This was a unique find the waitress was very knowledgeable about substituting and allergies mine are wheat gluten dairy and soy. The oil they use is rice oil. I got this afghan rice special with cool flavoring and butternut squash so delicious!! Some side of sweet potato waffles cut fries. Holy cow! I've been skeptical of going --my aunt and dad have been raving about the fish and chips- I'm not a fan of the dish in general, but they both swear Kosmos has the best Fish and Chips in town. For the record, they both are from London. They both had the fish and chips today and still are obsessed (I stole some fries- highly recommend!) I ordered the fried chicken sandwich with buffalo sauce on it. IT. IS. AMAZING. I had a hard time putting it down to slow down!!!! The side pickles are to die for. But the best. The absolute best for me- was the side of Mac and cheese. Holy cow. The cheese. There are not enough positive words in the English language for just how much I love that cheese. My grilled cod sandwich and Afghan rice were delicious. I ended up taking the fish and fixings and putting them on the rice. Fantastic. First things first. The staff here are quite literally the nicest people on earth. Not just like nice to the customer but like insanely nice to each other. My significant other and I sat at the bar, and I couldn't help but notice just how authentically nice the team is. We were there for two hours at least. Not even an ounce of sarcasm, sass or attitude. My SO even commented to me after how he had noticed it - it truly stands out that much. Second, the food and drink are worth checking out. We had the Caesar salad - which was huge btw, especially for the price point. It was like a never ending salad and I'm not complaining :) We also did the steak sandwich - delicious. And the fries! I've never had fries like that but they were almost like churros they were so good. We were in town to visit but they had many other plates that looked like they were worth checking out. It's funny how a restaurant can hit it out of the park for one person and be a let down for another--even when sitting at the same table. I had the Diner burger with Spudnik fries. The fries were great! Possibly boiled and then fried? Honestly, I don't know...but I enjoyed the crunchy exterior and fluffy inside. The burger was described as 2 smash patties on the menu, but what I got was like a Wendy's patty--square. It was definitely juicy, but too juicy if that's possible. I don't like the bottom bun soggy to the point that it is useless because it's completely saturated with juice. I also don't like when my plate is full of juice that runs into my fries and makes them soggy. Despite being way too juicy, my burger was tasty and I would get it again--just ask to smash it a bit. Hubs got the Kosmos burger and fried pickles. He ate the pickles like they were the best thing he'd had in a while. He was not impressed with his burger at all. He only ate half of it. Kiddo 1 got the cheese burger and fries. He loved the fries and didn't even eat his burger because he thought the saturated bottom bun was disgusting. Kiddo 2 got the macaroni and cheese and said it was gross. I tasted it and wasn't a fan. To me, it tasted like eggs. Kiddo 1 liked the flavor but did not like the texture, which was similar to all bechamel and cheese based sauces. I saw a couple of fried chicken sandwiches being delivered to tables around us. We decided to try this place out and I immediately dug the location. The decor was really nice too. We walked in and the sign said "wait to be seated." So we did. For at least 10 minutes. There were 6 open tables, no one else in line and yet the staff would make eye contact but not say anything. As I could sense my husband's growing frustration another couple came in and then the wait was out the door, but no one said anything to us. I was about to give up when the waitress told us to pick any table. The couple behind us was waited on first and we were so frustrated by the service that we ordered our drinks, dinner, and dessert all at once. We were hungry, roaming downtown, and we remembered about this place. It seems that it was recently remodeled on the outside, giving it a better parking space and patio! The inside is quirky and quite interesting. The shadow of a fountain. A window to the sky. Balloons floating on a starry night. Wheels and gears. Gold chandeliers. All these elements give this place a lot of personality. The service was friendly and always with a smile. It was a bit slow though but they were doing their best. We ordered the elote corn ribs to start. This dish had a creative name and a nice roasted and sweet flavor. Then, we got the Jamin brie burger with spudnik fries and the steak sandwich with mac and cheese. The steak was at a medium well temperature and the chimichurri gave it an earthy and sweet flavor. The mac and cheese was nice and cheesy but was missing something to make it great. The burger was quite amazing! The combination of brie and green chile jam were out of this world (pun absolutely intended). The spudnik fries don't have a special flavor but the shape is just pure fun with a touch of art to make them special. The one thing that could be better is the size of the burgers and sandwiches. Just a tad bigger would have left me satisfied and absolutely delighted. Overall, this place is definitely a must visit. Just be patient and the food will be worth it. read more

In town for business and found through Yelp. I read they served deep fried pickles and burgers so chose this restaurant. The place had a unique vibe. Ordered the deep fried pickles and the batter was so thick it looked like a basket of deep fried mushrooms. And they tasted like breading and grease. Didn't eat. Also ordered the Cosmic burger and it was ok but nothing special. The meat was on dry side and no flavor. You have to add green chili and sauces to get flavor... No flavor of the meat. Disappointed as the food did not look like the photos on Yelp and the taste was off. Service was ok. Again, nothing special to make it stand out from other mediocre restaurants. read more

When we first walked in, there was a wait to be seated sign and two parties in front of us. We waited for over 30 minutes and no one greeted us or explained how long the wait would be. There was a sign on the door about how to make reservations, but we didn't see anything about reservations on the website. As we waited, we noticed that many people were finished with their food but weren't getting up because they were waiting on the checks. The restaurant itself had cool decor and good ambiance. The was food was decent and was worth the price. Overall, the service wasn't great and very slow paced. The restaurant needs to work on efficiency with billing/cleaning tables/greeting guests, etc. The food came out quickly though which was good. This place was wonderful! The decor is really cool inside and out. At night look for the glowing lights. Don't let the industrial setting fool you. Talk about Atmosphere! The coolest restaurant style, comfortable chairs, and floor to ceiling windows. Our orders were perfection and the drinks were delicious, Pickletini's, to be precise. I had the steak sandwich; perfect medium rare, my wife had the jammin Brie burger (smashed), and my kids had the Mac n cheese and fish. Everything was perfect. I also ordered a side of afghan rice because I just wanted to try it. They were both very very yummy. I got full right away so the portion is pretty big for the price. We visited for lunch on a Saturday around 12. There were only a few tables left when we arrived and when we left, it was full. They have a decent selection of NM beers on tap. We each had a beer with our lunch. When we arrived, one server with a food deliverer were on the floor. The server was working hard to make sure orders were received and the food expediter was ensuring glasses were filled and beers delivered timely along with delivering food. A second server arrived while we were there. I asked what the soup of the day was and there was no soup on Saturday so then I ordered the seasonal salad and was informed they were out of the seasonal salad so I went to entirely different direction and got the green Chile cheeseburger. The burger was good, good amount of Chile, a large amount of fresh romaine lettuce, red onion and housemade pickles were served on the side. Hubby ordered the Afghan rice and added chicken. When the food arrived, the smell of the Afghan rice made my mouth water. I tasted the rice dish and it was outstanding. The chutney was served on the side and had an amazing flavor, sweet, savory, spicy- it had it all. The warm spices, golden raisins, almonds, and carrots were all in balance with one another. I would definitely order the rice dish next time. I should have ordered a sauce for my green Chile cheeseburger- next time I would order the green Chile dip as I believe it would have made the burger better but that is my oversight. When my burger was delivered, I was asked if I wanted mayo or ketchup or anything and I opted from mayo which was brought right out. Cute, quirky decor with good food and service.
