I ordered the three protein combo for myself and the total came out to a little over thirty dollars. I expected much bigger portions because it is a combo, but that was not the case. Because of that, I probably will not be coming back. That said, the food itself was good and the employees were really nice and friendly. I do want to mention the ahi tuna had a weird aftertaste. I am a huge sushi fan and usually can tell when fish is high quality to the tea, and this did not taste like that to me. The quality felt okay overall, but the quantity was definitely lacking. I would describe this place like Sweetgreen, but for poke. Fast, easy, and simple. If you want something quick, it works. If you want value and to actually feel full, I would probably look elsewhere. read more

Being from Hawaii, I crave poke (especially spicy ahi) every so often but am always scared to try a new spot lol. Pokeworks was decent, thankfully! Spicy ahi bowl - Yum. Flavors were exactly what I expected, but I think the edamame was extra/unnecessary. Yuzu ponzu salmon - Ok. Wouldn't get again. The ponzu sauce was too light & although I usually like yuzu, I felt it overwhelmed the dish. Salmon didn't taste very fresh either. If the portion was any smaller, I wouldn't return but it's actually pretty worth it! I love that you're able to customize your own bowl too so I do plan to return for that. read more

Huge interior and exterior seating. They have free street parking and free garage parking lot adjacent in the building. Fast fresh flavors and lots of options to customize. It has one of the largest spaces I've seen for a poke spot. They even have a Foosball table which is kind of random quirky but fun idea. read more

Great for a healthy and light lunch option! Nana was super nice and helpful. She suggested the Pokeworks classic sauce which I was hesitant about at first because it's called a "vinaigrette" but it was yummy! All ingredients are fresh and delicious! I feel like you just have to ask for extra on the toppings because they tend to be kind of light. The pineapple was soooo fresh and sweet! A flavor bomb for this meal! I was also shocked to see them have spicy tuna with actual chunks of ahi tuna(I can't stand the ground stuff). They offer some discounts from the website which is nice. I've been a regular customer at this place for quite some time, coming here at least once a week. Unfortunately, every visit has become more disappointing than the last. The staff is polite, but clearly poorly trained by the owner. There is absolutely no consistency. Every time I order a Large bowl, the portion size depends on who's serving -- sometimes it's reasonable, other times it's ridiculously small. The scoops are inconsistent, and more than once I've been given what looks like half a scoop of fish being counted as a full portion. When you question it, they tell you that if you want more, you have to pay extra -- which is unacceptable considering how expensive the poke already is. There is also a promotion advertised saying that if you spend over $25, you get $5 off. This feels misleading. I usually spend around $42 (ordering for myself and my wife) and have never received this discount. Even the owner couldn't properly explain how the promotion works. This place seriously lacks standards, transparency, and proper management. The owner needs to train the staff better and understand what consistency and customer service really mean. It's no surprise the place gets emptier every time I go. Very disappointed. I won't be coming back, and I can't recommend this place to anyone until major improvements are made. read more

The service was nice. They have a nice patio area to eat which they probably share with another restaurant. The food was decent. I felt like I did not get that much fish for 18$. Portions felt rationed. The meal itself lacked sauce and I did put "extra" sauce when ordering through the kiosk and it still wasn't enough. Great poke spot! The restaurant is clean. The ingredients are fresh. I like that they also offer musubis and coffee. It's like a one stop shop for lunch. I love the convenience. The staff is friendly and nice. They are very helpful with building your poke bowl. Lots of great sauce options. I've been a regular at their Irvine location for years, so I'm excited to finally get the same poke bowl here in LA. This new spot just opened this week and has plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. I love all the toppings and customization options you can add to the bowl. I got build-your-own bowl where you can choose: - base: white rice, brown rice, salad, or +$1 for ramen noodle - proteins: salmon, spicy salmon, tuna, spicy tuna, shrimp, chicken, tofu, lobster surimi. Large is 3 scoops and regular is 2 scoops. - add mix-ins: add your vegetables or fruits, highly suggest getting their mandarin oranges or mango if you choose salmon as your protein. Such a great combo! - sauce: Pokeworks classic, umami shoyu, sweet shoyu, sweet chili gochujang, siracha aioli, Serrano aioli, ponzu fresh, Hawaiian salt and chili. Tbh I wasn't a huge fan of Serrano aioli based on the toppings I got for my bowl. Next visit, I probably would just go with pokework classic, which is a ginger sesame vinaigrette. - add ons: toppings and crunches are available at the end. I recommend seaweed salad and surimi salad! You can even add avocado for $1 more or masago for $0.50 more. Be sure to add some crunch like dried onions! I finally found a new poke place to go to. I crave it all the time but it's hard to find a place that does it right. The sauces, the fish quality, the toppings were are all on point. The bowls are very filling and the price is good considering you can get all the toppings you want. Pro tip if you like your bowls with a slight kick get it a little bit of the chili crisps. Having worked next to a poke place, I've been tired of that concept for some time now. But this place has restored my faith in raw fish done well. With a variety of tunas, salmons and even lobster (!) it was fun choosing my flavors but honestly I loved the options of sides too including avocado, seaweed salad and kale. I had their house dressing which wasn't overly sweet and pretty perfect. They have designer bowls which I'll probably try next time. On a side note, Mama Musubi which is only available at farmers market will eventually be at this location as well - I remember them being pretty delicious so I'm looking forward to that as well. read more

Pokeworks had a solid setup with a quick moving line and a lot of toppings to choose from, but the bowl I got didn't hit the mark. I went with the lobster and spicy tuna, and while the flavors were fine, the amount of protein was disappointing. There were maybe three or four tiny cubes of tuna and barely any lobster at all. It felt like I just paid for a bowl of rice topped with some garlic crisps. Not the worst, but definitely not satisfying. Came here to try poke for the first time a couple weeks ago and have been back 3-4 times since. If a young Asian guy named Darrien happens to be working, do whatever he tells you. He gave me some helpful suggestions the first time: for example, the bowl provides you better bang for your buck since they can fit more rice, while the burrito needs to be wrapped. (The seaweed-wrapped burrito, while smaller, is still really good.) The second time I went, he concocted some sauce that was a combination of 3-4 different ones. Dude should be a chef because it was some of the best spicy sauce I've ever had and paired perfectly with the poke. The food overall is really good and feels clean and filling, though slightly expensive ($16-$17 for a standard bowl). read more

The wait was long given there was only one small order ahead of me and the staff gave someone else my bowl initially before having to ask for it back. The food is just okay a bit bland and they got my order wrong. The topping portions were small and the pineapple tasted canned and overpowered the taste of everything else. I use to go at Pokeworks in OC, and it was amazing. I tried the LA locations for the third time and it was a disappointment. It is very dirty the place. The server pickup the rice spoon and I was a slime white thing in the spoon and she didn't ever notice. It was gross. I can't imagine how dirty that water and spoon has been. She put that dirty spoon in the rice pan. And served that to my bowl. And the floor was dirty. I COULDN'T eat that. read more

I was at the location sunset blvd in LA, it was a clean environment but the portions were absolutely ridiculous. $20 dollars of salad greens and rice mainly. I got two scoops of protein, I counted 5 pieces of tuna and around 6 of Salmon. Additionally I got half a bite of seaweed salad and 7 edamame beans. I never count food, but this time I couldn't not.
